Came here for dinner with my family. This is an order at the counter, sit yourself down kinda place. We were able to find street parking and a table easily. Ordered a few slices and a few other best sellers. 1. Dr Pepperoni -- Kids loved their slice. Thin crust with crunchy pepperoni. I went for the same and really liked the sourdough crust. 2. Fungus Amungus -- This had a generous amount of toppings on it and was flavorful. 3. Garlic Fries -- I loved that these were thin. Had the right amount of garlic flavor. 4. Pizza Fries -- This is one of their best sellers so had to try. It didn't disappoint. Was yummy. Interesting concept. I also got one of the rice beers (lager) which I really liked. The staff were friendly. Will come back here if in the area.
Each time we visit Fluid State, we like it more and more each time. The drink selection is great with mixed drinks and beer/wine as choices. Their food items can feed a huge family! And the vibe is family oriented! It right at the top of Main Street, so after you enjoy your time here you can walk through Downtown Ventura.
This is one of my favorite places to go for a causal vibe and a solid drink! We typically just grab drinks here, but as it was happy hour we decided to try their meatballs! And boy were we disappointed: we spent five dollars for meatballs and it came with three little meatballs the size of a gum ball. Plus they were super dry. We learned our lesson: stick to the drinks!
I have been here soooo many times after my last review. I love this place. I typically sit outside and enjoy the vibe of Downtown Ventura. Service is friendly ! Drinks are great and the pizza ... delicious!!!! I was just here for the Dia de Los Muertos celebration and it was awesome!
How have I never reviewed Fluid State Beer Garden? I've been coming here for years, and somehow skipped giving them the love they deserve. Their food has never disappointed. I was back in town this weekend after moving away a little over a year ago, and of course my BF and I had to stop in. We grabbed a couple slices--Mr. Greens is my forever obsession--but honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The wings? Great. The pizza fries? Dangerous. Basically... you can't miss here. Always a win.
Always love Fluid state, stoped in for a Togo order and the lines were popping out the door down the sidewalk. The staff happy as usual handling patron after patron in a steady fashion. We ordered 3 whole pizzas a pizza fries and while we waited enjoyed one of their fantastic non alcoholic beers on the patio. I love their NA options they just have generic bs options they have good NA beer for those who choose to avoid alcohol or for those who prefer the responsible DD role.
We came in and it was pretty busy. The hosts were awesome. Ordered two pizzas and they took forever to come out. It took about an hour. Pizza was good though. Also ordered a drink from the bar and it wasn't all that good. Ventura downtown is always a good vibe and you can just sit outside whole you eat and drink which is nice and the people are usually really calm.
Fluid State is where it's at in Ventura. They've got a large patio attached to the building, indoor seating, and an extended patio in the street with picnic tables. They have an extensive beer list and serve liquor as well along with delicious pizza, salads, wings, pretzels, cheese boards, and more. To cap it off, they have sourdough bagels on the weekends if you go early before they sell out. It's a walk up to the counter, order, and get buzzed sort of atmosphere which is fine by me until the line is long and you want another drink. We swung by a couple of times during our stay in Ventura to drink and grab a slice. The Dr. Steve Brûlé is where it's at with the ricotta and hot honey. We had the Fungus pizza which had way too many mushrooms on it and were super slimy. The pretzel was delicious and salad refreshing. The ruby nectar cider and citra powered jet pack hazy were very tasty and ice cold.
Casual spot for a quick bite. Ordered at the bar and received drinks immediately, didn't have to wait long and the food was great! Tons of outdoor seating if you have a big group
People always say there's no parking in SoCal, but they always forget to look on the freeways. We had a lazy start to a long drive from LA to Big Sur on a holiday weekend. Even the strongest of couples may find their relationship challenged when faced with gridlock in a dead heat along the highway of hunger. So in the interest of maintaining world peace and not having to sleep in a bivvy, we yielded to the inevitable surrender of our appetites. Just a slice each for a quick detour turned into the most memorable coating of my tongue this year. The vegetarian Fungus Amungus was absolutely phenomenal. It was everything I had dreamed of as an earthy, multi textured garlic slice with the sweet acidic of pickled shallots and fresh parsley to balance it out. The toppings would be good on a taco or even just scooped from a jar with my bar. Fluid state is worth the detour, and I don't even drink beer
Ooh this was my favorite place we visited this past weekend. Their queen margherita pizza was heaven! I also discovered a new favorite cider here- the Yuzu Ginger! This is a no frills place with great vibes. Hubby and I came back for a second visit and had their Gnotty G which came with a pretzel, blue cheese stuffed olives and almonds. So tasty! I look forward to coming back and trying some more food the next time we're in the area.
This was my first time here and when I saw the line was out the door I thought it would take a while but surprisingly it moved along pretty fast. You order at the counter and they give you a buzzer. They have a wide selection of drinks and food. I got a slice of the Perfect Storm and Fungus Amungus. Both tasted very good. The only issue was the crust of one slice was a bit burnt so I could only pick off the toppings to eat. I also got the Clean House salad, but it didn't stand out so I'll probably try one of the other ones next time. There is a small patio area off to the side, and with the extra seating on Main there was plenty of seating although it can get quite busy. This is a great family friendly and pet friendly place. We had a great time and will definitely be back.

