Nice brewery some interesting selection I had an Irish Stout actually it impressed me because it was relatively close in body & taste to a Guinness maybe because of the Nitro Tapping! Love the theme and the gifts they offer, wish they had more stocked up. Beer was good but I'm very picky so I didn't find one I could stick too. Chocolate porter was spot on but nothing distinct about the flavor. The seltzer as well was good but nothing to drive me back to that. Service was great. Temperature of this place can get pretty cold. Recommended but I'll have to try some of the others and come on a event day with food trucks. read more

I've been here a couple of times now and I got to see both their taprooms. They have a main taproom that is sometimes reserved for special events so you would just have to go two doors down to the smaller taproom. The decor in the smaller taproom is awesome. Can't believe I haven't written a review for Poseidon. It's a nice and fun place to go too. Especially if there's an event going on. I primarily go when there's events and I will say it gets pretty busy. Plenty of space even though at times it might not feel that way. Haha. During events they even block off their back area and set up tables which is nice. Plenty of space back there for my little one to walk and run. They don't have food. They do have food trucks from time to time. You would just need to see their schedule/instagram account if they have someone. They have food vendors when they do events which is why I primarily go then. I would say there's plenty of parking. They are in an industrial part. You might just have to walk a bit. Now about their beer. I drink IPAs. I believe I have had all of them. They are very delicious. Grapefruit is my favorite. Like how they have a variety of different kinds to choose from though. Their Oktoberfest one was really good. Loved the boot. Overall, I come about once a month sometimes more. My family and I have enjoyed coming. We will continue to go. read more

Poseidon Brewing is located in Ventura on Olivas Park Dr & Bunsen Ave. It's a Brewery owned by a couple, Bryan & Vinita. I've met Vinita, such a sweetheart, just lover her positive energy. Thank you Vinita for being super friendly, very knowledgeable & having the greatest bubbly attitude. Staff are welcoming, Friendly & knowledgeable. I had no idea what to order, but they help you out with recommendations based on your likes. If you're into mermaids, you will appreciate the aesthetics of the place. It's a great sized space to get together with a few friends or several. They don't offer food here but do have food vendors on certain days/nights, so just check their event calendar online or check out their IG or FB. There's also occasional live music, weekly Trivia Wednesdays, monthly Paint-n-Pint classes, holiday festivities & Poseidon beer and cask releases. I recently had a Beer Flight of 4: Pufferfish Pils Washed Ashore Bubblehead Blood Dive Dive Dive! My two favorites out of the four: Washed Ashore had hints of watermelon which made it taste light for a Blonde Ale with 6.2% ABV Bubblehead Blood Orange Pale Ale had a citrus taste to it that was refreshing for a Pale Ale with 5.6% ABV Nonalcoholic Beverages are also available here too. *disclaimer, I did not order beer * Came here for a work event and it was enjoyable. Looked to be two parts of the brewery but it's seemed a bit small and stuff given the amount of people we had. There were a few tables at entry, the the bar which has a slim walkway, and the back that had a few more tables that led to the alleyway. They provided us cornhole which was fun to play with the group. If you go as a group, recommend no more than 4-6. Con was that part of area was next to the dumpster and sometimes the winds cause it to draft in. They did have a pizza food truck that was outside and I wish I remembered the name because it was SO GOOD! Overall, I wouldn't go by myself but I'd go as a group. read more

My boyfriend and I came here around 5pm on a Thursday. We ordered a flight so we could try a few different beers. His favorite was the Ironclad, which was an Irish-style red ale. I really liked the Passiom Friuty Pants, which was a blonde ale. We ended up taking home a four-pack of the Ironclad and a can of the Bullet Holes and Duct Tape barleywine. They even have a non-alcoholic rotating sparkling water tap! Hidden away in a very industrial complex that makes it a bit hard to find. This is a cool hipster spot with a great Mexican food truck out front (the food truck totally covered the entryway). The underwater theme is awesome. The IPAs are underwhelming, at least the few that were on tap when I visited. I tried 10 different beers. And I am a big IPA fan. The Bubblehead Bloodorange IPA is outstanding and the Washed Ashore Watermelon Blonde is delicious! I'd definitely go back. Especially to try their other IPAs that look delicious. read more

Aside from having a nice variety of good beers, Poseidon have a very relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. With the bar seating, table seating, or the seating in the back the set is done in a way where you can engage in conversations with other & still be relaxed. The decor/theme here is pretty cool too. The beer are pretty solid, for a place where a majority of the beers are IPA style they have really good non IPA beers, the Battle Ship Blonde, & Bubble Head Blood Orange were tremendous. For the IPA styles the Decomposition DIPA & Grapefruit IPA were my favorites, well balanced taste without going too overboard on they hoppy flavor. They have a variety of size options you can get individual tasters for $2 or pair them in a four or six set flight, half pints, & full pints and they even have crowlers & growler options for to go beer. If you're looking for a brewery to check out in the Ventura area Poseidon is one that you should add to your list. read more

And I think we just had great timing because we would always grab a beer when there wasn't a line and after we sat down for a min a line would always form.
