I won't be returning to Rincon anymore, which is too bad because I work across the street. A month ago I took my family of 6 there for dinner. As if the prices haven't risen enough the past couple years, they now add a separate credit card transaction fee. And then they want a tip! Can you at least bring me water and pretend to smile? But I was willing to let that experience go until I went there earlier today to meet some colleagues for a bite. After a half hour, the appetizer I ordered still wasn't ready. So I had to call a server away from staring at their cell phone to give me a refund, and now I'm looking for a bite elsewhere. read more

We have eaten here at Rincon Brewing at least 8 times in the last 2 years. The beer, ambiance and food has always been great. Today we ate here again with 11 friends. The beer was good and the service was super as usual, however several of us had food items that came from the-deep fat fryer and it all was terrible. If you have ever operated a restaurant or worked in the kitchen of an Elks lodge kitchen, you know when the oil in the fryer needs to be changed or when something has been burned recently in that oil. Well, today was that day. My Chicken Sandwich and the Onion Rings as well as our friend's French Fries, all tasted bad. It is a shame as the batter on the Chicken Sandwich was so perfect, except for the taste. As is usual, our server was great, the ambiance, always warm and accommodating. Thank you Rincon Brewing for offering us a replacement or refund which I took. I'm confident that next time, the fryer food will be just as good as it has been in the past. read more

The building is nice with lots of seating and TVs. We went up to the sign on the counter that said order here and waited a long time for someone to come up. We asked if we ordered there or at the table and he said here. We ordered a beer sampler. And sat down. We then noticed that the person that took our order was going around to tables taking orders along with someone else. We ordered food at the counter. The first 4 beers were not good. We love beer and there are few that I would say are not good. The next five were better. We got the asada fries, shrimp tacos, and onion rings to eat. The asada fries and onion rings were really good. The shrimp tacos had a weird taste and didn't have much flavor at all. No one came around and filled up my son's soda but they did at the tables around us. They did have a $5. Pint special going while the World Cup was on which was a good deal. Went to dine on Taco Tuesday at Rincon . Not sure what's going on but service was not good waited for some time to order when two guys behind the counter were just standing there. Kept waiting to be assisted finally got assisted. My tacos of pastor did not have much meat. I can't believe what I was given. Really Order some fries very dissatisfied with my order. It's been a while since our last visit, but was gifted a gift card and decided to utilize it after a long day of activities. The good, the good has always been consistent and good. Today I had a craving for soup and salad so I got a bowl of chowder which was creamy and surprisingly packed full of clams. Normally I'm not a fan of bacon in chowder because it over powers the flavor but it was surprisingly mild. The salad was a flavor bomb with all the ingredients to them point that I didn't add dressing. The down Achilles heal at the place has always been the service. It's so hit or miss, and I'm not sure if it's because sometimes you order everything at the bar and sometimes you get a server and there's no rhyme or reason. We sat for a while before someone asked if we've been helped and he had to go talk to the server team. After we waited for 15 mins for someone to finally check us out. My family and I visited Rincon Brewery last weekend. It's a family-friendly restaurant, and we noticed many families eating there. My husband liked the extensive beer selection. He opted for a flight of different beers and particularly enjoyed the La Reina Mexican lager and Merrick American lager. Since I don't drink beer frequently, I chose a Rose fruit cider and a glass of wine. The brewery's location is quite spacious! They have many tables both indoors and outdoors. I particularly liked the artwork displayed throughout the brewery. It's a beautiful place with a simple atmosphere. Another great aspect of their location is the open, bright, and spacious layout. The service was excellent! Our waiter was attentive and recommended a couple of beers to my husband, who was undecided about what to try. It's an ideal spot for lunch and a few drinks! read more

This was our first visit to the Ventura location and it did not disappoint! We've always gone to the Carpenteria location. Plenty of parking here, large restaurant and patio too! We sat outside and the heat lamps worked great! Service was friendly and the food was awesome! Loved the fried cauliflower appetizer so good! As were our burgers and beers! I took the train from Simi Valley to SB on a Saturday with my family. We walked around SB, went to the zoo & came here for a cold brew and food. It sure was delicious. It as a suggested spot from my uncle and aunt who are frequently visiting SB. I ordered a Dos Arboles and a double smash burger with lettuce, grilled onions and avocados + garlic parmesan fries 10/10!!! Service was great. Staff were friendly. Walking in you can see there are lots of places to sit, both inside and outside. It was very busy when we walked in so when greeted by the host they gave us the option of where to sit and we opted for the bigger tables near the games. They had a live performance playing guitar and singing inside so it was very loud and hard to hear. But after the performance was finished we were able to have a conversation at our table. Service was good. You have to walk up to the counter and order food and drinks. The Michelada was good, I enjoyed it and so was the food. Overall a decent experience. read more

