The Dancing Eel & the Golden Monkey

The shushi was well made and came out pretty quickly all things considered. I would recommend it certainly worth a try

My best friend lives in this area, I come to visit her once a year and this trip she recommended that we come to this place. I didn't have any drinks this evening, but my friend and her husband shared a drink. I can't remember the name of but it's large enough for two people and comes out flaming. Very unique. It's like a rum punch. For food We started with sushi as an appetizer. We got the spicy girl roll and the hot babe roll I believe. The sushi was good. Nothing crazy, but the fish was fresh, and I appreciated that I felt like the textures could have been balanced a little more, the rolls were a little mushy to me. For my entrée I got the pineapple chicken fried rice, but it was also just OK to me. It felt like the flavors weren't really exploding and there wasn't anything mixed into the rice to give it any depth. No egg or peas or carrots or onion or garlic just rice very little flavor. It was not really doing what it needed to do. My friend and her husband share the hibachi for two with the steak, chicken and salmon. They said that they had salmon in the past from there that they weren't happy with so they were reluctant getting it but this time they said the salmon was the best protein on their dish. They really liked it. The staff was nice the place felt clean. It wasn't too cold or hot and it was very busy so I'm sure it's popular in the local community. i probably would be looking to try something different if i end up back here. Thanks!

Spicy Crab Crunch Roll Shrimp Tempura Roll

Ordered from Saga via grubhub. They have the best reviews of all the local spots on the app and they did not disappoint. I only liked cooked rolls and they have tons of options. I did the 3 roll lunch special, I thought it was a good deal even before I realized it came with a salad and a soup! I also got the crab Rangoon (money bags) very small portion for the price. Only comes with 4, they tasted good, nothing special to justify the price. 4 instead of 5 stars because I really wish they included a list of ingredients for each roll. I couldn't find this even on their website. I know some rolls are standard and the expectation is that ppl will know what they are but it would be so nice to not have to google each individual roll.

Chicken Katsu

The restaurant itself was nice--it was clean and well lit, which I look for in sushi places so I can see the quality of the food. The staff were very kind and efficient, and super friendly to everyone there! The best part was the food though, the portions were HUGE, and I have to admit when I was served I was worried that meant the quality would be poor. But it was AMAZING. I am from Boston, where chicken katsu and a eel roll would be pushing forty dollars, and the portion sizes, quality, and price were so much better here. Highly recommend!!!

Chirashi Lunch*

BEST VALUE JAPANESE TAKEOUT AT THE CAPE!!! I ordered through doordash during weekday work lunch. The food was prepped fairly quickly and they have an excellent value lunch menu. WHAT I ORDERED Salmon teriyaki combo $20 (doordash) (takeout) Chirashi lunch combo $20 3 rolls sushi combo $17 Sashimi combo $18 Chicken tempura combo $18 Combo rice lunch comes w salad, miso soup, California rolls & 3 Pc shumai It was a very good value with lots of food!! We ordered at saga fusion 3x during our 2 weeks stay. Seafood was fresh and meat was cooked very tender and delicious. Each takeout order comes with a black trustable tote bag. I think frequent diners brings the tote back when they dine at the restaurant to get takeouts. It's a great way to reduce plastics and use reusable totes! Thanks for saving the environment.

Well hello, my Mai Tai is waiting for me. Refreshing and delicious.

