Do not sign anything on their first visit via ipad. Look over your documents that they email you first. Shop around. Their bid was very high. They insist on payment in full when they start your flooring. Try to get answers on any questions from their corporate office is pretty much impossible. So what if you have an issue? No recourse. Do your homework before deciding on them. Our sales guy said one thing and our documents said another. A lot of double talk. Beware my friend. read more

Where do I begin? They never showed up on time for the installation. They lied over and over about why they where late. To include not buying enough materials. They put hammers in my walls in almost every room as seen I. Some of these images. Then they tried to fill them with non paintable caulk. Then they put a non flush piece at the top of the floor creating a tripping hazard. We have called and complained numerous times and never got a good response for them not doing there job. They sent out a person to "fix" the tripping hazard. As he showed up he said he didn't bring any caulking to help with the stairs and told us if we wanted it fixed right we would have to go get the supplies. I paid o we 17k for a complete home flirting job including leveling the floor and baseboards. And this is the shit I got from them. Almost all rooms had the baseboards messed up and not replaced right. And again trying to contact the so called help line is impossible. No one picks up or returns calls and I'm left with "ticket numbers" and zero follow up. read more

Did not show up on installation day. Did not call to let me know. After three phone calls, they want to install 7 days later. My furniture was all broken down. I am a senior and a recent widow on a fixed income. They won't return my deposit! Horrible experience. Buyer beware. read more

Scheduled and paid for an appointment and no one called and no one showed up. I tried calling the local office the day of, and after the appointment date and no one picked up the phone. Called corporate office four times over two days and they said "we left a message with the installation manager and they will get in touch with your about rescheduling." Never got a call. Corporate office was unwilling to offer me any kind of compensation for my time lost. Something is seriously wrong with this place, stay away. read more

Had laminate flooring done. The laminate scratches easily when you move furniture around. My baseboards were chipped in several areas. And the installers didn't speak fluent English to communicate effectively. I wouldn't have posted a poor review if customer service would have reimbursed me a gift card or something for my troubles but it was an oh well response from Clarissa the customer service representative. Felling disappointed. read more

Horrible, horrible, horrible! I had ceramic tile removed and plank flooring installed. Day one went well - supervisor spoke English, tile was removed by end of day (bedroom, kitchen, laundry, bathroom and entry). Before leaving the supervisor told me his 'best installation crew' would be back in the morning. They were 2 1/2 hours late. Three people - no one spoke English. I tried using a translation program and they all just shook their heads. Floor install went fast and looked great. Then they took the old baseboard and tried to reinstall it! It was chipped, broken and split. I tried to call Empire - 'leave a message and we'll get back to you'. There was white caulking smeared on the walls, all over the baseboard and on the new flooring. At end of day, without being able to communicate with them, they wanted me to sign off on the work. I noted the baseboard was deplorable! As soon as they left, I called my bank and stopped payment on my $4,000 check. I figured that would get their attention. In the meanwhile, I continued to leave messages every day for Customer Service and Installation. No call backs. Install was on Dec. 7, 2021. Never received any communication from them until Dec. 23, 2021. When I asked why it took so long, I was told that she was only one person and she had more than 300 complaints to deal with! I took more than 30 photos and emailed them to her. She did respond in a few days telling me the baseboards would be replaced with new 4" baseboard. We scheduled a day and time - they never showed up! Showed up at 11:00 the next day and handed me a phone with someone on the other end that spoke English. He wanted to know what they were supposed to do - ????? After I told him it was to replace all the baseboard, he said, 'No. We don't do that. They told us to just clean up'. They had no material. They had no idea what they were supposed to do. They called and put the warehouse manager on the phone, and he had no idea what I was talking about. Finally, it was agreed that they would return the next day with the material and remove the old, damaged baseboard and replace with new. They were to be here at 8 a.m. Never showed up until 10:45 a.m. I called Empire to find out what was going on and, once again, could not speak to a live person. Also, when they removed the toilet to install the flooring, they used a new, $30 bath towel to stick in the soil pipe smearing wax ring debris on the towel that can't be removed. Don't use Empire! read more