After my mediocre burger experience last time I was a bit hesitant on what to order when dining at Rincon today for a gathering. I opted for the asada quesadilla and could not have made a better choice. It was filling and delicious and came with a good portion of steak inside. It was $17 but I paid a $3 upcharge to get sweet potato fries instead of the chips and salsa it comes with and it was worth it - love their sweet potato fries. Service was very attentive today overall and the server was patient with our large group. Definitely feel better about returning again in the future. We recently have been eating out a lot. Rincon Brewery is located conveniently near the dog park and is a great choice because it's dog-friendly and serves up flavorful food. Rincon stood out this afternoon because our server was so nice and helpful. Most importantly we split the tri-tip sandwich Santa Maria style and it was a flavor bomb. The tri-tip was perfectly seasoned and cooked so it was tender and served with grilled onions and fresh pico with cheddar cheese. Honestly, it didn't even need the cheese. For sides, my hubby loves their onion rings so that's a must and we ordered the garlic fries with the Sando. We also ordered the single beef patty as a treat for our fur baby. We've had the chicken sandwich and the various burgers in our past visits and it's all been consistently good. I think I like their food better at the Ventura location in comparison to Carpinteria. And the beer selection and seltzers are a bonus! read more

I tried to their locations. Ventura, and Carpinteria. Both were very good. Beer is fresh and amazing. The first time we were there we had salads and tri tip sandwich. Both were solid. The second time we were there we had Smashburger and tri tip tacos. The tacos were just mediocre. Lots of lettuce very little meat. It's nice that they have indoor and outdoor seating. If the weather is nice, and the heaters are on, you can sit outside and really enjoy yourself. Restaurant seems to be clean, and the staff is extremely friendly and attentive read more

A little disappointed the direction this place has gone. Their new menu seems to nickle and dime. Burgers should come with fries or a side salad, or chips. Instead you have to pay 2.50 for fries (in had 8 fries on the side of my burger, when I ordered the 2.50 cent upgrade.) Food quality seems to be down a bit than in the past as well. 2nd time I've gone with our family and left because of the lack of service. Stood at the end of the bar to order for at least 10-12 minutes and no one would come over to help. No one would even acknowledge we were there. 5-6 workers walked by me multiple times and said nothing. Service has never been great, but this was bad. There was so much flavor in the sandwich that it didn't need the side of ranch but also didn't hurt to put some it. The beer selection and chill ambiance are great. The food is always consistently MEH to POOR. The food could be incredible...reduce the menu and do 10 things extremely well. The salads have no flavor, the Mac n cheese is pasta with a spoonful of something dumped on top (gross). I am not sure if the chefs don't care or this is the level the restaurant set for the kitchen. I can't tell why the food is subpar all the time. Went in for the first time on a weekday dinner date. I like that the environment is so open and airy that even sitting inside we were able to enjoy the breeze. I don't drink beer but my date did, he was satisfied with the bar flight he chose. Food-wise, it is a typical bar food menu with plenty of appetizers and burgers/sandwiches. We ordered the cauliflower wings and beer cheese w/ pretzels for appetizers and I had a jalapeno sourdough burger. Everything tasted good, nothing spectacular but definitely not bad by any means. The service left much to be desired, every worker that we encountered had the personality of a stick. I don't need my waiter to be overly outgoing, but having an "I don't want to be here" attitude in what is supposed to be a fun brewery ruined it a bit. So glad we decided to get out the house today and visit Rincon Brewery. This was our first time here. Loves the outdoor patio. Tables were spaced out well...and the kids were able to play in the sand. Definitely kept them occupied. We tried the Cobb salad (I think this was the best Cobb salad I've had in the 805) the hot wings(standard, flavorful, and good) the kids plates were devoured. There's plenty of parking on the lot. Be sure that when you open a tab, you don't forget your card there, or a 20% gratuity will automatically be charged to your card! This wasn't the case for us, but I did see a sign at the register. Food was good, the service was great but experience was ruined by a group who brought at least ten small children who were running around yelling while their moms stood behind our table loudly talking. One mom even gave them an inflatable ball to kick around our table while they waited for more families to show up. read more

I was a little trepidatious after reading some of the reviews, but we were already here so we decided to just wing it and eat. My daughter had been once before and said the mac and cheese was a thumbs down, so we stayed away from that (there was couple with young kids behind us and they got a mac and cheese and a cheeseburger, the one who got the mac ended up splitting the cheeseburger with the other sibling and when they left there was a whole bowl of mac left with only 2 bites missing). I had had a Cuban sandwich, wife had the Milanese sandwich and 2 Rincon IPAs, kids had tri tip tacos and Cali burrito. All in all, the food was pretty good, nothing was something that made you not want to eat it (like apparently the mac n' cheese). My only nit would be that the Milanese sandwich was just meh. I would probably get something else. The Cuban was quite tasty, as were the sweet potato fries. Tacos and Cali burrito were good as well. I won't get hung up at the order at the bar and have them bring it to the table like some others. The atmosphere and servers were all pleasant. Best of all was the shuffleboard, pucks are at the counter. We had a great time playing while we waited for our food and after we finished. Speaking of after we finished, we splurged on our kids and got them root beer floats which were pretty good (my favorite desert). The only other mark is it is definitely expensive for what I felt was a good but not amazing meal.
