It was becoming increasingly obvious that it was time to replace the carpet. I started looking and was overwhelmed by sticker shock. As seniors, expensive carpet that we might not be around long enough to really enjoy, almost made us re-think our decision and just move some furniture around. Coming home one day, we noticed Carpet Closeouts hidden behind their truck and decided to see what they could offer. The place has every manufacturer, color and type you can think of and we started looking through books of samples. Dan then appeared and asked what we were looking for. I mentioned our age (obvious by all the grey hair) my hesitancy about the cost, and that I was looking for a non-loop, muddy color that could withstand our dog. I actually had a book open to that exact thing. He asked if I was committed to that particular color selection and then led me out to the warehouse. My initial reaction to the roll of pet safe carpeting he showed was that it was too gray (although it did meet the "dirty soapsuds" color I had described). At half the cost of the ones in the sample book, I realized it was perfect. I appreciated that there was no hard-sell, just multiple options and information. We gave a deposit, they offered suggestions for installers (we got a great one) and our new floors were put in a few weeks later. The color looks great, the feel is good and we love it.They carry a great selection and are very low-key. There were some really great deals on high-end carpeting in that warehouse--especially if you did not need large quantities. We highly recommend. read more

Cy, Howard, and the entire team were outstanding--knowledgeable, helpful, and easy to work with. They offered the best pricing I found in Phoenix for truly high-quality carpet and padding. Jose did a fantastic job with the installation--professional, precise, and efficient. Couldn't have asked for a better experience from start to finish. read more

We've bought both carpet and tile from Rob at Carpet Closeouts for quite some time. Initially, he worked for Baker Brothers. But when he left, we brought our business to him at Carpet Closeouts. Rob is a true professional. Instead of agreeing with everything we say, he brings his knowledge to the table. He makes suggestions that we wouldn't have thought of. In doing so, we've purchased flooring that better suited our taste. And of course, there's the price and the installation. Both have been very good. When purchasing flooring, take the opportunity to try Carpet Closeouts. read more

Very straightforward and easy to deal with. I was only buying carpet to make custom rugs, so I can't review their service, but was totally happy with the sales and selection process. Ron helped me pick out material that would be best for our application, then talked in detail about the differences in durability, fabric types, and such. Very educational and helpful. read more

Awful company that absolutely destroyed the flooring in my home. Complete waste of $12k and one of the install techs threatened me- because he installed the stair nosing incorrectly initially with the wrong type of glue and had to redo it after it all separated. From quote to completed half-ass install took 4 months and this was well before COVID IN 2018!!! I'm writing now because of the threats three years ago, and now my stairing has basically disintegrated. Barry was a dishonest broker, who left us in a lurch with stair nosing that completely started falling apart at the two-year mark! read more

I just made my second purchase at Carpet Closeouts. Great prices. Lots of options. Ron is really nice and knowledgeable and they schedule the installs really quickly. My last purchase was for carpeting a rental. Ron showed me some really inexpensive options, it was installed two days later, and it looked GREAT when the job was complete. This most recent purchase was for my own house and Ron helped me find some options more appropriate for me. The price was really fair and I had the option of a next day install. Check them out if you want a no-pressure sale, fair prices, and fast installation. read more

So happy to have found this place! I was shopping for new carpet for about 2 years and on a whim, searched in Yelp, then visited this place. Barry was super educational and took time to answer questions, and guided me to the perfect carpet. The installers were out to measure and install quickly, and were on time and communicated well. Couldn't be happier!! Spent less money than the big box (who were going to charge me for 47% more material than needed (!) and they also charged $50 to measure. You should never pay for measurements! I got better carpet due to their closeout pricing, and it was a painless process from start to finish. Highly recommend! read more

Completely different experience than going to a big box store. I was remodeling a house and putting in about 1000 sq ft of carpet. Went to Home Depot originally and they quoted me a crazy price for what I learned was a marginal carpet. Barry knew his stuff and matched me up with the right color/material type for a long lasting floor for the upstairs of my house. Would recommend giving these guys a look. They can also setup the install and negotiate pricing with installers that know what they are doing for a turn key solution. Could not be happier about my experience. read more

