Great happy hour options! This place has excellent service and friendly staff. I sat at the bar and was constantly checked on. My water was filled all the time and the food was delicious. I had happy hour oysters and the lobster donut roll. As other people mentioned, the lobster roll is a crab roll with some lobster, not much. It is still tasty though. You need to add the salt and vinegar fries. I ate it all! So addicting!! The oysters were fresh and the pink peppercorn & cucumber mignonette was perfect! I ordered a French 75 for my drink and it was strong but didn't taste strong. Excellent place to go for happy hour. I would recommend!
Lovely and delicious! Stopped for a quick late dinner bite and throughly enjoyed our experience. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and could answer our questions easily. Overall, the restaurant has a fun theme to it and is an intimate space. We started with some oysters and the hamachi crudo, which were both fresh tasting and so so delicious! Their burger was very satisfying and cooked well. Absolutely will stop in again for the great food!
Extra Wavy is a coastal seafood spot that mixes European coast vibes with East Coast influence. The menu is pretty unique for St. Louis, and they make their own breads and pastas. I was impressed by the wine list, especially the nearly 15 options by the glass. The atmosphere was lively the night we went, which made sense for a new place getting good reviews. Everyone at the table loved the Summer Aquash appetizer, and the agrodolce sauce was a standout. I had the grilled salmon, which was delicious. My friends ordered the Wavy Burger and the Lamb Burger, and while they left the buns, they cleaned up the meat. The only miss for me was the oysters, which weren't as cold as I would've liked. I'm pretty particular about oysters. The service was good overall, though when the food came out, no one explained what each dish was. We ended up figuring it out by comparing everything to the menu. We went on a busy night, and the energy really added to the experience. I'd definitely go back with friends to try a few more dishes and another glass of wine.
Located relatively close to Lafayette Square, Extra Wavy is a bright, spacious restaurant with a great cocktail, wine and liquor selection along with some delicious food options. They run happy hour (called Wavy Hour) Tuesday through Friday, 5-6pm. It's a short window but if you can catch it, it's worth it. I made a 5:45pm reservations because honestly I like to dine when the restaurant is still somewhat calm. It was already hopping when we got there. We each ordered a cocktail from their happy hour menu and some popcorn shrimp. I had a melon drop fizz (Amalfi mandarino, aperol, cantaloupe, sparkling wine and sparking water and lemon) take on the spritz and my husband had the basil coconut smash (Blanco tequila, coconut tequila, green aperitif, basil, lime). I liked my spritz. It was refreshing as advertised. The popcorn shrimp was so good! They used a seasoning that I can only describe as fantastic. It had a great overall savory flavor but mot overwhelmingly salty. For my entrée, I ordered the crab pasta. True to its name, the pasta delivered a wonderful seafood and crab flavors and yes, there was a lump of crab meat in the middle. The sauce was creamy and delicious. It was a large portion for me. My husband had the stuffed pasta. His was a smaller portion. There was a bit of inconsistency with the portions in my opinion but not going to complain much since I ended up getting another meal out of my entrée. For dessert, I couldn't choose just one and I am a sucker for sticky toffee pudding so we ordered that and I also was curious about the affogato martini. My verdict: the sticky toffee pudding was too sweet for my preference and I still would rather have a normal affogato. Service was great; friendly and smiling and never left with an empty glass of water. We left full and in very good spirits.
3.5/5 stars. Really cute restaurant with nice decor and ambience. Seated promptly for our reservation. Drinks: I started with a Chin Music, which wasn't my favorite. It was very sparkling-wine forward, similar to a rosé. My dining partner got a Golden Coast to start and was similarly not impressed in terms of old fashioneds, expected more excitement from the plum brandy and felt like it was a drink you could make at home. He got a Chill Wave next which was delicious and had a complex and satisfying flavor profile. Food: started with the pork belly skewers which were INCREDIBLE. No notes. Then a e had the Wavy Burger and the Crab Pasta. My burger was fine, the patty was well cooked and well seasoned. He liked his pasta just fine. Overall, not our favorite place we've dined this year, which seems to be a hot take compared to how everyone else has felt about it. Maybe it'll be your favorite place, too.
This is currently my #1 place in St. Louis. I cannot put into words how good this place is. The crab pasta is AMAZING and the Plot Twist drink is heavenly. Their homemade focaccia appetizer was delicious, as well as the lobster donut. The sticky toffee pudding we ordered for dessert was one of the best desserts we've had. I loved the decor and vibe of the locations. Service was phenomenal.
We got a last minute resy after our other plans fell through. We've been here before, sat at the bar, and loved it. This time we got a table and everything was still nice but different . Great service, drinks, and food. The mushroom toast and sourdough were phenomenal, Unfortunately, my boyfriend got the crab pasta and didn't like it. I loved the ravioli stuffed pasta and would order it again. I prefer the vibes at the bar compared to the seating area so when we return it will be at the bar!
