Best Quahog evahhhhh! I had read the reviews but didn't believe it until I tried. Moist inside and loaded with fresh chunks of quahog with a crusty topping. Absolutely amazing. Sorry about the picture. As it was being devoured I decided I should have taken a picture. lol! Opted for the Cotuit Reuben which was a twist with a fried piece of scrod topped with coleslaw and 1000 island dressing. This place is a gem!!! Will be back for sure! read more

I love the Kettle Ho. It is the "Cheers" of courier area. It is a local restaurant/bar. Great drinks, very good food and in season very crowded. If in the area you have to go at least once. Then you will go back again and again. read more

To be fair it was Memorial Day weekend but... we waited a very long time for our food. When it came it was not good. The burgers were premade patties that had lots of little rubbery chunks in them. The fries were pretty bland. The salad was not very flavorful either. My order came out wrong so I had to send it back and by the time it came back out everyone was ready to go. The booths are straight backed wood with wood seats so not comfortable. I could see that the bar attracted lots of people so maybe just go for the drinks. Our waitress was also very busy and she disappeared for long stretches. read more

We made this a stop on our way to Hyannis on a Saturday afternoon. The convenience of parking was a pleasant surprise! There is a small lot across the street and ample street parking, making it stress-free for us. No reservations; a weekend before the 4th of July scared me a bit. We took a chance because parking was so easy. We entered and saw they were full. A server greeted us and walked us to the back podium, where we put our name and cell number. She told us it should only be a few minutes as a table was opening up. She was spot on! We waited about 5 minutes outside on a nice bench. There are gardens along the street, which is very pleasant. Our kids were a bit whiny because they were hungry, so we immediately ordered off the kid's menu for them. One kid ordered steak tips and fries. I am SURE they gave him a whole portion--four healthy-sized medallions of what appeared (and tasted) like filet mignon! For 12 bucks?? WOW. My other kid had chicken tenders and fries. He has rated every joint we've stopped at based on their chicken fingers/tenders. He said they are the 2nd best. That's a huge compliment from him. My husband had scallops and risotto cooked to perfection, and I had a stuffed quahog and a four-oz lobster roll with cole slaw. Good restaurant overall. The setting is more of a small town bar which we liked, but it is a family friendly joint! The servers were friendly and relatively attentive. The food was average: My husband ordered fish and chips and said it was okay (Not the best he has bad, but not the worst! He still cleaned his plate though haha). Stayed in Mashpee for a quick trip to New England and Kettle Ho made it so much better. Went here twice. Between the two visits we got Lobster Rolls, Quahogs, Beer (great selection), Burger, Lobster Mac n Cheese. Everything was amazing and it's a great local spot. We went for a nice walk down the street to the docks afterwards. It gets busy on the weekend, but that's expected. Will definitely make my way there again! read more

Had a bad experience in June 2023. Sat at bar, ordered sodas, both flat, waited for bartender forever, seemed annoyed about the sodas, had to wait too long for menus, meal was brought to us by another young girl (friendly & polite). He had fried clams; he rated them a 5. I orders scallops on risotto, inedible. Bartender never came back & finally the owner saw that my plate was uneaten. She offered to replace it but it was too late. She said she'd comp it but when bill arrived flat soda & scallops were on check. When I mentioned it to the bartender she had an attitude and took it back to the owner. Not a good experience. read more

Imma still eat at the Ho every chance I can get, but I have to drop a truth-update from the last summer supping: The lob roll is no longer a special, but it's $33 - thirty-three friggin' dollhairs - and most definitely less stuffed than past seasons. The meat is a little more beat up, so if you're doing it for the 'gram, the knuckle and claw of yesteryear may be tougher to find. Still the best on the Cape, though. Hidden Gem! Notice all the bad reviews are from out of state. This is a great local dive and we like it that way. The place is old, the place is small and it can get crazy busy but that's how we like the Ho!! In the summer it's hard to get into and it's filled with demanding out-of-towners who act like they deserve the world and then some. This is a local place and it's the best in the off-season. That's when the Ho is at its best. Great service, good drinks, and food. I wish it stayed open later. They close at 9pm every night...way too early in my opinion especially for a bar! Hopefully, they decide to stay open a bit longer in the winter months for the locals. read more

We did take out one summer at Kettle-Ho wanting to try the lobster roll but ended up being blown away by the stuffed quahog as the stand out dish. I've been coming to the Ho for almost 20 years now. There have been many changes in the faces behind the bar, but always good service. Tonight, was exceptionally good. Sam are bartender, was like family in less than a minute, and very attentive. when there was an issue with one dish it was handled smoothly, professionally. The owner , who also works the bar, checked on us to find out and address the food issue. Also, they have expanded on their craft beer offerings, to round out the generous menu and specials offerings. By all means, give them a try. You'll be back. read more

