I work at Kaiser and decided to try this place since it was doing a trial to open during lunch and it was such a disappointment. First, we walked in and no one greeted us or acknowledged us for about 10 minutes. Our food came out fairly quickly, that was the next disappointment. Food was incredibly bland and it was pretty much just a bowl of Kale with a few pieces of overcooked cauliflower. We stopped in on the way to Santa Barbara. It's tucked away in a nondescript business district where you wouldn't necessarily expect a brewery. Inside is super cute though and they have simple board games for the kids. You order right in the room with the beer bars right behind. We were able to try a few beers before we settled on one we liked. The girl who helped us was very nice and patient. Helped that the place was pretty empty around opening time. Food itself was just fine. The salad portion was smaller than expected. More like a side salad size for an entree salad. Pizza was good but pricey compared to Blaze. Wings were meh. What a fun space! I love that they have plenty of games and trivia as well as other fun events planned throughout the week. My son had a great time here, the pizzas were tasty. Trivia Nights- which are generally well attended and busy. They offer beer flights which offer fun tasting experience. Unlike most breweries, they have a full kitchen, I haven't tasted many food items, but pizza seems to be popular choice. There is a wide selection of other non beer beverages- I had a nonalcoholic House version of Shirley Temple drink which was tasty. Food items tend to be higher priced (sandwiches don't include side or fries, Burger $16, etc) I came back on a Fri. evening to pick up Fika, uniquely flavored with espresso stout. and it was rather empty. They don't naturally have much foot traffic in this industrial section so it seems like outside of event nights, they may not have larger crowds. The space is extremely bright with tall ceiling windows and lighter tone furniture (Ikea Swedish friendly vibes). There are large rooms available for events which are no fees to rent/ book. Parking is easy because it is not a pedestrian heavy area. Recommend Bright spark if you want to try any of their more crowded theme nights- Wed. Trivia, Thu. I had such a wonderful and fun time here for my baby shower last September. I was recommended this spot from a friend who said it's a great-sized venue to hold events for her roller derby team. The location is in the industrial side of Ventura where there's ample parking and there's hardly any crowding on the streets. I was in communication with the event coordinator and manager planning this baby shower in 3 months in advance. We signed digital contracts, put a deposit down and made sure there were enough chairs, tables, and space for our event. We opted for the banquet food to feed our party and drink tickets for alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks. For up to 60 guests, we had the dining room and the solarium, which were the perfect amount of space to accommodate everyone and have a photo booth. Service was great making sure all the foods & drinks came out and set up was perfect. Everyone enjoyed the pizzas and the choice of drinks from the drink tickets. We played a few baby shower games and held a diaper raffle. I highly recommend this brewery for another large event because it's also very family-friendly, which our guests were welcome to bring their littles ones :) Only thing out of control was the very hot weather that day and it was hard to stay cool inside. The concept for the food has great potential, but very poor execution. We had the sausage garlic pizza and the chicken sandwich, and both were underwhelming. The chicken is much thinner than advertised, and the pizza lacked depth. The pizza sauce didn't seem to have any flavor, and something about the crust was off, but I couldn't put my finger on it. When the pizza arrived, my husband's first words were, "It looks translucent," which is an odd way to describe pizza, but it was very spot-on. The chicken sandwich came with a pickle. I'm not sure how you can ruin a pickle, but they managed it. It tasted like it was soaked in water with a single drop of vinegar, no salt, no seasoning. It was a water pickle. We arrived here at about 7:30pm on Friday, May 9, 2025. It appears to be a pretty large facility. We arrived and sat at the bar. It was fun viewing all the tanks and operations behind the bar area. We did have drinks, of which I chose one of the Sangria's which was delicious; however, I thought was a bit overpriced for what you got. Sangria's are usually bountiful and delicious. This one was just delicious. I had the fried chicken sandwich, spicy and it was also very good. I again thought that maybe a small order of fries