The ambiance of the restaurant is pleasant. For parking, if you can get street parking, that would be ideal; however there is a parking lot right next to the restaurant, which charges $30 for the first two hours. I got here around 4 pm and the parking situation wasn't honestly an issue. The music isn't over powering and the overall layout makes it seem very homey. depending on where you sit you have a nice view of the kitchen where the chefs are diligently preparing the food. The starter bread is nice and dense with good flavor, it reminds me of a sour dough. The olive oil that comes standard at the table is robust and has a very nice flavor to it. I ordered the pasta bolognese, the taste and acidity of the sauce is pretty standard, a little on the acidic side but i tend to enjoy it like that. The house made pasta (or whichever kind of pasta is used) is well picked. The pasta picks up the sauce well and the mouthfeel is hard to beat; I want to attribute that to the house made aspect of it. I also got one of their seasonal cocktails called the paper plane which was refreshing. It was a little tart, definitely tastes of grape fruit with the lemon garnish also contributing to the taste. However I'm not sure how well it paired with pasta alla bolognese. To finish I got the crème brûlée. For me it's always a toss up between that and key lime pie every time so when a place offers both I usually have to flip a coin. For those who have had crème brûlée, it's overall a pretty simple dessert. The portion size was a huge plus for me. The sugar top had just a hint of burnt taste (obviously!) but you could really tell; and that is something I honestly don't mind. As for the crème it was nice, light, smooth with a hint of lemon I think. The staff are very friendly and attentive. I'm typically a solo diner but at least from what I saw they are capable of accommodating parties of about 10 so long as you call ahead first to let them know. I have to assume given the time of year it's "less packed" than normal because outdoor dining is pretty much not an option in march. This is my first time in the state of Rhode Island and subsequently the first time in Newport. I found them out through the Resy app, and decided to give it a shot. In all honestly because of the vibes, the food and the area, if you are ever in the area I would definitely try this spot out for some pretty good Italian. First time trying something for the first time in Newport in a long time. Glad it was Pasta Beach. We had a small group of colleagues/old friends and wanted to have dinner. We easily made a reservation a few days ahead of time for a table of 6. The table was ready early, and that was good. We were early. Seated immediately and excellent service throughout the night. We talked a lot and were slow to order. The server was patient and checked in regularly but didn't rush us. When we ordered the food was delivered almost instantly. I tried the tagliatelle bolognese and really liked it. I also had pepperoni pizza and loved it. It was an almost perfect Neapolitan pizza diavola with just a little American flair in the pepperoni. Crust was crispy chewy as it should be and the sauce was perfect. A++ pizza! The prices are extremely fair for downtown, and the food is top 10% or better. Good enough that I'd say if you visit Newport and eat out you better try Pasta Beach - it's in the top 1-2 must try places for me! read more

Stopped in for a quick solo lunch and Pasta Beach did not disappoint. The bar area is very cozy and got lively during lunch service on a Thursday. The appetizer list looked excellent, and there is a pasta choice for almost any palette. They also have pizzas that looked yummy. We used to frequent Pasta Beach because their handmade pasta was always so good, but over the years I feel like the quality has slipped a bit. Our favorite dish is the tagliatelle with asparagus and prosciutto, which is always a 10/10, but whenever we order a second dish to try something new, it usually disappoints. For the price point, I think the quality should be more consistent. On the positive side, our server was kind, attentive, and prompt. We never had to ask for refills, which we appreciated. Pasta Beach was an exceptional restaurant. It has a perfect location for exposure to visitors, it has a large indoor seating area, I love the welcoming atmosphere and.... during the warmer months...they have a beautifully aestetic outdoor seating area. Let me start by saying how much we enjoyed our server, Nicole. From start to finish, she was attentive, helpful, resourceful with local attraction recommendations, and always displayed a genuine smile. My drink was the Sugar and Spice (Shipwreck Spiced Rum, Liquor 43, Mint, and Lime). This drink was amazing, deliciously sweet, loved the sugar rim, and highly recommended. The appetizer was Polpette (Beef and pork meatballs, tomato sauce, parmesan cheese). The meatballs were pleasantly tender and the sweet sauce enveloped every bite with deliciousness. Each entree was award winning, presented at the optimal temperature, and