I've been few times to pick up a breakfast burrito, but everyone I spoke with seemed quite friendly and customer oriented. The burrito was delicious, and came with breakfast potatoes and cheese and served with side of homemade chips. I try to find breakfast burritos that include potatoes as most tacquerias will primarily add eggs to a standard burrito: beans rice eggs and meat. The interior does seem on the darker side- maybe an older style cantina. I would like to try their Happy Hour or dine in sometime in the future. It seems like the menu is a mix of homestyle Mexican and more 'American' options so it may be more family friendly. Perilla's is a great restaurant so it's nice to know that they are from the same restaurant family here. High Recommendation!

Food is great!!! I ordered aguachiles, amazing, couldn't get enough of them. Carne asada plate, the meat was tasty and juicy. The DV's enchiladas, super good with super tasty meat! Loved the ambiance, playing mariachi music the way a mexican restaurant should be. The service was amazing until she had to go on break and passed it on to another young lady, after that it was 20 minutes of being ignored. But everything is made up for it and we left satisfied to return again.

Very large amount of good beans. $7 for 4. Sauce was so so and the servers warned us it was spicy. We used the very delicious salsa. My only complaint is the cleaning with fabuloso while we were eating...kind of spoils the flavor. All in all the cbs were yummy! I also had the flat tostada and it was great! Crispy tortilla but not tough, plenty of beans, lettuce and cheese. The tomatoes were so tasty and really set the dish apart from others. Chili relleno was so so. I will go back for the tostada and cbs. They start cleaning the fabuloso while we were eating so I couldn't give 5 stars. The odor tainted the flavor of the food.

I've driven past this restaurant many times and I had no idea how good it was! My husband's friend recommended this place to us. First thing I loved about this place was how amazing their customer service was! Diego was our server and he was on top of things and always had a smile on his face. The food was so good! My husband and I ordered their molcajete which has plenty of food for two! It comes with beef, chicken, shrimp, nopal (cactus), cheese over a base of delicious salsa. We opted for hand made tortillas which is $1.50 more than regular corn tortillas to go with our meal. My daughter order their Mickey Mouse pancakes which came with bacon, sausage and eggs. My son ordered their grill cheese sandwich. They both liked their food, but wanted to eat from ours as well! The inside of the restaurant is a nice medium size restaurant with booths or tables. The decor reminds me of decor you would find somewhere in Mexico, it was beautiful. We'll be back again soon!

I was visiting Ventura and stumbled upon this restaurant, and let me tell you, I'm glad I did! Upon entering, you're immediately welcomed by the scent of delicious food being cooked, fun music, as well as the host. Staff is very friendly! We were welcomed to our table with some tasty chips and salsa. My partner and I decided to share the trio fajitas - asada, chicken, and shrimp, with a side of rice of beans. It was soooooo good! One of the best fajitas I've ever had. The portions were great and the flavor was amazing. I definitely recommend it. I believe our waitresses name was Danielle! Thank you for the great experience!

We wanted to try a New Mexican place in town and found this one on Yelp. DVs is a solid choice. I ordered the shrimp burrito and my partner had the cheese enchiladas. My burrito was quite large and tasted good. The enchiladas were super cheesy. The guac was a bit bland.. needed more spice. The restaurant had an old school, typical Mexican place vibe. Service was solid and friendly.

A perfect dinner spot! This restaurant has a great menu with a variety of authentic Mexican food dishes at decent prices. The waiter took a while to place our order but, once our food was out, it was worth the wait, delicious!

I absolutely loved this place! They have plenty of parking outside and is a very large restaurant inside to accommodate busy crowds and large parties! They have beautiful decor inside with large benches. As soon as you sit down, they also bring you chips and salsa. Their portions are great as well because we started off with the carne asada nachos and once our main plate came I was already full which is not a bad thing. The nachos were very delicious and had a great amount of toppings from sour cream, jalapeños, melted cheese, and guacamole. I ordered the DVs enchiladas which are a mix of chorizo, potato, and chicken. They were so delicious that I could not stop eating them. The rice and beans were very tasty as well. Our service was excellent very attentive and friendly! This is a great place for families and they also have taco tuesday specials! Overall great and delicious place!!

Amazing cochinita (Pork) from their website, I didn't take a picture.

What a gem! Service was incredible, I had the pork- chochinita Pibil, so amazing. Pork marinated in Orange and cooked in a banana leaf. So juicy and delicious and portions are huge! We will be back forsure!

