I ordered takeout here after a Christmas party across the street and it was pretty good. Not the best Thai in the world, but certainly not the worst. The pad Thai was good, the wings were good, and the rolls were all good. The chicken in the pad Thai was a bit weird so I ate around it but other than that it was a good experience.

Our first time to Mountain Moose, and honestly, I would say this is a hidden gem! Aside from the incredibly sweet server who was more than accommodating to my allergies, The food was great. The thai iced tea was great, I had two myself and my boyfriend drank the entirety of his, the crispy spring rolls were fresh and a perfect appetizer before our main course designing our own ramen bowls. We both tried the Rice Vermicelli noodles with the Pho broth, and added on hard boiled eggs, edamame, braised beef and lime. Overall the flavors worked well together. We will definitely be back for the comforting vibes and delicious food!

This place was so unexpectedly good! We went in and the staff was really helpful and the restaurant was very clean and organized. Based on the menu and moose mascot we weren't too sure at first, but this place is amazing!! We ordered the house Moose soup, which has a curry base, beef, edamame, corn mushroom, boiled egg, and crisp dumplings. Best soup we've had in a while. Well balanced flavors. We also ordered the sesame balls which were fresh and crispy with a great sesame flavor. Lastly, we ordered crab rangoons which were the freshest and most well seasoned we've ever had. Great spot if you're ever in Newport!

We stopped here on a whim and were so happy with our experience! I love the self-serve method here, we ordered at the counter and helped ourselves to condiments and water. I loved that they had gluten free options marked because that's not always common with asian cuisine. The hostess was super kind and prices were reasonable for both ramen bowls and drinks. The restaurant was very clean and quiet! Our dishes were delicious and felt like a warm hug on a cold day. Highly recommend!

Best ramen in RI~ Came here since we were in the area~ we…read moreordered some dumplings and a bun along with ramen~ I got the spicy miso. For drinks I got a refresher ~ refresher wasn't too outstanding but it helped with my spicy ramen~ my ramen so was savory and flavorful~ tasty, wasn't fatty or too oily. It had just good flavors that weren't too heavy but definitely filling and satisfying. My partners ramen was also very flavorful and tasty without the typical fatty, oily, tastes I usually get. We asked the server for the check since we need to leave soon after to make it on time for an event, and she gave us the check, and some to-go containers in case we needed it, which was very considerate! The appetizer were solid, good, but you MUST try the ramen. Spicy ramen was worth it if you need a good hangover soup or super chilly, or just want to sweat~ the egg and corn pieces were such soothing ingredients ~ Will be back for sure, even if the drive and parking is a hassle. Street parking is the way to go, and be ready for a walk~

I've seen the place before on yelp with good reviews and wanted to try for a while but since i don't go to newport often we decided to give it a try since we were in the area. It's a ramen shop in busy newport touristic area by the port. It's located inside the plaza and has parkings as well. Its was busy time of the week so the parking was full so we ended up finding a street parking a but far and walked over. Since its was nice out they had outside patio seatings as well but it was busy so we sat inside. Inside is decent size and has multiple seatings and tables that accommodates medium size groups. They seem to also have their own ramen noodle making area where the worker is hand making noodles and you can see them through the glass. We sat down and looked at the menu. They offer variety of drinks including bubble tea, alcoholic drinks and refresher as well with some interesting flavors. There are some appetizers and ramen noodle options. We tried the gochujang chicken bao bun, and spicy chili dumplings as appetizers.i tried their hong kong bubble tea and got the tonkotsu ramen. Gochujang chicken bao bun was tasty. Nice and fluffy bun and flavorful fried chicken paired well. I was expecting more or gochujang flavor but it actually tasted more like buffalo or hot chicken. Spicy chili dumplings were okay. Hong kong tea had good tea flavor and boba was chewy and sweet. The tonkotsu ramen was quite good. Flavorful pork broth paired well with garlic oil. Noodles were firm and thin as they seemed to be hand made. Chasu was fatty and flavorful. Egg was good but could use a bit more flavor if they were be marinated and should be a bit more yolky for ramen eggs. Overall a solid ramen. Service was good and the waitress was attentive. When i mentioned that i had to leave in a timely manner as we were going to be on a sunset cruise she brought the check right away with some bag and bowls to take the leftover home which was thoughtful. Overall we had a great experience at the restaurant and i was quite impressed by their ramen especially considering the options available in RI. Service was good and was not too busy despite being touristic area. This may be one of top spot for ramen in RI currently.

