Carpet Source did it again! They'd installed new carpet in our offices and guest bedroom several months ago. We finally decided to recarpet the Primary Bedroom, and contacted Mark DeSpain at Carpet Source to get started. After a quick call letting him know what we wanted to do, he came to our house a couple of days later to measure the room. He also brought some carpet samples for us to review. Once we selected the carpet we wanted - a lighter version of what we'd used before - Mark headed back to his office and later that day emailed us the price for the installation and set up the installation date. Two weeks later his team arrived to complete the install - the same team that had completed the first installation. They arrived right on time and got to work, first removing the furniture. They called us in a couple of times to show us what they'd completed. And Mark came to the house just to check in as well. About 3 hours later, they were done. And it looked fantastic. Marke emailed us the final invoice later that day, and the job was complete. We are incredibly pleased with the the wholew process and the final install. An update to a review I made about a year ago. As recommended by Mike De Spain at Carpet Source when we bought our carpet a year ago, we made arrangements to have our carpet cleaned. I was unsure of who to use and if there were any issues I should be concerned about since this was our first cleaning, so I contacted Mike with a few questions. Mike provided me with very useful information and even took the time to provide me with a link to our carpet manufactures guidelines for cleaning and maintenance. We hired a local company to do the cleaning and, the company tried to convince us to use a "Scotchguard" like treatment on the carpet once it had been cleaned and that the cleaning process would remove "fluorocarbons" that the manufacturer had put on the carpet when it was new. That sounded a little fishy to me so, I called Mike back, and he said he had never heard of such a thing but clearly it was my decision. I thanked him and hung up. A few minutes later he called me back and said that he had called the manufacturer (Shaw) and was told that nothing that was in the carpet at the time of manufacturing would be washed out by the cleaning process we were using. I'm embarrassed to say I went to Lowe's first figuring that it'd be faster and cheaper than a stand alone shop like this one, even with all the great reviews on this site. It wasn't until Lowe's after days of repeated follow up calls to both the third party installer and to the local store, they finally told me the install date wouldn't be for 3 weeks (not even close to my 10-14 day timeline). I called the store and they came out within a couple hours to measure with samples that met my needs. Their quote was 30% cheaper than Lowe's and they were able to help me find a carpet that would be available to install within a week! Installation day went exactly as planned. Unfortunately we experienced significant water damage which required repairs throughout the home. Our 15 year old carpet and padding needed replacement so we spent much time searching for new carpeting. Since we had very little experience with purchasing carpets we spoke to family and friends, looked up as much as we could on different types of carpets and padding, then decided to shop around and look at reviews. It seemed that at larger home improvement retailers where we went first, we were dissuaded from going with the type of carpeting and padding we had decided upon, especially since their carpets had different materials and brand names, plus they did not carry the padding we wanted and we felt pushed toward materials that had many complaints on review sites. After reading the excellent reviews on Carpet Source, I stopped by and discussed our situation with Mark D..I showed him digital photos and discussed the carpet and padding we were interested in versus other options. The great thing I found about Mark was that he was focused on carpeting and not a jack of all trades retail store. Mark was very knowledgeable and spent much time helping pick out a matching color to our previous carpet. I really felt like I was speaking to someone who knew the materials and even suggested we take home a sample before deciding on the carpet to make sure it looked right with the lighting and paint in our home. Mark came out to take measurements while taking Covid-19 precautions, as did his excellent installers. The installation went very smoothly and the very personable installers moved our furniture to the sides while installing the padding and carpet, without any damage or problems. Although many people seem to favor floors over carpeting these days, if you are carpet people, our experience with Carpet Source was great and they do also offer flooring. I can't comment much on cost since we were interested in quality, but it appeared that the price for the quality carpet and padding we wanted was in the same range as everywhere else we checked, with the added bonus of a very personable, knowledgeable and experienced staff plus installers.