I've waited a day to review because I want to be fair. I had read the mixed reviews and as I…read moreconsider reviews of myself and those I sat next to I definitely see why reviews are so mixed because even we received different experiences! So to start I must say that macadamia encrusted salmon was phenomenal and in it alone 5 stars easily! Absolutely delicious! I'm serious! INCREDIBLe in taste - portion - presentation! The bread appetizer is highly critiqued for being a purchased item at an Italian restaurant, but the dipping oils with garlic and roasted pepper never comes with free bread apps that I've seen so again easy five stars!!! I'll add pics - it's impressive! Then, what else to review - it's our 34th wedding anniversary and we're not high maintenance so when we book and we're asked about occasion, but never celebrated I'm ok with that, but why ask then? We don't typically order dessert, but 34 years seemed like we should so we got carrot cake and it was great. With the big portions they serve not necessary, but if you're a dessert person go for it! When we scheduled reservation the restaurant was full, so we booked bar seating and loved the vibe sitting next to locals watching Red Sox play. Everyone was friendly and gave great suggestions for us for remainder of our stay. All of that said I must give the place a five with all those low reviews, but in true transparency what wasn't a five: When we arrived on time for reservation the sweet hostess apologized it would be a little while. We were seated approx 15 min later at the bar that had about 9 seats open, and four bar workers in and out yet 15 minutes would go by before anyone acknowledged us. Yet, one bartender who seemingly was in charge of restaurant alcohol orders was bantering with a male patron and explained him across the way how the chef/owner is done and looking to sale if he can find right buyer. Eventually an Italian speaking bartender gave us menus and apologized she was behind. We eventually ordered drinks and much later lobster ravioli we had heard raves about (but now an hour in and told sold out) but drinks good and we pivoted to Marsala and salmon, but a party of four was brought in to the bar and seated with empty dishes and glasses from previous patrons which seemed odd. Another waitress came by from restaurant and extremely short almost chastising the hostess and another waitress gave me an apologetic look as we both recognized I didn't need to hear that. Food took awhile but we're on vacation and enjoyed the atmosphere. I have zero regrets eating here and loved loved loved my meal, the historic building, sweet bartender (who needed some support or busier as the bar filled fast), and vibe of that bar surrounded by locals, and I'm from Utah only here for a weekend so that says a lot.

We ordered clams casino (small with little flavor), they were out of calamari (what??!!) so we went with oysters Rockefeller (also small And tasteless). Not only was the veal Parmesan the worst I have ever had. I wasn't sure they actually used veal. It was astounding how they got so much breading on it! Lastly, tiramisu (just okay) and the worst bananas foster ever. Served with some kind of banana bread, a tiny scoop of ice cream and none of the classic flavors one expects. And for all that (plus 4 other meals not worthy of reviewing) for the bargain price of $348 plus tip. For a over $400 dinner there are too many restaurants to try - just not this one.

I have had this herb crusted haddock with crispy potatoes, heirloom tomatoes and caper berries before and very much enjoyed it. We went in on a Saturday at 12:30 for my hubby's birthday and the charming bistro restaurant was filling up. I ordered my haddock and was so sorely disappointed. The haddock was hot but lacked any perceivable flavor of any herb at all. The parsley oil was certainly green but the parsley flavor was imperceptible. The haricots were too al dente as if not cooked at all and cold. The rest of the meal was not cold but not warm/hot either. Plus, my favorite part of the dish, the caper berries were missing. I say the berries were missing although there was one slice of a caper berry at the very end of my piece of haddock (see photo), so technically it had caper berry on it. Man, was that disappointing. Had we not been there for a special occasion, and since my husband was thoroughly enjoying his meal and the server was "deep in the woods" I did not send it back. My error I know, but there it is. Will I go back? Yes. My review here was strictly for the dish itself. Will I order this again, probably not but there are many other things that they serve there that are quite delicious. A swing and a miss this time but usually a winner.

Although there was a short wait to be seated, it was less than three minutes, and we were quickly shown to a cozy corner table tucked away from the pub and the main dining area. Our waitress greeted us warmly and took our drink orders. I ordered a Blue Moon, while my wife tried their version of a margarita. The beer was enjoyable, but my wife was not a fan of her drink, as it lacked the traditional margarita flavor she was expecting. For dinner, I decided to try something new and ordered the traditional Reuben sandwich. The bread was nicely grilled, and although I am not usually a fan of pickled vegetables, the sauerkraut was actually quite good. Overall, the sandwich was enjoyable, though I felt it could have used a bit more corned beef. My wife ordered the chicken fajitas, but unfortunately, they were disappointing. The chicken was dry, and the dish overall missed the mark. As we were leaving, her final comment summed up the experience: "We probably would have had a better meal at the 99." While parts of the meal were enjoyable, the overall experience did not quite live up to our expectations after such a long time away.
