Traveling through the Denver Airport I stopped by Elways and had a pleasant surprise. Food was good and service was great. Great place to stop in at the Denver airport if you're lucky. Got in within a 10-15 minute wait. Was originally going to go to Smashburger, but the line itself was ridiculous. I've been to Elway's once before where I got a burger which was good, but I wasn't super hungry today. Waiter gave an amazing recommendations of the steak tacos today. it came out in less than 5 minutes... faster than my drink! Delicious and will definitely be back next time for a layover! The steak was very juicy which can be hard to do in a taco. This is definitely one of the best spots in the Denver airport when you have time. If you're ever concerned, show them your departure time and see if you can make it. I mentioned I liked fruit and I think Paul the waiter went out of his way to ask them to give me more strawberries. Cheesecake was average but the attention to detail and follow through was exceptional. Excellent service. Definitely worth it if you can. Every year we layover in Denver on our return trip from Christmas. Every year we eat at Elway's. The service and ambiance are always top notch for an airport restaurant. The food is solid. This year had the Asian Chicken Salad, again. It was amazing! The miso made the sauce delicious, but the ginger and sriracha helped!!;-) great crunchy texture with the cashews and some veggie. For an in the airport steak house, it was decent. I was able to get seated quickly both times I went. Was this the best steak I've ever had? No. Was it better than the steak house in the C Concourse? The Caesar fell short, dressing didn't taste at all like the tangy classic you would expect; but the grilled chicken was great. Anything coming with grilled chicken at an airport is usually pre-cooked, dry or flavorless. The grilled chicken here was perfect & was fired for my order, juicy & flavorful. I rarely do this anymore and like to think otherwise, but I was seated in this establishment for 15 minutes and sat there without anyone saying hello or I'll be right with you. I understand that it's so busy and the world is short handed, but what pissed me off is that 2 other tables were seated after me and they were greeted almost immediately. I looked around and EVERYONE who was dining in there and got seated after me were all Caucasian. So it led me to believe that they don't think a chubby Asian like me can't afford a $65 ribeye and some fixings. I was ready to treat myself to two weeks of travels and spoil myself. First you're paying high dollar so you should expect great service and food. Well they got it half right. The service was first class. Now for my complaints. My wife and I orderded the small filets with salads. The waiter suggest some dressing I had never heard of. The dressing was great. GOOD SUGGESTION! First martini was very good made by bartender #1 second martini not very good made by bartender #2 but the star of the show was clearly the food. The service and staff were great management was amazing and understanding. But the only problem was their "smash burger". I've had quite a few smash burgers. But this was about an inch and a half of meat in thickness and a pathetic smash burger. They should probably call it their signature burger instead of signature "smash" burger. But out of everything the food was good chefs did a great job. But if you're looking for a real smash burger do not! i repeat do not go here! You will be disappointed. read more

Airport layovers are always a great reason to try new restaurants in my book. Denver airport has a great variety of options but we decided after exploring to settle down in concourse B as Elway's caught out eye. It looked very upscale and not crazy busy for lunch time. After a long walk though the airport we requested a booth to get comfortable and there were two open. The hostess said they have to keep two open at all times and we understood so we settled for a half booth. About ten minutes after being sat the hostess sat others in the two open booths. Not sure where the disconnect was on that one. We had checked out the menu before choosing to ensure there were good options to choose from. The prices seemed reasonable but when we sat down and were handed a menu the prices were a few dollars more on each item as compared to online. The waiter said it was due to airport rules upping the prices in the airport? We let him know this should be updated in line as well. There were so many items that looked great to order. We chose the ROASTED CHICKEN BREAST SANDWICH ($19.50), MUSHROOM BURGER ($23.00) and a side of fries to share for $9.50. The fries were more then enough to share. The presentation was off putting at first but the taste was surprisingly good! Through the entire visit our waiter was VERY nice, attentive and considerate of our timeframe(since it is an airport) even though we told him we weren't in a rush. 4 hours of a layover and we needed to burn some time! All in all, it was nothing to write home about but had great service and good food. read more

