I really wanted to love this spot. At first it felt like a hidden gem. Great flavors, good portions, no complaints. But the more I ordered, the more the quality slipped. Most recently, my carne asada burrito was mostly fat with barely any meat, and the flan was overcooked. At this point, the best thing here is the chips, which should not be the highlight. read more

I've been few times to pick up a breakfast burrito, but everyone I spoke with seemed quite friendly and customer oriented. The burrito was delicious, and came with breakfast potatoes and cheese and served with side of homemade chips. I try to find breakfast burritos that include potatoes as most tacquerias will primarily add eggs to a standard burrito: beans rice eggs and meat. The interior does seem on the darker side- maybe an older style cantina. I would like to try their Happy Hour or dine in sometime in the future. It seems like the menu is a mix of homestyle Mexican and more 'American' options so it may be more family friendly. Perilla's is a great restaurant so it's nice to know that they are from the same restaurant family here. High Recommendation! read more

Loved the ambiance, playing mariachi music the way a mexican restaurant should be. The service was amazing until she had to go on break and passed it on to another young lady, after that it was 20 minutes of being ignored. Very large amount of good beans. $7 for 4. Sauce was so so and the servers warned us it was spicy. We used the very delicious salsa. My only complaint is the cleaning with fabuloso while we were eating...kind of spoils the flavor. All in all the cbs were yummy! I also had the flat tostada and it was great! Crispy tortilla but not tough, plenty of beans, lettuce and cheese. The tomatoes were so tasty and really set the dish apart from others. Chili relleno was so so. I will go back for the tostada and cbs. They start cleaning the fabuloso while we were eating so I couldn't give 5 stars. The odor tainted the flavor of the food. read more

First thing I loved about this place was how amazing their customer service was! Diego was our server and he was on top of things and always had a smile on his face. The food was so good! My husband and I ordered their molcajete which has plenty of food for two! It comes with beef, chicken, shrimp, nopal (cactus), cheese over a base of delicious salsa. We opted for hand made tortillas which is $1.50 more than regular corn tortillas to go with our meal. My daughter order their Mickey Mouse pancakes which came with bacon, sausage and eggs. My son ordered their grill cheese sandwich. They both liked their food, but wanted to eat from ours as well! The inside of the restaurant is a nice medium size restaurant with booths or tables. Upon entering, you're immediately welcomed by the scent of delicious food being cooked, fun music, as well as the host. Staff is very friendly! We were welcomed to our table with some tasty chips and salsa. My partner and I decided to share the trio fajitas - asada, chicken, and shrimp, with a side of rice of beans. It was soooooo good! I absolutely loved this place! They have plenty of parking outside and is a very large restaurant inside to accommodate busy crowds and large parties! They have beautiful decor inside with large benches. As soon as you sit down, they also bring you chips and salsa. Their portions are great as well because we started off with the carne asada nachos and once our main plate came I was already full which is not a bad thing. The nachos were very delicious and had a great amount of toppings from sour cream, jalapeños, melted cheese, and guacamole. I ordered the DVs enchiladas which are a mix of chorizo, potato, and chicken. They were so delicious that I could not stop eating them. The rice and beans were very tasty as well. Oh! I love DV's! Go for Taco Tuesdays! I love their Bean & Cheese burritos. Don't ask me why. Nostalgia? Dreams of childhood? Perhaps. But they are really really good. I've been here about seven or eight times each time I try some thing new all of the food here is really great and I highly recommend coming in. They have a big restaurant and their food is delicious and it's great for parties too. They have a large menu and it is really great to eat here. It's nice. It's quiet and it's clean, very roomy. A new friend told me about it and we decided to go today and try it and oh man it was tasty. We had the molcajete (shrimp, beef, chicken, chorizo, cheese, nopales, chiles) and it was Mexican heaven. We also had their tortillas hechas a mano and a 1/2 liter Mexican Coke and it was great. Our server Diego was outstanding. He was very friendly, accurate, and quick. This was our first time trying DV's and won't be our last! We were big fans. The menu style and aesthetic reminds me of La Parilla (maybe same owners). The prices are great! Super affordable. We came for our Sunday brunch around 11am. We were sat right away and had to ask for breakfast menus. The omelette I got was delicious, meat lovers and it had a lot of cheese. The homes fries were good, potatoes needed more seasoning, but I like the bell peppers with a little crisp as they were. The chilaquiles were good, The asada and eggs on the chilaquiles were cooked perfectly. We ordered pancakes and they were very delicious, and without a big tab of margarine was nice. Overall we will 100% be back for the good quality food and low prices. Definitely try DV's and support local. read more

We went fur the first time last night, the first thing we walked in and there was an overwhelming smell of fabuloso cleaner, it was so powerful, it was giving me a headache. When we went to order a drink, their mixed drinks are all wine based, which are horrible. We got our food, I did something very simple 2 beef tacos, the taco shells were store bought, which was a bummer, why do Mexican restaurants not make these home made anymore, but the beef meat wasn't all that great, I couldn't even eat both of them. My husband who usually lives everything unfortunately left very disappointed as well, he got a taco, chili relleno and enchilada and did not like it at all. I have driven past this location a zillion times and only just stopped. So happy to have finally entered the goodness that is DV's. Was in Ventura recently and plans had changed unexpectedly, so my guest and I decided to treat ourselves to an early brunch at DV's. They had just opened, which was fine as we were the only guests at this time. Our server was very nice and helpful and answered all our questions with ease. Basically, they were my questions about their Chilaquiles. :) We ordered an orange juice to share, and it was divine. Freshly squeezed that morning and served in a chilled glass. So fresh! I of course ordered the Chilaquiles, because yes. My guest ordered a Chile Relleno and Cheese Enchilada and she IN LOVE. Wow! I now have a new favorite authentic Mexican place. My fiancé has been here before and he loves it and I just tried it and I truly think it's authentic food. Went on a Tuesday and they had taco Tuesday which they have two dollar tacos so we got to try all of them but the absolute favorite was the shredded beef. It's like a must try. Manuel was our server and he was outstanding, very kind and helpful. I really enjoy small mom and pop shops knowing that I'm helping a local. This is a must try place in Ventura and I highly recommend it and I will definitely return. Their salsa and chips were so good as well. Food came quick and ambience was amazing. I was in town for the day and visited DV's. I got the enchiladas de mariscos and asked for no onions. It's a common request of mine. I don't care for diced onion in my food, and Mexican restaurants often have a tendency to turn it into an onion enchilada with a meat garnish, if you take my meaning. They did great! Not an onion in sight. They served the plate with black beans, which I prefer over the more traditional pinto beans anyway. I cleared the plate and left a happy man. read more
