Just home from our recent dinner - 27 April, 2015, 5:41pm. Seated as soon as we walked in, by a lovely woman, who turned out to be the manager. Our waitress was Rayn H., per the ticket, and she is AWESOME. Hubby ordered Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs, for me, the 'Crabacado' omelette. Drinks were served before we ordered, exactly as we wanted them. I heard hubby order his, but I'm pretty sure he mumbled - he was served a REAL Steak and Eggs plate, and he cannot eat steak, due to tooth problems. My omelette was beautiful! Poor Rayn was mortified, and got him a new order of Chicken Fried Steak within minutes, and even the manager came over to apologize. Elmer's has always been a favorite of mine. My favorite is the French Dip, and an AMAZING cup of cocoa. We are always greeted and seated right away- no wait time even on busy days. We even have a favorite waitress who knows just how i like my sandwich. 5 stars. read more

Stopped by here for breakfast on the way to Washington. I have fond memories of Elmer's. I use to eat here frequently when I lived in Washington, and I remember this place being superb in quality. Boy was I wrong...I guess good things don't last. I ended up ordering the crab benedict and it was way too salty for my taste. The coffee that I ordered with my breakfast was also a little too watery and the portions definitely shrunk as well. I miss the old Elmer's. Oh well, t'was a great memory. read more

Elmer's has good food at a decent price. The only thing lacking is they don't have a large selection for lunch and dinner.

We met here to celebrate Dad's birthday and the food was wonderful, the service, not so much. Since Dad is 94, we didn't want him to drive home in the dark, so had an early dinner. For a Tuesday at 3pm, they were not very busy, as would be expected for any restaurant. There was no reason that we should have had to wait for 5 minutes to be seated. The food was excellent. I had the Dungeness crab BLT salad and it was great. I ordered the "lighter" portion and it was still a generous portion. My husband ordered the Cobb salad and had the same comments. Dad ordered the salmon, hold the chives. They got all the orders right and the food arrived promptly. Our waiter only checked on our table once, and said he would be "right back" with more iced tea. He never came back and it was difficult to get anyone else's attention. I know we were chatting and enjoying a leisurely meal, but we didn't expect to be ignored. From the other reviews that I have read, the food is always good, but you take your chances with the service, I'm sorry to say. They really need to work on their customer service! read more

We have been to Elmer's Restaurants a few time and each time we got great service. Today was the worse. The waitress came to our table with menu and asked if we want coffee. We said yes. She came back with water and spilled about a half cup. She want and get napkins and stoped at another table and talked with them. We clean up the water, then she came back and asked if we want coffee. We said yes again. About ten minutes later we called the host for him to bring our coffee. Our food came and she returned to refill our coffee. When we were about finished we found old food stuck in the bottom of one coffee cup. She took the coffee off the bill but never really said sorry. She came back with the bill and asked me why I was writing letter on the satisfaction form. So we are mailing the form in cause it probably would be tossed in the trash. read more

We have family that eat here every year on there way up to an annual camping trip, so we where excited to give the famous Dutch baby German pancakes a try. Unfortunately they look nothing like the pictures and where served cold, and where flat and not crispy brown. Very disappointed. The eggs that came with it tasted like they where powered also disappointing. The sausage and coffee where decent, but that's about it. read more

We both had their fish dinners; my hubby had their fish and chips and I had their Alaskan cod dinner. Yummy, yummy, yummy. The service was spot-on. The prices were right on. Our server, Joshua, was professional and polite. What more could we ask for? Guess we'll just have to return for another meal. :-) read more

I went into the bar side of Elmer's today for breakfast around 10:15. Needless to say it is the last time I will ever go in there. The bartender was so rude to me. My friend I came in with and another couple I know that was sitting at the bar both commented to me how rude she was to me. We stopped in grants pass overnight looking for a okay place to eat. Luckily directly beside the best Western motel we found Elmer's. The help was friendly both at dinner and in the morning for breakfast. The Ham and Tillamook cheese omelette is absolutely Great. They also pour a good stiff drink in the bar! read more

