So there is nothing wrong with the food at this restaurant and most of the staff however the upper management and owner need to be nicer and greatfull for all the business the local people give you . Best oysters I've ever had, lots of brine, super cold and freshly shucked to order by the owner right in front of me. The lighting at the bar is dim and sexy. raw oysters on the halfshell are as fresh as you will find anywhere. Always get some of what looks best (briny). Shrimp Mozambique is a meal disguised as a small plate. with oysters (see note above) works as full meal. I personally like the seafood cobb salad, again a full meal. Lastly, if they still have it on the menu, the schnitzel is a real surprise and delicious. we eat here very frequently and cannot figure out the 4 star Yelp rating. We have been in this area for decades and never visited this small restaurant until recently. It has a few small tables so plan to head to the bar. Everyone is prepared to engage in light conversation. The name should say it all.. but they are as well skilled in fish dishes. The mahi mahi was blacked with broccoli rabbis. Yacca and papaya. This little restaurant shack gave my family and I the best meal of vacation, with classic cape cod seafood taken up a notch. We started with cocktails, my personal favorite being the key lime pie frozen rum drink. My mom wanted oysters but didn't know much about the varieties, so our waiter picked out a delicious assortment for her. I enjoyed the "mostly crab cake" and my friend loved her seafood bisque. For dinner, we got truffle lobster rolls and a butter poached crab roll. The meat was so fresh and rich; I'm picky about crab and thought it was amazing! The truffle lobster roll was especially decadent. I'm still a little nervous about indoor dining, and forgot to specify that I wanted an outdoor table when I made my reservation. Three different oyster in half shell were clean and fresh. Loved the special vinegar with extra spices and onion. Will try the lightly fried oysters next time. Everything salmon was fresh, well spiced and great veggies. The lobster bisque in bread bowl was delicious. Bread was crisp and fresh. Atmosphere is super cozy and casual with outside and patio seating. Nice drink menu- I enjoyed a crisp glass of white and a freshly squeezed Paloma/mint drink. Oysters are some the best I've had- so fresh and flavorful. My miso cod was outstanding- great flavors, fresh, tender. We also ordered the chicken teriyaki bowl, and scallops- all delicious. Service was friendly and we didn't feel rushed. Had to take one star away as portion of my cod was extremely small for a $40 dish and overall the entrees are definitely pricey. ($40 average). I dined solo last night (Wednesday) at Epic Oyster (70 Country Rd, North Falmouth) as this place has been on my "must try" list for a while. Since the place is small I made a reservation for 5:45 and there were plenty of seats available at the long bar when I arrived, so I took one. Epic Oyster has a heated outdoor patio, a small side dining area and the bar, so make a reservation (easy to do on their website) especially if going on a Friday or Saturday. I would describe it as charming. I was impressed with the creativity of the menu (quite a few daily specials) as well as with their well-curated selection of wines by the glass, innovative cocktails, and mocktails. I started with a cocktail and eventually moved on to a glass of white wine. The vibe at the bar is somewhat reminiscent of a traditional oyster bar in New Orleans minus the crowds and the noise, at least that was the case last night. The multiple bartenders were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. I started with a classic, the Oysters Rockefeller. Large, plump oysters, baked well with the traditional toppings (perhaps a tad too much spinach). As good as Antoine's in the Quarter? No, probably not, but mighty close. Very tasty. Next, I wanted fresh raw oysters and even though they ranged in price from $3.50 to $3.75 I ordered six--three Megansett (from N. Falmouth) and three Truro Pearls (which I had never eaten before). These were fabulous and exactly as described in terms of their taste profile on the menu. While I had come in to have their miso black cod dish--which I had seen on a number of the menus for Epic available online--there was no black cod available. On the recommendation of the bartender I ordered the pork schnitzel instead which came with a delicate beurre blanc sauce, flavorful white rice, and charred broccolini. [This was on the daily special side of the menu where there were other attractive options as well.] The pork was crisp on the outside as it should be, but still moist and tender on the inside, no need for a knife to cut into this. A really well-balanced, flavorful, and attractively presented dish. A comfortable, relaxing, and tasty meal, definitely worthy of a return visit. read more

