Love love love the Fig Tree Cafe -- we come here for weekend brunch whenever we can! So many great things on the menu, and everyone in the family leaves happy -- whether it's an omelette, an eggs benny (the smoked salmon one is especially good), the avocado toast (perfect with poached eggs on top), the lemon ricotta pancakes with raspberry sauce, or one of the many smoothies! All the waitstaff are friendly as can be, and the decor is cheerful and sweet. There's a wait if you roll in late in the morning, but they'll take your phone number and call you when your table's ready, so you don't have to hover awkwardly right by the door. The food here is fabulous. The cinnamon French toast really tastes like cinnamon (as opposed to the egg taste I usually associate with French toast). The pancakes were fluffy and flavorful- two was definitely enough but the third is only $1 more. They put chocolate chips into the batter but also on top for maximum chocolateyness. They told us it would take about 20 minutes to get a table for 2 which makes sense on a Sunday morning in the summer, and it was a pretty accurate estimate. It took a while to get the food, about 35 minutes from when we ordered. The wait to get on the waitlist was interesting because I think the checkout computer for the bakery is also where waiters and waitresses have to put in orders, verbally with whoever is there. There was a line of us waiting to put our names down/check in while a waitress had to read out three tables' orders to be entered on the tablet. We'd been done eating for about 10 minutes and sat waiting for the check, unsure if we were supposed to checkout at the computer or if they'd bring a check. We flagged down our waitress to ask and she told us we could pay at the counter (glad we asked!) We had what I'd consider the best table in the house: a corner two-top! I didn't feel cramped or overwhelmed but I think I might have at a lot of the other tables here. They make the most of their space but I can see where it could be a little claustrophobic. All in all, it's not a quick stop per se but the food is great and we love supporting small businesses! read more

We met up with friends at The Fig Tree for breakfast on Sunday last. It's a cute little place with a charm all its own. Very busy on weekends, in fact all the time, but they have their system and it works well. We were seated very quickly and the service was friendly and prompt. I don't comment on companion's meals unless I taste them so I'll just report that my Bruschetta Avocado Toast on multigrain toast with marinated tomatoes, two eggs and a balsamic drizzle with home fried potatoes was just delicious. Every component worked well with everything else on my plate. I've eaten here several times and I must say I've NEVER been disappointed. I recently tried the Fig Tree version of the Philly Loaded Cheesesteak Sub. I'm from Philly so I know what it is on a deep level. The people making the food here really know what they're doing, so the fact that I am willing to even try a Philly Cheesesteak made anywhere outside Philadelphia says it all. I knew it would be good but I have to say, it exceeded my expectations. This is a great version of this classic sandwich, but if you really want your mind blown, try the Maine Lobster Grilled Cheese. I was charge 995 for one scrambled egg and then a la carte for the English muffin and bacon when it was supposed to all be one price my bill ended up $22 when I questioned the waitress she had an attitude and had told us there was a dollar 50 split charge fee for the Party of Five we only wanted four checks for five people each one of us had to pay $1.50 extra on our bill so I was screwed on my bill and waitress was not going to fix it even though I brought it to her attention I was charged separately for everything prices are very high there for what you get in between the attitude and my check I will never go back there or recommend it to anyone read more

We live right down the street from the Fig Tree, so it's somewhere we've enjoyed multiple times before. It's very small inside, but we were only a party of two and were seated immediately. It took a few minutes before we were greeted and had our order taken. I finished my coffee within the first few minutes of receiving it (#momlife), but after about 15 minutes of waiting for a refill, had to flag someone down. Our food was brought out in the next couple minutes. I usually enjoy the FTC's eggs benedict - a meal I can't be bothered to spend time making myself, and one I have enjoyed there in the past. So that's what I ordered this time, and decided to spoil myself by subbing the included home fries, with the shredded hash browns that boasted nice caramelized veggies, for an upcharge. The shredded hash browns arrived looking quite underwhelming. Being the part of the dish I was most looking forward to trying, that's where I took my first bite. They were as dry and flavorless as they appeared, unfortunately. The peppers could be identified as little red specks, and I assume the blackened specks I encountered here and there when cutting into it, were the caramelized onions. Onto the benny. Beautiful and perfectly cooked. Mostly delicious. However, the hollandaise sauce had an overwhelming lemon flavor, which is not something I've encountered before. Picture your eggs being topped with the innards of a lemon bar. I ended up scraping the sauce off. Finished the eggs, but the hash browns were inedible. We were only checked on once towards the end of our meal, even though the restaurant was emptying and the servers were all hovering behind the counter. I politely expressed my thoughts on the hash browns, and received an understanding apology from the waiter. At a $5 upcharge, and left untouched on my plate, I expected them to be removed from the bill. However, they were not. We paid and left without further incident -- however, this probably will not be a restaurant we revisit in the near future. It's difficult to trust a dining experience when your favorite items are great one time, but unpalatable the next. Live and learn! read more