The decor is crowded and not cohesive. It feels cluttered. The tables are and walls and seats are sticky even when clean. It just all seemed a bit...dingy. They had that fun little peg game to play to keep you busy but half of them are missing pieces and they are also really dirty. We ordered hot chocolate (yum) and some basic breakfast items. My husband really liked his items. He said he would give his at least a 4 stars, but this is my yelp review lol. My food was very bland and not flavorful. I could have made the same thing at home. I don't mind spending money. In fact, I love going out to a good breakfast, but it has to be a good breakfast. If it's subpar it's really a waste of money and calories for me and that what I feel this experience was. I think I got "crunchy" French toast and it had mildly soggy corn Flakes on it. The idea was fun but the execution wasn't great. My husband simply ordered meat, eggs and potatoes. It was okay, nothing to write home about. Take what I say with a grain of salt and maybe try it for yourself. It could have been an off day for the kitchen or staff? Personally I don't think I will be back or recommend but I can tell you there were clearly regulars here that day and they do have quite a reputation so at some point they have done something right.

At 9:30AM there was already a line with about 5 parties ahead of us. We only waited for about 20 minutes and we were able to sit al fresco to enjoy the sun & people watching. I ordered a Cortado with Oat milk for my espresso kick and my husband enjoyed the Tuscan Sunrise juice from the seasonal menu (fresh pineapple, orange, carrot, ginger, lemon and tumeric) that was refreshing and restoring. I loved their signature Breakfast Lasagna, which was fully stacked and hearty - layers of bacon, bechamel, prosciutto cotto, spinach, eggs, and mozzarella, all smothered in marinara and topped with a fried egg. It's more than filling and great to share with someone who ordered brunch entree on the sweet side like pancakes or Belgium waffles. My husband had the Chicken Avocado Bacon Panini with Swiss & cheddar cheeses, butter lettuce, garlic aioli and caramelized onions. He asked to omit the roma tomatoes. I had a bite and it was yummy...great for a lunchy entree. We finished the meal with another season menu item, the Pistachio Ricotta Cake. I could have ordered two...not to share, just for me. It was really good and I hope they keep it to their standard menu. The service was at a slower pace, but the server did check on us periodically. Once your seat is ready, you order at the counter and you get a number. The staff that took our order was awesome. Friendly, warm, high energy, and efficient. Our order came out in about 10-15 min. Water is self serve. Drip coffee- perfect and high quality. It tasted like Kona coffee! Lavender matcha- great and well balanced Japanese milk bread- this fell a tad short for me. I would've liked both sides to be seasoned/flavored. Japanese Milk bread is typically moist and fluffy , however this was a little dry likely due to the toasting of the bread. The color overall was lighter than expected. It's served with a berry sauce which is really yummy. Side of smashed potatoes- really good. Perfectly seasoned and ketchup tasted homemade Aussie meat pie- soooooo delicious! The crust was awesome and the meat was tender. We also loved the side salad because it had a little zing of lemon. A rare moment where a side salad is actually fantastic! Miso chicken katsu Sando- really loved this! The chicken breast is huge. As other reviews stated, it's not a typical chicken katsu. If you like honey, you'll like this. The honey sauce hits you on the front end and ends with a little acidity from the aioli and slaw. The sandwich was super juicy and flavorful. While large, it didn't feel heavy. Each bite got better and better. Brontë bowl - OUR FAVORITE!!!! Ok first off, I hate mushrooms with a passion, but I kept them in the order because they are curried and I knew theyre an essential part of the dish. They were awesome. I didn't mind them one bit. This dish does not need salmon, and if anything I think adding it would've been too salty. I naturally eat fast but this bowl makes you slow down because of the layers/elements. The sweetness of onions, the creaminess of the feta and avocado, the crunch from the seeds, the delicious pesto, the buttered bread, the perfectly poached eggs - UGH! So perfect! Everything had a purpose. I am obsessed with this bowl. It is so much more filling than you'd think. I could eat this everyday and I hope they never change it. Ambiance was great. We sat at the bar which felt spacious. The inside is gorgeous and just puts you in a good mood. The best thing about this place is the staff. Literally every single person we interacted with was amazing! Everyone here is friendly, warm, and just looks happy to be there. I can't wait to return!!!!!

There is something about this place that immediately lifts your mood the moment you walk inside. The atmosphere feels warm lively and full of personality in a way that teenagers naturally connect with. It has that comfortable playful energy where you can sit down talk with someone enjoy your food and feel like you are part of a fun little world without any pressure at all. I did not expect it to feel that youthful and inviting but it absolutely did. One thing that stood out to me more than anything else was the garlic bread. Busy Bee Cafe is the only location I know that has garlic bread with a taste I genuinely love. I do not even know if they sell that exact garlic bread online and honestly that mystery makes it feel even more special. The flavor is warm buttery and rich in a way that hits you instantly. It is the kind of garlic bread that teenagers would enjoy a lot especially if they are hanging out with friends and looking for something comforting and delicious to share. It is rare to find something so simple that leaves such a strong impression. While I was there I noticed a lot of teenagers enjoying the space and it made perfect sense. The cafe has a classic retro charm that feels both nostalgic and fresh at the same time. It is the kind of place where teenagers can take pictures enjoy the decor and feel completely at ease.
