Barely edible. If it was any worse I would have thrown it away. I got Garlic Chicken, Egg Roll and Pork Fried Rice. This was in the form of a dinner combination plate: choose one entree from the list, one appetizer, and either fried or white rice. The fact that they offer the combination plate in the evening is the only positive thing I can say about the place. Most Chinese restaurants only have combination plates during the lunch hours if at all. The egg roll was greasy inside and there wasn't much more than cabbage in it. Crunchy wrapper but bland and boring overall. The fried rice was also greasy, the rice was hard, and it had hardly any vegetables and almost no pork. The garlic chicken had no garlic taste whatsoever - or any other seasoning other than soy sauce for that matter - and the vegetables were soggy and overcooked. 0 for 3. Last night in Chatham, so thought we'd make it easy and get take-out. On the plus side, very convenient, friendly and large portions. The egg rolls were huge. The Orange Chicken was actually really good, and not too spicy for our daughter. We got the "Amazing" chicken, with chicken breast, snow peas, green pepper, carrot, mushroom and water chestnuts in a spicy sweet sauce. It was all right, but not "amazing." I've had consistently good take out from Asian Paradise. I was skeptical after reading some reviews but have to say, it's been nothing but good when I order it. Last night was no exception. I was very happily surprised to see a new menu item that I tried and LOVED! As a vegetarian it's sometimes not easy to order Chinese take out, it can be over fried, bland, just a pile of veggies in an odd sauce. I found General Tso's Tofu & while it's fried & probably not terribly healthy, it was DELICIOUS! Also ordered meatless friend rice and the combo was great! Best Orange chicken I ever had. Made with real ingredients no MSG or fake stuff. Also the wantons are correct nice thin dough, nice broth, meat filling has actual flavor unlike most places. Even the chop sticks are better than average. I just moved here but this will now be a staple for me. The Good Things They are the only Chinese Restaurant in Chatham Its easy to find, in a Main Street shopping plaza where parking is a snap. They have a HUGE menu with 16 appetizers and hundreds of choices including the rarely seen Sha Cha (Spicy Tea Sauce) style of foods. My Shrimp Curry was LOADED with shrimp -between ten and twelve of them. I should have counted before I started chomping away. :) The Not So Good Things My Hot and Sour Soup (small for $2.80 and Curry Shrimp ($11.95) were both disappointing. The soup was bland, flavorless, and slightly gelatinous with not a shred of meat. I order H&S Soup just about every time I can, and sadly, this was one of the worst versions I ever had. My Shrimp Curry was a bland flavorless dish heavy on green peppers and onions. The curry sauce was a zero in the flavor department. But in all fairness, it did come LOADED with shrimp. A bolder flavored sauce and maybe less boring green peppers would have really distinguished the dish. read more

Every dish we ordered was sweetened as if the chef thought that would appeal. Teriyaki, wontons, dumplings, and spring rolls were sweet. The hot and sour soup was gelatinous and not much flavor. I'm visiting Chatham and decided to order in Chinese food. The portions were large and for takeaway Chinese food it was pretty good. It's not Mott Street in NY City. This place is fantastic. Have been coming to the Cape for decades but never tried it until this trip. Was recommended by a friend. Some of the very best Chinese food I've ever had. Beef and Broccoli and Kung Pao were fantastic--as good as Boston, NYC or San Francisco. If you are driving on Rt. 28, don't blink or you'll miss it. But definitely try it. read more

I promised my kids Chinese food so we went here during Xmas break. Great for a quick bite, big portions and inexpensive. The sauces were very thick (cornstarch) and lots of it. Chow Mein was just cabbage, bean sprouts and slivered chicken with goey sauce. Heated up the next day it was a little better. But then again what do you expect on the Cape? Not a restaurant, it's a take-out place with two tables in the front corners. In an old strip mall in Chatham. The air hangs heavy with grease and oil. The staff is friendly and very helpful with allergy constraints. The food was really good. Scallion pancakes crispy, chicken soup yummy, other dishes light and tasty. Only complaint the chicken in the dishes was a tad chewy, but it was fresh and delicious, and not expensive. My daughter says to definitely go back. read more

We got take out from here last night, and have been here in the past a few times as well. It's the only Chinese available in Chatham. It has a very convenient location and is easy to grab some dinner on the way home after a long day at Hardings Beach. Menu is expansive, Prices are very reasonable and portions are huge! Service is very fast too. Only issue is the general lack of flavor in all four meals we tried. Just basic, bland cuisine. But certainly edible fare. ...you could do worse. read more