I finally made it to Extra Wavy during Friday happy hour with friends. They were able to seat us at opening without a reservation so we were thankful. The happy hour menu had great options it was so hard to decide. I got an old fashioned and we ordered a few small plates. What we actually loved the best were the vinegar fries! We ordered seconds to go with our second cocktail. The ambiance is also so fun it's a great place to get together with friends or on a date.
Came here for happy hour and it did not disappoint!! They have great HH pricing. Lovely ambiance and drinks. The wallpaper and decor is super fun. We got there right around 4:30, plenty of parking and it was basically empty! It realllly filled up within the next hour! I really enjoyed the popcorn shrimp and yummy curry aioli it came with! The fries were tasty but a little on the crunchy/burnt side. The oysters were fresh and delicious. Super clean. Also loved the little sauce it came with! The meatball sandwich was okay, I probably wouldn't get that again! Can't wait to go back! There's so many items on the menu I can't wait to try!
A fun new raw bar addition to STL. The space is large and has a parking lot right in front there enough space in the restaurant to host all your guests. It's wheelchair friendly but a host may need to grab the door for you. The staff was phenomenal and never missed a beat. The vibes are great! And fun note all their greens are grown in house! The seafood was fresh and very bright! I would love to see a full raw menu when they hit their 1 year of service. The scallop crudo had texture but the raw oysters had the perfect cucumber mignonette! The baked oysters could have been harder but that sauce was fire! Each went well with my Mayday cocktail. Unfortunately the lamb meatballs were a miss as they flavors are not too common to my taste and unfortunately my bread had that burnt taste from the grill. The viral crab pasta was also not very crabby and overly bready. I would add more crab or lessen the amount of pasta to balance. The desserts also need a rework because the flavors were not what you would think for sticky toffee pudding or pistachio ice cream. There are more menu items to explore so I will be back! I am very interested in what this restaurant has in store for us!
Checked out Extra Wavy recently with a friend and really enjoyed it. We were there as they opened so it was really open but filled in well. We wanted to try the happy hour specials, and we really enjoyed all the things we ordered. The oysters are flown in fresh daily and I could tell the wait person knew what's up by the way she described the type of oysters they had that day. The cocktails were great as was a chicken sandwich on the happy hour menu, but for us the fish & chips were a big standout!
Overall an enjoyable experience! Staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Seated at the bar made for a more engaging experience as a diner of 1. Started with a Whiskey Smash w/Buffalo Trace, which was very well balanced and a little too easy to drink. Lol At the recommendation of the bartender, tried the Lobster Donut with Fries. The fries were delicious and the house sauce that is served with them balances the seasoning. The Lobster Donut, while I finished it, I didn't find it memorable. Primarily because it's called a Lobster Donut, but it was 85% crab meat. It's called a Donut because of how they make the bread, but don't be concerned, it's not a sweet entree. Moving on from there, I tried a Mar-Tiny Espresso Martini which is a mini cocktail and it was delicious! From there, the Sticky Toffee Pudding. It's a large dessert, enough for 2 to enjoy. It's definitely sweet and the ice cream was a nice support for the rich cake.
Went in for a bday celebratory dinner. The service was excellent. The wait staff was prompt, made suggestions, was alert to my boyfriend's allergies, happily exchanged a cocktailI was not a fan of. We ordered Caesar & oysters on happyhour. The oysters were so delicious. Just oysters & a mignonette. No crackers, hot sauce or cocktail sauce. But i didnt mind bc i was there for the oysters. $18 for 6 on hh special. Also ordered a burger & lobster "donut". The burger was good- i dont know that it was anything special but a solid choice. The lobster donut was a mix of lobster with veggies on a thick piece of bread. Not a fan personally. The lobster taste was hidden in the "salad" & the bread was thick & overpowering. Really enjoyed the decor of the restaurant. The wallpaper is fun. The nets from the ceiling & the wall decor make for a fun space. It was quite loud & I had a hard time hearing my dinner companions & the restaurant wasn't close to full to capacity

This restaurant was so good last week, had to run it back this week. Make you sure you make a reservation as they even book the bar seats. Drinks, service, and food are top tier. This restaurant is the sister company to @yellowbelly so they knew how to get things right. I highly recommend the lamb meatball, lobster donut (made with sweet potatoes), and the classic cheeseburger. read more

