    White tiger margarita
    Bethany R.

Came on a Friday night and lovedddd the vibe. It was a perfect place for a date night and to meet up with friends for the holidays to catch up. Music not too loud and The fire pits and outside seating were dreamy and the drinks were so delicious and beautiful. Service was very friendly, they checked on us a few times and let us know when the kitchen was closing. We had the white tiger margarita, ventucky mule, and Jamaica margarita but with mezcal. All 3 were so flavorful and delicious and just the right amount of alcohol. I also ordered their fish tacos which were honestly perfect. Crispy, flavorful, fresh, no fishy taste. We will be back!

I have been wanting to come here for awhile. I didn't realize that it is Cajé Coffee Roasters is in the same shop by day until 3:00pm and then Ten Tigers after 4:00pm. We originally came for drinks but as that alcohol hit, we knew we also needed some food! I ordered the Jamaica Margarita. One of my girlfriends got the Dirty Bird and my other one got the White Tiger Margarita. All were tasty with no complaints. For food I got the Baja tacos, one friend got the ceviche and the other got salmon. I am giving them a 4 because even though service was great, ambiance is great the ceviche is kind of a rip-off. It's mostly cucumber and green apple with maybe every 10 pieces being the ahi tuna. It was a great flavor but they need to balance it out with more ahi tuna. I also give them a 4/5 because the music is kind of obnoxious. It feels like it's the same 2-3 songs on repeat. I get it that they are going for an Asian/jungle kind of theme but seriously have your playlist be like 10 songs. It's kind of like being stuck in a Disneyland line and hearing the same music or voice repeating instructions over and over. The patios are quite large with 2 front fire pits. Highly recommend for a nice evening on the patio with good drinks and laughs.

Food: 4.25. Came by a little after 5 pm on a Saturday. Place was offering a happy hour (Tue - Sat 4-6 pm). There is outside and inside seating. I found a spot outside with some fire. I waited and waited not realizing that you have to order inside. I then went inside and ordered their HH GingerCat Margarita ($10) and their HH Garlic Shrimp ($12). Food and drink came out timely and at the right temperature. HH Garlic Shrimp came with 6 shrimp. Broth was flavorful. I liked this dish. Was it worth $12 for HH? Margarita was good. Staff was friendly but I wish there was signage that you need to order inside (no wait service).

Sat outside on the front porch, which is really lovely. Did the food and drinks on the happy hour menu. Everything was top-notch tasty!

What a fun place. You order at the counter then you get a number for your table. I got the tacos. Simple but absolutely delicious. The fish and chips were tasty as well. Our friends enjoyed their sliders. Service was friendly and our order came out in a timely manner. I love the open seating and fun decor.

This is a cute mid-sized restaurant off of Main Street in Ventura. You can sit indoors or outdoors, and both areas look cozy. What I adore about this place is that you seat yourself and go up to the cashier to order your food. They give you a number to place on your table and then bring the food to your table. No longer do you have to wait for the server to come by your table when you're not ready and then not be there when you're ready to order; you're able to peruse the menu at your own pace and go up to order when you're ready. Happy Hour is from 4 to 6, so I ordered the BBQ sliders (without BBQ), which elicited a laugh from the cashier. My food and drinks arrived in under 10 minutes, so I was pleasantly surprised. I usually prefer wine, but I tried a cocktail. The cornstarch martini is a vodka and gin-based drink with a delicious foam on top. It's one of the best cocktails I've tasted in a while. Sipping on that delightful, sweet cocktail, I felt transported to a sunny beach. I don't know what they did to the meat or buns or how they perfected everything to combine into a mouthwatering combo, but the sliders were SO yummy. Not to be outdone, the fries tasted scrumptious. I know my way around fries and these fries were just like Pringles. You definitely can't stop at just one. The mixture of salt and other spices has definitely made these some of the tastiest fries I can remember eating recently. The menu also has a ton of other foods and drinks I can't wait to try. I can see this place becoming an addictive habit! Thank you to the friendly staff for bringing everything out quickly, correctly, and for tasting yummy!

Best margie and late night atmosphere. Ten tigers has been on my list to try. I'm so happy we did. The service was excellent. It's the perfect place to have a cocktail and food. They have HH everyday except Tuesday. Tuesdays they have a limited menu that features smash burgers. The bartender was unsure if they have a vegan or vegetarian option. I'll definitely be back soon to try the food. The mocktails are excellent as well.

    * ** *** **** ***** Outstanding spot for so many reasons ... - nice location - nice outside atmosphere with heaters / torches - Terrific, pleasant, Upbeat staff... service with a smile - TomCat Bourbon cocktail is just one of their exceptional drinks ... - quality food, prepared consistently well ... good menu variety - HAPPY HOUR is: Wednesday - Sunday 4-6pm* One of the best spots in town!!! Chicken Frances
    Niki R.