I ordered the shrimp pad Thai and yellow curry with duck. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. I love that food so this meal really hit the spot! The duck was tender and flavorful. It was good crispy, nicely cooked the sauce really was a stand out for me. Well, a few of my other family members would have preferred soy sauce but a bit pricey for what it was. Not amazing, just decent. Good portion though. Everyone at the table loved the Tom Yum soup. It's not really my thing since I don't love coconut-based soups, but everyone else was raving and said it was the best they've had. I ordered the Crispy Duck and it was the highlight of the meal. The duck tasted very fresh, and CRISPY the sauce was sweet and spicy, and the greens tasted more like baked kale than fried light, not greasy, and full of flavor. Really excellent. However, it can get quite heavy as my boyfriend really liked his food, but the sauce was a bit much for him with the heaviness of the duck so just keep that in mind I thought it was fine. I liked it so personal preference. There was a small mix-up where my food was accidentally taken away and thrown out, but the staff handled it well and made me a smaller batch to go. I was a little bummed not to get all the extra greens I'd saved, but they genuinely tried to make it right. I also kept changing my mind on my main dish once I realized something was coconut-based, and the staff was incredibly patient and kind the whole time. Great food, great service, and definitely worth coming back.

I got here around 4 pm and the parking situation wasn't honestly an issue. The music isn't over powering and the overall layout makes it seem very homey. depending on where you sit you have a nice view of the kitchen where the chefs are diligently preparing the food. The starter bread is nice and dense with good flavor, it reminds me of a sour dough. The olive oil that comes standard at the table is robust and has a very nice flavor to it. I ordered the pasta bolognese, the taste and acidity of the sauce is pretty standard, a little on the acidic side but i tend to enjoy it like that. The house made pasta (or whichever kind of pasta is used) is well picked. The pasta picks up the sauce well and the mouthfeel is hard to beat; I want to attribute that to the house made aspect of it. I also got one of their seasonal cocktails called the paper plane which was refreshing. It was a little tart, definitely tastes of grape fruit with the lemon garnish also contributing to the taste. However I'm not sure how well it paired with pasta alla bolognese. To finish I got the crème brûlée. For me it's always a toss up between that and key lime pie every time so when a place offers both I usually have to flip a coin. For those who have had crème brûlée, it's overall a pretty simple dessert. The portion size was a huge plus for me. The sugar top had just a hint of burnt taste (obviously!) but you could really tell; and that is something I honestly don't mind. As for the crème it was nice, light, smooth with a hint of lemon I think. The staff are very friendly and attentive. I'm typically a solo diner but at least from what I saw they are capable of accommodating parties of about 10 so long as you call ahead first to let them know. I have to assume given the time of year it's "less packed" than normal because outdoor dining is pretty much not an option in march. This is my first time in the state of Rhode Island and subsequently the first time in Newport. I found them out through the Resy app, and decided to give it a shot. In all honestly because of the vibes, the food and the area, if you are ever in the area I would definitely try this spot out for some pretty good Italian. P.S I want to apologize for only posting the dessert, I'm just getting back into food posting. Sorry!

We easily made a reservation a few days ahead of time for a table of 6. The table was ready early, and that was good. We were early. Seated immediately and excellent service throughout the night. We talked a lot and were slow to order. The server was patient and checked in regularly but didn't rush us. When we ordered the food was delivered almost instantly. I tried the tagliatelle bolognese and really liked it. I also had pepperoni pizza and loved it. It was an almost perfect Neapolitan pizza diavola with just a little American flair in the pepperoni. Crust was crispy chewy as it should be and the sauce was perfect. A++ pizza! The prices are extremely fair for downtown, and the food is top 10% or better. Good enough that I'd say if you visit Newport and eat out you better try Pasta Beach - it's in the top 1-2 must try places for me!

The restaurant has a very calming atmosphere inside and while small, even has outdoor seating. Drinks/apps: we always start off with Thai iced teas, these are a must. They are sweet but not overly so, and go very well with any dish you order. We also love the spring rolls, mango fresh rolls, and our favorite, the curry puffs. They are flakey and filled with sweet/savory vegetable flavors. Of course we also get the edamame because it's a nice little snack. Entrees: my current favorite is the malay noodle soup, it comes out steaming hot and is so creamy and filling. There is plenty of beef and wonderful steamed broccoli that soaks up the flavor of the soup. I also love the Rad Na, which is an assortment of steamed vegetables in a gravy-like curry. This one is perfect for colder months, since it really warms you up. My bf has gotten various curries and the vermicelli trio which he has enjoyed very much as well. Dessert: we haven't tried any dessert here because we end up getting so full from the other dishes! Each time we go I anticipate that I will need to be carried out, because I will probably go into a food coma. TL;DR: For those visiting Newport, do not pass up trying this place if you're not in the mood for the overwhelming amount of seafood restaurants located here. You can't really go wrong with any dish, make sure to get Thai iced teas and you will leave really full and happy :)