Airport pricing which is fine but didn't deliver. Burger presentation worst than shake shack and smash burger for double triple the price. Quality of meat may have been good if the patty was a little bit bigger to taste the difference. Fries were the best, standard. Bloody Mary was the worst, straight out of bottle thin mix no flavor or rich thickness at all. Horrible. In-house Infused vodka couldn't be tasted with the bad mix. I never thought I would give a airport restaurant 5 stars but I was completely wrong. This place could stand up to any restaurant anywhere. The service is fast, friendly, professional and attentive. The decor is what you would expect from a high end restaurant and the food is awesome! I had the bacon smash burger and it was one of the better burgers I have ever had. It was a healthy size with great flavor, perfectly cooked with white cheeses and the bacon was crispy and fresh. The fries were so good I didn't even need to dip them in ketchup!! There is a small wait to be seated, however bar seating is first come first serve which is nice. I had a connecting flight here so I decided to reward this weary traveler with some good food. Boy was I pleased! I ordered their salmon with a side of grilled asparagus and mash potatoes. First off, allow me to say the salmon was cooked to perfection. It was one of the best salmon I've had in recent memory, I took the chefs recommendation of cooked medium. The sides too...wow...I devoured everything. The mash especially was a standout, had that perfect creamy thickness. And to top it off, I got me a cup of coffee and cheesecake. Again both just set me just right. Went to kill some time so decided to try this place out. Got seated and the server came over after a couple mins. He was very tentative. Had the short rib Benedict. Server said good choice for a breakfast. Came out 10 mins later. The rib meat it self was bland, lacking seasoning and very dry. The muffin was hard to cut but that might had been my fault for using the back side of the knife. The hollandaise sauce was good, sweet and savory. The last several times I have been at DIA and tried to get into Elway's Concourse B, even though there are multiple tables that are open, the hostess says we have a waitlist would you like to put your name on it and I say I don't understand, you have all of these open tables. At times there were into seven people standing around that check-in kiosk. After waiting 16 minutes with servers walking past me and ignoring me, I went to the kiosk and told the manager they could have the table back as I have a flight to catch. He said he could get someone to me right away, but I said, no, as I can't risk the food taking too long. A table of four that came in and seated next to me hadnrhwir drinks within 5 minutes of sitting down. Very inattentive staff. The menu looked good and I was looking forward to enjoying a nice lunch. I've been a fan of John Elway since he became one of the elite NFL quarterbacks years ago and in those days I had no interest in what his other ventures might be, but as his career subsided I pretty much let those memories fade into the history books. It was once said "The only thing John Elway can throw farther than a football is money". Well after dining here it seems he's still throwing touchdowns in the restaurant industry, this airport location is the perfect setting for Denver to show off one of its own. The restaurant is very calming, it's rare to find this level of dining in an airport - it's rare to find a restaurant of this caliber outside an airport. I had a few hours to kill so I felt like I had plenty of time to enjoy the atmosphere and food here. After finding a comfort booth near the rear of the dining room I was greeted by Juan my server whom I discovered over the course of my visit has extraordinary customer service skills and is very professional. He definitely made my experience a very positive one - his recommendations are ones to be taken seriously. I started out with an ice cold Fat Tire which is brewed near by in Fort Collins of course, I've been enjoying this unique amber ale since it was first introduced in 1991, I highly recommend you enjoy one if given the opportunity. After looking over the menu I finally left it in Juan's hands after asking him a number of questions - soup and salad, actually chili and not just any chili the spicy steak chili which is second to none and an ice cold wedge salad, the salad was beautiful and so refreshing but the