I remember when this location was a bunch of different businesses - including my hairstylist. Love the vibe. Casual California- order at the counter and they bring it to you. Chicken Frances -- basically chicken piccata - such a basic dish and holy cow done amazingly well. The chicken was perfectly cooked, the lemon caper and herb sauce was more like a gravy (all the better to eat it with a spoon!) and the mashed potatoes and wilted spinach just added to the delicious flavor fiesta. Really excellently done! Ahi Tuna Ceviche Verde -- this place knows how to create complex sauce flavors. The green mango, green apple, cucumber and ahi all were playful in each mouthful. I would have really loved some avocado in all the green-ness. Fried plantain chips - meh- they didn't add anything to the dish. If you like mezcal, give Dr. J's Medicine a try. Well balanced and smokey smooth. Hubby ordered Swizzle Me Timbers -- with a gin base and it too was absolutely delicious. Weirdly our food came before our drinks - even though the drinks are pre-made in batch. Docked a star because I found a sliver of barcode label that didn't get peeled off the apple before making it into my meal. Can't wait to return to try the rest of the menu!

Popped in on late Thursday afternoon to try their new happy hour menu that just started! The new menu offers an array of solid drinks and food items! We focus on sampling their drink menu that range from standard to cocktails to speciality cocktails! Their French 75 was solid with booze! Perfectly made. We also had an old fashion that was light in the bitters and made perfectly as well! Unfortunately we did not get an opportunity to try their food selection. We appreciated sitting at their very small bar to watch drinks being made. Beyond the small bar there is ample seating indoors and outdoors. There is a small front porch area and a larger porch on the side! Cheers!

    Double burger and tiger fries
    Monica N.

Here for the $10 smash burger Tuesdays!! I've tried the double burger and bbq smash and omggggg, both so good. Must order with the tiger fries, they are crispy on the outside and so potatoey on the inside PLUS they melt in your mouth (bc cooked in beef tallow!!). For $15 (before tax and tip), I was STUFFED. The patty, bun, and toppings were high quality (crisp, bright veggies and pillowy soft buns). It's a gorgeous restaurant with so much seating (indoor and patio), plus it's dog friendly. You order at the counter and they bring the food out to you!

    Rosa G.

Very nice ambience, the way to order was unexpected. I have to order my food at the cashier instead of taking a seat and them coming to me. I did not like that set up. I do like that. They have the fireplaces where you can relax and have a drink and it's outside seating so I enjoyed that. We had the burger and the short ribs. That was very tasty. The man at the cashier did let me know that they have a breakfast menu. I will definitely come back and try it.

    Fish Tacos
    Madelyn R.

I absolutely love dining here! Not only are the food and drinks delicious, but the service is also phenomenal. The ginger margarita is refreshing with the perfect level of warm spice. I tried the fish tacos on my last visit and was blown away by the perfection of flavor and texture. The burger and fries are also a staple. Outdoor seating is super cute and I love being able to sit by the fire while enjoying a drink and great food. Will be back again soon!

Good drinks and good food. Plenty of seating outside. It was a good fit for our group. Was quite a surprise when last night we arrived to find a private event happening. I realize that the Tavern hosts private events, I saw that on the website. Neither Katie nor I discussed the possibility of a conflict when I spoke with her, so part of this is on me, but as the event coordinator, most of it was on her. Doesn't she have a main calendar for events? Because if she does, we weren't on it. The security fetched Katie, and she matter-of-factly stated that they were hosting a private event, so the venue was not available. She never apologized, seemed to not care that we had 30-40 people showing up at a place that was now unavailable to us. She stated, again matter-of-factly with no apology, that it was wedding season and events were her priority. So, the Tavern? Probably a great place for events, and a fun bar with good food, but their event coordinator definitely needs better communication and better organization. We will no longer be meeting there, needless to say.

We were ready to walk out, but our drinks finally arrived. I suggested we ask for the check sooner than later, considering how long it took to get our drinks. (Others who arrived after us did not seem to have to wait as long as we did.) Moments later, the vibe completely turned around when the bartender blew a conch shell to award a patron a Ventiki fez, accomplished after drinking all 60 cocktails on their in-house passport. That energy really helped recapture any aloha we felt upon arriving and we ended up staying for hours and chatting with staff. The place redeemed itself. We promised to return with some friends shortly who were driving through Ventura. We stepped out to grab coffee while waiting for our friends to arrive. We were excited to show them this place. When our friends got there around 4pm, they received an incredibly cold greeting at the entrance. They sent us a text and we told them we were a block away having just picked up a coffee and heading their way. When we all arrived together, a bouncer was at the front stand, boorish and inhospitable... his immediate attitude was downright insulting. (He wasn't around when we were there earlier.) He had previously refused to seat our friends at a table for four--even though we were just a block away--demanded we throw away our coffees, and asked us for ID. (My husband and I are in our late 50s/early 60s, and friends late 40s.) We literally had just been there for a couple hours and spent a good amount of money. Sure, I understand places have policies, but this attitude was COMPLETELY different than when we were there earlier. The bouncer was a self-important jerk about the whole thing. We went from giving them a second chance after they rekindled the aloha spirit to being completely turned off by the bouncer's egomaniacal attitude. Again, 4pm Sunday, no line or anything. Not some nightclub. Utterly unnecessary brute at the front. Rude and completely uninviting customer service. We ended up going down the street to a local brewpub that welcomed us, no attitude, no carding, and they didn't bat an eye at our coffee cups. AND when we parted ways with our friends, they told us they swung by Ventiki to talk to the manager. The manager told them she supports her bouncer and was unapologetic. If there was a society for tiki lounges with a membership card, this place should have their card revoked. They are not worthy. Tearing up the fez passport I started and will never set foot in there again.
