BrickTop's is such a nice spot for a date night or to celebrate a special occasion. The ambiance is cozy and romantic, especially if you get to sit in a booth. They have a limited menu with a few rotating specials, and I loved the salmon dish that I ordered. It came with broccoli, but they were happy to sub for Brussels sprouts instead. We also got the carrot cake for dessert and it was very good served with warmed cream cheese. Overall, a great place for a special meal and can't wait to visit again! read more

We stopped in for a late lunch today after doing some back to school shopping. We asked for the patio since the weather was perfect for it. There wasn't a wait, so we were seated immediately. The patio is nice, and opens to the bar area. It was a fun vibe. I ordered the Cobb salad, with ranch. My husband had the fish tacos, and our son had the crab cake. Everything was delicious, but smaller on the portions. Since both of my guys were still hungry after finishing their meals, we had dessert. The chocolate chip cookie served warm with vanilla ice cream and a caramel drizzle, and the cookies and cream cake, which is an ice cream cake served with magic shell and whipped topping. I decided to order to go and it was very easy to park, get in and out, and on my way. I order a skirt steak and they put the sauce on the side. It came with fries. It also came with complimentary bread with butter and I go 2 little cookies in my bag! I liked how thin the fries were. The steak was good! Cooked how I like it. And I enjoyed my little extras. They were also very friendly when I popped in to get my pick up. The first round of drinks and bringing out hot rolls and butter started the meal off right. However my ribeye was topped with the house butter instead of plain butter that I ordered. Then a promised second Coca Cola failed to be delivered. Most of my ribeye and creamy whipped potatoes had to be followed with watered down Coke. So what started off well service wise also went downhill as well. Bricktops is by nature of its layout noisy, so after quite a few visits, everyone in my party as well as me adjusts. So if the service had been consistent throughout, this review would have received a higher rating. I enjoyed being with my family for the first time in two months, but it would have been a much better experience if not for the issues. Who knew Bricktops was the Sunday brunch hot spot? The place was packed, between the after-church crowd and people just out to brunch for fun like us. Our food took forever (and I mean forever), but the staff kept us updated and even comped us a second bottle of Veuve Clicquot. When the food finally arrived, it was worth it. Not chatty; had to ask for more bread. Twice rolls with butter. Then two more after asking. I got chicken breast meal with a buttery sauce and mashed potatoes. It was tasty; $30 no other side; no salad. Hubby opted for strip steak medium rare. He said it was more chewy than he expected. Appetizer was a slightly sweet shrimp dish. I don't eat seafood; hubby said it was good. Two glasses of wine, two entrees and appetizer. With tip about $140. Worth it? Still debating. I really enjoyed dining here. The environment was casual but at the same time, very classy! A group of friends and I came here for lunch on a Friday afternoon and it was very busy. There was a little bit of a wait for the food, but it was worth it. The food platings were picture perfect and the portion sizes were generous, in addition to being very well prepared. BrickTop's was an experience for sure. Food: Delicious. We had two items off their specials menu, the Red Fish and Beef Wellington. The fish was some of the best I've ever had, the seasoning was on point and the cook was excellent, I just wish the portion was a bit bigger as it left me wanting more. The broccoli wasn't much of anything, but the sauce they gave was great for dipping. The beef was also delicious, perfect Medium, the pastry was buttery and not too thick, the paste inside added a nice flavor as well. The only down side was the mash potatoes weren't as hot as I would've liked ( like my food HOT). Not Pictured: Carrot Cake: came out warm and delicious cream cheese frosting - very good - only knock is there was way to many coconut flakes on top (personal preference but also changes the texture of the dessert!) Came here for a quick bite to catch up with an old friend. We decided to sit at the bar and instead of a table. All of the bar staff are friendly and attentive. I decided to order a palm beach salad, side of fettuccine, and a mocktail. The bar tender was kind enough to mix sprite and cranberry juice together. I'm watching the amount of carbs I eat so I appreciate the kind gesture. The palm beach salad was so good. The presentation was nice and honestly I would come back to eat this salad atleast twice a week. The fettuccine was alright but not the best noodles I've had. We were a table of 6 and first a guy waited on us seemed great, but then we only ordered one alcohol because I hadn't decided yet, and I honestly think thats why he passed us off to a woman who was obviously a backup, second tier. She never brought our sodas, had to remind her. She just brought my dad's wine. We were waiting forever just to order appetizers. For a $500 dinner, we didn't put in our main course order until after we had already finished our salads, she forgot our sodas, she refilled our wines by bringing out the bottle and filling up our old glasses, that still had wine in them!!, didn't bring us the bread until after our entrées came. Also, they forgot to bring out my side of brussels sprouts and I had to remind them, and by the time they brought them out, we were all already finished with our entrées. I ordered the prime rib French dip, which was served medium