We had SO much fun at the 1883 lounge! We've been twice now for karaoke on Sunday nights. The basement lounge has brick walls and string lights, creating a fun casual atmosphere. During both visits, our bartenders were friendly and attentive. Their late night menu downstairs is elevated bar food. We ordered a pizza and Philly cheesesteak egg rolls, both of which were yummy! The karaoke creates a welcoming atmosphere, with singers of all skill sets. We had so much fun in the crowd dancing and singing along. This is definitely the most hopping Sunday night around!!! read more

There was a lightning storm that evening that required generator backup power. Very romantic with generator humming away outside and the inside lighting occasionally flickering. The wait staff person was very upbeat and apologizing for a few items that were unavailable because of the outage. Nevertheless the food was excellent! Parking out back was free. All in all, a very pleasant and memorable visit to what is now called The Glen Cove Inn. read more

Sadly, my quest for a 5* prime rib within 25 miles of Wareham, did not end here. The size of the prime rib justifies the $36 price tag, but both my wife and I thought it was lacking in flavor. It just does not compare to some of the prime ribs I had in Florida. On the plus side, it was ordered Medium rare and came (perfectly) medium rare. My quest continues. The prime rib came with generous portions of green beans and fingerling potatoes. They were well prepared, but I would have preferred baked potato and asparagus, which were not available. The Caesar Salad at $10 is a bargain based on the size and quality. Very few people would be capable of finishing it and a main course. I suggest splitting it between 2 (or 3) people. The crab cakes were a generous portion for an appetizer, and tasted quite good. I give them 4.5*. The room has extremely bad acoustics. At times, the sound was almost deafening. The is another dining room upstairs. If we go back, we'll see if the upstairs has more reasonable sound levels. Parking can be a big problem. Their parking lot is very small, and there is no on street parking near by. If you don't get one of the few spaces, you may have to walk several blocks from the city parking lot. read more

Stopped here tonight and enjoyed every minute. Live music from RadioHoney. We had the clam chowder which I give a 6 out of 10. It was thick, had an ok amount of clams and the crisp bacon was a nice touch. The coconut shrimp was great. Crispy, lightly seasoned and great portion size. The steak and cheese egg rolls melt in your mouth, seasoned well and cheesy. The bacon wraped scallops are delicious and the hot honey have it a perfect flavor combination. Unfortunately we missed out on the prime rib but the NY sirloin was Outstanding. Medium rare, flavorful char outside and garlic butter on top. Our server went out her way to make sure we were satisfied all while on the move with a full bar and busy tables. I cant wait to return. 5 stars due to outstanding service in packed bar and tables. We went on a Sunday night around 5:30pm which was great as it was still quiet before everyone came for Karaoke. The parking lot is a little small and is mostly for the hotel guests but since we were patrons and the sign said patrons, we parked there. No issues. They draw a pretty good crowd of regulars. We sat at the bar. Quickly greeted and served. Drinks were good and so was the food. We ordered Cobb salad and they split it for us without even asking. We got the lobster Mac and Cheese which was delicious! Lots of lobster and the cheese was melted perfectly. We had some espresso martinis for dessert and they were tasty as well. This is when the place was at full capacity and we decided to call the night a wrap. All around a fun spot in the basement of the hotel. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants good food, drinks and some fun!! read more

The food was excellent here. I had a side Cesar salad, that was dressed with their homemade dressing and shaved Parmesan cheese. Great! The I had broiled scallops and shrimp plate served in a butter ritz crackers combo served with string beans and rice. The string beans were the best I've ever had and finished with a crème brulee desert that was also excellent.. Obviously, this place has a trained head chef with lots of experience. Dinner at the1883 lounge. We have been several times since opening and the lounge downstairs is the best spot to enjoy a meal, have a few drinks and make new friends. Had dinner at the bar. Cool atmosphere, brick walled room with bar, high tops and booth seating. Very good. Prices are reasonable. Parking is tough, with a small lot and permit parking in the residential neighborhood that surrounds, so you may have to walk a little bit if the lot is full.Prime Rib special tonight was great! read more

We started off our vacation with dinner here at the bar and loved it so much we came back another night. The live music was so great and our food was delicious. Some of the best fish and chips I've ever had. The best part and the reason I'm taking the time to write this review was the service. Even though we were sitting at a packed bar surrounded by people dancing and singing to the band, the staff were so incredibly attentive. Well well well, where should I begin? The dining experience at this restaurant was excellent from the moment I was seated until the moment I left! The service was impeccable; this included the food and drinks coming at a quick but not rushed pace and also the waitress and the hostess being very friendly. The food was delicious. I got the Caesar salad and had the wonderful opportunity of trying the swordfish and lobster ravioli. The swordfish was grilled perfectly where it was almost crispy on the outside but had a melt in your mouth texture in the inside. It was also garnished with watermelon relish which allowed a refreshing contrast. The lobster ravioli was chock full of lobster and there was also perfectly cooked scallop, shrimp and mushrooms swimming within the lemon butter sauce it was served in. I will definitely be back even though the 2 for $50 special has ended starting 4/30/21 but the individual entrees are 100% worth it. read more

Stopped in on a Sunday night for dinner and with my boyfriend, and we found a real gem of a restaurant here. Everyone was super friendly, and although it had a professional, semi-fancy vibe to it, the 1883 lounge also had a homey vibe as well. We got the boneless wings with the parmesan sauce as an appetizer, fried chicken sandwich, cheeseburger pizza, and for dessert the lava cake. Everything was so so delicious and fairly priced. Service was great as well, I don't remember her name but she was super friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend this place, it seems super underrated. read more

The food here is consistently delicious and a great value. The service is unfailingly both friendly and professional and the atmosphere is warm and cozy with a great view from the main dining room. The fish and chips are the best around. The swordfish bruschetta served with parmesan risotto managed to be light and decadent at the same time. The Glen Cove 1883 Lounge is by far the best restaurant in Onset. It's a great place to spend a weekend evening. The food is fantastic! Very creative and well prepared. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is really cool. On weekends they have live entertainment, so you can go for a great meal and then stick around for music and dancing. If you like a quieter dining atmosphere, there is the Bay Room dining room upstairs. Pretty much the same menu and great views of gorgeous Onset Bay. Bonus: they offer 2 for $50 specials in the off season. Well worth it. read more