I was happy my sister and I were able to eat some local oysters on our trip to Cape Cod despite Covid 19. There was a nice and intimate outdoor seating area. Despite not having a reservation we were seated by the sweetest hostess named Janice. Who was chopped full of adventurous stories. I don't remember my waiters name, he was a man of few words but was still polite and responsive. To eat my sister and I got a lobster and Crab roll to share along with a variety of 10 oysters. Everything was very fresh and delicious. The oysters tasted like they were just picked out of the sea and all had a very unique flavor profile. The all the the crab roll was filled with sweet plump crab meat it pales in comparison to the Lobster. Eating at Epic Oyster was a great start to our trip in Cape Cod. read more

They have drastically changed their menu. They used to have some outstanding apps that frankly were hard to find elsewhere. Not sure why, but they no longer have crab legs, lump crab, lobster rolls, crab rolls, seafood towers etc etc. They also used to have 8 or so varieties of Oysters, there were only 3 when I went. The new menu and the food is fine, just not as special as it used to be. Honestly I wish they would post their menu online because I would have known what I was getting into. Ate here shortly after it opened a few years ago (perhaps 4). Three of us hate oysters and martinis at the bar and was OK as it had just opened. Six of us went back 2 years ago and what a surprise. Place was "slammed". Had reservations but we ended up sitting at classic wood picnic table with slat bench outside. Ordered martinis, wine and we all had full dinner selections. Tab w/tip $480. I told my guests I'd never come back: WHY? After 2+ hours, sitting on backless picnic bench is not comfortable. Also not accustomed to having a martini out of a plastic cup, eating a good dinner out of take out foam container, and drinking wine out of plastic cup: all for a tab a bit under $500. This business gets a 1 star because the food is decent ,but the customer service is beyond horrible. My husband refused to go here because he thought the owner was so rude. We moved closer and i convinced him to give It another try. i went to get take out night. Mind you the phone does not work so I drove there to order 3 appetizers and they said no take out while they are busy. Meanwhile It is tiny and I can see many empty tables and when i was leaving saw 2 men leaving with take out bags. SERIOUSLY! What has happened to customer service. Certainly none here. This is a small town and my friends have experienced the same thing. If people react to being treated badly ,maybe the tune would change here. Without customers wherein is your business. We came here after hearing good things from multiple people. Got here around 7:30. We put our names down and were told it would be a 30 minute wait. We ended up waiting only about 15 minutes, so we were happy. We were sat outside. It is much nicer and quieter outside and there is more room. Make sure they light the Citronella candles for you though, or you'll be attacked by mosquitoes. They took a long time to take our order. It took longer to order than our 15 minute wait for the table. It was almost 9 before we got our food. They forgot about our bread and ended up bringing it with our meal. The cinnamon sugar butter was so yummy. I got the linguine and clams. It had a pretty good sauce, but the peppers made it a little spicy. The portion was not so large, so I was still hungry eating my meal. My girlfriend got the fisherman's stew, which had a much tastier broth. I loved her calamari too. I wish I had gotten what she got. That happens a lot. We asked for the check, and it took so long to get it that we had to go in and ask for it again after waiting ten minutes. We found out that they mixed up our table with the table next to us and were trying to figure things out. We reasoned that the other table must have gotten away without paying for a bunch of stuff because of the mix up. So, we finally got out of there round 9:30, nearly two hours after we arrived. Perhaps they need a bigger kitchen, more workers, or better training. They seem to have more tables than they can reasonably accommodate. Having so many tables may help their profit margin in the short term, but the negative impact it has on their service will lead to few returning customers. read more

This place is FANTASTIC! Was lucky to get right in on a weeknight. Place was busy and my party of two got there at the perfect time when a call ahead hadn't arrived yet opening the door to be seated. Order a trio of megansett oysters a friend of mine I actually went to college with farms. Epic Oyster prides itself on huge oyster selection and you have a menu complete with the area they are from, who harvested them and the characteristics of those oysters which was on point! I was committed to ordering seafood when I saw the short rib small plate offering go by. It was HUGE and looked great and I had to order it. My wife ordered the chimichurri strip steak medium rare. The steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned and the chimichurri sauce was fresh and vibrant. My short rib was huge for something on the small plate menu and absolutely delicious as well as presented gorgeously. It was all so tasty. Service was friendly and knowledgeable and the meal was out in a flash and all executed perfectly. The menu was huge and we can't wait to go back! Side note: the table behind us who had a stuffed quahog actually ordered a second once their main course arrived because the gentlemen said it was the best he ever had.