chili holy crap is absolutely incredibly amazingly delicious and soooooo hot and spicy it's unbelievable it's on the menu this is definitely not for the faint of heart unless you plan to dump all the cheese and sour cream in it which may tame it somewhat. I thought this place was everything I had hoped it would be - if you have time and they do ask you the time till you fly to ensure they can accommodate your schedule when possible. Never thought I would give a five star review to an airport restaurant, but here we go. Going to say that food was 4 stars, but Ryan (our server) took this review to 5 stars. Elway's is located in the food area of Concourse B at the Denver Airport. For an airport restaurant, it has an upscale feel to it. We checked in with the hostess to discover a 20 min wait for a table...didn't understand that until we got our food. It was well worth the wait. Ryan definitely brought his A game to our table. We had some time to kill before our flight, so we decided to order some drinks and chat. I decided to order a bottle of Segura Viudas Cava Brut Rose. Ryan went to get the bottle, but informed me that it looked like they were out of it. I told him I would take a glass, if available. He promptly brought me a glass, but about 5-7 minutes later, a bottle materialized at the tableside. I have no idea where he got it from, but I didn't care. I was happy with the level of service that provided me with what I wanted. For lunch I got the Fish Sandwich (crispy onions, tomatoes, arugula, mojo aioli, toasted ciabatta roll). There was a white cheddar cheese being offered on another sandwich or burger (can't remember which one) but I asked Ryan if I could get the white cheddar on my fish sandwich. Gotta say, that was the right move. The cheese really enhanced the grilled fish sandwich...I mentioned it to Ryan that they really should consider making that an option. The sandwich came with a choice of house made potato chips, cottage cheese, pasta salad, or fresh fruit. For an extra $2.50 you can substitute french fries, which I got. They were hot and tasty, with a lovely sprinkling of salt. There are not too many times I have been to a restaurant and not had to use salt, so I was impressed. My friend got the Asian Chicken salad (shredded chicken bok choy, napa cabbage, edamame, snap peas, carrots, cashews, sriracha, miso-ginger vinaigrette). He said that it was very good, was fresh and the veggies had a lovely fresh crunch to them. He said the chicken was nicely seasoned and the dressing was well balanced. The Doctor got a smash burger and said it was cooked to perfection. It did look very good, but because I had so much meat in Denver, I had to try the fish. I had no idea that airport food could be this good and the service was just amazing. Too bad it is in an airport, but I am guessing that the restaurant outside the airport must be as good. It's a full-service, full bar restaurant that offers a trimmed down version of its full menu that you would find in its Denver locations. We were looking for fresh vegetables and protein and this was perfect. Had the roasted corn chowder (amazing), steak salad- rare- (very refreshing) sauteed asparagus, and a mushroom burger, with a bottle of 10th anniversary edition of Conundrum. The opening kickoff dropped the glass of water out of reach in the far opposite corner of the table pinning the visiting team inside their 5. Having 6 burgers on the breakfast menus was a brilliant game plan. It was a smash mouth way to start the day with a bacon cheddar smash burger. My companion ordered the eggs Benedict and he said her he is going to order it from now on. I ordered the short rib Benedict, hold the guacamole. It just sounded like too many flavors to me. The tomato relish on top was bright and tangy, a perfect taste alongside the hollandaise. I was disappointed in the short rib though. It was dry and had a burnt taste. Ate hear before a flight a few days ago. Started out just fine. We had a little over an hour so we figured we were good. We were told a 10 minute wait but it was a little shorter than that. Our server even asked how much time we had, if we were in a hurry or had some time, very nice. We started with some onion rings, delicious! Then I ordered the Short Rib "off the bone" and my wife ordered a salad. The short rib was super tender and very moist. So good. And the mashed potatoes were excellent. So we ate and all was good. Place seemed fairly busy, it was lunch so figured it would be. But we sat and waited and waited for our check. Even though we had time when we got there we were running out of time. So my wife was able to stop a manager guy (I think) as he was heading by us. That long wait cost them a star because there really was no excuse for us to just sit there and wait for so long.
