I went this weekend with my family our server Alondra was so welcoming and sweet, the food was also amazing! 10/10 experience

This is such a cute brunch spot--the view is absolutely amazing, the customer service is great, and the food is truly to die for! They're open all day, so you can come in for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, which makes it super convenient. As soon as you walk in, you'll notice a beautiful display of wine bottles, and you can clearly see the full bar ahead--definitely sets the tone that the drinks are going to be just as good as the food. Fabiola was our waitress, and she was incredibly sweet and attentive. She answered all of our questions (and we had a lot!), making the whole experience even better. We all started with coffee--because how could we not at breakfast? Unfortunately, their espresso machine wasn't working, so I went with a regular black coffee with creamer. It was actually pretty good! We didn't order any appetizers, but they have plenty of great options to choose from. For my meal, I ordered the ribeye sandwich, and wow--the meat was so tender and juicy, full of flavor, and the portion was perfect. I could honestly eat this every day. My sister had the chilaquiles, which were highly recommended by the staff, and they definitely lived up to the hype. The only thing is we wished they were a little more saucy, as they were slightly on the dry side. My sister-in-law ordered the big breakfast, which comes with two of everything--huge portions and definitely worth it. Now let's talk about the pancakes... they offer both regular pancakes and Mexican-style pancakes, which are thinner--but honestly, so much better. I cannot stress enough how amazing they were. Where do I begin. We visited on a Saturday at 5:30. Our reason for going was for me to try the Saturday special Chimichurri ribeye . Our waiter Isaac was pleasant enough, however, didn't know much about the menu when we asked for recommendations. I started with the chicken poblano soup and my honey had the clam chowder. My chicken poblano soup was quite tasty which is why I gave this two stars instead of one. The clam chowder was not bad, but the serving was so small. We had the same size bowl however his bowl had about a third less amount of soup than mine. They were preparing for a large gathering so they began to rearrange the tables to accommodate the large party coming in. I believe it was a group of over 30 people coming and was being set up right next to us. For the next 15 minutes they proceeded to drag 30+ chairs across the floor to prepare for this group arriving. It was so loud and annoying. I could not believe they did not pick up the chairs to arrange them, knowing that we were sitting right next to them and it was extremely loud. My date and I could barely hear each other talk. I told him maybe they don't realize how loud it is, but while the workers were trying to communicate with each other about the set up, they also could not hear each other over the noise of the dragging tables and chairs. My date ordered the pork chops and I ordered the Chimichurri ribeye. I ordered garlic mashed potatoes with the gravy on the side and the garlic mushrooms for my sides. The plate was extremely messy and the mashed potatoes had the gravy on top. My date ordered the pork chop meal with a baked potato and garlic mushrooms as well. I really wish we had taken a photo of his plate, but we left our phones in the car. The pork chops looked like beef jerky, so thin dried out. He immediately said I don't think we'll be coming back here for pork chops, but let's give them a try maybe they're better tasting than they are looking. Negative. I have never seen thinner pork chops in my life. So unappealing looking overcooked dried out. They were horrible . They did not offer butter, sour cream, or chives for the potato. I'm not sure if my ribeye was a ribeye. It was extremely tough , under seasoned and looked nothing like the advertised picture. The chimichurri sauce was all but missing. While paying the bill I was waiting for him to ask us how everything was so that I could give him an honest answer. He never once asked, so I brought it up by asking if there was new ownership because we had seen the yellow notice in the window. He explained that one of the partners had left awhile back but they are just now getting around to Transferring the paperwork. He still didn't ask how our meal was so I just told him "you know, everything was pretty bad" He stated that he wished we had said something, but we never had the chance because we weren't revisited during our meal. I have been here once for happy hour, once for breakfast, and now twice for dinner. Nothing has ever been spectacular, but it wasn't horrible either. But this time sealed the deal that we most likely won't return. read more

I wanted to give this place a visit when I drove by it just recently. I spotted it for the first time after driving by on my way to the beach. The place is located on a shore with the ocean as the view outside. Weather is always breezy here. The service when entering was excellent. Humberto was our server and he kindly seated us. He asked us if we enjoyed the food etc. was pleasant and easy to talk to. We liked that. It's clean inside and roomy, many people were there on a Friday afternoon. They had a lot of good choices on the menu but all were approaching $20. Pricey for sure. The food ordered was an omelette with potatoes o Brien. The other was a breakfast burrito with fruit. Both about $20 each more or less by a dollar off. The drink ordered was a coffee and water. The coffee was $4 and bitter. It was from a plastic container not fresh. I made a mistake I blame myself for ordering this without checking. It didn't exist in the menu as a hidden item. Overall $50 after tax and tip. It was overpriced but the experience of the ambiance, view of ocean and service compensate for this negative aspect. read more

