Been a customer for years the negative is the hours they say they open sometimes they don't be open if you get there and they supposed to be open also they constantly go up on the units every couple of months rent increase what 2 to 3 times a year which is ridiculous especially if you've been a long time customer there. They are higher than any of their other facilities I have checked out why I don't know but seriously they need to really stop doing that to customers. I have been a customer for about 2 years. In that period I have had the following problems: 1. my trailer has been run into twice, with no help from their surveillance cameras. Total damage about $1600. 2. Have been threatened with eviction because I didn't remove a vehicle next to my trailer which wasn't mine. 3. Threatened several times with mandatory insurance, even though I had provided proof of insurance. 4. Been called by several names in emails which are not mine. 5. When I confronted the manager about these. He just shined it on and said he didn't mean it. I have since found a better facility for about a 100 dollars per month less rent. read more

This place is horrible. My 5th wheel trailer was hit, $3300 worth of damage. When I asked management for footage from the surveillance camera footage, she said that since I didn't know the exact date of the incident, they could not provide it. The place is dirty, and they have guys working on vehicles there at all hours of the day and night, yet we only have access to our trailer at certain times. To top things off I just received notice that they are raising my monthly storage fee $45 a month, because of operating expenses! What a joke. Still need to take our trailer for repairs, then it's out of there! If you value your vehicle, store it someplace else! read more

Had a storage here. They lack cameras. Only a few outside. No cameras inside. I had a good lock on mine. And someone cut the bracket to get into my storage to steal my things. The cameras caught nothing. The torrance pd officer that did my case said they have constant break ins. Not to mention they dont help you with the insurrance claim. I been dealing with mine for months and they keep asking for a ton of paperwork. Wouldnt the police report be enough. read more

The service was great, they were able to find a available storage unit for us right away; but the only thing I wasn't happy, was there was no natural lighting in that particular area, we needed to use a flashlight or wait until the overhead lights came on in the building. Rented a storage unit here a few weeks back and I couldn't be happier. Although they do not have climate controlled units, they provide a CLEAN, indoor space for your belongings. We rented a 5x10 and wow it's huge. They also honored a heavily discounted online price for two whole months! They let us use their truck free of charge 1 month after we rented and have always been very easy to work with. We have had a great experience we will definitely keep using them! read more

DO NOT STORE YOUR RV OR CARS at this storage location. We been a customer for 2 years. They raised their prices but provide no security as advertised or as stated in their contract. We had 2 separate incidents that occurred in this facility. The first incident our battery was stolen from our RV. It was brought to management attention. The 2nd incident was discovered on 3/17/18 as our RV was side swipe and damages over $1500. Monique (assistant manager) was rude and did not care about it. She said the cameras are not facing our RV. So I asked her are the cameras fixed or moving. She said they are only fix cameras so no camera ever covered the area of our RV. We are paying the same high monthly fee as RV's who have 24 fixed cameras facing them. We were never told or indicated in our contract that they were fixed position cameras and our RV will never have a security camera position that way. That is so wrong and bad business. It makes me wonder why our RV is continue to have things happen to it. Everytime something occurs, they say "Our camera isn't facing it or capture it" They say to contact your insurance. This is poor customer service because they are advertising 24 hour surveillance. Do not believe them because they will just reply that the camera did not capture it. Monique (asst manager) has poor customer service and was never apologetic. All she says is it's not our responsibility. This storage facility raises their monthly fees but its not worth it. You would think they would add moving or more surveillance cameras but they don't. It is time to move our RV to another storage facility due to this poor unsecured facility. Don't let them suck you into storing your RV or car because you are on your own if something occurs to it. Remember....false 24 hour video surveillance is advertised. It looks good when you walk into their office and they show video cameras. They won't help you if you need to find out who damage your RV. We should of read previous posted reviews regarding the same complaint. Instead of raising your fees....install video cameras as advertised and provide security as stated. First of all, this place is quite spacious, and IMMACULATE. Seriously, we went to some other storage facilities that were absolutely disgusting. Also, pretty much every other facility we looked into had much smaller hallways. When the manager gave us a tour, I believe she said there are over 600 units of various sizes - they also have the space to accommodate the storage of large vehicle. Speaking of the manager, Amy was great! She gave us a complete tour of the facility, showed us the various sizes of units, explained hours of operation and hours that customers can access their units, answered all our questions. When we're ready to rent a unit, this is definitely the facility we're going with. read more

How anyone can rate this business with more than 1 star eludes me. They raise rates and fire the maintenance man so trash builds up on top of your storage. You have illegals working on tractor trailers, but don't do it yourself they will fine you. What a pit...stay away at all costs, you can find cleaner cheaper storage locations, and where ever you go management will be much more responsive. I have been a happily loyal customer of instorage for over 15 years, the staff has always been very courteous and helpful. The units are always clean and they have tight security. The hours are wonderful and convenient for me for making payments and stop in whenever I need to go into my unit. I also like the fact that they let you know when they will not be open (holidays, etc). Monique is always so friendly and pleasant, she is very efficient. I have written other reviews and this is truly the only negative one I have written. We have been with In Storage in Torrance since 2007. It seems that would mean something, but it doesn't. Our rent is always on time. They have continued to raise the rent yearly, which amounts to about $12 - $15/month increase year after year. I have received a notification in the mail each year regarding the increases until this year, I received no letter. I open all my mail so it wasn't missed. I paid the rent on time a week ago, as I always do and made a rare visit to the locker yesterday to pick up a Birthday gift I was storing for my girlfriend. I followed someone in the gate and soon realized I couldn't get into the building and my storage locker. I had been taken off all doors to the facility. I couldn't get out with my car either & in a panic, when someone else left, I exited behind them. I went to the office because I was clueless as to what happened & thought I had fallen off the doors accidentally. The man at the desk was not at all kind and told me I failed to add this years increase of $13/month to my payment a few days before, so they locked me out. They didn't waste any time cashing my check in excess of $250.00, but that wasn't enough to allow me entrance, or just the fact I have been a customer for 9 years. I guess a phone call or the benefit of the doubt would have been too much to ask. It was only 6 days after I had paid the rent. For all I know, they could have locked me out the 2nd day. No understanding at all as I stood there amazed. He told me "Corporate" took me off the door, but it took him less than 30 seconds to put me back on when I gave him the additional raise in rent . I have all paperwork since 2007 including the regular increases in the rent. We are paying $708.00 more per year than when we started in 2007. Think of it and there are probably hundreds of units. They say it's to cover additional costs. What possible costs? Sure isn't to take care of the facility or for kindness & people skills training. Or, when horrible tar-like gunk came under the divider wall from the next unit and ruined my Vintage Banjo case, there was no offer of compensation or apology. I let it go and shouldn't have. When we started with them, there were a few wonderful employees who cared, but that's just a memory. I felt compelled to let you know it might be a good idea to pass this one by. I'm sure they know that moving is a real hassle and a lot of work so people will keep paying the rent they demand, rather than move. It's unfortunate when the bottom line is all that matters & not customers who are the reason a business exists. Sorry for this long, drawn out explanation. Actually, I could even write more about another fee, but will spare you. read more