I ate at Elmer's four times already and I had a great experience in all of them!!! First time I had some especial crepes with a fruit butter which I don't remember the name and I picked eggs, ham, and hash browns to go with it. The crepe was insanely delicious and I had crepes in many places already and were not that good... Simple and delicious!!! Second time I had a vegetarian skillet plate served over a potato pancake which was also very good. Their avocado benedict was also really yummi!! When it comes to hollandaise sauce I am very picky. I don't like anything that tastes artificial and most places in which I had eggs benedict, the sauce tasted like it was bought on a supermarket... but here at Elmer's it was very good and fresh!! Last dish I had was a crab, avocado, swiss cheese omelete... The original also comes with bacon, but I opted it out... It was very delightful and mouth watering!!! In some occasions I also had fruit with my meals and they tasted super fresh and good what makes me think they were organic!! Coffee is really good and strong...Cannot forget about their biscuits, in my opinion, they are to die for!!!! On top of that, one of the servers there, Tristan, is the sweetest ever!!! Apparently, at the Grants Pass Elmer's, people can park any way they wish in the parking lot. We had somebody park (or attempt to) right next to us. They parked in the bushes and almost put their car down the hill. They barely missed damaging our car. It was dark, so we aren't entirely sure about whether or not there was any damage to our car. Management said the police were called, but they never arrived. We were dragged from our table, in front of everyone, like we had done something wrong! It was embarrassing, and the other party should have been dragged out to move their car, too! The husband came out, honestly baffled about all of the attention. "It's my wife's car. What's wrong?" If you can't park a car properly, you shouldn't be driving!!! We would have left after that, but drinks had been ordered. We got to sit and watch the couple enjoying their dinner, like nothing happened. The food was terrible this time, too. Elmer's is usually hit-and-miss, anyway. Unfortunately, we have few good options in Grants Pass for sit-down dinner. I don't even know why I'm writing this, because I don't think anyone cares! Very very impressed from the moment we walked in! Clean floor and Restraunt front. The waitress was friendly and chatted with us. She herself seemed very happy in general. Dan and I browsed thru the menu and was liking what we saw. The menu showed pictures of certain dishes and the were mouth watering. I ordered the Crab Eggs Benedict. My husband ordered the chx fried steak. I loved my dish loved how I could taste each level of flavors. My dish also was perfectly plated, you could tell the chef has pride in his work and lovedaking this dish. My husbands chx fried steak was seasoned to perfection and very tender. Just passing through and stopped by for dinner tonight with the family. We felt like breakfast foods so I ordered the searching fo sun (can't remember the name exactly) omelet which had chipotle bacon and it was amazing. I had it al a carte. I was a little disappointed that they only take off $1 for al a carte. My husband had the veggie omelet and my daughter had a bowl of chowder. Both enjoyed their dinner as well. It was a great place to stop by for a quick bite and it was right off the freeway. One thing I would recommend changing is the smell. It smelled strange when you walked in the door. I was very surprised as soon as my wife and I walked in the door. The people were friendly and our waitress was very nice. I have stage IV prostate cancer and with the COVID 19 pandemic going on, I felt really safe here. Everyone was cleaning something and wearing face masks for protection. We came in late and the waitress suggested what not to order because of the time. What we did order was EXCELLENT! The Seafood Bisque was outstanding! What a great restaurant. Very nice interior and a large breakfast menu. Nothing outlandish but all the favorites are there. Pancakes, waffles, french toast, omelette's, eggs Benedict (one version has crab meat), corned beef hash, biscuits and gravy, and a bunch of other dishes. The house grilled potatoes are really good. The staff provided excellent service. My granddaughters ordered one meal off the adult menu to split, and without asking the waitress brought it out on separate plates. We had breakfast there two mornings in a row and I would have gone back a third time, but we traveled back home that day. read more

For the second and last time, biscuits and gravy was cold within 10 minutes, even after asked for them hot. Biscuits for mostly flat, cold and too hard to be cut with a fork! "Crispy" bacon was not crispy as requested but soft and chewy. This being the second time tried, the cooks must use canned or frozen foods. Mostly empty place at 9 AM on a Thursday morn? Nice atmosphere...it feels like you're eating at someone's house. Very clean. Food was pretty good. Not a bad place overall.

I stopped for breakfast at 6:30. Few customers but it took over half an hour to get eggs and hash browns. They were luke warm and dried out like they had been cooked 20 minutes earlier. Tasteless watery coffee to go with it. Priced higher than Denny's but lower quality. Go a little farther down the road to the Train Depot restaurant, much better. read more

The menu has something for everybody,its very excellent quality diner food. You can't go wrong! The staff was so friendly and attentive. The prices were around the same as Denny's but the food was a million times better then Denny's. The atmosphere has that down-home feeling with a fireplace and a fine selection of take-home baked goods. I could eat here everyday and not become sick of it. read more