We have lived in our (35 + year old) home for 14 years and had changed some carpeting over the years. We had decided to change three bedrooms and the hall and began looking. We called the folks with all the TV ads, and they came with their "specials" that really only applied to their remnants and odd pieces. We knew exactly what we wanted and they promised to get back to us with their "other deals", but that seemed liked a smokescreen. We went by Carpet Closeouts and showed them similar samples of what we wanted. They came by the house and made specific measurements and advised of things to watch out for relating to entryways, moldings and padding. When we went back to see what could ordered, they did not try to push us to one item or another but LISTENED. The owner of Carpet Closeouts has been in the business for 30+ years and been at this location for about 10 years. They ordered from the Georgia factory and it was delivered about 3 weeks later after being made. The installation company who is recommended (but not on their payroll) brought the carpet, moved our heavier furniture in/out and completed the job in less than half a day. The cost of this project was substantially less than the TV ad specials and we have a better product. We are pleased to highly recommend Carpet Closeouts John J. Hogan read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND SPEAKING WITH BARRY! I am a very happy customer after Barry was very quickly able to get new carpet and hardwood floors installed in my new condo. I was on a quick timeline and he really worked with me and accommodated many of my requests. He made the process smooth as he communicated with myself, the installers, and the carpenters regularly. He is honest, kind, and reliable. I will be referring many people to carpet closeouts to visit Barry! read more

First off let me say that Barry was wonderful to work with. Very honest and made sure we were taken care of. I really enjoyed working with him. The company is very reasonably priced as well. We got carpeting, tile, and baseboards. I'll start with the carpeting. That I would rate the full 5 stars. The guy that installed the carpet (Mike) and his team were PHENOMENAL! If I could give 100 stars for them I would. Communicated about when they would arrive, arrived on time (a few min early even), professional, helpful, and courteous. They were also pretty great guys who were fun to be around and had fun personalities. The reason for the 4 stars was the tile and baseboard installers. Carlos was the main guy. The tile turned out to be installed very well so no complaints there. What was upsetting was the baseboards. When they told us they were done they really were not done and this is where I had issue. For the baseboards we were happy with the color of the primer so decided not to get them painted and have them installed as is. What we didn't know was the corners don't have any primer on them. Carlos didn't mention that. He put the corners on and they were bare wood so of course they stood out and looked different. That was one issue. The second issue was when they put the baseboards in they need to drill holes and when completed they need to put putty over the holes so you don't see them. They didn't do that either. They also had an issue getting the toilet back in. In fairness they are not plumbers however we eventually called a handyman to do that and he was surprised that they couldn't do that (needed a few new parts which we would have paid for). I did call Carlos back the next day (my husband was so busy with the toilet he didn't have a chance to look super carefully at the baseboards) and told him that how he left things was unacceptable. They agreed to come back and fix it (painted corners and put putty over holes) and Barry also said he would make sure everything was taken care of and it was. Carlos did call me even after we approved everything to be sure we were happy so that was also nice. read more

I had a great experience with Carpet Closeouts. After providing Barry with the type of tile flooring we were looking for, he provided some options and even let us borrow a few samples to see how it would look in our home! We received a quote that was reasonable for what we were asking. The installer Clemente did a wonderful job of removing the old flooring, prepping the floor, and installing the new tile. Great experience from beginning to end! read more

Barry at Carpet Closeouts was SOOOOO helpful!! I was overwhelmed when thinking about flooring options for our condo remodel... there are so many flooring places, not to mention the big boxes too! My dentist, who I've known for many years, recommended this place. I am so pleased I landed there! I did a little shopping around, honestly, not much... and thought this was going to be a gruelling project. There are sooo many options with flooring and I didn't know where to start. Barry made it FUN! He helped me put together the perfect carpet/tile combo for our condo. Top notch customer service and excellent quality at a fair price.. can't ask for more than that!! The installers were efficient, responsible, professional and very hard working. The project was done on time and the finished product is fabulous!! We're happy with out carpet, but not the installation. We visited the showroom and were very happy with a kind, knowledgeable salesman, We decided on a carpet and scheduled installation. Todd, the installer, called the night before as expected. He was nice and did a pretty good job, apart from missing a corner on one of our steps and leaving a 2x3x3 inch triangle of exposed tack strips. Sadly, though, he did not honor the installation price we were quoted. He charged us an extra 30% because he said the price was misquoted, even though the quote was for removal, padding installation, and carpet installation, and in our case the old carpet was already removed and the padding had been replaced. To recap, he charged us 30% extra for only half the work! We also later discovered that instead of cleaning up the mess in our garage and driveway, he had just swept the carpet strands into the rocks in our front yard where they require much more work and time to pick up, and we'll never be able to get them all. They continue to blow into our garage and house even a week later. I did notify the company about his spur of the moment price change, but I haven't heard back. read more
