The batter was light yet perfectly crispy, not overly heavy, and the fish itself was fresh, flaky, and high quality. Paired with a solid tartar sauce, this is a must order dish. The French fries were classic and I loved their coleslaw. Grilled Thresher Shark Plate: 4.5/5. This one was a standout for me given how hard it is to find shark on menus nowadays. I actually grew up eating shark, so this felt super nostalgic. The staff highly recommended it, and I'm so glad I listened. The grilled shark was mild, tender, and full of flavor thanks to their delicious balsamic glaze marinade. If you've ever been curious about trying shark, this is the place to do it. I ordered the two piece fish and chips which goes for $13.49. It was a plentiful portion, cooked nicely and served with a small side of cole slaw. I would have given this place four stars except for the fact that approximately half of one of my pieces of fish was exceptionally hard. From an appearance standpoint, it looked fine and it did not seem burned at all. However, the batter for some reason had hardened to the point that it was almost like a rock. I walked right in the server was friendly and I ended up ordering the mahi-mahi five dollar piece of fish and a side of chips and some barbecue and the ceviche the ceviche was actually pretty good. This seafood place is great for what it is-- Kinda kitschy seafood dive. It's located in a strip mall with Smart and Final, casual seating that can host larger groups. This looks like the kind of place you'd see in major tourist boardwalk areas in Atlantic City or Florida coast. The ocean decor on the walls and ceiling is kitschy, and it feels like you're lost in time in the 80s. But the fried fish is great for my taste. They fry everything to order, so it will come out hot, crispy, and steamy. They use beer batter, and I think it is cod. It does taste like they under-season their fish, maybe on purpose b/c people load up on tartar sauce and vinegar? So that may not be to your taste, but the batter is so crisp and appealing. I had to use the sauce for the coconut shrimp to add flavor to it. The shrimp/fish combo - well, there's nothing special about the coconut shrimp but the fish was the bomb! My Mom said the same thing. We came in the afternoon, between lunch and dinner. The place is casual - order at the counter and seat yourself. The employees were helpful and friendly. The fish and chips were yummy! The breading was light and cooked perfectly. Definitely coming back for the fish! The clam chowder was creamy and had a lot of vegetables (carrots, celery, and potatoes). I did taste a few pieces of clam in my cup. I'm still on the fence about getting it again. The crab cakes were okay. They are just deep fried breaded patties. You get two crab cakes in a side order. I wouldn't get it again. read more

This review is only for the fresh seafood deli, I have eaten here before but honestly it is nothing to write about, the fish and chips as ok but nothing special. I appreciate that this place is so close to my house and whenever I want to eat fish, I like to buy it the day of to make sure it does not sit in my fridge too long. All of the fish I have ever bought here has always been fresh.. I mean as fresh as it can be I guess. The one time I had an issue with a bad piece of shark, I called them and they understood, pulled the fish from their deli and issued me a refund right away. The customer service they exhibited was above and beyond what I expected after calling and they even gave me a complimentary pound of a new fish of my selection for my next visit. As we sat down to wait for our food, I couldn't help but notice they had a variety of sauces to enjoy as well as bottles of hand sanitizers at each table! Excellent touch considering most of this food is finger food. Also, there are two TVs in the restaurant for your viewing pleasure. We ordered the 3 piece fish and chips meal, popcorn shrimp, and shrimp and fish taco. The fish in the fish and chips meal was huge! Unfortunately, the fish was more battered than fish and lacked any distinct flavor. It had a nice crunch, but I found myself having to drown my tartar sauce on the fish just to make it slightly more palatable. The popcorn shrimp was the same. Not much flavor and it needed a lot of ketchup and tartar sauce. However, it also had a nice crunch. The tacos came with lettuce, tomato, and cheese. Not sure if there was any sauce already on the taco, but none that I could taste. It also lacked flavor, and I found myself having to use tartar sauce to make it more enjoyable to eat. We ended up ordering the house fish and chips, the red snapper fish and chips, mahi mahi grilled sandwich, and a couple of appetizers. The house fish and chips are made from basa fish and the texture is very mushy and soft, and the flavor was not for me - I would not order this again. The snapper fish and chips were delicious! The batter was perfectly fried and crispy without being hard. And the grilled mahi mahi sandwich was so balanced and perfectly cooked! This was easily my favorite. The two appetizers were ok. The other thing that stood out to me was their cocktail sauce, it actually had horseradish in it and was very good!! Service was friendly and quick. Ok I'm back at it again another favorite for me . The Red Snapper N Fries is scrumptious !! Combined with a side of their homemade tartar sauce ! I've had Fish and Chips at Andrias and Spencer McKenzies in Ventura, Otahnis in Oxnard and just about every other place that serves them and Hook, Line and Sinker excels in taste, service and especially price. The fish is great, cole slaw incredible but you cant beat the price. Eat here then if you eat anywhere else you're being ripped off because the other places charge more and they are not better.