I'm writing this review as an update to my previous review on 7/19/2013. Empire Today did nothing to take responsibility for their installers who stole a hand gun and a watch from our house. Rebekah C. from Empire Today who responded to my previous review must have an incredibly busy job as she posts the same canned responses and empty promises to the myriad of complaints that Empire Today has on every review forum imaginable. Empire Today hid behind the fact that Chandler PD would not pursue the case. Rebekah even lied to us and told us that Chandler PD told them that we had decided not to press charges. Absolutely incredible. Chandler PD's investigation consisted of them talking to Empire Today's Head of Loss Prevention. Of course he told Chandler PD that his internal investigation turned up nothing. Empire today successfully weaseled their way out of a BBB complaint and a complaint filed with the Arizona Attorney General due to it being a criminal matter. I'm sure they are sending out the same installers who they don't even employ. They contract out the work to an installation company. Zero Accountability, Zero Standards, Zero Integrity. Don't hire Empire Today. Find a local company that has integrity. read more

I give this by company a 0 rating. They are horrible!!!! Do NOT USE Empire! They promised to have my carpet installed on a Saturday and I had to disassemble the entire room, tv, stereo systems, etc and the filthy workers showed up after 1 pm and said they couldn't install and that they didn't have enough carpet. You cannot speak to anyone with any common sense. The customer service is absolutely awful. They have no idea where there installers are at any given time and will never call you back. I have asked multiple times to speak to a manager. My room is still messed up and I'm waiting in limbo to hear from anyone. Don't use this company read more

Horrible to deal with and horrific in getting any service or repairs. their scheduling is none existent. There have been multiple problems that would fill this comment section,Try and call and there's the runaround, even got hung up on while there were checking on why installers had not shown up.the most recent today , I was advised by a recording and later by a person that a repair was to happen between 11 and 1. i called at 2p and they couldn't even get a hold of the installer and said they were going to pass the information on. That's of course after my day was rearranged for this work. Do NOT TRUST ANYONE from this firm. read more

I have used empire today several times over the years and each time they meet my high expectations. There was a mistake made on one of those occasions and it was fixed within 12 hours and at no additional cost to me. As a business owner I understand that mistakes are made and the most important thing is that when they are made, the company needs to take responsibility and fix it in as little time as possible at no additional cost to the client. Empire does this very well and I praise them for it. My rep at Empire is Joe Schwab and I highly recommend him for all your flooring needs. read more

My home is 1300 sq. feet. I decided I wanted my entire home in laminate flooring. I called Empire because they were having a 60% off special and their ads boasts next-day installation. The rep that came to my house was very nice and professional. However, after measuring the floor she informed us it would cost a whopping $13,000! This amount was way over budget, especially for a no-name brand of flooring. Plus, we had already removed the previous flooring and base boards so all we needed was product and installation. Naturally, we declined and the sales rep was polite an left us her card. We ended up going with Lowe's who had a .99 cent per square foot installation on Pergo and Armstrong laminate flooring. Today makes 2 weeks since we ordered our Pergo flooring and it is just want I wanted! Out the door, we paid 7k for product, taxes, delivery, and installation. Although it wasn't next-day installation, it was worth the wait to save $6,000! read more

Not only did they finish a day early but the floors look great! We are so happy with the job they did. We replaced almost all of the floors in our house so it was a big job and they first had to jackhammer out all of the old tile. Cyndy was the onsite job coordinator and was fantastic. She would tell us each day when to expect them the next day. If they said 7:00, they were here at 7:00. If they said 7:40, they were here at 7:40. Very reliable. Outstanding customer service as far as we are concerned. We would hire Empire again in a heartbeat! read more

I don't understand what the heck is going on with this company. I used them three times before -- once a couple of years ago to replace about 800 sq feet or carpeting in my upstairs bedrooms, then about 1100 sq feet of downstairs flooring in my old house which I have since sold. Then again last year to replace about 1200 sq feet of carpet with laminate flooring in another home we bought. I was extremely satisfied all three times. Then a few months ago, my GF want to replace the carpeting in the master bedroom with laminate, so we obviously called them again. The guy who came out to do measurements and the estimate did OK and we did not suspect any coming problems. He also told my GF that they will give her a $100 gift card if she provides a successful referral to another customer. Then the problems started: 1. We never had contact with these people again, despite about half a dozen phone calls to find out our installation date, etc. We called the sales guy, the manager, etc. and nobody would return our calls. 2. Then one Saturday morning, a subcontractor shows up to do the job. Luckily we were home and he did a great job, to our amazement. 3. My GF provided a referral to another friend of hers and told her friend to tell Empire that my GF provided the referral, which she did. Her friend also went ahead and ordered a flooring project from them and completed it. 4. We heard nothing for about a month, so my GF called Empire about 4 times, and again never received a return phone call. 5. She finally called the general manager and left a message telling him if he does not call back, we will file complaints with the BBB, the registrar of contractors, and the State of AZ. 6. The guy calls her back and tells her that she won't be getting the $100 referral gift card since she never filled out a claims form, despite nobody ever telling her she needed to do that. 7. She tells him that she will proceed with her original plan to file complaints. He then says that she will get her gift card, credited to our credit card, no later than Jan 4, 2016. 8. Today is January 5th and we have no credit to our credit card. 9. So we will give them TWO more days to make good on their commitment, and if they do not come thru, we will proceed with filing the complaints that we said we would. read more

