I was looking for a place to grab a drink because the Ventura Tree Lighting and Bellringer was my pick. I went in solo but bumped in to my good friend ! We chatted / caught up for a bit until we parted ways. Service was great & I was informed about their Happy Hour. I had eaten at home , so no food for me but I did grab a beer ! It was a dollar off for Happy Hour. It wasn't crazy busy but there was a great energy in the brewery. I think a lot of people were there for the Tree Lighting downtown. Stopped in for a beer and dinner. Beer and food is ordered at the counter here. A decent variety of beer and food items. The beer was decent, I'm not a super huge beer drinker so the fact that it was drinkable was a plus. For food, I ordered the steak sandwich. The sandwich was served with battered fries and ketchup. The fries were nice and if you're daring, ask for some of their spicy ketchup. It has a really spicy kick to it, I did enjoy it a lot. The steak sandwich was better than average. It was steak strips and bell peppers topped with chimmichuri on sourdough. It came out pretty nice. It wasn't fancy but it made for a tasty sandwich. Service was helpful and friendly. My husband and I stopped here for lunch during the week. We both ordered their cheeseburger from their lunch menu. It's a great deal! $20 for a cheeseburger, fries, and a beer! I paid a little extra for a cider instead. The smash burger was delicious. I loved the grilled onions and how cheesy it was. The fries were also delicious and had lots of flavor. The only thing that I was just okay with was the cider; it didn't taste like much. The service was good. Cool place to stop for cold one and quick bite. Open since 2023, right on Main St., it's a friendly place to get a locally brewed craft beer and some good bar eats. We stopped by mid-afternoon, there were plenty of tables, large bar seating plus small patio with a few high top tables. Overall 4.0 rated for casual bar ambience, friendly service and tasty brews. Expect to pay $10-15pp for food items. We came in for a cold beer on sunny afternoon, enjoyed patio seating and shared their Fried Avocado appetizer - delicious snack to share! For a quick visit, we enjoyed our experience and friendly bar service. If you like craft beer, this is a good brewery to try. Ok this is mostly aimed at the food. The smash burger was amazing. I mean the cook knocked this one out of the park. This absolutely set the bar higher on smash burgers for me. The crisp was there all the way through and the cheese mid way through was oozing. Don't know when the last time I was called out by my friends for savoring food as much as I have with this smash. Open air patio area is chill and welcoming. Simple: seat yourself, order at the bar. Self serve water by the tee shirts. The blonde gal working was extremely friendly and accomodating and got me extra ranch. She let me sample the Snuggle Bug sour which was so juicy and delicious, I had to get a full pour! Its a bubbly, bright raspberry boysenberry sour from smog city, you absolutely must try. Heaps of garlic and parsley on the garlic fries, which was a huge portion! I didn't even finish them. My friends and I were really impressed with their food menu! Two pages front to back - at a small local brewery? Pretty unheard of but we were stoked. They had plenty of appetizers for sharing which we loved. But their mains were a pretty long list as well - burgers, hotdogs, salads, sandwiches, tacos and weekly specials. Pretty cool to see Pozole and Pork Belly Tacos on their specials menu. My friend and I both had a Balcom Canyon hibiscus cider which was super refreshing and hit the spot. The three of us shared a combination of appetizers and main dishes: *Fried Avocado Fries - literally a pound of fried avocado bites for only $12.....in this economy?! An absolute steal of a deal! *Extra Crispy Buffalo Wings *BellRinger Dog & the Ballpark Dog The food was an absolute home run (they have Dodger memorabilia inside so I can make this pun.) Everything was clearly made fresh to order and the portions were super big for very reasonable prices. They also don't skimp on the dipping sauces and toppings, they also have that good-good homemade ranch. I'm definitely a fan of this spot. It looks unassuming from the outside and could use a little music or energy BUT the food for a brewery is better then I would have ever expected. Found this place passing through Ventura because of InKind, and would rate this place very highly in customer service, beers and the food. Josh was really patient with us trying all the beers, introduced himself and asked us our names and made us feel at home. I had food off the seasonal menu and the pozole was very flavorful and I would recommend the tamale as well. My husband had the BBQ burger and would highly recommend that as well. This is a fun, spacious