    Chicken D-Lite wrap
    Adanari Z.

Arriving on a Friday night during baseball playoffs and a busy restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised with how quickly and kindly we were assisted. Happy with their customer service first and foremost. I really enjoyed the onion petals. Think blooming onion meets onion rings. So yummy and such a satisfying crunch at every bite! The chicken d-lite wrap was also really good. Plenty of fresh flavors. Their sweet potato is actual pieces of sweet potato. I automatically thought sweet potato fries when I saw it on the menu but that was on me not to clarify. The waitress was also very helpful with ordering something kid friendly from their menu. My son really enjoyed his grilled cheese sandwich and fries. Overall, really great experience. Love how big the restaurant is and how each part of the yard has its own vibe. Will be back to try their cocktails and other food items.

My family and I decided to try this place downtown, which I've been wanting to visit for a while. We didn't have reservations, but we managed to get a table right away despite the crowded restaurant. I ordered the Yard Birger, their classic cheeseburger, which came with American cheese, gem lettuce, vine tomato, and fries. It was absolutely delicious! I also had a cocktail called the Berry Buzzed, made with Cazadores Tequila, Triple Sec, fresh lime, agave, and blackberry puree. It was equally tasty. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, making it a great place for families to enjoy a meal together. Our server was fantastic, even though they seemed quite busy. They were always attentive and ready to assist us whenever we needed something.

Every time I end up here it's a good experience, great food and service, chill ambiance and the elote is a phenomenon, Overall chill we can come drink here alone or with my kid for dinner and both are a vibe, I def suggest this place good food and large TVs for sports

My husband and I had a low key local wedding and had our family join us at the Yard for dinner. The manager was super helpful in helping us book the table for a large party. The staff was very friendly with us. The service was amazingly efficient despite it being busy and us having a large party. Drinks and food were good. And they gave my husband and I free wedding shots! Thank you Yard Bar for helping us celebrate our special day!

After a day in Ojai hiking and sightseeing we stopped by here to have dinner, drinks and watch the Laker game. Very welcoming and friendly staff. The ambiance is great here, very nicely done. There is a bar in the middle, lots of big tv's on the walls. The food is also amazing. We ordered a few starters to munch on with our drinks. I absolutely love the nachos here. Probably the best one I ever had. I'm not kidding. So light and delicious topped with flavorful shredded chicken. Soooo good. A must try. The tortilla chips were bake so believe so it made it so light. The artichoke dip was also amazing so were the buffalo wings. We enjoyed the cocktails and the beer as well. Great place to try if you are in the area. I highly recommend. Usually bar food doesn't taste fresh and delicious but this place sure does.

Cheeseburger with gluten free bun and fries

Best bar food I have had in a long time!!! Being gluten-free it's hard to eat in a bar. I was extremely happy to find out that the Yard Bar & Grill provided gluten-free bun options. I haven't had a burger this tasty in a long time. The bun was not your typical dry gluten-free bun, it tasted just like a regular bun. However, the best part of this entire meal was the french fries. The way they are cut and shaped and fried are perfect for dipping in their very tasty ranch and aïoli sauces. The staff at this restaurant are extremely helpful and nice and I can't wait to go back. Update: I went back the following week because I couldn't stop thinking about their pub fries, and was able to get a gluten-free grilled cheese and it did not disappoint!

Stopped in to check out the speak easy and watch the prelims. Had a few drinks. Extremely super friendly staff. The location is super clean with inside and outside seating. I'll be back just because how kind the staff was. Check them out!

Very cool place to hang out and enjoy a burger and a cocktail. Fries or even a beer and a pretzel. Our server was Justin was great. He was on his best behavior because the hostess's at the door threatened his life if he didn't get the food us hot. Just kidding, can't wait to go back

So happy to have the Yard Bar & Grill now open in Ventura. I've always liked this space and thought the circular bar was cool so I was super happy that when the last spot didn't make it to see that a new bar and restaurant concept was coming in. The name, menu, and atmosphere fits downtown Ventura and is perfect for the little yard area next to iron & resin etc. A friend and I stumbled in for a late weeknight dinner and we were happy to see that the inside was almost pretty full. They have a nice round bar, plenty of tables and booths, plus some outdoor patio seating from what I could see sitting in the inside. The decor was cool, very Americana and patriotic. The restaurant and bathrooms were super clean, always a plus. Our server Gabby was a doll. Super sweet, helpful and attentive. She made our dining experience A+. She was checking in with us a good amount and when we had questions about cocktails and appetizers she was very friendly and helpful. It was nice to see that the restaurant was well staffed, everyone helped one another and the food came out pretty quick - but was hot and fresh. For cocktails we started with the Berry Buzzed and I would 100% get this again. Loved the blackberry flavor and the large lime garnish on top made for a pretty instagramable moment. They have a pretty extensive cocktail menu here. For food we decided to split a bunch of appetizers which was the way to go. Their appetizer menu here is pretty vast and I liked the more unique options. In downtown Ventura there are plenty of spots to get apps but at least here they do the classics well but also had some more unique ones. One of the more special ones were the fried artichoke hearts with a lemon aioli and these were fabulous. Crunchy and addicting. We loved them. We also got a side of French fries with all of the dipping sauces, because why not. And lastly we wrapped up with wings. The wings hit here and are some of the best in downtown Ventura. My friend and I are picky with wings and we really enjoyed these. We got half lemon parm and half elote (pretty cool flavor option) and they were both great. Love that they don't skip on the side sauces here either. Prices were reasonable given how big all of their appetizers portions were. A good value and an awesome spot to come with a crowd to watch a sports game or to just mingle and indulge in shareable bites. We didn't try any of their mains from the menu but everything looked/sounded pretty good. The yard bar and grill is worth a visit when you're in downtown Ventura next. The food and drinks were great, coupled with stellar friendly service I can see this spot doing really well. Wishing them lots of luck and I'll be back for sure.

