I am very disappointed with my experience at Scottsdale Flooring America, and recently learned they are not a BBB accredited business which explains a lot. I paid a premium for carpet with the understanding it was backed by a warranty, and I followed all care requirements, including professional cleaning, every 18 months (with receipts to prove it). When the carpet started rippling within two years, I expected the warranty to be honored. Instead, I was told the warranty was void without proper investigation, and immediately referred to pay out-of-pocket for repairs. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue, the service was dismissive, and Todd, the store owner showed little concern for customer satisfaction. I felt ignored and disrespected throughout the process. If you are considering purchasing from this location, I urge you to think twice. If I could give a negative (-5) stars, I would. Go elsewhere; you've been warned. I had my condo re-carpeted and several areas were not properly attached to the tack strip, other areas had gaps from cutting too short, and finally not less than 3 months later the carpet was wrinkled up and too loose. Contacted them to correct their installation and received no help. Simple not possible to ask new tenants to move all their furniture out after having just moved in so Scottsdale Flooring could fix their work. Ultimately, I had to go through another vendor because Scottsdale Flooring America would not stand by their work. They never offered to fix their work and this is why I'm writing this review because I contacted them and ask for help and was turned away. So this was NOT 3 years later it was 3 months after install that the carpet needed re-stretched. My main house had similar issues that I had to call them back to fix after installation. read more

Very satisfied with the level of service, quality of product and attention to detail installing the floors. I walked in, they were helpful, but not pushy. They let me take my time looking at samples and helped me pick out different products to bring home. They also explained the pros and cons of all the products. The installers worked fast! My experience with Todd and his crew of workers was excellent. I had almost my entire house done and the previous flooring was not easy to get up. Not only did they do an incredible job with the flooring removal of old and installing new (vinyl and tile) they worked from 8 - 9 hours a day, put plastic up to help with dust, moved the furniture carefully, swept and cleaned the floors and cleaned all the mess before they left. Very helpful. Needed t-molding for kitchen remodel. Todd brought out a sample board and we choose the closet one to match our 15 year old laminate. He gave me other suggestions as well. I Wanted my husband to see it before purchasing so I took a photo to match the floor while Todd wrote up the invoice. Flooring America installed our new wood floors. They did a fantastic job! I went into the store to look at samples. Everyone at the store was really helpful. The owner came out to do the measure and give us the estimate for the floors. He had the estimate e-mailed out to me a couple of hours after he left. The price was reasonable. We ended up choosing maple hardwood in varying plank widths (4, 6, and 8 inch). They moved all of our furniture, including my antique dining room set, with great care. Their finish work is great. They removed our old baseboards and cut and installed new ones we had purchased. All of the corners and edges look fantastic. They didn't damage our newly painted walls in any way. When we bought our Scottsdale house it needed some updating. One of the last things to do was replace the tile floors. It had an off white 18 inch tile with grout lines that were impossible to keep clean. After a lot of research we settled on 18" Travertine and opted to also do the living room and the dining room. All told we had over 1,700 sq. ft. of Travertine installed. The bedrooms and the den are still carpeted. Flooring America did a good job. We went on vacation when they did the installation so they were able to move all of the furniture into the bedrooms. They put plastic over the kitchen cabinets, closet doors and hanging lights. When we came home the house was spotless. They wiped the walls, etc. down after they were finished. They did have to come back to replace some tiles and that was a bit messy. I don't know if it has to do with the grout line size (about the width of a dime) but I've had some of the grout pop out in a few spots. Easy enough to fix. All in all, it looks nice. They weren't the cheapest bid but their references checked out and the AZ Registrar of Contractors didn't have any complaints on them. I'd certainly call them in to give me a bid on my next tile job. read more