My husband and I have to give Empire Today 5* because of our wonderful experience. I find most people post when things go wrong but in our case we've had a positive experience. Jim Silva our salesman was excellent in showing us and explaining the differences in products. Found him to be quite truthful. When the stair carpeting came and we didn't like it we called him and he came right over and we picked a different one. Not his fault, sometimes a small sample does not give an accurate overall color. We picked a luxury vinyl flooring for the whole downstairs. George, Chris and crew were amazing. They did a FANTASTIC job and went way above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Perfect end result. These guys were not only excellent workers but truly genuinely wonderful people. It was so nice getting to know them. Empire is so very lucky to have them working for their company read more

If you like DRAMA & HASSEL Free then STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. After that they did the worst job ever so bad a month later they had to again rip out all carpet in the whole house and install it again. The second crew came out and acted like I messed up the new carpet and barely spoke english again. They were also suppose to install new padding but didnt. This company will LIE and say whatever you want to hear then never fall through with what they say. I will never use this company again, Stay far away from this BS company. We are so completely thrilled with our laminate flooring. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is cost. I am sure we could have found someone to do it for less. But...Empire had exactly the laminate I wanted and they came to our home with samples and within a week my floors were done. The installer was amazing. They moved all the furniture and cleaned up everyday. Our home was very challenging because of a rounded sunken living room and a rounded fireplace but it all turned out beautiful. My only regret is that we didn't do this years ago. read more

Empire Today - Carpet Installation Near Me

I work in the construction industry, and there are always issues when it comes to getting a job completed. I am incredibly impressed with Empire's service from start to finish! I had my whole house done with hardwood and carpet. There was extensive demo of awful tile floors that needed to be demolished. From the start Mike was great and took his time with us to select the perfect flooring. Their install teams were fantastic! They were courteous of my family and our needs, and always showed up on time. They got the job done as fast as possible, and in four days my whole entire house has been transformed. Everything looks fantastic! Again, I do this for a living and I wish all the jobs went this well. Very happy, great job! read more

I am glad I did not read the reviews before we called Empire to come and give us a bid, or we never would have called them. I used Empire to recarpet my home and could not be more pleased!! Everything from scheduling a consultation, to choosing my carpet, to installation went smoothly. I ended up spending a bit more than I wanted, but LOVE the carpet I got, which makes it OK. The salesman was personable and knowledgeable about the product. Once we decided to go with Empire they were able to schedule our job for just 3 days out! Everything was included in the price, including the installers moving the furniture. This was a huge stress relief as we have a two story home and I had envisioned having to take everything downstairs. We were told that the work could be completed and house restored to normal in one day. On the day of installation the installer called at the agreed upon time to notify me he would arrive in 30 minutes. They arrived right on time and were courteous and professional. The installers did a beatiful job, completed on schedule, and returned our home to better than new condition before leaving that evening. I am just so pleased!! Highly recommend! read more

Let me tell you about my experience with Empire Today. First the sales man mike came out to measure and gave us a price my wife and I agreed on. Mike said if we could book a week out it would be better. We told Mike that My wife was on summer break for two weeks and it had to be done within that time . He said it shouldn't be a problem. Well come installation day nobody showed so we started calling and kept getting the run around. My Wife finally got a hold of someone who said it would have to wait until next week . My wife told them she would be back at work an nobody would be around because we both work and the agreement with the salesman was for that Thursday and Friday. So why did we not get a phone call because they knew before that date they wouldn't have any installers to do the job. So I said we will have to cancel and to make matters worst my wife had emptied out all four rooms so the install would go faster. We Told Them that and not one person tried to make it work it was like we have your money so now you can wait. I said I will have to cancel the install and I was told because we didn't cancel within three days there would be a 25% charge to us. Number one we were asked to schedule a week out and how did we know that they weren't going to show we had planned our day around them. This company is as crooked as it gets. I am working with my bank to resolve this. NOBODY SHOULD DO BUSINESS WITH EMPIRE TODAY THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY THE WORST. I DO PLAN ON CONTACTING THE BBB TO FILE A CLAIM. read more

