On the rotary in Mashpee. Great staff and service. Nice menu of eat in or to go. Seafood, sandwiches, breakfast seated indoors or out. I had a delightful breakfast of poached eggs, linguica, good coffee and potatoes cooked to order. My vegan wife had excellent mixed fruit and oatmeal. Quick, diner style ambiance. Recommend to eat out or to get it and go. Stable ownership and friendly attentive staffing. read more

Food was delicious. Great service. Makes you feel like one of the "regulars". We had coffee cake French toast and eggs. Everything was yummy! read more

I have eaten a few of the major staples off the menu here but I keep going back to the Rueben and for good reason. Thin sliced, folded layers of meat with the additional ingredients layered between make for a perfect bite every time. The team here is fantastic, they will get to know you and your family, building a connection that adds to the experience. My other favorite item on the menu is the clam roll platter, the value is beyond insane and you get more flavor than anyone else around. read more

Came here for breakfast and had a pleasant experience. The place seems unassuming from the outside but is quite nice. They offer a handful of breakfast items that are super fairly priced. I had the Cape Cod Favorite which was really good. The homemade jag (Portuguese rice and beans) was also delicious. Our server was very friendly and food came out so quickly. Would come back. read more

Amazing food - omelette was one of the best I have had in a long time. Their homefries seasoning was so good that I asked them what was used and they gave me a to go container filled with it! Very kind staff, very fast service, and an excellent experience. Wonderful breakfast and lunch menu. read more

Locals with a sense of openness , The fact that a kitchen and a dining area are separate spaces doesn't stop these waitresses from yelling conversations across the restaurant. While they complain about how much they need money and how much they made during a nor'easter. The service is slow and loud the food will lets just say it's extremely well cooked in fact burnt would be a better word. 2 breakfast both meals had Two eggs sausage and toast with burnt home fry's. One coffee and one tea. $40.00. Not including tip. The Loud nonsense conversation was free ! Will I be back ? Only in a pinch ! read more

Great breakfast, one of my favorites is the breakfast sandwich. The food comes out fast and hot, the service is outstanding, They also do takeout if you're on the move! Great food, great place to have breakfast in Mashpee! read more

The fried fish was great, and generous portions. Bay scallops get lost in the breading, sea scallops would be so much better. Clams were good but we prefer a lighter breading to what they use. Clam chowder was also great, husband liked it best of anywhere else local (tender clams and no lemony flavor like many others seem to be doing). I'd skip the fisherman's platter next time and stick to fish and chowder. read more

Great stop for lunch and breakfast! service is quick and friendly. The menu has tons of options for everyone. We got sandwiches to go and ate them on the beach. Super yummy! Fresh ingredients. Poor customer service. Lady was complaining about customers openly and was not friendly at all. For the money they charge they should show some basic common curtesy. Food is very good though. read more

Great discovery at my fingertips. Have driven by for close to 10 years and decided to try today. Excellent breakfast and lunch spot with indoor and outdoor seating. The chicken salad is delicious with large white meat chunks and minimal mayonnaise. Everything is fresh and they are super friendly and efficient. Even welcome dogs!!! read more

Last Thursday of every month they participate in a Pasta Night with a "pay it forward" theme. You can purchase an entree to be delivered to a needy family. I ordered a Chix Parm with a side of meatballs. Came with 2 small side salads, 4 pieces of bread and butter. I've got lunch for tomorrow since I couldn't finish it. Crunchy chicken and great meatballs. Sauce was on point. I'll be back ! read more

Picnic Box - a plate of food with bacon, eggs, hash browns, potatoes and bacon - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Mashpee, Massachusetts

Stopped for bfast and coffee on our way to Yarmouth. Service was good but the food wasn't.. The sausage, egg, and cheese on an English muffin was decent. The home fries were awful. I didn't eat them :(. They were under seasoned and undercooked. My bf got the hash and eggs. Canned hash is not my fave so not for me! Most bfast places in Boston make their own and that's pretty much what I expect if it's the SAME price. The coffee was also terrible. It came to $23 for everything which seemed overpriced for what we got (quality and quantity). read more