A local favorite for good reason. Fluid State is the kind of spot that's perfect for a casual lunch, dinner with friends, or grabbing a slice after a long day. The laid-back atmosphere, indoor and outdoor seating, and dog-friendly patio make it easy to settle in, and the full bar with 24 rotating taps of independent craft beer is a huge bonus. My go-to slices are the Fungus Amungus and the Dr. Pepperoni, but the real surprise is the Caesar salad. I know... ordering a salad at a pizza place sounds questionable, but I'm obsessed. The service is always friendly and efficient, and the quality for the price is hard to beat. Whether you're stopping in for a quick slice or staying awhile with friends, it's one of those places you'll keep coming back to. read more
FAVORITE IN ALL OF CA! STAFF...always awesome! Everything about this place is amazing. All of the pizzas are delicious. The menu continues to grow and get more interesting every time I visit. Actually live in San Diego and find reasons to travel up here "for work"...buuuut, also PIZZA. NO TVs! ALWAYS a killer Playlist! The beer is so interesting from light to dark. I always enjoy a little light reading when I review the different beer writeups. It's a buzzing cacophony of pizza-fueled jubilation! read more

Giant pizza but thin crust so it's the perfect size for two or three people! The flavors explode in your mouth! We had the one with hot honey. So good. The Caesar salad was fresh and bright. The margaritas were average. Service at the counter is so nice. The ambience is pretty loud but doable. read more

Counter Service is the rule of the day. We ordered a 1/2 Dr. Pepperoni, Pepperoni, Fresh Mozzarella, Aged Mozzarella, Roasted Garlic Oil, Fire-Roasted Tomato Sauce. And 1/2 a Hanker for a Hunk O' Hole Pie Fresh Mozzarella, Aged Mozzarella, Pecorino Romano, Fontina, Roasted Garlic Oil, Fire-Roasted Tomato Sauce.added a slice of their Perfect Storm, Chopped Sea Clams, Roasted Garlic, EVOO, Pecorino Romano, Italian Parsley. We also ordered some Garlic & Parmigiana fries A few Mixed Drinks and a few Beers. We sat inside but outside seating is available. One of our favorite pizza places! read more