Enjoyed a great lunch today! My wife sears this is the best tuna melt in Ventura County! I went with the Tradewinds salad. Fresh lettuce and ahi tuna, made for the perfect meal. Added balsamic dressing for a zesty taste. Just make sure to arrive by 2pm. The team does a change over to start the evening at 4pm. Staff is warm and welcoming. See you all there soon!! read more

We visited this little off the beaten path restaurant on a Saturday morning. Seated next to the window for a picturesque view of the harbor and a wide variety of boats. We opted for the Eggs Benedict and a mimosa, both quite good. Afterwords we took a nice long walk to enjoy the views. Wait staff friendly and efficient. Such an awesome location overlooking the tradewinds marina and we were able to chill and watch the Dodger game... Great little spot! I read several reviews that recommended ordering from the Traditional Mexican Food section of the menu, so that's exactly what I did. Great advice because the Green Chicken Enchiladas I had were outstanding. Covered in a delicious green sauce (surprise!), those enchiladas are filled, actually over-filled, with a moist and deeply flavorful chicken. I say over-filled because they were so meaty I only finished one. I suppose I could've eaten the other one, but then I'd be over-filled. Lol. As you might expect, the Green Chicken Enchiladas come with rice and beans, both of which were above average. I wish tortilla chips were served with the dish, but other than the two chips used as a garnish for the beans and rice, they weren't. There are so many tempting items on the menu I can't wait to return. I'd really like to find out what those Rib-eye Tacos are all about. As I was leaving one of the owners asked me how everything was. I told her how much I loved those Green Enchiladas. She nodded and told me she loved them too. She said she had had them for her dinner earlier that night. I nodded in appreciation and thanked her for the hospitality. I like that they serve espresso drinks here. I tried a latte. It was excellent. The availability of excellent espresso here makes me think my next visit to Tradewinds Cafe & Bar will be for breakfast. I had a Toastmasters holiday lunch here recently and enjoyed the experience, food, and service. The brunch burger is large and tasty, but not as good as their ribeye sandwich. Their onion rings are on point. They're service friendly with our party of 11, but they were not able to do separate checks for all of us. The private room requires reservation and provides privacy when the door is slid closed. Highly recommend if coming with a large group. read more

