Awful company that absolutely destroyed the flooring in my home. Complete waste of $12k and one of the install techs threatened me- because he installed the stair nosing incorrectly initially with the wrong type of glue and had to redo it after it all separated. From quote to completed half-ass install took 4 months and this was well before COVID IN 2018!!! I'm writing now because of the threats three years ago, and now my stairing has basically disintegrated. Barry was a dishonest broker, who left us in a lurch with stair nosing that completely started falling apart at the two-year mark! read more

Couldn't be happier!! Spent less money than the big box (who were going to charge me for 47% more material than needed (!) and they also charged $50 to measure. You should never pay for measurements! Went to Home Depot originally and they quoted me a crazy price for what I learned was a marginal carpet. We have lived in our (35 + year old) home for 14 years and had changed some carpeting over the years. We had decided to change three bedrooms and the hall and began looking. We called the folks with all the TV ads, and they came with their "specials" that really only applied to their remnants and odd pieces. We knew exactly what we wanted and they promised to get back to us with their "other deals", but that seemed liked a smokescreen. We went by Carpet Closeouts and showed them similar samples of what we wanted. They came by the house and made specific measurements and advised of things to watch out for relating to entryways, moldings and padding. When we went back to see what could ordered, they did not try to push us to one item or another but LISTENED. The owner of Carpet Closeouts has been in the business for 30+ years and been at this location for about 10 years. They ordered from the Georgia factory and it was delivered about 3 weeks later after being made. The installation company who is recommended (but not on their payroll) brought the carpet, moved our heavier furniture in/out and completed the job in less than half a day. First off let me say that Barry was wonderful to work with. Very honest and made sure we were taken care of. I really enjoyed working with him. The company is very reasonably priced as well. We got carpeting, tile, and baseboards. I'll start with the carpeting. That I would rate the full 5 stars. The guy that installed the carpet (Mike) and his team were PHENOMENAL! If I could give 100 stars for them I would. Communicated about when they would arrive, arrived on time (a few min early even), professional, helpful, and courteous. They were also pretty great guys who were fun to be around and had fun personalities. The reason for the 4 stars was the tile and baseboard installers. Carlos was the main guy. The tile turned out to be installed very well so no complaints there. What was upsetting was the baseboards. When they told us they were done they really were not done and this is where I had issue. For the baseboards we were happy with the color of the primer so decided not to get them painted and have them installed as is. What we didn't know was the corners don't have any primer on them. Carlos didn't mention that. He put the corners on and they were bare wood so of course they stood out and looked different. That was one issue. The second issue was when they put the baseboards in they need to drill holes and when completed they need to put putty over the holes so you don't see them. They didn't do that either. They also had an issue getting the toilet back in. In fairness they are not plumbers however we eventually called a handyman to do that and he was surprised that they couldn't do that (needed a few new parts which we would have paid for). I did call Carlos back the next day (my husband was so busy with the toilet he didn't have a chance to look super carefully at the baseboards) and told him that how he left things was unacceptable. They agreed to come back and fix it (painted corners and put putty over holes) and Barry also said he would make sure everything was taken care of and it was. Carlos did call me even after we approved everything to be sure we were happy so that was also nice. read more

We're happy with out carpet, but not the installation. We visited the showroom and were very happy with a kind, knowledgeable salesman, We decided on a carpet and scheduled installation. Todd, the installer, called the night before as expected. He was nice and did a pretty good job, apart from missing a corner on one of our steps and leaving a 2x3x3 inch triangle of exposed tack strips. Sadly, though, he did not honor the installation price we were quoted. He charged us an extra 30% because he said the price was misquoted, even though the quote was for removal, padding installation, and carpet installation, and in our case the old carpet was already removed and the padding had been replaced. To recap, he charged us 30% extra for only half the work! We also later discovered that instead of cleaning up the mess in our garage and driveway, he had just swept the carpet strands into the rocks in our front yard where they require much more work and time to pick up, and we'll never be able to get them all. They continue to blow into our garage and house even a week later. I did notify the company about his spur of the moment price change, but I haven't heard back. read more