I had mixed feelings about using Empire for our carpet needs due to some of the reviews I read, but I can honestly say I'm extremely impressed! We had other carpet companies (that came highly recommended on Angie's List) come to our house first for quotes. While they were very nice the quoted price seemed a bit high. We decided to give Empire a try. Not only was the salesperson very nice, on time, and knowledgeable. The price he gave us was considerably less than the other companies. I'm talking hundreds of dollars less. Our carpet installation happened today and the installers called us twice before coming out to give us a 2 hr and 45 min heads up. I really liked that. They were very professional and did an excellent job of installing new carpet on our stairs and master bedroom closet. They thoroughly cleaned up afterwards and showed us the completed work before leaving. I would recommend Empire Today to anyone for their carpet needs. read more

I will not give this company one star. Don't waste your hard earned money on this one. We ordered the whole house carpeted but kitchen and dining room. They used old carpet tacking. They cut rug in half in living room and it is unraveling. Places by doors unraveling. And the carpet layers used my clothing to wipe glue on and threw them in top of closet. They are ruined! One article was a sentimental gift and I am devastated. This is unacceptable in every way. Eight times we've tried to get someone out here. We even sent pics of damage. Buyer beware! read more

30 days since my install and I STILL don't have thresholds installed. I have laminate planks with large gaps in them, and when the installers came back to install the thresholds 26 days after the initial install, I caught them gluing them to my new floors and carpets. This was in an attempt to cover up the hole they drilled in my flooring in a failed attempt to install the threshold track. They did not clean up after themselves, they destroyed my baseboards, cut my carpets back 6" from the door opening, and got glue on them so they are ruined. I have called in 3 times to customer service and promised calls back from Supervisors. I had to call in again today to wait for a supervisor, who then got on to tell me they sent an email and I would have to wait 48 hours. It's been 30 days, I'm not waiting anymore, and I'm contacting my bank to reverse the charges until they finish the install and correct the damage to my home. read more

Had my consultation today and expected nothing less than excellent customer service, (given the company's history and timeless marketing). I told the sales consultant that I was in the process of obtaining 3 different quotes in order to make an informed decision. After listening to her bad mouth another major flooring company that I'm considering ("...good luck with them, they have an 'F' BBB rating."); and passing judgment on another quote I received from an independent contractor ("well, if you don't care what it looks like..."), I quickly felt the integrity of her professionalism diminishing. I found it odd that she didn't initially bring any samples in with her (she later went out and retrieved them from her car), and even more peculiar- flatly refused to provide a written, itemized quote of the estimate when I asked if she could email it to me. Instead, she scribbled on the back of a generic business card "$2800" and said "there's your quote." smh... The "quote" was significantly higher than the one I received from an independent contractor, but that didn't deter me from considering it, as I still saw value in the product and lifetime warranty. What killed the deal was the sales consultant, unprofessional at best. I made one final attempt to justify a purchase with this company by asking- how long would the installation take? Her response? "All day." I asked for clarification explaining that I would need to coordinate the install with my work schedule and she repeated, "All day." reluctantly adding, "It could be 6 AM, 7 AM or 9 AM, but probably not 11 AM. We work 6 days a week." Huh?!? On to the next one... read more

