Another amazing visit to the Wild Goose Tavern. While on the cape with my friend I knew a stopping Chatham would not be complete without a visit to the goose. We enjoyed a cool meal inside that was made warm with some yummy Brussels with a spicy aioli. Prosciutto flatbread and some hummus and I was a happy camper. Our server Dame was very attentive and we appreciated his bright smile. Always a great meal at the goose!

We made a reservation here during our visit to Chatham, and we enjoyed sitting outside on their patio and people watching on the road. The inside looked very cute though - would have enjoyed seeing the ambiance in there as well! We started with wines and soup - the French onion was delightful, and the clam chowder was good as well. We each ordered cod - me the baked cod, and my friend the fish and chips. Both were good, filling meals, nothing extra special but definitely did the job. Next time I think we'd try the Chatham Squire, but this was a nice spot for a meal on a summer evening.

Large indoor and outdoor spaces, happy faces on the patrons... Half dozen beers on tap, high hopes for a nice light lunch and we were not disappointed. Kind and efficient, hard working staff. Would definitely return when we are in the area.

Our server Mia was absolutely phenomenal. Made sure we had plenty to eat while the kitchen was backed up. Very respectful and just a wonderful attitude! Hostess Caroline was also so sweet. Great vibes and food overall. Only downside was the kitchen taking a bit otherwise than that would recommend!

mixed feelings on the wild goose tavern... I took a chance with the reviews saying the food was good but service was lack luster.. I definitely agree. I got the French onion soup that was awesome, and the Brie and fig flatbread which was pretty good too I sat outside and there were some other tables sat there too. We all waited awhile for the waiter to stop by throughout our meals... nice gentleman but definitely was hard to catch.

I never leave reviews but this is hands down one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. We sat down at 6:45 and got our entrees at 8:15. I ordered the New York strip and you're better off burning $48. I asked for medium rare and it came out like a brick. After waiting 1 hr and 15 minutes for our entrees two of the orders were wrong and we had to send them back. Another 20 minutes. Waiter or managemnet never came over to apologize or offer a discount. Will never come back here.

A nice place to stop on Main Street, with outdoor seating as well as very spacious indoor seating. We happened to wander in at a good time and were able to get a table for 7. Decent selection of local and other beers, and the service was efficient and helpful. Lots of votes for the calamari and the coconut shrimp. The lobster roll was pricey (as they are everywhere on the island), but it was well received. Fish and chips were a little greasy, but tasty. The lobster quesadilla was more like stacked tostadas but the crema and the filling were excellent. Small-ish bar if you want to sit and have a drink.

After walking into the Squire after a shop owner told us it was "cute" in there, we quickly left and came to this beautiful restaurant for lunch. The Squire was a total dump. Moving on, we sat at the bar here and the bartender was very nice. Amazing Bloody Mary. Excellent chicken sandwich. Came on toasted cranberry bread with Brie and arugula and cranberry mayo. Delicious. Excellent fries with Cajun seasoning. Just the right amount of crisp. Very nice place. Boyfriend got the fish tacos. He was happy with the amount of fish in his and loved the fries as well.

We are currently staying at the Inn attached to the restaurant. We arrived on time and we're greeted promptly and seated by the lovely hostess. Our waiter came over quickly and took our drink order. Juan Carlos was a very attentive and kind waiter. My husband got the fried clams and I got baked cod. Both were fantastic! My cod was cooked perfectly and the veggies on the side were well seasoned and delicious. We both got a cocktail (or two!) and the drinks were strong and tasty. One of the best French 75's I've ever had. The decor was old cape cod style, and the vibe was laid back and not too touristy. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean and well maintained. We will definitely be back.

Service was 5/5 Ambiance was 4/5 Food was a mixed bag Drinks were 5/5 Service was quick. Our waiter was friendly and professional. We had a larger party (9 people) which can be difficult to manage! We were seated instead in what seemed to be a large hallway/room that connected a larger banquet-type area and the bar/main restaurant. Drinks were stellar! Food as mention was mixed... the lobster bisque was the best we've ever had, and the lobster BLT was delicious! The calamari was cold, and the short rib was chunks of beef (we expected more of a pulled pork texture). We would return, likely for apps and drinks instead.

Tourist trap. Horrible tasteless food. Insanely slow service. Couldn't have had a worst meal.

I try to find positive things to say when I write reviews, so I will say that the crab cake was the best thing we ordered. It was crispy on the outside and had a good crab flavor. After that, everything was sad. Including us. Disclaimer: I am from the west coast. It seems like this is an east coast favorite? Or did we just get bad food that day? Chowder was more like a watery soup. Not at all creamy. Had lots of potatoes, making it more like potato soup. Clams in it were ok but the flavor was bland. DIdn't finish. Much preferred the rich taste of the bowl we had in Nantucket, for about the same price. Lobster meat in the roll was tough and disappointing especially after paying so much for it. I eat a lot of lobster rolls and had one the day before in Nantucket that was superb. This was too chewy and not very warm. Didn't finish. Fried clams were not at all what I was expecting, but maybe this is an east/west coast thing again. Very chewy and the breading was very light and not very crisp like you get on the west coast. Didn't finish. French fries were ok but nothing special. Bland. After reading all my Ellen Hilderbrand books we were really looking forward to experiencing Mac's. The hype for this place and strong reviews make me think it's a coastal preference, but for our group of 3 west coast visitors, it was not at all what we expected or were hoping for, especially given the prices.

I told my wife that I was going to the first restaurant I see.....which happened to be The Captain's Table.....which happened to be A GREAT FIND! This is a family owned restaurant. Our waiter, Steve, happens to be the son of the owners. He cooks, does dishes, buses tables and serves as a charismatic waiter. His dedication to his trade shines through. Now, they serve breakfast all day. If you're like me, 24 hour/day breakfast is a big sell. I had the 2-meat breakfast burrito which might very well have been THE best burrito I've ever had. They make their Bloody Mary mix and they are delicious. PLUS, the prices were reasonable (for Chatham, that is). They have both indoor and outdoor seating but just about everybody there chose the outdoor patio like us. The menu offered both breakfast and lunch items as well as some specials. I went with the Cajun grilled swordfish sandwich and it was delicious. It came with a small bag of Lay's potato chips as a side. French fries, Cole slaw or any other side would have made it better. My husband had the fish and chips, along with cole slaw. He also enjoyed his food.