bar/restaurant with phenomenal service and beers. I came in here needing to use the restroom immediately, and rather than interrogating me if I was a customer or some rando off the street (in which I guess I ended up being both), one of the waiters simply yelled the passcode to the restroom to me. My husband and I had the burger sliders and the single smash burger with fries plus a flight of all beers on the menu. Have you ever seen someone run around like crazy, helping other people? I saw this with all the servers. I can't be certain they had time to inhale oxygen. They were doing everything from bussing to cashiering to taking orders to making small talk. The okay: the burgers were a short rib/brisket/Chuck mix. It was thinly sliced, but not extremely flavorful. The fries: they needed more salt. They were nice and thick, but quite bland. You needed to drown it in ketchup. The good: delicious beer, but most are IPAs. If you love IPAs, you'll love these beers. I'm not much of an IPA person, but I thought the Bellringer amber available was absolutely delicious. None of the beers - even the yuck worthy in my opinion - were that bad, so you'll find something you like. The ambiance: relaxed/cool: sit at a table or bar and watch tv with no pressure. Or play a video game nestled in the corner while chowing down on food and/or beer. Conclusion: a great place to grab a beer and the service will be great! THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. We noticed this place pop up a few months back and we have been wanting to try it for some time and so glad that we did. We came in at 6pm on a Thursday and they were somewhat busy. After standing in line for about 5 minutes, our order was taken where we ordered a west coast pale ale and the single smash burger. Once we got seated, I noticed the pin ball machine and the arcade games and thought that was so cool! Our food was out in about 20-30 minutes but the wait was worth it. THE SMASH BURGER WAS A 10/10. So simple yet so much GOOD flavor. The fries were also amazing. Really good quality food here. The beer was very good and can't wait to come back and try another one. After visiting the Albinger Archaeological Museum, we grabbed lunch at BellRinger, and had an all-around great time! We had kids with us and I think in the past I had walked by and thought it looked a bit too bar-like for kids... but I was very wrong! We had the fish and chips and it was enough to share for two. It was fresh and perfect temperature, compliments to the chef. We tried both sours and they were both equally satisfying. The one pictured is the Snugglebug, and it was refreshing. Ambience was very relaxed. Perfect level of noise to be able to carry a conversation, or sing along to classic rock hits. Very relaxed vibe and one of the more home vibey locations on Main Street. We ordered the nachos and everything from the chips, cheese and toppings were very good. The Southwest salad with chicken was legit. The dressing and all the toppings made for a perfect salad which I'd go back for next time I'm at BellRinger. The service was great. The bartender quickly took our drink and food orders as well as checking in on us throughout the evening. BellRinger was also a great spot to watch sports! With plenty of tv's, they look like a spot that is sure to have plenty of options for games. They also have picnic table seating so it perfect for large groups! Bellringer smash burger... Get it and you'll be happy if you like a super filling, greasy, tasty burger! I've been here twice for beer, but I've only ordered food once. The beer selection is good with a decent variety, although I would love to see another sour option that didn't come in a tiny glass. However, as noted above, the Bellringer smash burger (and the included side of crispy fries) was absolutely delicious, and it would have been enough for my wife and me to split and be satisfied. We did order the chicken sliders on sweet rolls as an appetizer, which I must admit were a bit dry and wouldn't order again. The smash burger made up for it though. I was disappointed with the food and experience. I ordered the smash burger with pastrami. Both meats were way over cooked and flavorless. Complained and was told that's the way a smash burger should be. Another major annoyance were the young children running around inside the establishment. I'm trying to chat and enjoy Bellringer's great beer but it's impossible with yelling children chasing each other around. This was probably a one off case, temporary day care? Maybe the chef was trying to watch the kids instead of the grill? But telling me a dried out piece of meat is what a smash burger is supposed to be, nope. Note, I've been here 3 times, first 2 were good including a really good smash burger (crispy outer rim but still juicy, hey, a primary reason for returning).