rare and it came with shoe string fries and au jus. The sandwich was very big and was one of the best French dips I've had. Typically the meat is overcooked but this was cooked perfectly, moist and tender. I added cheese, because everything is better with cheese. My friend ordered the special lobster roll. We sat at the bar as it wasn't too busy yet, had a glass of wine and the white sangria (which was lovely!) we had a fairly large group of people about 15 and I was amazed that they had at least four bartenders working the bar at all times! We started with pomegranate cosmo. The cosmo was not as smooth as other places. I like it when you can't taste the vodka. I'd give the cosmo a 3.5 out of 5. Then we split the Bistro Chicken and mashed potatoes. The Bistro Chicken was incredibly tender and delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken. The mashed potatoes were the side show for this meal. I've been to BrickTop's 2 separate times now and I've ordered the Bistro Chicken both times. I haven't gotten to try some other things out just yet, but this dish is amazing! The chicken is seasoned very well, the sauce is creamy and the creamy whipped potatoes are smooth and soft. I have also had the Warm Bread Pudding with the Carmel sauce, it's absolutely to die for! One of the best desserts I've ever had! The servers were always nice in my experience, they always came around time to time to clear the table, refill drinks, answer questions while also giving us the privacy/space to converse. The place may seem to be a quiet and reserved but once you step inside it is lively but classy. You will need to speak up to talk to one another, but nothing new compared to other restaurants. Every time I go to this restaurant, I can never figure out what the big deal is. The parking lot Is chock-full and people are cutthroat about getting spaces. On a Wednesday night at 6 o'clock the restaurant opens is packed! I'm not an old person, but I still could barely hear the people across the table from me, and we were seated on the outside patio. The menu seems very small to me, with very few options. If I look at the menu and I think "well I guess I could have this or this", but not real excited about any of the options, It doesn't get me excited to come back and try more. There were seven of us at a table celebrating a birthday. From the second we sat down, before we had a chance to look at the menus, our server wanted to take drink orders. While I appreciate her promptness., She got frustrated with us because we didn't have a decision right away. Next time consider that the women at the table probably haven't seen each other in a while and might need a minute to catch up before they look at the menu to decide what they're gonna have to drink. Of the seven of us at the table 4 ordered salads and three ordered entrées. Two warm entrées came out. Then the four salads, but not the last entrée. After everybody had had their food for a few minutes, the waitress came by and said we're still working on your order. Mind you I ordered the tuna steak that is seared and raw on the inside. 10 minutes later, she came back and said I just checked on your entrée. They're still working on it. It takes a little bit longer. Not sure if she meant this as in cooking it takes longer, which would be false or that it was in a queue of cooking steaks that took longer. But it was at least 16 minutes before she finally brought out my entrée. It wasn't overcooked and there's no way it took 16 minutes to cook it. So clearly there was a kitchen issue or she forgot to put my entrée selection in when she put in all the other orders. She was apologetic, but it seemed like a lot of glaze. The rest of my table was basically finished with their food by the time I got mine and everybody felt bad that they were eating and I was not. Some of some of them wanted to wait for me to get my food, but their food would've been cold by the time I got mine. We spent over $600, but the overall service really lacked and I just don't think the food or the ambiance is worth it. read more

Bricktops restaurant in Frontenac is by far one of my favorite dining experiences. During evening time, the ambiance is perfect for a date night out. The dining booths have beautiful, modern lamps that yields warm, muted lighting. Each table is covered by a clean, white tablecloth adding to the elegance. There is an enchanting four season patio for those who prefer to enjoy the outdoor breeze during spring/summer. The patio is covered with a heavy, clear plastic in cooler weather. Everything I have ever ordered has been delicious. A few of my favorites include the beet and goat cheese salad, chicken milanese/bistro chicken, blackened ribeye, shanghai shrimp and crab cakes. Wow! We will be going back to this place. There is a huge parking lot to park so no street parking here. The place is nice dim lighting through out. Food was Great! We had a crabcake, which was fresh and light. Caesar salad was good. My husband had the fillet with a loaded baked potato. Fillet was great. I had the Chicken Milanese with fettuccine was awesome. And we had to finish it off with the chocolate chip cookie, vanilla ice cream with caramel on top. Phenomenal. Our service was Great! I don't think I'd order the artichokes again, but that just might be my personal tastes. The ambiance was very nice also. What brought my rating down from a full 5 stars was our server (SUCH a shame!). I had to get up 3 times during the evening to go and find her, or ask somebody else who worked there to please find her. We were a group of 7 (was supposed to be larger) and so the tip was automatically added. Everyone there thought the server was horrible, and I think it was because she was going to get 18% no matter what, so why make an effort.