Excellent anniversary dinner highlighted by Nate's exceptional service! My wife and I visited Tradewinds for the first time on Wednesday evening to celebrate our first anniversary as a married couple. Nate greeted us at the door, and sat us quickly at our table. We made it just in time for happy hour and started off with their Chips and Guacamole, which was a solid portion and good start to our dinner. We opted for a bottle of La Marca Sparkling to enjoy with dinner, which was refreshing and presented nicely. We shared the chicken piccata and shrimp scampi for dinner, with both dishes featuring a linguine lightly mixed in with capers and a white wine sauce. A lighter flavor forsure, but I enjoyed it. The chicken and shrimp portions were both generous. Each entree came with choice of a soup or salad, we chose the clam chowder and their house salad with ranch. Both were good to start our meal. The finishing touch for our dinner was a surprise dessert brought to us by Nate, churros with ice cream. The churros were warm and soft, with a nice drizzle of caramel and tres Leches on top. The ice cream was very sweet, but it was an excellent compliment to the churros! Thank you Nate and Tradewinds Cafe & Bar for an excellent anniversary dinner! Service is absolutely the best . We watched the bartender work her magic. She is a star ! We sat at the bar and celebrated my amigas' birthdays. It was pretty busy on a Monday. Every table was taken. Yay, so happy for them. Great to see they're doing great! My friends liked their fish taco and chimichanga plates. I didn't like the burger. The fries were limp, not crispy. I am more a fan of their breakfast. I've tried the nachos and tacos for Happy Hour and not a fan. I saw others ordering the nachos on HH, so I know people love them. Beautiful restaurant. I don't think they're price gouging as I saw others comment. I really think they try their hardest to have a little of everything for everyone. The location is prime. The entire staff is super friendly and attentive, but Humberto really stood out. He's one of those people who just brings positive energy and treats everyone like a friend. For food, there were so many tempting options, but we decided on the Crab Benedict and Chilaquiles Rojos with asada. The Benedict was packed with crab, and the poached eggs were cooked just right. I would've loved a little more seasoning on the crab, but it was still delicious. The Chilaquiles had more of a modern twist, and although different from the traditional version, they were still really good. I can't wait to go back and try more from the breakfast, lunch, AND dinner menus! Amazing rebound! We gave this place a second chance and had a really good experience. We had breakfast, waffle, delicious; eggs, a proper over medium; bacon, perfect; and hash browns, crispy, light, and not greasy at all. My husband had huevos rancheros chile verdes; he was extremely happy with it. We were stunned at how fast the food came, faster than fast food. I don't know how they did it. Fresh and hot. The service was excellent, almost overly attentive. The room is bright and airy, very high ceilings and a water view on one side . The chairs are so comfortable, like high end dining comfortable. It can get loud if there are a lot of people there. (See my previous review) Happy we gave this a second chance. It is close to home with tons of free parking. Enjoyed a brunch here. Went back a week later for dinner with my wife. Sadly disappointed. Place was slow. Took 15 min for waitress to serve 2 draft beers. Rib eye sandwich was chewy. Wife's patty melt bland. Ordered the fries extra crispy. They were cold. Even worse waitress handed up the electronic bill and already added 18% in. Knocking this place from a 4 to 2 stars. So I feel bad leaving a bad review but it is what it is. I've been seeing this place all over my social media and wanted to try it out. It was cute and great view. Was seated right away and ordered quickly. The menu has cinnamon rolls on it and I love cinnamon rolls so I ordered one. Only to be told they don't have cinnamon rolls, uhh ok it's on the menu but ok. Opted for a regular breakfast with eggs, bacon, potatoes and pancakes. Husband got steak and eggs. His steak looked great... it just looked great. It was super stringy and hard to cut. Either the knife was dull or the meat was tough. The table was moving as he attempted to saw it in half. His hash browns were super crispy and he doesn't like that. I thought they were good. My scrambled eggs were fine, it's just eggs. Bacon was great. My potatoes had literally NO seasoning. And we're still hard. I was adding tons of pepper and salt to try and make them taste decent but they were just too hard still. Then the pancakes, I think all pancakes are good. I'll eat them from anywhere... however... these were rubbery. I at a quarter of one and said nope. My husband usually finishes all that I don't eat but he said it was no good. Our waitress Fabiola was very nice and attentive. She asked if we wanted a box and we never leave food to waste but I knew I wasn't going to touch any of it. So we left it. Also worth mentioning, an older gentlemen walked in and brought his dog. I'm all about dog friendly places but this was not a service dog. He didn't have a vest on or anything. That's gross to me!! I don't want dog hair around me while I'm eating. It was a well behaved dog and just say under the table but still. My dog is chill but isn't a service dog so I don't take it places. * also not sure if it was an error on waitresses part but we always try and tip with cash. My husband used his debit card to pay and put zero Tip, since we were leaving cash. I kept all the receipts and it showed pending on his bank for the correct amount. But when it went through days later is was about $11 more. I thought maybe my husband accidentally pressed the wrong thing on the pad. Even though he swore he didn't. But with what our bill was there was no way cause the options are usually about 8%, 10% or 15% for example. And none of those options came out to what we were billed. I was hesitant to contact bank since it was only $11 but I did. What if If they are overcharging every customer!! I sent the bank all the receipts showing what we paid and within a few days got a letter saying there was a mistake made and I was credited. I don't know if they realized and credited themselves. Hopefully it was a one time thing. read more

Not very good overall. The service was extremely slow. Someone in my party asked the waitress what was in the mixed vegetables, and she didn't really seem to know which veggies were in there. The tuna melt was okay at best. Edible, but not something I'd crave. Even the free mints were somehow unimpressive. Last night I challenged the restaurant with a party of 10 in their lovely private room and I'm happy to say they excelled again. We were treated like royalty. It was served less than 10 minutes after ordering. The beer battered fish tacos were crispy. The onion rings are my new favorite! It was thinly battered, and very crispy.
