I ordered takeout here after a Christmas party across the street and it was pretty good. Not the best Thai in the world, but certainly not the worst. The pad Thai was good, the wings were good, and the rolls were all good. The chicken in the pad Thai was a bit weird so I ate around it but other than that it was a good experience.

Our first time to Mountain Moose, and honestly, I would say this is a hidden gem! Aside from the incredibly sweet server who was more than accommodating to my allergies, The food was great. The thai iced tea was great, I had two myself and my boyfriend drank the entirety of his, the crispy spring rolls were fresh and a perfect appetizer before our main course designing our own ramen bowls. We both tried the Rice Vermicelli noodles with the Pho broth, and added on hard boiled eggs, edamame, braised beef and lime. Overall the flavors worked well together. We will definitely be back for the comforting vibes and delicious food!

This place was so unexpectedly good! We went in and the staff was really helpful and the restaurant was very clean and organized. Based on the menu and moose mascot we weren't too sure at first, but this place is amazing!! We ordered the house Moose soup, which has a curry base, beef, edamame, corn mushroom, boiled egg, and crisp dumplings. Best soup we've had in a while. Well balanced flavors. We also ordered the sesame balls which were fresh and crispy with a great sesame flavor. Lastly, we ordered crab rangoons which were the freshest and most well seasoned we've ever had. Great spot if you're ever in Newport!

We stopped here on a whim and were so happy with our experience! I love the self-serve method here, we ordered at the counter and helped ourselves to condiments and water. I loved that they had gluten free options marked because that's not always common with asian cuisine. The hostess was super kind and prices were reasonable for both ramen bowls and drinks. The restaurant was very clean and quiet! Our dishes were delicious and felt like a warm hug on a cold day. Highly recommend!

We were walking along trying to decide what to eat, when we found this little place with a soft opening in progress. QR codes and pictures were outside the restaurant deck area, where there is space for tables, if the weather was warm. We decided to give it a try. The place looked great inside. When you walk in, there is immediately a drink cooler, and the menu board is on the wall, where you order, and your meal is brought to the table. The entrance area was pretty tight, especially if there are more than 2-4 people coming in at the same time. I'm sure management will figure that out. We ordered pad Thai and Dan Dan noodles. We both enjoyed our meals. They came out within a reasonable time, and were piping hot. While waiting for our noodle bowls to cool, we enjoyed a sample of complimentary rangoons. Delicious! The dining room isn't super large, but a decent size to accommodate a reasonable crowd. You will bus your own table when finished, and there is a station with utensils, sauces, cups, takeout containers, and even a dispenser of cold lemon water. The prices were very reasonable, we thought, for noodles. We would definitely consider coming back the next time we are in Newport!

This place is a must try!!! Food is crazy good! You can build your own ramen or rice bowl. Thai curry broth is amazing...and ya gotta try the crab rangoon.

They have a…read morevariety of soups, noodles, meat and vegetable based dishes so we are always trying something new here! The staff are kind and food comes out in a timely manner. The restaurant has a very calming atmosphere inside and while small, even has outdoor seating. Drinks/apps: we always start off with Thai iced teas, these are a must. They are sweet but not overly so, and go very well with any dish you order. We also love the spring rolls, mango fresh rolls, and our favorite, the curry puffs. They are flakey and filled with sweet/savory vegetable flavors. Of course we also get the edamame because it's a nice little snack. Entrees: my current favorite is the malay noodle soup, it comes out steaming hot and is so creamy and filling. There is plenty of beef and wonderful steamed broccoli that soaks up the flavor of the soup. I also love the Rad Na, which is an assortment of steamed vegetables in a gravy-like curry. This one is perfect for colder months, since it really warms you up. My bf has gotten various curries and the vermicelli trio which he has enjoyed very much as well. Dessert: we haven't tried any dessert here because we end up getting so full from the other dishes! Each time we go I anticipate that I will need to be carried out, because I will probably go into a food coma. TL;DR: For those visiting Newport, do not pass up trying this place if you're not in the mood for the overwhelming amount of seafood restaurants located here. You can't really go wrong with any dish, make sure to get Thai iced teas and you will leave really full and happy :)

Crispy spring rolls A+, Asian chicken wings A+, Beef and chicken drunken noodles A+. My advice: 1. ask for extra sauce for the chicken wings. Note that they are really big wings...this is a shareable appetizer. 2. The crispy spring rolls are incredible. A single order is four small rolls. 3. Their drunken noodles are packed with meat and vegetables. We ask for extra noodles to balance it out. We highly recommend this place. We travel on our boat full time, so once we find our favorite spots, we crave them. Thai cuisine is a place we love!