I had the occasion to go out for lunch by myself today, something I hardly ever do, and decided to try the iconic Picnic Box on the Mashpee Rotary. Over decades of visiting and now living on Cape for more than a decade, we've passed this place hundreds of times but have never stopped. If you've ever been through the Mashpee rotary you've seen The Picnic Box too. It's been there seemingly forever which is why I call it iconic. If you've never stopped, for either breakfast or lunch (they are open everyday of the year from 6 am until 2pm--except Christmas Day), do so--as much for the exceedingly friendly atmosphere as for the quality of the food. The Picnic Box is intimate, but with tables well spaced apart and it's spotless (including at least the men's room). Jenna, who takes all the phone orders pouring in and takes your order, greeted me like she was welcoming me to her home. After a while it was easy to see why, so many of the folks dining there and stopping by to pick up orders are clearly regulars, they not only know all the staff by name but seem to know each other as well. I ordered a grilled burger and fries with an unsweetened iced tea. I don't eat a great many burgers, but have eaten my share over a long life and this one was absolutely delicious (and large). A fresh and thick, hand-made patty, perfectly seared on both sides, medium in the middle (as ordered) and yet still juicy. It was served on a grilled bun with leaf lettuce, chopped yellow onion, and a thick slice of ripe tomato with just a smidge of ketchup on the bun. I know, I know, it's "only" a burger, but it's so easy to make a bad one and this one was totally memorable. The fries were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, too many for me to finish, and the unsweetened tea was fresh. I saw people who had ordered some of the fried seafood on their varied menu--whole belly clams, sea scallops, and shrimp--and the servings were generous, the prices extremely reasonable, and the folks eating these dishes did so with a smile. I was impressed by the volume of their takeout business as well as with the attention sit-down clients received from Jenna. Just a delightful meal and now I no longer feel guilty for having passed The Picnic Box so many times, over decades without stopping. If you pass it, I would strongly encourage you to stop in for a meal as well as to make yourself "at home." read more

Was in the area and I gotta say I was not impressed. I mean the food wasn't gross but the portions were small and way over priced for such a small restaurant. I don't plan on going there again considering I could have went to a nice restaurant for dinner with the money I paid for lunch here. read more

My friends and I were biking on the Cape on a very hot Saturday, and in desperate need of a quick stop and a good lunch. Although the sign on the outside said "Closed", we were welcomed in with open arms and served like Kings and Queens! They even brought an umbrella out to get us a little shade to help us kool off! I am stopping by for food any time I'm close to this place again! Thanks so much! read more

Great quick place to get breakfast! Kids loved their pancakes and bacon! Friendly staff! Very easy to get to.

Wicked expensive little spot. But the food was good. Definitely a townie-friendly type of place.

We came for breakfast and cape cod cafe had long waiting. We found this place on google. We came here. One of the worst breakfast experiences I ever had. The place is run down. The food is cheap. The home fries were not edible. Waffles were out of a box. Everything was nasty except the eggs. You get what you pay for. The worst thing was the lady, who took orders. She was nasty as hell. She acted as if she does not want to be there. It is possible she didn't want serve brown people or this is her baseline - hard to judge. Overall nasty food topped up by nasty lady. Memorable breakfast -FOR THE WORST!!!!! read more

Nothing speacal here, definitely not warm n friendly attitudes here. read more

Was hoping for a nice, easy breakfast before our trip back home, unfortunately, this didn't fit the bill. Greasy spot but not good home cookin and expensive for what it was. Not sure what really was the crab cake Benedict. Didn't look like any crab cake I've ever seen, but then again, I'm from MD and we know what good crab is. The Benedict sauce was thick and not flavorful and the potatoes seemed frozen from a bag. And the clam chowder- don't even try it- it was more like potato chowder- clams were nowhere to be seen or eaten. Environment wasn't too clean and no one cleared your plates when done. Im still trying to shake the nearly $50 on 3 meals and no drinks and just feeling regretful. read more

Just left here. We had breakfast and it was disgusting. Please find somewhere else. The toast was slathered with white stuff but it didn't taste like butter, it was rancid. The potatoes were rock hard, barely cooked with little taste. The pancakes were gross, my 1 year old wouldn't even eat them and threw them on the floor. My mother also found a hair in her food. Just a bad breakfast. Service subpar and not very friendly. We left almost all our food on the plate and the waitresses didn't bother to ask why. It's hard to mess up breakfast but somehow they did. Go to mcdonalds. read more

I am visiting the cape from RI and wanted to have a quick bite to eat this morning before golf. I stopped at this charming little spot off the rotary. The staff there were very busy, but greeted me with a smile. There was a woman complaining and causing a bit of a scene, but the waitress was extremely professional, and once I was seated, she brought me a coffee. Very quaint place, and the food was outstanding, I had a western omelette, bacon, toast and home fries, soooo good. I can not wait to try lunch there tomorrow! read more
