    Bland, unseasoned chicken lo mein
    Miranda L.

Very disappointed in the food here while vacationing esp seeing it has (an undeserving) 4-star rating. We ordered 2 dinner combos (chicken with broccoli, general tso) and chicken lo mein. Chicken with broccoli portion was about 1/4 of the container, where was the rest of the food? I asked for extra brown sauce, it did not happen. General tso- only reason this place is getting a star. Chicken lo mein- was NOT seasoned. Very bland. No seasoning or salt and 95% noodle to fill the larger take out container. Not sure if this was a 1x thing or if that's how they usually serve this but I also don't know what's worse. The worst part was the dinner combos came w a bunch of fried apps, one of which was "chicken nuggets" and it was a cheaply battered piece of chicken breast. The NERVE to call this a chicken nugget is insulting. Pics included, I cant make this shit up.

Masked crowd waiting for their Christmas Eve Chinese food take out orders
    Adam S.

Covid era review: this small take out only shop did a fantastic job on an incredibly busy Christmas eve. They were slammed with orders, but handled the business efficiently -- calling out orders by last four digits of phone number to the masked crowd waiting outside. My food was excellent and there were no errors even though half the dishes were off-menu customized. They did a great job on a tough night. And they took Covid precautions very seriously keeping themselves and their customers safe. The food was very good and of course, the portions were large -- an excellent value.

Good food but the customer service is not friendly at all. Felt like being scolded when asking what small or large looks like.

Walked out of a fantastic yoga class at Centerville Yoga and went over to find an eggroll. After reading all the reviews, I figured, what could the harm be. Let's try the eggroll and take it from there. Many years (1980's) there was a Chinese restaurant in Shrewsbury, before it was the gross Chumlees (defunct, THANK GOODNESS!). They had THE BEST eggrolls I had ever had. As much as I love Lotus Blossom, their eggrolls are good, but never THOSE. So, I walk into GHZR and ask for a large order (=2) eggrolls. And steamed peking ravioli (AH HOW I MISS MARLBOROUGHS China Taste, an unfortunate victim of Covid, who had ALMOST perfect eggrolls and the best peking ravioli, the ones my toddler grew into a teen eating...). One of the owners was so cute when she said "Our eggrolls are ok. Eggrolls are one of those things that people have one they love and then they get that one stuck in their heads forever. And our peking ravioli are good, but maybe not the best you've had. I will give you the best ginger sauce. Mine is better than my uncles!"... Out came my order to go and out I went. Into the car. Hungry. Pulled it out. Munched on it. AND ANGELS SANG! What are you talking about girl? YOU GOT IT NAILED! If I eat nothing else from your place, it will only be eggrolls and you will still get a 5 star review from me. NAILED IT. Ravioli? Meaty, not salty, doughy, and delicious. I think I found my new Chinese crave joint, only 6 minutes from my house! REDEMPTION for moving so dang far away from my always Hudson. THANK YOU GUYS!

When we went inside, there was only one other party there and no music, so just whispers and the sounds of utensils against plates. There are about 4-5 booths and 1-2 regular tables to choose from. Since l am not familiar with Sichuan cuisine, I had Al help me choose my dishes. I went with the dumplings in chili sauce, fried rice, eggplant in garlic sauce, and chongquin chicken. While we waited, we were given water. The dishes came out at different times. They first served us the dumplings which were really good. The sauce they were in did have some chili sauce, but it was mostly like a sweet soy sauce and really tasty. It came with about 6 dumplings with a perfectly cooked wrapper and filled with flavorful pork - simple but delicious. Next was the eggplant. I was expecting a heavy garlic presence, but it was more like a sweet and sour sauce. The eggplant was very tender, but really hot so we had to wait to let it cool down a bit. The rice came after. I honestly think this was one of my favorite dishes since it was perfectly cooked, great flavor, and good portion. Lastly, the chicken came out. There was a large pile of chicken, but half of it was peppers. The chicken was cut into little bite sized pieces, each fried perfectly. Some pieces were more tongue numbing than others but it was nothing aggressive; very gentle and comfortable numb. I would have liked if there were music, but the no music was fine too; an escape from chaotic reality. Our total was around $50, which wasn't bad for the amount of food we got. I would come back to try other items.

Like the old Caswell's in Marshfield, you buy at a counter, they give you a number, and you sit on down as food is brought to you. The inside of Mac's is very clean and spacious, and has about twenty tables. There is seating outside - seasonal and today is January, with snow... so we stayed inside. Started off with the Mac's Clam Chowder which was a lovely milk broth - just as good as the chowder at the Clark Cooke House in Newport, Rhode Island! Homemade, flavorful and not jammed with excessive potatoes or onion; the clams were cooked well. I had the fish soup, looked almost like Portuguese Kale, but was very delicious, had a bit of heat to it, the fish was downright incredible; the carrots, celery, and onions were cooked to perfection. We usually get some raw bar, and they have a nice selection of little necks, cherry stones, and oysters, but today for us it was a pound and half of steamed clams. Plump, clean, and sand free. Just as good as those at Mattakeese Wharf Restaurant. Lobster... I asked for a two pounder, and got a 2.5 pounder. Fresh, delicious, succulent, and sweet. Wonderful and hard working staff. No negatives whatsoever.

We asked for waters as well and let the waiter, who was always available, know when we needed a refill. Everything we ordered was tasty, fresh, well prepared and nicely presented. I had expected a bit more spice on some of the dishes, but they were all very mild, so if you are worried about Sichuan spiciness or heat, you can put that worry to rest. Chopsticks only are at the table and although we didn't ask for forks, I suspect they could rustle some up for you if needed. The hot & sour soup is good according to my SO who gets it everywhere (and will let me know if it's a thumbs up or down). The décor is lovely and everything is clean, including the gender neutral restroom. The staff we encountered were all very pleasant and service was excellent. I made a reservation for 6 people One Month in advance (in fact, today is my birthday) expecting a comfortable dining setup for my group. However, upon arrival, we were squeezed into a table clearly designed for 4 people. When we pointed this out, the staff insisted it was a '6-person table' and refused to move us to the larger tables available, claiming those were reserved for 7-8 people. This is inconsistent and unprofessional, as we have been seated at those larger tables with a group of 6 before. What's the point of making a reservation so far in advance if the restaurant can't provide adequate seating? The lack of flexibility and the dismissive attitude of the staff ruined our evening.
