    Seafood Plater

So for some reason I haven't eaten here since 2001, no clue why but decided to stop in and give it a try and I am glad I did. We were pleasantly greater and seated, the dining room was clean and there was a fire going that added to the ambiance. We ordered our drinks and we ordered some fried mozzarella sticks and I ordered a stuffed quahog. We didn't wait long and were given hot rolls in the meantime. Our waiter was also very attentive and pleasant. The appetizers came out and they were fantastic, the crust on the mozzarella sticks was incredibly light and crunchy and paired with a great marinara sauce. My stuffed quahog was very generous and cooked to perfection, I really enjoyed it. Our mains came out and I can honestly say the chicken pot pie had tons of chicken and vegetables in it and the crust was very nice along with the gravy and mashed potatoes. My seafood platter was very good and not full of fries like you get at a lot of other places, there were almost as many scollops as there were clams and they all tasted fantastic with a really good light crunchy batter. I can't wait to go back and try some other items on the menu!!!

Stuffed Quahogs are next level, but that was really the only thing we ordered that was impressive. We ordered takeout, were quoted 15 minutes and it took closer to an hour. We weren't in a huge rush so this was fine. When we got home, we realized they didn't give the blue cheese dressing with the buffalo strips, which was super disappointing, especially since they display homemade blue cheese on the menu, which was exciting to me. We also got clam chowder and stuffed quahogs. The quahogs were delicious, on the better side of the many I've had. Clam chowder was decent, but needed more salt. I would hope that an experience in-restaurant would be better.

This is a nice little family restaurant in Wareham Connecticut and they have some of the best tasting seafood chowder I've ever had. This place has been in business for a few decades, and the grandfather makes the chowder himself every day and it's such a secret he won't even tell the rest of his family members. I will go out on a limb and say this is probably the best tasting chowder that I've ever had. The ambience of the restaurant is pretty down to earth and very laid-back. The service is excellent and they even have a takeout section with barstools to get a drink or eat a bowl of chowder while you're waiting on your meal to be prepared. The chowder is so popular they'll even ship it overnight anywhere in the country in a frozen state then you just thaw it in the refrigerator and prepare it as directed.

Great lunch at Bailey's Surf and Turf on Cranberry Highway in Wareham. Lots of safe GF options ranging from salads to burgers, steak tips, and seafood. We had the Midwest Burger and Carolina Burger (pictured below). This was our second time there and we really enjoyed it - and had no issues either time. Highly recommend!

Great food and service very nice and my food came out fast and got seated very quickly to

I finally paid a visit back to the old lobster pot, which is still as good as I remember. I wouldn't say staff was overly friendly here, but they weren't unpleasant by any means, although I think they could've been more friendly. The restaurant itself is a cute little place that feels a lot like New England. It's got lobster tanks, your standard New England seafood, and nothing fancy about it. For my meal, I ordered the scallop plate, which came with fried scallops and french fries, as well as coleslaw. I also ordered a side cup of their New England clam chowder, which was unbelievable. Everything about the meal was absolutely delicious. The only real "complaint" I have about this place is the price of the food. While I know, seafood isn't cheap, our meals to feed three adults was over $100. Certainly not what I expected from this little place. All in all, fantastic experience and I would definitely visit again, especially for the nostalgia. The only thing holding me back from becoming a regular is the price tag.

Unfortunately, the same unfriendly attitude continued when I arrived to pick up our food. The lobster rolls were overloaded with mayonnaise--to the point where that was all we could taste--and were definitely not worth the price. On top of that, fries and coleslaw cost extra. When I realized my pickup order was missing the coleslaw, I mentioned it, only to be told rudely that I hadn't ordered it and would have to pay extra. Considering we had already spent $95 on two dinners, the lack of customer service was disappointing. Overall, the food was overpriced, and the rude service made the experience even worse. We won't be returning.

Now they are staying open later in the season and we are SOOOOO happy! This place ROCKS! Cute little place, love the outside deck, but let's get real, it's all about the food! We've been twice now. I got the small (yeah, right) lobster roll and clam chowder combo both times I came. FIrst, I don't know who can eat the Monsta one, not I. The "small" is bigger than anyone else's I've seen. If you look closely at the last pic I posted of the lobster roll, there is an ENTIRE lobster in there. There is a full, uncut lobster tail, and two full, uncut claws, and a ton of other meat around it. Full lobster kids. The grill on the bun is perfect. While the bun is hot, the lobster itself is served cold and undressed, but with warm drawn butter on the side. MMmmmmmmmm. It's my fav lobster roll hands down. Both times I've had a few of the raw littlenecks. So good. Also last time, the BF went with me and he had the Cuban sandwich, as he is not a fan of clams or lobster (I know, and I stay with him anyway). This Cubano was INSANE good! I had a couple bites. We both love a Cubano, and this is probably the best one either of us have ever had. Great bread, and it's HUGE! All in all, great place, great food, great vibe, friendly peeps. Can't wait til next September! Woohoo!

Well my husband did go ahead and eat it- but nothing to write home about. The fried food-fries & quahogs - never had a bad one at the Falmouth location. The Mai Tai was completely watered down, but talking amount of alcohol-I prefer a drink that isn't too heavy in booze, but the juice/mixer was like so filtered it wasn't even good. We were really looking forward to coming to his Onset location for lunch, been eating at Quahog Republic since Mashnee Island- I go back to the days of The Dr. Flynn Mai Tai- this meal and the drinks may fly for tourists, but this local is NOT COMING BACK. Addendum: because my husband sent his quahog back, because our quahogs were SUPER GREASY & I sent my chowder back to be warmed up (because it arrived tepid) - the waitress pro-actively took the Quahogs off the bill & my chowder. We didn't actually, "complain " about anything, just those 2 things-the rest we didn't say a thing, it wouldn't change a thing, if we had. We didn't go to the Quahog Republic for free food in a nice waterfront setting- we went there for the good food we have become accustomed to from The Quahog Republic & sadly the food & cocktails seem to have gone down hill. Looks like we will be sticking to the location in Falmouth- they haven't let is down, yet.

Not only is the setting home-y, but the staff is all very kind and quick to greet guests. The good old home feel doesn't stop with the setting or service, but it carries through to the food as well. The food comes out looking like a true, delicious, home-cooked meal with the flavor to back it up! For an appetizer I ordered the Charlie's Chowder, which is the best chowder I've ever had, in New England or otherwise. It comes packed with scallops, lobster, and cod, and is absolutely to die for. For my main course, I ordered the Lemon Caper Cod, which was also wonderful. The piece of cod is huge, and is served with a bed of rice, seasonal veggies (mine were carrots) and, of course, capers. The fish was tender and cooked to perfection and, while I'm not typically a huge carrot fan, the steamed carrots they made were sweet and tasty! If I knew how they make them I'd become a much bigger fan of carrots. From start to finish, everything about this place is top notch! A definite must try!