So where to start?, the Shazam set on auto?, The adorable design of the place with interesting art ? Or the delightful food in taste and presentation?? Or how the waitress had recommendations ready?!!!! Let's discuss the food and drink... that is a big reason I go to a restaurant.... I am a foodie... We had baked oysters with hot honey!! That's a tasty modern twist ! Then we tried the lamb meatballs... they were served in a white and red sauce.. delicious... the chicken thighs were moist... but normal.... As expected from the same group behind Yellow Belly and Lazy Tiger, Extra Wavy definitely did not disappoint. The restaurant was so spacious with plenty of parking in the lot. I was so amazed with the amount of people hat showed up when the restaurant was only open for a few weeks. The servers and hosts were so nice and friendly. I ordered a hot tea and my waiter made sure to top me off with hot water throughout the night. I disclosed that we were celebrating anniversary and they made us feel special. The food was absolutely amazing and did not fail to meet my expectations. My favorite dish is the mushroom toast. For a vegetarian dish, it was super delicious and the mushrooms were so savory that they tasted like breakfast sausage. I highly recommend you order this dish. The lobster donut was interesting and unique from your regular lobster rolls. The scallop crudo was fresh and I liked the almond praline. It gave the dish a nice crunch and a dessert-like flavor. The crab pasta was an elevated Alfredo with the zesty breadcrumbs. Too bad I am not a drinker so I couldn't try their mixology but the cocktails are probably fire. read more
Beautiful space for this new restaurant concept! Very spacious bar space and plenty of dining tables. We tried a couple of cocktails , Plot Twist and Harmony Circus. Both were tasty but I especially loved the Plot Twist with pistachio foam. Food-wise we tried the hamachi crudo, lamb meatballs, shrimp & tomato skewers, panzanilla and lobster donut with fries. Things were coursed out nicely for us and we enjoyed everything we tried. The panzanella, lamb meatballs and salt & vinegar fries were definitely favorites. That cocktail was to DIE FOR! A friend and I had a reservation here before a concert at Enterprise Center. We picked out an entree and a starter, and shared both. The food was perfectly cooked and presented beautifully. Our server was attentive and explained everything well. The interior is lovely, though the music is loud enough that it's a struggle to hold a conversation. I just don't understand why restaurants feel the need to have their background music at such high levels. read more

We had a lovely girls night dinner at Extra Wavy the other night! First, the interior is so cute and charming so that won me over immediately. But the food and cocktails were delicious as well. Such a delicious experience from start to finish. The drink of the night for me was the Plot Twist. Great mix of flavors with the pistachio froth being a winning topping. We tried several dishes, so let's jump into those. The grilled oysters had amazing flavors and we could have ordered those all night. The lamb meatballs were equally delicious. The chicken thigh skewers were tasty, but needs the zhoug to really make them pop. Our last item was the crab pasta and once again they hit the mark with this one. Music a bit loud but once the place filled up( and it sure did on a Saturday night), seemed tolerable. Service was helpful, prompt. Liked the choice of a minitini, a smaller martini. Cocktail, wine list went on forever. The menu choices included starters, salads/ soups, sandwiches and entrees. The polenta starter was amazing. The salmon was perfect. DO NOT sleep on this latest gem in St. Louis! Extra Wavy has a great vibe and outstanding food. From the appetizers to the entrees. And even the desserts! We came for dinner and were pleasantly pleased they have a happy hour from 5-630. I had the BEST espresso martini ever. And my husband enjoyed his old fashioned. We had the Wavy Fries and Popcorn Shrimp as our appetizers. Absolutely amazing. You have to try the fries. For our entrees I had the Crab Pasta and my husband had Fish and Chips both equally delicious. Of course we had to try dessert. So we ordered chocolate cake to go and it did not disappoint. Our server was outstanding! We couldn't have asked for better service! I cannot recommend Extra Wavy enough. We'll definitely be back!! read more
We got a reservation for the bar and CJ's service and cocktail making was so impressive! The food and drinks were all amazing. We made sure to get the salt and vinegar fries and pork belly skewers after seeing so many people recommend them here on Yelp and I'm so glad that we did! Loved this place!! First off, it has a parking lot which is always a relief. It was easy to find and get eated. I'd recommend reservations, it's pretty popular. It was busy, but the tables were spread out enough that I didn't feel crowded by other parties at all. Service was good, maybe even a little overly-attentive at times, but friendly. The food and drinks were AWESOME. Lots of options for all dietary preferences. I loved the mushroom toast and fried polenta. read more

The food was amazing. You must try the lamb meatballs as an app. They were super tender and the ricotta sauce was my favorite part! I ordered the ravioli, loved the flavor and the crunchiness from the nuts. My husband got the lobster donut also very good, you need to order the fries with it. It had a zesty powdered that i've never had before. The cocktails were good only thing is that they were too sweet for me. And our waitress was very polite and nice, she did a great job. Would definitely come back to try other things on the menu! read more
