    French onion soup

It is in the Hilton hotel by Plaza Frontenac . French onion soup was amazing and service was great. Quiet nice dining room

When you come to a hotel you never really know what to expect. I looked at reviews and was so so but because we flew in today and we were exhausted, we just stayed here. I'm so glad we did. The waitress was THE BEST. This woman was taking orders, bringing food, bussing the tables, being the bartender, and doing checks. Holy crap! We never waited long for anything either and she just kept going. She had at least seven tables and a few people at the bar too. She was legit. Give her a raise! Food was pretty good too. Best hotel food I've had in a long time.

Salmon with lobster and butternut squash and veggies

The food here is a well keep secret. Recently I had reason to stay here was was reminded of how good the food is. So many truly outstanding things on the menu. As others have said, it is a very good burger. I love the garden salad... not so much the Caesar. The entrees are quite good... grilled salmon with lobster and veggies is incredibly tasty -I think my favorite although the pork tenderloin with Brussel sprout and bacon stir fry is close in deliciousness. Very clean and friendly, accommodating service. The fish tacos were also quite yummy -everything was fresh, flavorful, and attractively presented. I have also been here with family for a weekend breakfast and the omelets were excellent. Nice neighborhood spot I need reminded to keep top of mind.

Food and service was high quality! Had the calamari, it was very tender and delicious! Ribeye steak and burgers were cooked to perfection, and were very flavorful!

I stayed at the Hilton Frontenac during my 5 day stay in St.Louis and this was the restaurant attached to the hotel so I had plenty of visits here. On the menu was your standard bar food (potatoes skins, wings, burgers, pizza etc.) as well as pasta, steak and seafood options (prices were reasonable, appetizers ranged from $8-$12 and entrées were about $10-$25, prices are in USD). During my multiple stays here I tried the toasted ravioli, wings, potatoes skins and seafood fettuccine. The highlights were the seafood fettuccine and the ravioli. The seafood fettuccine was great (about $17 after tax), and had a very generous serving of scallops and shrimp, it even had some lobster meat included. The toasted ravioli I was told was a St.Louis specialty so I had to try it. It was a pretty good appetizer and was pretty tasty. A satisfying experience.

    Burnt, dry Mahi Mahi

Typical hotel restaurant. Very poor quality. Only positive I found is that it was not horribly overpriced. They got the 2nd star for the proximity to my room. The food: Ordered fish tacos and that was a big mistake! Mahi Mahi was burnt and dried out. Tacos were covered in sauce and impossible to pick up without getting that all over your hands. Salsa, chips and quac came with it. The chips were stale! The quac and salsa were decent but no doubt from a jar. I'm not sure if they even have real cooks here. Come on man! Would you serve your mother this?

    Dinner

I ordered the salmon and a caesar salad, both which were excellent. I sat at the bar and service was very good. Food was also ready quick.

A decent place to eat inside Frontenac Hilton. Bar chips, toasted ravioli and chicken breast for entree were very good. Their chicken wings were just ok, a bit bland.

We were at the Bar & Grill. The menu had a full range of prices and items. Prices were in line with the caliber of restaurant. The service was friendly and attentive, but not too bothersome.

Food, service is always quality. They need to work on manners & service in the bar on Friday evenings as well as wine selection.

We enjoyed a bottle of wine in my group, and ordered the rolls. I don't know what it is about these rolls but they are insanely good. They literally melt in your mouth- they're a must! I had girl dinner with a steak salad and French fries. The steak salad was SO good. All of the ingredients were fresh and my steak was cooked perfectly. The dressing was home made and was thin, not a huge fan of thick ranch dressing. Our server was awesome and so welcoming. She had a great sense of humor and we really enjoyed being served by her. I highly recommend checking out 801 local if you haven't been, you won't be disappointed!

It took a while for the waitress to acknowledge us. I ordered a coffee and the chicken and waffles. Chicken and waffles were okay but needed more syrup or hot honey with them. I would have asked for more but the waitress never came back to check on us after the food came. Coffee was okay, but I wasn't offered a refill until we were done with our meal and getting our checks. $3.50 for 1 cup of black coffee is a bit much. When we got our check, we had to wait a while for the waitress to come back to split it for us, I always find it strange when they don't ask. Overall not a great or awful experience but I have def had better.

There was no place to check in for a table and there weren't separate lines for eat in and carry out. I got there first and didn't want to order before my friend got there. I saw an empty table so I sat down to wait. I was nicely told by one of the workers who was carrying around table numbers that I needed to be assigned a table number first. It was unclear when or how to get assigned a number, maybe when you order? Although the line moved pretty quickly it kept growing so when my friend arrived I ended up ordering online. Then I had to ask for a table. I wish they had clear signage or some way to inform about the process. I had the flying avocado turkey wrap which was fresh and delicious, although I didn't taste any avocado. Also ordered the green chili queso with chips which was great. I placed another order to go to take the Cajun shrimp boil home for dinner. It was good, too, although I should have had the hot dish for lunch and taken home the cold wrap. I'd like to try the avocado toast. Next time I will stand in line and order.

I had my first dinner of my stay at Olive + Oak, and it blew me away from the moment I laid my eyes on it. From the unsuspecting street outside, the giant windows glow with the warm, sparkling light from within. An elegant dining room with a beautiful bar and a good amount of hustle and bustle. I felt like I was at an upscale New Orleans joint. Very cozy. Service was just as beautiful. Our server was extremely nice, new the menu backwards and forwards, and rattled off the nightly specials without hesitation. And on top of all of that, when we were getting some stuff to-go, she threw in more bread for us! You can't train that level of service. That's just a good person. Onto the food. We started off with the Blue Crab Gratin (calabrian chili, celery + pretzel bread). This was ooey, gooey, cheesy, delicious, had a fair amount of crab in it, had a nice little kick, and the sliced, crunchy pretzel bread dippers were exquisite. Something seasonal that isn't on their menu anymore, we ordered an Okonomiyaki, which is a savory Japanese pancake, basically, covered in sauce. Wow, this thing was done well. Very reminiscent of the authentic thing I've had in Japan. Very nice. Another dish that isn't on the menu anymore, the Catfish dish. It was slightly Asian and on top of some sort of risotto rice. I can't remember exactly, but I do remember that it was very well cooked, had a nice char. An eclectic dish that came together very nicely. I also got to try some of the Rabbit Crepe (port wine braised rabbit, blueberry, fennel, arugula + kenny's bleu gouda crepe). Some people might shudder at the idea of eating rabbit. Those people need to grow up. Rabbit is one of the most succulent, delicious meats out there, and in this wonderful flavor combination, in a crepe. This chef is genius. I could have downed two of these things. We finished off the night with the recommended Cloud Cake (vanilla chiffon cake, coconut pastry cream, coconut + whipped cream icing). This thing was de-ca-dent. A nice, thicc sponge, a very coconuty cream, and a whipped icing with lots of coconut pulp in it. So heavenly. Overall, my socks were blown off. Not only does St. Louis have good food, this was a better meal than I had in Nashville and Kansas City. Who would have guessed. I would love to come back.