The RI Food Fights TacoMania competition & tourist season starting to slow got us over the bridge to try early on a Saturday evening. Arriving just after opening, we had our choice of tables in an empty room. That was a good thing since, by the time we left, the place was jamming! The server, who was welcoming, enthusiastic about the menu & and handled the ever-growing crowd on his own, told us that we could always call ahead for a table. Good to know since we didn't see a way to reserve. The little place is comfy & lovely! The decor perfectly suits the Newport scene and includes a welcoming food bar area that would be perfect for enjoying their international tapa-like street-food inspired offerings. A small patio is available to overlook Memorial Blvd in nicer weather. While they do not have a liquor license, you are welcome to BYOB and we did, finding the $3 per person corkage fee very fair. Now, about the food... WOW! What a explosion of fun flavors! With choices of snacks from around the world, you can jump from one intense palate to another, over and over. Three of us shared five small dishes & one large and we loved them all. The Nduja Shrimp Dumplings were delicate and fresh and loaded with flavor. The tacos that we were here to judge were fantastic. The pork was juicy & flavorful, and, though we were afraid the vegetable tacos would be boring - they were anything but. We'd eat these all the time! Bravas Frites were a fun twist on traditional Spanish Patatas Bravas, using fries as a base rather than cubed potatoes. Again, delicious! But, our favorite of the small plates had to be the Brussel Sprouts. We almost didn't get them as they've been so over-done, but felt vegetable guilt & threw them in. OMG - the best prep of these tiny cabbages ever! Finally, the pièce de résistance was the Lobster Fried Rice - a perfect way to top it all off. Buttery, umami & loaded with chunks of fresh lobster meat, my mouth waters now just thinking it. So glad we finally stopped here. A great Tacomania contender and we can't wait to return to eat our way through the rest of the menu!

My review is not favorable but I think knowing this is a Pasta Beach effort - it will be a hit in a few months. It is in the original Pasta Beach spot next to a Dunkin' Donuts for whatever reason is open late at night. The positives - plenty of nearby street parking, modern and cozy space, and very good staff. I should mention that after we ordered, our 5 appetizers arrived starting in 5 minutes and all were served within 10 minutes. We did screw up by forgetting we were at BYOB. OK - the killer - the food. Of the 5 appetizers we ordered only one was a winner! That was the Brussel sprouts which were outstanding and a large portion. All the other dishes were about the right size for sharing by 2. Realize they are striving for "fusion" but they missed it on the pulled pork dumplings. The lamb skewers were a struggle to eat - tough (and certainly could not be eaten off the skewers) - but the saving grace was the dipping sauce. The big failures were the prosciutto croquettes - a real mess with a sliver of meat on top of mainly onions - and OMG - the Korean chicken wings. The latter came slathered with a sticky and spicy, sweet, red sauce (too hot for my wife) and some sort of dipping sauce. A mess to eat. We had to request paper towels and dip in our water to clean up. Damages with tip was $90 and we only had a tea and sparkling water. We may try it in a few months, but their current menu did not work with our palates. Food 2/5 Service 5/5 Value 3/5 (average) Cleanliness 5/5 Noise 5/5 (lack of) Décor 5/5

The focus here is ramen, with a small lineup of appetizers and a surprisingly good selection of sakes by the glass or bottle (not just the little cans you see elsewhere). We started with the salted potatoes and then moved on to ramens, which was rich, comforting, and exactly what you want on a cold night. And a BIG portion. They can prepare many items gluten free, and if you're unsure about your spice tolerance, you can get the chili oil on the side, which is a nice touch. Overall, a very nice meal and I'd definitely recommend it.

This was what ramen was made for. I walked in feeling (and looking) like Jack Frost. Only the brave were venturing about, so the restaurant was minimally packed and we were seated immediately. Szechuan cauliflower? Yes please. I would come back here for that cauliflower alone and order three servings of it. It was perfectly crispy and smothered in spicy sauce. The miso ramen broth was flavorful and spicy. Just what I was looking for. They used brown rice noodles which had a consistency that I would describe as slightly clumpy and with a different taste than traditional noodles. The rest of the toppings were as expected. The interior was very well decorated and felt upscale. It was a nice experience dining here.