Their Sourdough Wood Fired Pizza is the best of this type in Ventura County. Recommend the Fungi (Mushroom pizza) however have tried several and most are good. Wings, burgers and salad are all very good too. They have a good beer selection and a full bar. Really enjoy coming here lately. read more
Another beer garden that's worth trying out. Main Street does have some of their gems here and there. Walked in which was quite busy. That's normally a good sign that the place is worth it. There's a bar to one side with seating. You order from the counter for food and drinks. Didn't have food but seemed like they're known for pizza. Slices or a whole pizza can be purchased which honestly looked amazing from what I've seen. Loads of slices were ordered. Drink wise, there were loads to choose from. Looked like a full bar and a good selection of beer on tap. Just came in for some drinks. Both the Bloody Mary which was served with pickled veggies and a slice of bacon was quite nice. As well as the margaritas. Price wise was great as well. Majority of the picnic table seating on the side were all taken but they also have a good section in front that has plenty of table as well. From this visit, the drinks were quite nice but will for sure have to make another visit for some pizzas. read more

Fluid state is one of my go to's when it comes to pizza! we love getting the Dr. pepperoni, margarita and the fungus pizza! we tried the wings and i really recommend to get them naked and get both sauces on the side. the salad is a good 8/10! it has the perfect amount of dressing and it's definitely shareable read more
I live nearby this place, and I've read great reviews about it. Surprisingly, I've never been there. I can't believe it, but it's true! We finally made it here! I decided to try their Lilikoi Margarita, crafted with blanco tequila, passion fruit puree, lime juice, and homemade agave syrup. It was incredibly delicious! But the real standout was their House Margarita--an absolute gem, second only to the one I had in Cancun some years ago. It shares the same base ingredients as the Lilikoi Margarita, except for the absence of passion fruit puree. I also had their Pizza Fries, topped with pepperonis and melted cheese, on a bed of fries. The portion was generous, and it was both satisfying and filling. I particularly enjoyed the crispy texture of the fries and the perfect balance of the sauce. The service was excellent! The friendly staff member who took our order at the register helped me in choosing the right drink. Since this is a bar-style restaurant, you order your drinks and food, then pick up your food when it's ready. Despite how busy it is, the place has plenty of seating, making it a great option for families. My son was thrilled with the Star Wars decorations adorning the establishment. It's an excellent choice for a casual drink or a light dinner. read more

I got the garlic fries and loved how big and shareable the portion was. The fries were thin, crispy, and full of flavor. I also tried a slice of the Dr. Steve Brule, and I appreciated the generous scoop of ricotta on top. Next time, I'd love to try their wings. read more

Yeah. Honestly not sure how I feel about this place quite yet. Rating could change but let's get into it. Service is slow and not attentive what so ever. If you want something? Better walk up to the bar. Then work your way into a middle of people for no reason and be demanding of things you already paid for. Then them acting like it's a problem when you paid for it. What a joke. Ordered a whole cheese pizza. Which was actually pretty good. Might have been better without the added cheese and just basic. The dough here is spot on. Sauce is legit. Things I noticed off the bat is. Really bad parking. Horrible if you're a car person. Seems like a tourist trap. Very clean inside. Awesome that there's no TV's and just good conversation. Would I return? Honestly.... I'm debating. The prices are outrageous for the location. I'd say try it out if you enjoy beer. That's obviously what it's known for. read more
Fluid State has the best beer selection on Main Street in Ventura. This place has a ton of craft beer options and oftentimes has some pretty rare finds. This is a great spot to sit on the patio and drink a beer or two. They also have a couple wine options and a full bar. I haven't eaten here yet, but the food looks pretty good too. This place does get crowded, so you can expect a line on weekends. There's also an outdoor bar as well that has a limited menu if you don't want to wait to order inside. read more

Get in line at noon (typically the first Friday of the month) and try one of these masterpieces. The patty is fantastic, I love the crispy onions and the bun is especially awesome! read more

Yes, they're very dog friendly. Will even bring out a bowl of water for your pup!
Is this a sit yourself place or do you wait to be seated. Just asking because we are a family of 8?
You have to seat yourself. It's a popular place (for a good reason) so parties that large can be difficult to seat together during busy hours.
Are there heaters on the patio?
Yes, there are heaters on the patio! Although, in order to save energy, we don’t turn them on unless the temp dips below 65°. Cheers!