We stopped in on opening night a few weeks ago because we heard the hype! And they were right. Staff was awesome and welcoming, and for a new restaurant, I was so impressed about how they knew so much about the different cocktails and menu items. You don't find that very often. I'll have to go back and try more food in the future, as we had already had dinner before this so just snacked on cocktails and some light apps. I got the plot twist- reposado tequila,sour cherry, maraschino, walnut, lime, pistachio foam. Let's just say I was intrigued. And OMG was it amazing. I would've never thought to mix those things together. We also ordered the Hamachi Crudo and the whipped ricotta. Yes yes yes!!! Also ordered were the salt and vinegar fries with Calabrian honey aioli . Can't go wrong there. Will 100% be back. read more

I'm so glad to have visited this new restaurant! Very affordable and incredibly genuine staff. My partner and I couldn't snag a reservation online and ended up getting bar seats by walking in. Loved everything we tried. The cocktail and martini menu is so fun--I'd go back in a heartbeat. Great for dinner, but can also easily be a stop for a quick drink and bite. Would definitely recommend getting the full order of the salt and vinegar fries--that honey aioli is amazing. Lamb burger and pork belly skewers were great too. Would recommend coming by! read more
Definitely a place to go! We went last night and everything was spot on. Starting with a warm welcome to a big booth. Morgan was a our wonderful server. We ordered the lamb meatballs, mushroom toast, shrimp cocktail to start then added the Salt & Vinegar Fries... WOW, the fries were outstanding. So much so, we ordered the Fish n Chips because it came with fries. I'm a sauce girl and I could drink the Calabrian honey aioli that came with fries. Fish was perfection with the crispiest coating ever and white tender fish inside. Delicious Lamb meatballs came sitting in whipped ricotta which I used on the mushroom toast. The toast had a great combination of flavors that I loved. Shrimp cocktail was more typical except the shrimp were more tender, I'm guessing because they use shrimp ceviche. I can hardly wait to go back and try the crab pasta and lobster donut. But, better make my reservation before I post this. Went to Extra Wavy for dinner.... What a tremendous meal we had. We were too hungry to take pics of the first course, the cacio e pepe veg and pork belly skewers (both absolutely tremendous!!!!). The pork belly melted in my mouth and the sauce it was cooked in was delicious. The cowboy confetti cocktail was like drinking a rainbow. So many flavors hitting at different times. We shared the crab pasta and the fish and chips.... Lots of crab and delicious breadcrumbs on the rich creamy pasta. The fish's batter was the best I've had outside of the UK. The batter was perfectly crisp, not oily, and the fish was flakey and delicious. I didn't even use the tartar sauce.... And the salt and vinegar chips were addictive!!!!! No room for dessert. Highly anticipated third opening from one of my favorite restaurants, Yellowbelly. Very seafood focused menu, we started with their baked oysters which were small, and kind of went as quickly as they came. The hamachi crudo was a vibrant opening bite, but proved to be too citrus dominant. A lot of the rave is going to their lobster donut, which was honestly pretty good, but about halfway through, you sort of just wish you were eating a lobster roll instead. The donut is by far the best part of the dish, though. Best thing we tried, I would say, were their skewers. Well executed and the flavors just came through super well. I think this was a solid showing from the restaurant group, but I really don't see a reason why you wouldn't just go to Yellowbelly instead. WOOOW this food sent me into a spiral of flavor fantasticality. Weeks leading up to my visit, I had heard tales of the crab pasta from TikTok. My thoughts were consumed by her. She was in my dreams. Today, my dreams came true. Although, as breathtaking as she was, nothing compared to grandmas chocolate cake. It was like nothing I have ever tasted. I don't know what the hell grandmas got goin on, but holy moly that woman knows what she's doing. She's a genius. We also got happy hour drinks, popcorn shrimp, and a lobster donut. All amazeballs. Our server was Derek, what a guy! He did a wonderful job, super attentive, kind, and professional. He gave us little post cards and we love them. I loved the vibe of Extra Wavy. It's cute and bright. The service was good. The drinks were good. However, I was underwhelmed with most the food. Scallop crudo was tasty, but very rich (not a lot of acid). The hot honey oysters were 75% breadcrumbs with no hot honey flavor. I enjoyed the pork belly, but my boyfriend got a few really dry pieces. The extra wavy burger saved the whole meal. It was juicy and I loved the salt & vinegar fries. I'd go back for drinks and fries, but there are better places in the city with this price point. read more

Such a cute spot with an extra vibe!!! Feels like you are transported to a coastal town with fishing nets on the ceiling decor and the cute wallpaper and logo on their drink glasses. Fancy touch. Sister restaurant to Yellowbelly and lazy tiger and you can definitely see similarities here. Their food is more seafood heavy which is excellent . We tried hamachi crudo which was very refreshing, baked oysters , lobster donut which was surprisingly light and crab pasta which was amazing. Alll pastas and breads made in house so super fresh. Their standout was the salt and vinegar fries. Love loved it!!!!! Never take it off the menu!!! Definitely recommending this place to others drinks are creative read more
