    2 tacos governor QUICK LUNCH
    Nina R.

The shrimp gobernador is the star here, so I popped in with some friends to check it out last weekend. We arrived at lunchtime expecting a wait, but there was a table immediately available for us. Lucky us! The shrimp gobernador did not disappoint, and it had a delightful kick - hooray! We also tried the chile relleno plate (my husband doesn't like shrimp), and that was a surprise hit! It comes with handmade corn tortillas, and they were divine. The interior is dark, but it works.

The food was tasty, and flavorful. The service was great, they were very attentive. The ambiance is really colorful, and party feeling. I enjoyed the experience here. We came here for Brunch, and we were completely impressed with everything. See you soon, we'll be back.

The 4 stars is only for the miches. Love the variety of miches they have . So good!!! Loved the mango! Not cheap Mexican food. My plate was $21.99 but I didn't love it! It was the carne asada plate with handmade tortillas plus a few sides. Servers were friendly but most only spoke Spanish. I'm bilingual so no prob just letting those that only speak English know. Not busy but was told they're usually busier around 7pm. Place is brightly colored! Located in downtown Oxnard ... great place to get drinks with friends. I'd be back for the miches!! So glad my friend, Melissa L. recommended and introduced me to this place. As an Oxnard native, I can't believe I hadn't visited! Def some of the best miches I've had. I'd pass on the food :) just because there are so many yummy Mexican spots around here, for food it would not be my first choice. I see myself here with friends having miches soon though!!!

The food looks good but Does NOT TASTE good and the service was great but food was a NO. Micheladas were ok they were a little watered down and shrimp doesn't taste fresh.

Went to try this place after not being there since the pandemic well I was a bit disappointed the wet burrito according to my husband was delicious I myself got the mojarra frita plate it's served with fries a salad and rice&beans it was delicious specially because they give you this great red salsa along with fresh yellow corn tortillas the issue was with the tostada mixta it was truly disgusting it had a harsh refrigerator freezer burn taste plus the vegetables and fish tasted old and were mushy the staff was great and friendly they are a bit pricey I would return but not often honestly

Great service! It's my 2nd time having dinner here and food was great on both occasions. Shrimp tacos, governado tacos, shrimp coctel all delicious- salad was fresh, rice and beans taste authentic AND TORTILLAS ARE HANDMADE ! They care about serving good fresh food ! Muchas gracias :)

On our way to Santa Barbara, we decided to exit and look for a restaurant to eat lunch - so off the beaten path for us we checked out this place. They have the most extensive list of michelada I've ever seen - it was a crazy selection. We got the Chililada which is the tamest from their list and the Shrimp in Chili Lime sauce which was good but too much acidity. The shrimp were perfectly cooked though. Their rice and beans though are to die for - probably the best beans I've ever had! Soooo good!!! I'm not sure if I'll come back to this if I'm ever in the area again but if i do I'm just getting the rice and beans.

Once arrived we were greeted right away by the owner and staff and was seated right away. Luckily the restaurant wasn't that busy yet. Right of the bat service from Samantha P was fantastic and very friendly. As for the food we ordered 3 different appetizer and 2 main seafood dishes to share. Appetizers: Aquachiles- They were freshly made that morning and the was fantastic. Clam Strips- They were fresh and nicely battered. Portions were on the small side. Delaware Bay Oysters- Fantastic and so fresh. Very clean tasting. For the main dishes we ordered: 5oz Blackened Red Snapper- The snapper was grilled perfect. It was flaky and moist. 4pc Alaskan Cod Fish & Chips- I ordered it half Beer Battered and half Panko Fried. The panko came out dry but had a better crispness to it. The beer battered is the way to go. The fish was moist and flaky and the batter was nice and light as well. Plus the chips ( Fries) where amazing. I believe they were double fried. It was crispy on the outer layer and creamy inside. All in all we did enjoyed our Mother's Day lunch at Fisherman's Catch. Until our next visit.

For over 25 years, this spot has remained a "go to" in the community, and we love seeing these old school treasures continue to thrive. From the moment you walk in, you get those nostalgic, old-school vibes. Loved all of the decor and pictures of fisherman throughout the place. The service here was awesome. Super friendly and welcoming, and the gentleman at the register gave great recommendations. He knew the menu well and was able to help me out with some suggestions. Honestly, the menu is so extensive it was hard to choose, but here's what I went with: Fish & Chips (2 piece plate): 5/5. The batter was light yet perfectly crispy, not overly heavy, and the fish itself was fresh, flaky, and high quality. Paired with a solid tartar sauce, this is a must order dish. The French fries were classic and I loved their coleslaw. Grilled Thresher Shark Plate: 4.5/5. This one was a standout for me given how hard it is to find shark on menus nowadays. I actually grew up eating shark, so this felt super nostalgic. The staff highly recommended it, and I'm so glad I listened. The grilled shark was mild, tender, and full of flavor thanks to their delicious balsamic glaze marinade. If you've ever been curious about trying shark, this is the place to do it. I'll be back again for this soon. Overall, the food was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying and the best part? It doesn't break the bank. Prices were reasonable and portions were generous. Definitely check them out if you haven't already, a great old school restaurant in Oxnard.

The place itself was clean, had a cool vibe and a nice bar area. It wasn't overly busy, so we were seated right away. I ordered the Big Breakfast for $21. Unfortunately, it was pretty underwhelming. Most of the food came out lukewarm and didn't have much flavor. The ham was questionable and probably the biggest miss on the plate. The pancakes, however, were actually good. Service was decent. Our drinks were refilled frequently and the staff took care of us, although nobody was overly friendly. The restaurant was also surprisingly quiet for a Sunday around lunch, especially for a marina location that seems like it should be packed. Overall, I was disappointed with the value. For the price of the meal, I expected either better quality or larger portions -- preferably both. As a chef, that's probably what disappointed me most because there is so much opportunity with this location. We did see a few lunch specials coming out of the kitchen that looked much better than our breakfast, so maybe we simply ordered the wrong thing. I probably won't return based on this visit, but I also wouldn't say it was terrible. Three stars feels fair -- decent place and great potential, but our breakfast just didn't deliver for the price.