"You can't eat Chinese food at the beach!" my wife exclaimed insistently. She had the same retort every year when I reached the point--sick of eating fish after several days straight--that I begged to go to a different kind of restaurant for dinner. I never understood her point of view in this debate, especially because she's--usually--so logical. Apparently, if you are on Cape Cod, you can only eat cod or one of its piscine relations, in her conception. I thought I had the perfect rejoinder: "What do you think Chinese people eat at the beach?" But my entreaties virtually always went for naught, all the more so after she yielded once several years ago and we wound up eating nondescript Chinese food served by lackadaisical waiters in a forsaken dining room along Rt. 28 in Dennis that I am hopeful is no longer there. But this summer, I had a secret plan. As usual, our daughter, now 23-years-old, joined us on our trip to the Cape, pleasing me to no end that she was still willing to hang out with Mom and Dad. But she announced in advance that she'd be ditching us in the middle of our vacation for a three-day adventure farther north, in the process commandeering our car and leaving us beach-bound, which in principle was fine by us. At the end of our first car-less day, I gallantly suggested to my wife that we Uber to a nearby restaurant--fish, of course. But as I'd suspected, worn out by a strenuous day of reading and napping on the beach, interrupted only by searching for sea glass and briefly romping in the break of the waves against the shore, we decided to call for delivery. And that's how we wound up ordering from Asian Paradise in Chatham, one of the few delivery options in the area. I got General Tso's tofu, mainly because it was one of the few vegetarian options that was labeled as "hot & spicy," which is how I like it. Frankly, I'm not sure I've ever had General Tso's anything before, and its presentation made me wonder whether they really eat it in China or whether it's one of those made-up Americanized Chinese restaurant things. I sure don't remember seeing anything like it during our two trips to China, where the food was consistently fresh, flavorful, and free of the orangey looking glop that encrusted my dish. But, boy, the General Tso's tofu from Asian Paradise sure was good! The sauce was indeed fiery, like I wanted it, and although it looked like glop, it didn't have the excessively sugary flavoring that often accompanies such coatings. The whole dish was a success, with just two minor shortcomings, neither of which significantly marred the meal. Like any self-respecting, slightly upscale suburbanite, I'd wanted to order brown rice instead of white, but I saw no hint of it on the menu. I suppose I could have asked, but communication was tricky enough with our cell service fading in and out at the shore, and it really didn't seem worth the effort. And then there was the broccoli. I'd never even eaten the stuff in my life till our first trip to China, more than two decades ago, when I discovered the crisp, crunchy florets. Since then I've loved them! But there they were, a few water-logged pieces of the vegetable floating aimlessly in the coagulating orange sauce that was pooling on the bottom of the plastic container. They reminded me of nothing more than a few lonely strands of seagrass, floating upside down where the waves break on the wet sand, so I left them to drift away. And my wife's Vegetarian Delight? She pronounced it "good" without a second's hesitation, seemingly almost surprising herself a little in the process. Would she order from Asian Paradise again next year? "Absolutely," she replied, without a hint of reservation. She even ate her broccoli! read more

This is the best and only option for Chinese food in Chatham. Price is reasonable for the amount of food you receive. Only takes 10-15 minutes for orders to be picked up. I frequently buy the luncheon special of General Tso chicken, pork fried rice, and bonless spareribs for under $8. I usually cannot finish eating the entire meal in one sitting which gives me two meals! The General Tso's chicken is pretty good. Sometimes it can be a bit mushy, but with good flavor and other times it is really on point. Last night we ordered it and it was great, as was the vegetable lo mein. I have been picking at both all day and they taste great even cold. I have gotten the vegetable lo mein a few times before and it's kind of hit or miss with that as well. I don't know if they have two different cooks working or what. The crab rangoons are delicious, probably some of the best I've had. We've driven by this place for years, but only recently decided to try it. The spring rolls are superb. You get a lot of good Chinese food for the price. Our only disappointment was the Pad Thai, but everything else was terrific. We brought an $80 order home to accompany a football game for four adults. There were six of us that ate - we did take-out, did not consider eating there since it would not accomodate us. We were pleasantly suprised, being that the appearance from the outside as well as the inside is not very attractive. Employees were very friendly, cook came from the back to say "hello". Portions are considerably generous and the fried rice was lighter, not the dark heavy kind. Chicken fingers & wings were cooked just right, as was the beef teriyaki and beef and broccoli. If you're reading this it's probably because you are in Chatham and thinking about Chinese. Asian Paradise on Main St. in West Chatham is the only Chinese food restaurant in town so it's a case of convenience taking precedence over any kind of gourmet Chinese food restaurant you might have gone to near home or other places on the Cape--especially because Asian Paradise is strictly take-out (except for a couple of very small tables.) It seems to be family-run and they are eager to please. Just your typical Chinese food, but the portions on the dinner combos are VERY generous! For $8.65, there is enough of the entree, good pork-fried rice and an appetizer (most are 2/4 pieces) to split between 2 people and feel you've satisfied that Chinese food craving. Add an extra appetizer (the spring rolls are especially good!) if you want a little more variety and you're still around the price of a pizza. And you could be eating it at Hardings Beach in a minute (just bring your own utensils)! read more