should have been included for the $15+ sandwich. We used Bright Spark for our Rehearsal Dinner, and we were absolutely blown away! No one expected the food to be much to talk about, considering it's a brewery, but my oh my, not a single item was less than superb! The mediterranean meatballs were my favorite, followed by the mushroom za'atar pizza! we worked with Linzy (the owner) from start to finish, and she was absolutely wonderful! we booked the solarium, since we had a headcount of 27. however, the afternoon of our rehearsal dinner, Linzy called and asked if we'd like to move to the (larger) dinning room (I believe she said they had a cancellation, so it was open). of course, we did, and she didn't charge us anything extra. we ultimately chose Bright Spark because they did not charge us for the space - just a very small deposit to reserve the space, which then got applied to the final bill. and we were absolutely blown away by the service and food! we would highly recommend Bright Spark for events or just a small hang! read more

I personally think Bright Spark is a notch above most breweries. First off, this place is huge! There is tons of seating. We actually went on one of their busy, trivia nights and decided we wanted to be away from the action. We sat in a back room and were able to relax and watch baseball on the TV. It was very nice. Next, they have lots of drink options. It's not just for craft beer drinkers. During our last visit, I was able to order a "Hibiscus Pineapple Rose Sangria". It was excellent. My boyfriend is a fan of their "Game Day", light beer. They have lots of beer, wine, seltzer, kombucha, and non-alcoholic options. Lastly, the food is incredible! We usually opt for the Potato Dukkah Pizza because it's insanely delicious, and you can't get pizza like that everywhere. But everything I have had there has been really good! They offer snacks, sandwiches, salads, burgers, pizza, and even an awesome kids menu. I feel the food is really the high point of this establishment. Anyways, I recommend Bright Spark. I came here for a Yelp event and I have been wanting to come back ever since. My hubby asked where I wanted to go have lunch today, so said we should go here! It was definitely a great choice. I had their Hot Honey Pepperoni Pizza, my hubby had their double Smash Burger and my kids shared a Pepperoni Pizza. Everything was delicious! My husband said that had to be one of the best burgers he has ever had. I had already had their Hot Honey Pepperoni Pizza and I loved it so much I had to have it again! This time I ordered it with Gluten Free crust and it was just as delicious! My husband also ordered a beer flight and really liked it. Stepped in on a quiet afternoon around 1pm. I chose the place because I thought i saw a picture of sweet potato fries in a previous review( I was mistaken). No worries, I ordered a double smash burger but the fires were extra? Okaaaay. $24 and a short time later (no drink mind you and bacon was extra as well) and my burger was served. I asked for mayo and mustard, a couple of staples I would think when ordering a hamburger, however, they did not have mustard. It was a good burger that could have been so much better with mustard. Went to Bright Spark about a week or so ago for a graduation party. There were about 20 of us in attendance. Fortunately, their brewery has enough room to accommodate this many people at one table and with enough space to move around. I hate when they try to squish you into smaller areas. They also have other rooms (private) that will accommodate larger parties very well. We ordered a variety of pizzas and Cesar salads to just have on the table to munch on until the orders came through. Pizzas were good - thin crust. I really liked the mushroom pizza. Also, the garlic one was good. I understand the pepperoni as good as well although I did not try this one. Cesar salads were also very good, fresh, although a little small. Next came the sandwiches. Most got the chicken sandwiches. Most said that the spicy one was not that spicy so not to worry. Chicken was tender and well seasoned though. Variety of sauces were also appreciated. Chicken wings were just a bit tough. Orders also came out very staggered and some took a lot longer than others. We did order separately but the difference in timing was noticeable. Pros: The place is very bright and airy. I appreciate the windows that let the sun shine through. The seating areas are ample and you do not have to maneuver to get around other tables. They have games for the littles and adults to play. Kept our littles occupied for a while. They had a water/utensil/condiment stand off to the side. This was nice so we can grab what we want/need. Service was efficient but not overly welcoming. Cons: Probably the delay in some of