During the consultation, they assured me that they would use a leveler to ensure even distribution across the subfloor. We noticed after the install a lot of uneven areas. We contacted the sales rep who moved here from California. He told us it was not his problem and to work with the install manager. That person came out and told us this was normal. Unfortunately, after pulling back the flooring due to concerns about creaking and unevenness, I discovered what I believe to be substandard workmanship. The subfloor beneath the laminate is visibly uneven, with patchy leveling and inconsistent surface treatment. This contradicts their claim of using a leveler and raises serious doubts about the integrity of the installation. Laminate flooring requires a smooth, stable base to perform well over time, and what I found does not meet that standard. I'm not writing this to be vindictive--I want other homeowners to be informed. If you're considering Empire Today, I strongly recommend inspecting the subfloor before installation and asking for documentation or photos of the leveling process. Don't rely solely on verbal assurances. This experience has been frustrating, and I hope my review helps others avoid similar issues. Quality flooring starts from the ground up--literally.