We had an excellent and very moderately priced seafood here. It was super crowded even in April, which tells me we probably won't be able to get near the place on a summer weekend, but I was happy to at least try it in the off-season. I had the fried shrimp and scallops (only $22), which was crispy and hot and perfectly cooked, and accompanied by some stellar onion rings and decent coleslaw. My husband had a perfectly cooked piece of lemony grilled swordfish. I very much appreciated the fact that I could get a decent glass of wine there as well, even though it is not the type of place I would expect to find that. We started with a pretty good shared bowl of clam chowder. We did not have any room for dessert. It was pretty noisy, but it's a sports bar, after all. I will be going earlier next time! read more

Since I have only had them once, it's tough to comment. They were a good value for seafood size pricing. A pop of flavor would keep it out of the neutral category. Personal seasoning was required. My wife and I decided for a change to go to the Kettle Ho tonight for a couple of drinks and dinner. We hadn't been in a while and now we know why. The food itself is just average pub food. No particular complaints about it but nothing special either. The attitude of management on the other hand is a different story. I think arrogance would be the best description. While we were sitting there at our 4 seat high top table we noticed a couple of old friends of ours standing nearby waiting for a bar seat but the bar was completely full and there was a waiting list. Since our entrees hadn't arrived yet we went over to them and offered to them to sit down with us at the two empty stools at our table and at least get a drink while they waited. And ...... waited. About 15-20 minutes later a waitress finally came by again and asked them if they wanted to order a drink. They did. I had to shout at her as she walked away for a refill on mine which she ignored but anyhow. About 5 minutes later the manager came over and told them that they could not sit there because there was a waiting list and they needed to keep things moving. They asked if they could have their drink there and were told no. Bear in mind they never told my wife and I that there was a time limit on the table when we got there but suddenly there was. We still hadn't gotten our entrees at this point. So naturally being upset they went up to speak to the manager privately and ultimately the manager simply told them that we don't need your business go ahead and leave. All of this was totally uncalled for. We were not being rude or difficult and let's face it's not like it is a fine dining restaurant at any rate They could have politely been told that you can have your drink there while you wait for a bar stool and until your friends leave instead of being treated like they had committed a crime. I will not go the the Kettle Ho ever again and will be sure to tell people of the embarrassing experience we just had there. It just isn't worth it. Oh yeah and the beer we ordered was flat. Best rib eye steak, perfectly cooked and tender. Waitress said their was only one dessert. A brownie with ice cream. It was huge and the ice cream was very smooth. It was enough for four people. Came here in late January with some friends, and we were disappointed to hear that they weren't serving their lobster rolls. We ended up splitting the Fisherman's Platter ($38), which comes with fried scallops, shrimp, clam, and scrod. The portions were generous and it was a good amount of food to share between three people. The fried scallops and shrimps were so tender, and the batter wasn't too heavy or greasy. The fried scrod was slightly bland. The restaurant itself has a dive bar feel and seems to be a popular joint for locals. Parking wasn't an issue for us at this time of year, but I could see it being difficult to find in the summertime. Will definitely have to come back when their lobster rolls are in season. read more

Have wanted to explore "The Ho" for years now and finally had the opportunity to do so this past Thursday solo. They post lunch and dinner specials pretty much everyday on their FB page and so I knew Thursday night was prime rib night and that's what I enjoyed as a dietary splurge along with a double helping of sautéed green beans. Both were excellent and at the best price for a flavorful 12 ounces of prime rib (I am guessing as to the weight) of any place I have been to or seen advertised on the Upper or Mid-Cape area. The place is adorable with all the charm of a college bar in a small town. I had to wait to be seated. There are probably as many seats at the long, curvy bar as there are seats at the tables. But they have a system for entering your name in a computer to be on the wait list. It's easier to get a solo seat at the bar than to get two at the bar or a table. But the wait wasn't long and it gave me a chance to notice that the place has a kind of "Cheers" quality to it where lots of people know the wait staff and seem to know each other. It made eating there, among so many friendly people, extremely comfortable even though I knew no one. Because I was at the bar I did order two adult beverages (looking for any excuse--lol)--bourbon highballs--which were quite strong and tasty. Shout out to Lisa, one of the ample number of friendly people working behind the bar, who brought me a container of delicious horseradish sauce to go along with the prime rib. Tip: parking on School Street in Cotuit can be a challenge, but there is a large bank parking lot about half a block down the street, west of The Ho which is suitable for parking after banking hours. Looking forward to having many more meals here in the future. read more