I brought in extra flooring I had left over from my great room to be matched to replace the carpet in my bedrooms. I worked with Todd who is a manager and also a sales person. We found a floor that was a perfect color match. When they came to install the floors, I took my dogs for a walk. When I returned and hour later the floors they were laying down were a chocolate brown color and my existing floors are more of a honey brown. I called the store and spoke to a sales person. Two hours later Tory/manager showed up at my house. No phone call back to keep me informed about what was going on. It was around 11 am when I saw the floors being laid were way too dark and not the color I had chosen. It was around 4 pm when the installers finally left. They sat around in my master bedroom for hours doing nothing while I sat outside with my spouse and the dogs. The next day Tory/manager calls me and tells me it's my fault because the floors ordered matched the floors in my contract. He completely agreed that the floors they were installing were a completely different color than the ones ordered/being laid down. I said don't you think the sales person wrote down the wrong wood to be ordered. He continued to say that the floors ordered were the floors in the contract. Even though Tory confirmed with the other sales people that the flooring I brought into the store was indeed what we matched up that day. He also completely agreed that the floors were totally a different color and big light/dark difference. Tory was rude from the second he showed up at my house two hours after the problem started. He continued to be rude and unprofessional with his tone. His only solution was to charge me a fee and a large one for having to restock the wrong wood that was ordered. He said be happy I'm not being a "dick" and charging you more. Worst customer experience I have ever experienced. If you chose to use this company make sure that you double or triple check your contract and compare it to the wood you picked out. Their sales person and manager Todd helped me to pick out a perfect color match. Todd just so happened to be out of town now so I couldn't speak to him. In the end they basically tried to screw me and too NO responsibility even though Tory agreed the flooring did not come close to matching my existing wood flooring. read more

It starts as an ordinary enough Easter Sunday with sunrise service. The new carpet is due in two days and clearing out closets and boxing loose items is on the agenda. The problem is that my wife will have an emergency that morning that will hospitalize her for the next two weeks and eight more times after that. Monday, a call to Todd that we are not ready and can't possibly get ready. His response of "Don't worry about it" and "take care of your wife" and "we will install the carpet whenever you are ready" were beyond priceless at the time. I said I just can't be at the hospital and home. I am not sure how we arrived at a solution where I would leave the back door open and he would send five, yes five, installers rather than the usual three but that is what he did. I come home from the hospital Tuesday night at 8:30 PM and the house is completely done. Everything is exactly where it was when I left at 7 that morning. The carpet is installed perfectly. The piece of the old carpet that I wanted was left in the garage. All details were exactly as we agreed. And a large Stone Creek audio/video unit that I was to disassemble, and never did, was right where I left it only with new carpet under it. Todd and all the others that work at Flooring America may appear to just be a flooring company but I can attest that they are more than that., They are willing to go beyond the expected and my wife and I are thankful for it. New carpet installed on our stairs and they created three holes in the walls.........also when they pulled up the old carpet, walls needed to be painted to go below the new carpet. We recently had about 1,000 square feet of our flooring replaced for our second story and our stairs (all previously carpet) by Flooring America and we could not be more impressed! From the first interaction when we walked into their store to the final minute of installation, everybody who we interacted with was professional, knowledgeable, kind, and hard-working. They helped us pick out wood laminate and new carpet that were in our budget and were still great quality. The laminate installers were at our house from 8/9 am to 6 pm for two days (Friday and Saturday to fit our schedule!), only took a short lunch break each day and cleaned up after themselves in between and at the end of installation. We moved some of our furniture as needed but they moved things around as they removed the carpet and baseboards, prepped the floors, laid down the underpad and installed the wood laminate and baseboards. The floors look great!! Better than I could have imagined. John was the lead laminate installer and answered any questions we had. The carpet installers came the following Saturday to replace the carpet on our stairs. The majority of the stairs are floating, and they expertly removed and replaced it all quickly and perfectly. They also cleaned up after themselves and the whole process only took a few hours! I would recommend Flooring America to anyone and am so glad we chose them for our project. read more

My first experience with this company a few years ago was very positive. They did my floors and my kitchen backsplash. I had them come in recently to redo my backsplash with a different tile. I was out of town during the install and when I returned found they had installed in the incorrect orientation from what I asked for. I specifically told their man when he came to my home to measure and make my order what I wanted. My daughter also told the installers when they arrived at the house. However, they still failed to do it right. The company has refused to remedy this in any way because their order guy never wrote down what I wanted specifically. Apparently you have to be home to directly supervise them because they can't be trusted otherwise. Its like ordering a meal at a restaurant and the server doesn't right it down, gives you the wrong meal and then blames you for not being in the kitchen when the meal is made.
