Stopped in for lunch on a whim while driving through Falmouth. Biggest problem was finding parking. Both lots were full so we waited for a spot to open up. Our server was pleasant enough and the small restaurant was cute. Bar, hightop, booth and table seating are available. I ordered the fish and chips while my wife ordered the fish tacos with sweet potato fries. The fish tacos were very good but had too much cilantro but the taste was very fresh. My fish and chips was excellent. The fish was cooked perfectly, flaky and still glistening. The batter was crispy and was thicker than tempura but thinner than beer batter. The only issue was a fairly small portion size. My wife had the same amount of fish on her tacos. We did have dessert, which was unusual for us. My pecan pie was extremely well done and had a wonderful flavor. Only way to make it better would be to serve it cold, not room temperature...but that's just personal preference. My wife got the tapioca pudding, which was a little less successfully prepared. The texture wasn't bad, it was served cold but had to option to be heated and the serving size was good. We just stopped in to get a quick lunch. The place had good reviews, so we were pleased to find a nice place on the way to the Vineyard. It was quaint and, at first, seemed pretty friendly. We were sat, but then nobody came by in the 15 minutes we sat there. None of the servers acknowledged us or even brought us water. This is the cutest little breakfast place. It's exactly what you would think of when you think vacation destination cafe. The ambience was your typical vacation diner ambience. The menu was large with so many options. There were lobster breakfast foods, French toasts, pancakes, and all the other typical breakfast foods. All the food we had here was amazing! I had the cinnamon roll French toast which came with strawberries to balance out the sweetness with a bit of tart perfectly. My husband had an omelet and thought it was great as well. A restaurant is only as good as the staff it employs and Crabapples consist of only the best. When the bartender at a local dive bar recommends a restaurant, you go. And we were so THRILLED to have taken her advice to have lunch at Crabapple's! The conversation started with who has the best chowdah on the Cape. She said the "Wicked" Fish Chowdah was her favorite - Crabapple's tagline: "You haven't really been to Cape Cod until you've tried our Fish Chowdah!" We concur. We loved Crabapples so much we went two days in a row. Warm, comfortable atmosphere, friendly staff and incredible food at a great value. The first day I had the scallops and they were absolutely scrumptious. Fat, juicy and plentiful. My partner had the Cuban and loved also loved it. While on vacation, we passed by this place a few times before deciding to try it. It doesn't look super impressive from the outside but all the staff are so friendly and welcoming inside! They will greet you when you're waiting by the door, which is rare these days. They stay pretty busy but we never had to wait long during our visit in September. Their standout dish was the fish "chowdah"! We got it twice two different times! A lady waiting with us the last time said she drives from 25 minutes away to get the chowder every week.