perfectly seasoned: Margherita Pizza and the Tagliatelle (substituted with rigatoni) Funghi. This dish included champignon mushrooms, garlic, cream, and parsley. The dessert was mouth watering...Coppa Straciatella (Chocolate chip gelato swirled together with chocolate syrup, topped with cocoa powder and hazelnuts). I enjoyed this dessert and every spoonful was an adventure. Going from the powdery top layer, working to the creamy gelato center, and finishing with the syrupy chocolate bottom, was exquisite and hope that everyone gets to experience this exceptional final course. Once again, I have entered a restroom that deserves kudos. The nautical decor was innovative and the cleanliness speaks volumes for the beauty of the entire restaurant. Pasta Beach is a fabulous restaurant. The ambience through the different seasons is spot on. I enjoy grabbing a drink here with friends & having a bite. However, I think Pasta Beach needs to work on its service. They need to elevate the little things to make it more enjoyable . The beverages are something I struggle with at Pasta Beach. The establishment needs to address the issue with their beverages, as the soda is consistently flat and served without ice, which makes the drink experience quite disappointing. While the restaurant's ambiance is lovely, the glassware feels out of place. Bulky and inelegant. Especially with flat drinks and mocktails. I'm constantly having to specifically Oder a different glass. A touch more attentiveness to the little things would elevate Pasta Beach from great to truly outstanding. read more

Parking is street and nearby lot parking which fills up pretty quickly. Food wise the lasagna was said to be solid so a few ordered that along with a cacio e Pepe and one of the carbonara dishes. We ordered the calamari and the fried provolone with hot honey (we ended up ordering a second round.) Drinks I can only speak to mine I went for the Club Italian which was refreshing, and well balanced. Would recommend! The dishes we tried were all equally flavorful, and ample serving sizes. The pasta was perfectly elegant dente. I would say at first glance the cacio e Pepe seemed like they put store bought shredded cheese but overall taste was great and perfectly cooked. I had a bite of the lasagna which was good and definitely shareable unless you're really hungry :) Staff was nice, space had a nice upscale beach vibe. We went for a birthday celebration and when making reservations, the hostess asked if it was a special occasion. I told her yes it was my daughter's birthday. We had a very unfriendly waitress who seemed annoyed we were there and when coming over to the table to ask us a question she literally wasn't listening. I order calamari a lot and I prefer light breading and crispy flavor. The basket had a couple pieces of fried shrimp... those were actually tasty. The calamari was NOT good. I ordered a pizza with prosciutto... I was expecting small pieces of prosciutto cut up and baked into the pizza. What I got were full slices just draped on top... put on AFTER the pizza was cut. So when I tried to pick up slices It was hard to eat, and difficult to cut. The crust was good but the bottom of the pizza was kinda soggy. My daughter ordered the carbonara. These portion was small, but that's expected at a place like this. What was unexpected for a place specializing in pasta is to have an at best "mid" carbonara. The cheese was just NOT good. Carbonara is easy to make and hard to screw up... I don't know what kind of cheese they used but it didn't taste right. I expected it to be pricey, we're in Newport and it's a ritzy tourist area. We were disappointed this evening when 3 of us ordered dinner at the bar. My eggplant, which I had recommended to our guest, was burned, dry and tasteless. I tried putting oil and vinegar on it as there was no salt to be seen, but it really didn't help. We have been going to Pasta Beach for years, long before they moved to the current Bellevue address. My husband ordered Spaghetti vongole with clams, a dish he has ordered numerous times before....and found it so spicy hot that it was inedible. Two of my favorite words. Pasta Beach, you were wonderful! The menu has alllll of the pasta options you could ever want. Pasta with seafood, meat lasagna, carbonara, ravioli. And on and on. And if you aren't feeling the pasta route they've got pizzas, calzones and some entrees that all sounded really yummy. We started off with a crunchy cesar salad that was topped with a mound of hot and crispy bacon. This was a very unboring cesar and I'm happy we ordered it. The complimentary bread was also hot and fresh. On to the pasta. I went with the octopus bucatini which was topped in a chunky tomato sauce with olives and capers. The pasta was perfectly al dente and there was an impressive showing of octopus. I was wowed. My sister's carbonara was also a showstopper. I've never seen this dish with rigatoni - interesting move and it was a delicious combo. Order up your favorite drink (aperol spritz for me) and you have yourself a five star meal. read more
