I went in to Carpet Depot today to try & find an inexpensive carpet remnant for my garage. I've been caring for a feral cat this past summer & with the cold weather coming on i finally earned her trust enough to sleep in my garage at night. While it's better than being outside the concrete floors in the garage still made it cold. I'd been looking for a remnant carpet to insulate the floor & warming up the room. Went to the 32 nd street location last Friday. Salesperson was helpful, not pushy. Scheduled my appointment to measure on the following Tuesday. During the store visit, we figured we could do it Saturday. Salesperson got busy Saturday, I told him we could reschedule so he wouldnt have a late night on a Saturday, he said Monday would work . He never came or contacted me Monday. (I texted him about the appointment, He said texting him was fine and a preference). I contacted him Tuesday morning, he said he " returned to work Tuesday". If Monday was not going to work, I wished he just said Tuesday. He asked when I was available Tuesday. I advised 4 pm. That's the last I ever heard from them. By Tuesday evening, I didnt even feel like its worth trying to call the office etc as I would be leery to try to schedule anything further with them. It's just such a waste of time. Purchased carpet from Carpet Depot for our condo. They measured incorrectly by 10 yards. After the installation of the carpet, we returned the extra 10 yards of carpet. They refused to reimburse us and stated their was an installation fee which was not mentioned when we purchased the carpet. It was not fair or ethical that we were charged for their mistake. We will never do business with them again and do not recommend them. read more

This place was fantastic. Went in there, ordered our carpet and got it all installed within a week. Awesome install job, price was fair and we are very happy with the results. Now for the reason they get 5 stars. I was in the process of moving out of a rental home and into my newly purchased house. I had a puppy who put a hole in the carpet at the rental home and needed to make a repair. Went to carpet depot and told the owner my story. He made the fantastic suggestion to use carpet out of the closet in the rental home to patch the hole and find a close match at carpet depot to replace the carpet in the closet. This way we have a 100% match for the repaired hole. What a great idea! To top it off he gave us about 15 square feet of free carpet to make the repairs. He did all this for us without even knowing that I was a previous customer. What a great guy and a great place. Will definitely recommend them to anyone! read more

This is one of those places that will probably continue to fly under the radar because how many times do you buy carpet?! Well my BF just bought his first house and it was in need of some gutting- carpet was the first thing to go. First off, the owner wasn't a pushy sales guy which was awesome. We told him our price range, including the pad, and he showed us the selection we could afford. We spent about 5 min there and had already made a decision after having never looked seriously at carpet (Home Depot doesn't have this kind of selection so it doesn't count in my mind). We scheduled the install a few days out and I think we spent a sold half hour laying face down in the carpet after it was installed. I highly recommend Carpet Depot if you want an honest business with good values. Phoenix needs more good businesses like this. read more

OWNERS WILL NOT HONOR PRICE THEY QUOTED. Two weeks ago we went into Carpet Depot and selected a high end Shaw carpet. Andy, one of the co-owners, wrote down the name of the carpet, what type of pad they would use and gave us this paper with a per square yard price. On the quote it said it was for carpet, pad and installation. He gave us this quote, along with his business card. Monday of this week we went back to place the order. Andy, again looked up the price and again quoted us the same price. He began to write up the official order and realized he had forgotten to include in the price the cost of pad and installation. After uttering a few expletives, he said he would still honor the price he quoted us (twice now), because he is a man of his word, even though he would not be making much profit off the job. He scheduled a worker to come on Friday to do the measure. Today, Wednesday, he calls and says he cannot do the job after all and would be much happier if we went somewhere else to do business. read more