This is a great breakfast spot! The cinnamon swirl french toast (using bread from Fireking Bakery) with bananas was delicious! My parents enjoyed their omelets and toast with fig jam. Also, it was great to learn that the home fries are cooked separately from shellfish and they have a fully vegan menu with gluten-free options too! I love the eclectic signs on the walls. I also noticed that the seats at the bar have comfy backs on the stools! The dining area is small but the food is worth the wait. I love it here and I love that they have a full vegan menu in addition to the regular menu. I've had a couple different things there, and today I tried the vegan grilled cheese and was blown away by how amazing it is. I was a little hesitant because vegan cheese is hit or miss, but the sandwich has so many amazing ingredients (fig jam, apple, arugula on amazing sourdough) you wouldn't even notice. I got the Fig Tree Grilled Cheese and it was the best grilled cheese sandwich I've ever had! The arugula and apple slices added a nice freshness and they complemented the fig jam and brie perfectly. First things first, The restaurant smells like mold. It took us 15 minutes to get a coffee and a Vegan menu. Then another 10 minutes to get a Cappachino. I order the Tofu Scramble with Home Fries. The Scramble was ok, homes fries tasted like wet day old potatoes. The Cappachino was horrible, it was something you get from a vending machine. My husband order to the Veggie Burger with Vegan Cheese, came to the table with no cheese and sloppy presentation. This new Vegan Menu is just an after thought. Recently visited the Fig Tree Cafe for the first time on a vacation weekend with friends. We visited on a Monday morning and were very pleasantly surprised. I will preface this review by stating that my wife uses a wheelchair, so one of the first things I try to determine is whether a place will work out for her or not. Overall High Level: We were a party of six and despite being somewhat busy, we were seated quite quickly. The staff and our waitress were very quick and attentive to our table and needs. The food (which I can't believe I didn't get any pictures of) was delicious. I personally had the Thick Cut Cinnamon French Toast with Strawberries and Whipped Cream with a side of Bacon. The coffee was great as well. You can definitely tell that they take time on their food and use fresh ingredients wherever possible. Parking outside was a little dicey, but we were able to find two regular parking spaces in the lot next to the cafe. At our time of arrival there was a food delivery truck blocking all of the spaces directly in front of the cafe. I think I speak for our party of six when I say that this place is fantastic and we will definitely be back again! It has a really cool, locals type of vibe. They also have outdoor seating available. ADA Accessibility Comments: PARKING: I noticed a single handicap parking space directly across the street from the cafe. Later, I noticed that there was 1 or two handicapped spots directly in front of the cafe, but again, this entire area was blocked by a food delivery truck. Fortunately, we don't NEED one of these spots and we were able to park in the side lot. ENTRANCE: There was a bit of a lip to get in the door. If you're good at popping a small wheelie in your chair or have someone who can tip you back a little you're golden. SPACE: The relatively small space is quite densely packed with chairs, tables and happy customers. I was initially skeptical about whether my wife would be able to get her chair to any of the tables, however the staff quickly made a path for her and asked some customers to pull in their chairs and we were quickly seated at our table. Due to the closeness of the tables, she needed to sit at the end of a table and the back of her chair was pretty close to a two seater table along the wall. Fortunately we were able to move our 3 tables down a little bit and create some additional space there. RESTROOMS: The bathroom (as you'll see in the photo) has a grab bar on the wall, but that doesn't make it accessible. If you look a the photo of the entrance door for the bathroom, you'll notice a red hutch to the left. When you open the door, it doesn't open all the way because of this hutch and it's not just something you can move. Fortunately my wife's chair is on the narrower side of things width wise. She was able to wheel in facing forward. However, she quickly realized that due to the wall mounted trash can, there is no way to maneuver her chair to turn it around. So, she backed out of the bathroom and turned around and backed in. After she backed in, she was able to align her wheelchair with the toilet and then lean forward and grab the grab bar to transition on to the toilet. So, my feedback would be that it is possible, but if you require assistance from someone else, you likely will not be able to use this bathroom just due to the small size of the room itself. WHEN: Saturday @ 12pm This brunch place is a must when you're visiting cape cod. The menu has a variety of healthy food options. It's both indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor typically have like 10-15min wait while outdoor dinning there's no wait. We opted for outdoor dinning and sat beneath the umbrella shades. There are water pitchers, plastic utensils, condiments available outside. WHAT WE ORDERED Eggs Benedict's Poached eggs breakfast Corn beef hash breakfast The food came out fairly quickly after ordering. You order and pay inside if you're sitting outdoor. The server brings out the food once ready. Think I only waited 15min. The brunch items are cheaper compared to a typical CA brunch, definitely worth it for the value. I highly recommend visiting this hidden brunch gem at the cape. It's small and intimate brunch restaurant. It closes at 3pm daily, so don't wait around all day. read more
