I paid $300 to ship a package to Europe -- nearly three times what the post office would have charged ($120). A month later, the package was returned to me. When I investigated, the post office explained that Box Bros uses a third-party vendor for overseas shipping, and that vendor sent the package back. When I brought the returned package to Box Bros, the employee on duty was sympathetic but said there was nothing they could do. In other words: I paid $300 for a service that was never completed, and was told I was on my own. I ended up shipping through USPS for $120, bringing my total cost to $420. I returned to Box Bros seeking a refund. The owner acknowledged the issue and promised to make it right -- possibly a partial refund or store credit -- but was vague about the details. That was over six months ago. Despite multiple visits and assurances from staff that the owner would reach out, I have never been contacted. **Bottom line:** Box Bros is still a great spot to buy boxes -- it's the best option in the area for that. But I would not recommend using their shipping services. You'll pay significantly more than USPS, UPS, or FedEx, and if something goes wrong, don't expect a resolution. One star, because they promised to fix this and never followed through.

The owner says my original review is false. First, I don't know if the young man I interacted with was the owner Rondal at that time. Second, such a delay may convey the ineptitude of the owner, but more important, would the owner, if the same young man, remember the event 5 years ago with so many customers since?! And if Rondal was not the the young man whom I interacted with, how would Rondal, the owner today say my review is false! My review in 2019 IS TRUE TO THE LETTER, and the poor interaction is what prompted me to write the review. Here is my review at that time: "I went in to mail a package. After Rondal took my package, I asked for a receipt. He said he doesn't give receipts because he is not a UPS store. I said, you took my package, what if it gets lost, I have no proof you received it and sent it. He said, and i quote, "That's not my problem" in a disrespectful way! I was taken aback by such rudeness, lack of good business attitude and a lack of gratefulness that I was using his business. I won't use the business again. If the owner reads this, please contact me, as Rondal [if the young man] would only refer me to his business card on the desk." The card did not give the name of the owner of the business. If Rondal the owner is the young man at the time, then maybe he has learned more respect for his customers. I still give him a one star because his 5 year delayed response on yelp conveys complete defenseivness denying everyting I reported rather than a business apology of the poor behavior at that time.

    Our experience with Cal Van Lines has been a nightmare. They moved our stuff and it arrived…read moredamaged, crushed, and with 2 boxes missing. I asked for discounts and they repeatedly told me no and they do not care. Our moving company, Colonial, contracted the job to them. On the phone, we were quoted 5-10 days to move our belongings from Houston to California. We paid the $1600 deposit. On January 2nd, 2022 our movers showed up. They told us an 18 wheeler couldn't fit there and they need a special shuttle to get our belongings for about $400 extra even though our previous company used an 18 wheeler and just parked it on the street. Then, when they showed up we realized the job had been contracted out to a small mom and pop mover called Cal Van Lines (we were not given a heads up about this). AFTER loading our stuff that day they told us our stuff would arrive in 10 days because they had to go to Florida first. (Houston- florida-california???). On January 18th we got multiple calls from Colonial saying our stuff would arrive that day. I reserved the freight elevator but never got a call. I called Cal Van Lines directly and they told me that was completely false, that the van was currently in North Carolina, the driver had covid, the route had been impacted by winter storms AND the driver would be making a stop in New York before going to california. ??? I just got a call from them extending my delivery date for a FOURTH time. It is currently February 2nd, 2022. This marks one full month sleeping on the floor or an air mattress. I have had to repurchase my bed, pillows, pots and pans, utensils, clothes, and everything I need for a working setup from home (chairs, everything). Thank god I do not have kids that I would have to put through sleeping on the floor, and that we are young and healthy, but imagine another customer with a disability, or who is elderly, getting this kind of service from Cal Van Lines. Please do not use their service. They have an F rating with the better business bureau and the representative I spoke to said he is well aware of that and not trying to change it.

Frequent emails and phone calls regarding my impending pick up, and that's where it ended. After not hearing from them for over a week, I started calling wanting to know when my cross-country move would be completed. My items were held somewhere until they could be weighed and the final cost could be determined. Then apparently after the items were placed in a truck and started their drive cross country, my rep ALEXIA could not , would not give me any possible date/ time frame as to when the delivery would occur.... I had to call them every day, and was told I would be updated every other day regarding timeframe etc. Finally, my items were delivered three days after the very last possible day in the range given which was just shy of FOUR weeks after pick up. Then the driver calls me 3 hours before delivery After the company called me the day before saying the driver would be there late afternoon or the following day. Luckily, I was able to be there. There was a leak in the truck big enough to damage several boxes, including two that needed to be replaced by the mover with new ones.Several items were ruined, including irreplaceable artwork from my children. Two weeks later, the company has not appeared to make any attempt to locate my six missing boxes, including the most important one which contains irreplaceable photos of my deceased parents, and childhood photos of mine and photos of my children from birth on ....UNACCEPTABLE. Use another company that cares....They would rather try to pay me off with a "resolution specialist" that look for my missing items