the sandwiches. Friendlier staff would have been nice - they were not unfriendly though. Garlic pizza had a weird herb/oil on it that left a lingering taste in my mouth that was a bit unpleasant. Wish I could figure out what that flavor was. good. Overall we had a good time. Bright Spark is both relatively new and a little hidden in the industrial areas but you'd never tell my visiting. The brewery is a decent sized operation and there were plenty of patrons despite the late hour. The collection of beers on tap was pretty wide ranging though unfortunately some of the more exotic pours were tapped out (like the nectarine, kiwi, green tea DIPA). I grabbed a flight and found that the beers on tap were all solid representations of there respective types. We came too late to grab food as the kitchen had closed up but if we're in the area again I wouldn't mind stopping in to try some food and drink again. read more

Came here for a brilliant community event! Enjoyed the ambience. First of all it is so family friendly and its wonderful! Love that it has a play area for little kids, kids menu etc. We came for a baby gear swap and was very impressed with the idea and the amount of families but also the fact it allowed us to explore this brewery. We were welcomed as we walked in and service in general was very friendly. We ordered a few things off the happy hour menu like the wings and the cheese/sausage balls and the carnitas pizza. Bright Spark is still a hidden gem brewery located in the more industrial park of Ventura near Market and Telephone Rd. You would kind of have to be looking for it to know it's there as it easily blends in with the other businesses. Despite the location, this really is a fabulous brewery and restaurant in the 805. I found this spot because of a yelp event that was hosted at the end of 2023. I fell in love with the place because of the good food, fun drinks, and stellar service. Fast forward to January 2024 and I came back the a friend for a late lunch and relaxed vibes. I was happy to see on the weekend this spot had a good amount of customers. This place is growing in popularity which I am glad to see. We wandered up to the bar area and studied the menus. I will say this place has impressive alcohol and food menus. A much larger selection than some of the sister breweries in the area. I appreciate that not only do they have beer but they also have wine, ciders, and fun little semi premade cocktails. Also best Arnold Palmer for those who don't drink but want something to wet your whistle. The food menu ranges from pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, salads and plenty of fun appetizer tapas to choose from. The pizzas and chicken sandwich are fantastic. Also liked the hummus and dips a lot. The only dish so far that I wouldn't order again was the smash-burger - but even that is more a preference issue. It was a good burger, I just prefer cheddar/American yellow cheese to their white cheese and the patties weren't thin or crispy enough like traditional smash burger are but see what you think. My friend loved her Cesar salad and they have the "good fries here" = skinny freshly salted fries, yum! Staff are always super nice and welcoming. I'm a big fan of their mission and vision for this place. The owners are lovely and they hire nice helpful people. Your business is valued here and it keeps me coming back. I was fortunate to attend a Yelp Elite Squad event here at Bright Spark Brewing several weeks ago. Dear Hubby and Sweet Granddaughter had originally dropped me off, then came back to wait for my brunch to finish. How lovely to find them at a communal table, with SG playing with a new kind of building toy. We decided to stay put and order food for the three of us. We also ordered mac & cheese for the youngest family member, plus fries. At four, she loves carbs on top of carbs. The southern wall of their large space has plentiful windows. On a late-autumn afternoon, having the sun come in from behind and warm my back felt fabulous. There are various seating areas. The main room where the bar / ordering station is located offers many tables. The adjacent area where we were is a transitional space, with long tables. There's a bookcase with books and games for kids, which is a brilliant idea. The room is narrow and wide, leading back to several other rooms which can be rented by groups of various sizes. A large baby shower was being prepped when we arrived. Later, we got to watch the guests enter with their brightly wrapped gifts and party clothes. Great for people-watching. The staff members are friendly and helpful. They know their offerings very well and can make suggestions based on your input for preferences or dietary restrictions. The facilities are kept clean and neat, including the ladies restroom.