Unfortunately, Empire Today was misleading with discounts and coupons. The salesman "JIM SILVA" wasn't honest with an attitude and up sale me. However he said he would give me $240 discount and take that off when I get my receipt. The receipt came and the discount never took off and the customer service said that I was charge full price. I called and text him. No answers to it. Their customer service called and I complained to her. She had an attitude with me. I knew it was fishy when he walked it. However, I have a small single home 1655sf most of the house is title except 3 bedrooms and a small corner of the family room are carpet that needed to replace. After he measured them. An update to my review of Empire Today- Mike, a sales manager with Empire Today called to express his sincere regret with the situation. I requested a in home estimate for new carpet in my house thru home advisor. The time was set at 2-4pm. They emailed me the day of the appointment and changed the appointment time to 4-6pm. They didn't have the common sense to call me and see if they could change the time. Not everyone sits on the computer all day long looking at emails. It's 6:30pm now and I guess they don't respect possible customers enough to call them if they're going to be late or not come at all. After using Empire Today in two homes in two different states and having great results, our hopes were high, and we were happy to use Empire again at our home in Arizona. We were having carpet removed, and having Mohawk laminate installed in the family room and hallway. From our very first cancelled sales appointment, we should have known... I specifically took off work 2 hours early on the date of our sales appointment only to have the lady cancel. I wasn't able to be at the 2'nd rescheduled appointment because I couldn't take off work early a 2'nd time. Our installation was scheduled for a Saturday. We received a confirmation call on Friday. Saturday morning, we got a cancellation call. As this was the week before Thanksgiving, they installers actually came out on a Sunday. A few months later, we began noticing areas of the floor where the seams were becoming more visible and the floor was actually buckling in several areas. We called Empire, and again, after 2 cancelled appointments, we finally had someone out to inspect. She followed this up with a 2'nd inspection, supposedly by their lead installation team. They removed a section of baseboard, took a lot of photos and determined that the crew who initially installed the laminate had done so incorrectly. They were recommending complete and total replacement at no cost to us. This was confirmed by the Installation Manager. We have now just gone through our 2'nd cancelled installation appointment after clearing our calendar twice for the re-installation! We have had different excuses bright and early on the mornings of our scheduled installations 2 weeks in a row. I am both disappointed and disillusioned with the lack of service we are receiving. I want my floor replaced, but at this juncture, I also want the money I paid into this to be refunded. We have gone through a ridiculous amount of scheduling issues and flimsy excuses, with absolutely no solution. The floor if awful! While at this remote property on Monday Nov 15th a person from Empire arrived to demo tile in 2 rooms. Note!! There was no demolition for tile as we had just wanted the carpet removed and new installed in the two bedrooms. The excuse for no communication was waiting on demo that was never needed. Today is the 16th of Nov and not one supervisory person has contacted me as to why this is such a mess. Now with 2 days off of work and no contact, not sure if I will ever see my carpet. Well, we are in the middle of dealing with Empire for floor installation. They promised to install our flooring on 3/11/21. They advised that we would receive a call when the install prior to their arrival. When 11 am approached and I had not heard from Empire I called. They stated that they were NOT coming to install and needed to reschedule for 3/12/21. They stated that there was an "emergency". So we rescheduled for 3/12/21 which is today. Again, they said installers will contact us. I waited then my husband called at around 8am, and left a message. Of course there was not return call from Empire the entire day. I was so angry because we both work from home and we had rescheduled our day around this install. What makes this completely unacceptable, unprofessional and disrespectful is that NO ONE BOTHERED TO CALL US! I reached out to our representative and he stated that he would check and call me back.....NOTHING back. I called them at around 3:00pm. The install department don't pick up so I called customer service. The lady was very nice and said she could reschedule for Monday, March 15th. I said okay, and asked for a manager's phone number. She provided me with a phone number, I called an of course no answer! I left a message. What frustrates me the most is that they didn't have to common decency to call and let us know they ARE NOT COMING! When I asked the representative why we are no one bothered to call us she said she did not know. So basically, they have our money for the floors and could care less about providing us with good service. I will see if they bother to show up on March 15th. I will post an update. We need our entire upstairs bedrooms done but will not use Empire. After this install we will NEVER use them again. The sad fact is that they did work for us in 2019 and we had excellent service, installers and they finished on time. It was a large job as it was the entire first floor of the house. We also have them return in 2020 to install our 2 downstairs bedrooms, and again great service. I don't know what's happening in 2021. I'm just very upset. read more

Lots of promises and lots of no shows! I should have walked away when they didn't show up for two appointments to give us a quote for two jobs. They didn't show up for the scheduled installation for two appointments and didn't follow through with a second location installation. They promised to install for free to make up for the poor service and then changed the discount to $500 off afterwards. There are issues of carpet peeling up with one of the installations that needs to be repaired. They promised to arrive at 5PM today and again they were a "no show". I am disgusted with Empire, the empty promises and embarrassed that I continued to attempt to with work with them while they shamelessly lied and promised to "make it right". Stay AWAY! We threw good money after bad and have a mess to deal with! read more
