This is my second time using Public Storage. The first storage unit I rented was located in Rosecrans. That facility was clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. This second facility is the same. I was able to move my stuff in within a days notice. The staff are friendly and understanding of my needs. I scored on the price/sq ft of the unit that I rented thanks to their help on finding me the best deal. Both Public Storage facilities have nice, clean parking lots. The restrooms are clean! Run away! Elevators break down more often than not, really sucks if you have heavy items anywhere other than the 1st floor. Not to mention they increase your bill every month. Public Storage - Broken elevators - Self Storage Near Me - Gardena, California

The location itself was in need of renovation. The elevator broke down one weekend - at the end of the month- and patrons had to move out utilizing the stairs. There was no urgency to repair the elevator or provide details to the customers. Additionally, the office hours are misleading - there numerous times that I've arrived at 8am, 9am, and 10am with staff onsite but refusing to answer/open the lobby door. The lot is always clean, the corridors smell like bleach, and the location was always clear of debris. The value did not justify the monthly costs; I feel that the cost was too expensive and the annual increase for the same service was unreasonable. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! First, customer service training is needed for the staff!!! Attitudes are nasty and they're impatient when questions are asked. Next, I started the service with $160 monthly fee, and the monthly fee has now gone up over 200% now paying $390.00. I then reserved a smaller unit, only to have a mix-up because someone else broke the tag and used it. I am out of town and I tried to have my "authorized user" handle the move, but my authorized user was unable to get into the "new" storage to move some things in. "Authorized user" means nothing...but my authorized user was able to move my things into storage initially. It's a racket and joke for sure. But one thing for sure, they never refuse my payments!!! Try to talk to them nice and they come at you with an attitude. Also beware if you don't pay your month they'll break your lock that you purchase for almost 30 dollars. Is pathetic. This was my first time doing anything like this and big shout out to Angie, Danielle, and Tiana for their commitment of having extraordinary customer service. The place looked fairly new and clean, plus everything was organized. Angie was extremely patient with me (and my son) as she gave us a brief tour. What was even more impressive was that she was just visiting from another location. And what made this place stand out to me the most was all of their smiles. Danielle (the manager) and Tiana was very courteous and helped me out a lot. All of these ladies deserve recognition for being such great representatives. So I encountered a really bad experience here. I came in to drop of some stuff and make a payment. Everything was going well until I was at the elevator waiting for quite sometime. It was until someone told me the elevator was out of order and that it has been like that for two weeks!!! I was so upset because the ppl in the office did not bother to let the ppl know of this as courtesy!! I couldn't go back home with everything and to top it off, I'm on the third floor with a 3 year old!!! After this and the fact that it's dirty, I'm thinking of relocating to another public storage. read more

I was done with cart and I ask for Id back the door was lock and in I had to call on the phone jus to in back to get my I id .

The receptionist are very immature. They sits in the lobby area talking amongst themselves while customers are waiting. As a customer I asked to use one of the carts that was locked up. They claimed not to have the keys that a customer has them. So I asked them do they have any control over people walking off with the keys. Also do I have to wait on someone to turn in a key while the other 2 carts are just locked up while I need to empty my truck as well. So finally I convinced another customer to turn in his key so I could use the cart. So I drove off with the key. When it was time for my last trip. They the receptionist decided to unlock the cart that I had the key to. Then take the cart to the office. So I go to the receptionist and asked for the cart to unload the last of my things. He tried to lie and say I left the cart half locked. Then he said to me just because the other customers walked off with the keys, I didn't have too! I told him that he wasn't concerned earlier when I asked to use the cart at 10:30 this morning when it was 2 carts locked up and no keys was available. So you're just playing games. read more