    Espresso Martini

Really cool space, with the restaurant side being visible from main street, and the speakeasy being visible from the back parking lot. It was funny because we struggled to find the restaurant when approaching the speakeasy, which has a beautiful outdoor seating area. I believe it's called The Hive. Theres one bathroom for both the speakeasy and the restaurant with only two stalls, so they were quite busy and one stall was out of toilet paper. We were seated immediately as a party of two on a Friday night around 8:30pm. Our server was friendly and attentive. Drinks and food came out pretty quickly. We ordered Ben's gravy fries which was delicious. The egg could've been cooked a little less. We both got the Morning Burger with tater tots which was a decent size and yummy. The food came with all of the sauces we asked for and we had everything we needed. For drinks we got an espresso martini with and without Bailey's ($1 upcharge), and Midtown Martinis. A bit of a pricey meal. Loved the food and drinks and I'm excited to come back to visit the speakeasy, its a great option, especially if you had to wait for a table.

Great food, live band, great drinks, service is awesome! Thank you Matthew and Manny the managers. First time here celebrating friends birthday. Has an outdoor patio with live music.

Stoked to see the Yard Bard and Grill come in and do it right! Located in the old failed disappoint Stout Burger location on Main Street, YB&G knocked out the execution with ease! Brought to you by the owner group of Cronies there's some creature comforts you'll remember and love like thirsty sauce, and schooners of beer but taken to a new elevated level! Think date night vs beers with the bros even though you can do both here. They've maximized the space with the main restaurant up front, a speak easy type bar in the back that was utilized as a storage room in the past and an outside seating area in the "yard"! Sophia our waitress was fantastic attentive and full of good energy! In fact everyone we interacted with was amazing and welcoming. The menu was elevated bar food and the cocktail menu was outstanding although I don't do alcohol, which I would like at least one NA beer option, but they did have a couple mock-tails that sounds fantastic but with my current diet wouldn't fit with the sugars. For eats I got the Goomer burger with no bun and added an extra patty and cheese curds on the side. The patty's were great size, the basil aioli was flavor packed and paired well with the beefy flavor and crispy pancetta! Execution was spot on and you'd never know they had only been open for 9 days! Looking forward to visiting again!

Cool spot on Main Street with both indoor and outdoor seating options! Great menu with burgers, tacos, salads, and apps! Get the side wonder fried and turn a salad into a wrap! Cocktail menu fun and get your beer in a schooner! Friendly waiters and bartenders!

The tacos were flavorful, the dip was creamy and perfect for sharing, and the drink hit the spot. Service is pretty straightforward you place your order at the counter, and someone brings everything to your table. There's not a lot of interaction with the staff, but everything was smooth and efficient. One of my favorite parts was the atmosphere. The happy hour crowd was a nice mix of people, and the place had a fun, lively energy without feeling overwhelming. Since it was a warm day, my friend and I chose to sit inside. We had a spacious table with plenty of room for our food and drinks, which made it easy to relax and enjoy catching up. As it cooled down, it wasn't as smooth to spread on your chip but still good. And their beef tallow fries are always a must and delish! Service was so friendly! The woman who took our order made recommendations on the menu, was very sweet, and attentive. Servers walking around were also so nice and good about cleaning up unused plates. The scallions were missing, the bun was a standard hot dog bun, and for $12 it didn't feel as elevated or as presentable as expected. Good drinks and good food. Plenty of seating outside. It was a good fit for our group. Was quite a surprise when last night we arrived to find a private event happening. I realize that the Tavern hosts private events, I saw that on the website. Neither Katie nor I discussed the possibility of a conflict when I spoke with her, so part of this is on me, but as the event coordinator, most of it was on her. Doesn't she have a main calendar for events? Because if she does, we weren't on it. The security fetched Katie, and she matter-of-factly stated that they were hosting a private event, so the venue was not available. She never apologized, seemed to not care that we had 30-40 people showing up at a place that was now unavailable to us. She stated, again matter-of-factly with no apology, that it was wedding season and events were her priority. So, the Tavern? Probably a great place for events, and a fun bar with good food, but their event coordinator definitely needs better communication and better organization. We will no longer be meeting there, needless to say.

We promised to return with some friends shortly who were driving through Ventura. We stepped out to grab coffee while waiting for our friends to arrive. We were excited to show them this place. When our friends got there around 4pm, they received an incredibly cold greeting at the entrance. They sent us a text and we told them we were a block away having just picked up a coffee and heading their way. When we all arrived together, a bouncer was at the front stand, boorish and inhospitable... his immediate attitude was downright insulting. (He wasn't around when we were there earlier.) He had previously refused to seat our friends at a table for four--even though we were just a block away--demanded we throw away our coffees, and asked us for ID. (My husband and I are in our late 50s/early 60s, and friends late 40s.) We literally had just been there for a couple hours and spent a good amount of money. Sure, I understand places have policies, but this attitude was COMPLETELY different than when we were there earlier. The bouncer was a self-important jerk about the whole thing. We went from giving them a second chance after they rekindled the aloha spirit to being completely turned off by the bouncer's egomaniacal attitude. Again, 4pm Sunday, no line or anything. Not some nightclub. Utterly unnecessary brute at the front. Rude and completely uninviting customer service. We ended up going down the street to a local brewpub that welcomed us, no attitude, no carding, and they didn't bat an eye at our coffee cups. AND when we parted ways with our friends, they told us they swung by Ventiki to talk to the manager. The manager told them she supports her bouncer and was unapologetic. If there was a society for tiki lounges with a membership card, this place should have their card revoked. They are not worthy. Tearing up the fez passport I started and will never set foot in there again.