Everyone I dealt with in the store and the installers were kind and respectful. When I had my choices narrowed down to two I asked to take the samples home overnight. Even though they didn't have extra samples for display they gladly accommodated. As promised I returned the sample Monday morning with my order. The time between ordering and installation was only a little over a week. Super happy with the carpet by Phenix and the installation is perfect. Oh! To move furniture only $1/yard?! Can't beat it. Didn't have to take a day off moving furniture or worry about my husband with poor balance or my 85 year old mom trying to move things around. Carpet Depot on 32nd Street. Charlie, Carpet Depot's salesperson was very knowledgeable, very low pressure and extremely thorough. He spent a hour measuring our 1400 sq.ft 2nd floor, steps and living room area then drew the exact room dimensions on graph paper at no charge. (Lowe's charged $39.00 then sent someone who spent 15 minutes scribbling on a legal pad. The estimator asked if we wanted the closets carpeted and where we wanted the seam to show in the living room...huh! Then it took three weeks before Lowe's contacted us with a price which was $1010.00 higher than Carpet Depot for an inferior grade of carpet and pad. By this time Carpet Depot already installed the carpet) Cruz, the installer and his three man crew were simply amazing. They were scheduled to arrive at 7:00 AM and by the time I returned from my morning run at 7:15 AM they had all the living room furniture moved out, the old carpet and pads removed and were beginning to prep the upstairs. Except for a few breaks they worked non stop the entire day. The crew was polite, courteous and cheerful throughout the installation. In conclusion, our experience with Carpet Depot, from start to finish, went way beyond our expectations. read more

DANGER! Bought carpet at 32nd St. Phoenix store. Good price, good installers, timely install and paid to have furniture moved, even liked the carpet. BUT morning after install carpet began to smell and I mean bad! Burning eyes, headache, couldn't breathe, dizzy. Tried airing out home, baking soda, steam cleaning. Long story short going on 3 weeks later smell still bad and salesmen washed his hands of the problem. Promptly slammed the phone down after my second call to store to complain about problem. Haven't been home since. Will have to pay to have someone rip it out. Be careful what you buy from this place. read more

I've been coming here for at least 10 years to carpet various rental properties in the Central Phoenix area...but I was dealt with dishonestly on the last transaction that I will never go there again!! I had carpeted a condo in 2011 and purchased the carpet at Carpet Depot and I went back in January to purchase the carpet (same exact carpet at the same price) and when I got the bill I was charged almost $200 more than the last time I went there. He had a different square footage than from 2011 and I actually had the invoice from 2011 with me to prove it. The owner got all angry when I showed him the receipt and then agreed to lower the invoice but then said he had to charge me a $150 for not having 45 yards of carpet. Meanwhile, there is no posting in the store that says $150 fee for installation if you don't have 45 yards of carpet and the salesman never told me that while I was ordering the carpet. All I can say is that I can afford the extra cost, but I don't do business with dishonest businesses so I will NEVER go back again and I will NEVER recommend them to my clients and my landlords. With the owner's nasty attitude, I am sure they will be out of business soon enough though! read more

I am not sure who Andy is but let me tell you... BEWARE!! I am a real estate agent within the area and purchased some carpet. SHAME ON ME! The 15$ a yard was "too cheap" he had told me and should have bought more expensive carpet. Let me mind you the carpet is only 7 months old... and the tacks are ALREADY coming up and poking feet (which are extremely sharp like nails). I had hammered down at least 20 tacks just about a week ago. After calling 3 different occasions and about a 2 week delay I FINALLY got someone to come out and take a look at what a terrible job they performed. Once the worker had come to the unit to see, all he did was hammer down a few more tacks for a couple minutes then left...Now luckily I have insurance because someone fell with a baby in hand because of being poked with the tacks coming out of the carpet. When someone tells you "it's not my fault you bought cheap carpet" when the product comes from their own store is just ignorant. Not to mention their horrendous customer service you just want to cringe hearing them speak down to you after listening to them scream on the top of their lungs. I will most definitely take that mans advice and not purchase "such cheap carpet" from such a dump...which is all they're good for. CHEAP CARPET = CHEAP RESULTS = CHEAP CUSTOMER SERVICE. This places has fallen way downhill. Go to HomeDepot! Went in on Sunday to buy a 12x10 replacement patch of carpet, stain on carpet. There was only one salesperson. We had a great experience with Carpet Depot! We had tried a couple of more well-known and nicer places, but we ended up working with Ed and Abe at the Carpet Depot on 32nd St. and Thomas, and I am SO GLAD we did!! The showroom is not dressy or glamorous at all, and the lighting is terrible (it s basically a warehouse), but they were kind enough to let us take their carpet display boards home for 24 hours to help us make the decision using our own lighting, furniture, etc., which we did a total of 3 times; something that at least one other place refused to do. To top it off, our carpet came much sooner than expected, and it was exactly what we ordered, cut and bound perfectly (we had a 10 x 12 piece of carpet bound for a large area rug), and delivered within hours of returning their call.
