I've been a few times now, always on weekdays, and it's been an excellent experience every single visit. The bartender--a bit of a cowboy character--has been spot-on with both drink and food recommendations. The chef deserves equal credit. Beyond that, the service is consistently friendly and genuine. Located in quaint Sandwich, it's a great destination to park, take a stroll, and enjoy the town. First time at The Seal this summer. Went for a drink and dinner before another event downtown. My friend and I sat at the bar and shared a few sushi rolls. Great sushi at a reasonable price and good to know that I can come here when craving it. The bartender was helpful and attentive. We were celebrating my daughters birthday . Drinks were fabulous! Food took over and hour and a half and came out cold. Staff didn't bother to tell us until after an hour of taking food order that they were JUST getting started and it would be a bit longer!!! Food came out cold! We had to ask for to go boxes. While only some of oir food came out 2 hours in!! The staff handled this absolutely horrendous! If you cant accommodate parties over 4 then dont take them! We left with no food and we're charged $400! Ordered pizza on the way home!! read more

Anyone else hate when the prices on the website menu are substantially lower than the prices when you're actually in the restaurant? I'm not talking photos of the menu posted on social media. I'm talking the actual website of the restaurant, an hour before going to restaurant. Specific drinks that said $12 on the menu were $14 when you come into the restaurant. I don't know what's worse- the fact that restaurants are not updating their websites or the fact that they are raising prices at such a fast rate that they can't seem to keep up with it! I will say I'm sick of it! And this place was another instance of this new very ugly age of greed we're currently living in, so will not be going back! read more

Service was great. Sushi rice TERRIBLE. Honestly worse than gas station sushi. Rice was pasty. Flavors terrible. Piano player nothing short of depressing. A miss. Needs some fixing. Saturday night and crowd was light. If better food, this place would be a hit. Time to fire the sushi chef or develop a new concept. And tell the piano player to make it happier. read more

Funny what great little places you come across while out for an evening stroll. Stopped in to The Seal for after dinner drinks and dessert and we were pleasantly surprised to find great atmosphere, artisan styled cocktails and a wonderfully decadent dessert! We returned to the Seal after an excellent experience earlier this summer. It's a unique spot, more of a contemporary urban feel vs a typical Cape restaurant. The food was again delicious , the cocktails very creative, had a great espresso martini. Would recommend going on Saturday night when they have an outstanding piano player adding to the great vibe. I'm visiting Sandwich for the first time. There are several dining options here and I was intrigued by The Seal in particular. From the outside it looks contemporary and fresh. But these reviews.. So we take a chance and end up having a genuinely lovely time. I understand now that those reviews were written by people who don't want to share this gem with you. And I don't blame them. The food was good. But it took an hour/hour and 15. Worst meal on cape cod so far. It took an hour to get food. Waiter blamed a new chef, and apologized for all the staff, but we didn't hear shit from the waiter the whole time. Nothing comped, not complimentary beverage for the excessive wait. No visit from anyone in a managerial capacity. Such a shame as the food was good. We tipped 5 bucks on 140 but really shouldn't have tipped at all. Right in downtown Sandwich Cape Cod. Great space for this restaurant to be located. Street parking can be a little challenging during peak months of summer. One drawback and I might be too old but it is the high level of noise due to the high ceilings and no acoustic decreasing materials. The staff from the bartenders to the waitstaff of the tables is friendly, helpful and monitoring the needs of the patrons. The speciality drinks are unique and delicious! They expand your palate from sweet to savory and earthy notes. Onto the food menu. The charcuterie board is flavorful of some local cheeses and meats. Ask if they have specials they might surprise your eclectic taste buds. I usually list and describe our entrees but I think you should explore your foodie desires. read more

Visited for the first time a few weeks ago, on a Saturday night, about 5:30. It was a small group of us, we were sat immediately but it filled up right away. The inside was beautiful, the art on the walls was tasteful and also made for some great talking points! The waitress (who was incredible the entire time!!) came to us right away and took our drink and appetizer orders, both of which came out very quickly. I don't have a single complaint about anything that landed on our table. The flatbread, the charcuterie, the oysters, the Mezze board, and every drink were beyond delightful and a pleasure to enjoy. Our meals took a quite a bit of time to come out, but we were fine, it looked like there was just the one waitress and the place was full! And when they did come out, it was worth the wait. Each dish we had ordered was plated beautifully and very thoughtfully crafted. Everything we had was delicious to the last bite. I don't come to this area regularly but should I be back, I would love to enjoy another meal here. read more

A hidden gem. A la cart plates. The menu has improved over time. The Asian ribs are very good. The bbq sauce makes it. The fresh salads, and deconstructed California rolls are all a must. Tacos and more. But one thing you must try is their homemade fresh cucumber cosmo martini. I was hesitant at first, but now everyone I bring in, just loves it! They use fresh cucumber that is puréed and juiced. Fresh and clean. read more

Had dinner at the Seal last Fall and we loved it and looked forward to returning. The honeymoon's over, unfortunately. I ordered a spicy margarita; got a regular margarita with a Grand Marnier topper, which I didn't ask for and it's an additional $3.00 charge. The drink was good though, so I didn't send it back. Plus, the bartender was friendly and I didn't want to give her a hard time because she was busy. Ordered edamame- half of them were frozen. Ordered a Budda bowl- the tofu was cold. The ribs for an appetizer were tasty but verging on cold as well. The entire experience was......mediocre. We won't return any time soon. read more

The drinks and ambiance are great! However, the bartender was soooo rude. He was extremely unhelpful and annoyed when we ordered our drinks. He didn't tell us when it was last call and then wouldn't let us order another round when he allowed the table next to us to order another round 10 minutes later. OMG, finally something to write home about. As a foodie, the town of Sandwich really needed this restaurant. The SEAL gives you the 'city' experience: small plates, great bar, modern-airy milieu. I enjoyed the Dirty Martini, Spring roll w/ x-large shrimp buried amongst the freshest of greens, then a Bruschetta with so many flavors and textures on toasted crostini I cannot begin to describe. So happy to have a new favorite restaurant around the corner from my home. See you soon Chef!! read more
