Came here for dinner with my family. This is an order at the counter, sit yourself down kinda place. We were able to find street parking and a table easily. Ordered a few slices and a few other best sellers. 1. Dr Pepperoni -- Kids loved their slice. Thin crust with crunchy pepperoni. I went for the same and really liked the sourdough crust. 2. Fungus Amungus -- This had a generous amount of toppings on it and was flavorful. 3. Garlic Fries -- I loved that these were thin. Had the right amount of garlic flavor. 4. Pizza Fries -- This is one of their best sellers so had to try. It didn't disappoint. Was yummy. Interesting concept. I also got one of the rice beers (lager) which I really liked. Cool spot @unemployedeater wrote about on IG. Ordered a clam pizza ahead for pickup. Wasn't ready yet so ordered green & pepperoni slices for the road while sitting at the bar. Tasted a few sours/beers but was driving to LA so only tasted this visit. Liked what I tried though. And hey Pliny on tap, my guy will love that! Loved the green slice the best, second pepperoni and sadly distant third on the clam. This is one of my favorite places to go for a causal vibe and a solid drink! We typically just grab drinks here, but as it was happy hour we decided to try their meatballs! And boy were we disappointed: we spent five dollars for meatballs and it came with three little meatballs the size of a gum ball. Plus they were super dry. I can't believe I've never reviewed this place, I swear that I at least started to write a review at some point while I was waiting for my pizza?? Maybe I got too drunk and forgot about it? Yep, that might be it.. Anyways, I'm not going to say that the wait is always long (duhh, it's great food) I'm not going to say that it is always packed (duhh, it's great food) and I am definately not going to complain that they took the Street Fighter arcade away, ok that I am going to complain about :P The pizza cust is very delicious and the crazy combinations they have are always very enjoyable. How have I never reviewed Fluid State Beer Garden? I've been coming here for years, and somehow skipped giving them the love they deserve. Their food has never disappointed. I was back in town this weekend after moving away a little over a year ago, and of course my BF and I had to stop in. We grabbed a couple slices--Mr. Greens is my forever obsession--but honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The wings? Great. The pizza fries? Dangerous. When we walked in it was busy but not too busy. A good amount of people with still enough places to sit. The gentleman who took our order was very friendly. We were going to order one whole pizza and a slice (so we could try a flavor of pizza our son wouldn't eat) but he recommended us that we could do half and half! Turned out perfectly! We ordered half Dr. Pepperoni and half fungus Amungus. We also ordered the Thai chicken wings. We received our beeper and went and sat down outside. The wait didn't take too long before our food was ready to retrieve inside from the counter. The pizza is a great size. Definitely big enough for 3-4 people to share! Generous toppings. I appreciate that bc so many pizza places charge an arm and a leg and give you two toppings on a large pizza. I see a lot of reviews complaining about the prize but I think you really get a lot of bang for your buck and it's not really any different in price compared to our local pizza eateries. The fungus Amungus was great. Had a TON of mushrooms on it which we loved. The pickled onions added a wonderful contrast. 9/10 The Dr. Pepperoni had a generous amount of mini pepperoni cups that were perfectly cooked. Not too crispy but not underdone. Personally would have liked maybe fresh jalapeño slices but I love my food spicy 9/10 The Thai chicken wings were spectacular! The sauce they use on them would make a SPECTACULAR Thai chicken pizza!! The amount of peanuts was perfect for my taste...I love a lot of peanuts on my Thai food. 10/10 Overall we will more than likely be back. The vibes were great, the food wonderful. They have an extensive beer list and serve liquor as well along with delicious pizza, salads, wings, pretzels, cheese boards, and more. To cap it off, they have sourdough bagels on the weekends if you go early before they sell out. It's a walk up to the counter, order, and get buzzed sort of atmosphere which is fine by me until the line is long and you want another drink. We swung by a couple of times during our stay in Ventura to drink and grab a slice. The Dr. Steve Brûlé is where it's at with the ricotta and hot honey. We had the Fungus pizza which had way too many mushrooms on it and were super slimy. The pretzel was delicious and salad refreshing. I live in Santa Barbara but will be in Ventura for the next few months. Been asking around for the best pizza and was told fluid. Decided to ride our bikes downtown and check it out. Ventura's downtown area is SO MUCH BETTER than Santa Barbara- cleaner, not many vacant stores, not witnessing open drug use on the streets or panhandling. Also not seeing lots of kids on e bikes being rude and aggressive like in Santa Barbara. Now to Fluid- great space with lots of outdoor seating. We ordered the Thai chicken wings, Caesar salad, and the Khachapuri. The wings had a really nice Thai flavor, the Caesar dressing was light and lemony, very well balanced, and the salad was dressed perfectly. The Khachapuri was delicious, the fresh baked sourdough with cheese and eggs?!? Wow. We didn't have room to try anything else, left with a full togo box but will be back to try the pizza. read more

Ooh this was my favorite place we visited this past weekend. Their queen margherita pizza was heaven! I also discovered a new favorite cider here- the Yuzu Ginger! This is a no frills place with great vibes. Hubby and I came back for a second visit and had their Gnotty G which came with a pretzel, blue cheese stuffed olives and almonds. So tasty! This was my first time here and when I saw the line was out the door I thought it would take a while but surprisingly it moved along pretty fast. You order at the counter and they give you a buzzer. They have a wide selection of drinks and food. I got a slice of the Perfect Storm and Fungus Amungus. Both tasted very good. The only issue was the crust of one slice was a bit burnt so I could only pick off the toppings to eat. I also got the Clean House salad, but it didn't stand out so I'll probably try one of the other ones next time. There is a small patio area off to the side, and with the extra seating on Main there was plenty of seating although it can get quite busy. This is a great family friendly and pet friendly place. Another beer garden that's worth trying out. Main Street does have some of their gems here and there. Walked in which was quite busy. That's normally a good sign that the place is worth it. There's a bar to one side with seating. You order from the counter for food and drinks. Didn't have food but seemed like they're known for pizza. Slices or a whole pizza can be purchased which honestly looked amazing from what I've seen. Loads of slices were ordered. Drink wise, there were loads to choose from. Looked like a full bar and a good selection of beer on tap. Just came in for some drinks. Both the Bloody Mary which was served with pickled veggies and a slice of bacon was quite nice. As well as the margaritas. Price wise was great as well. Majority of the picnic table seating on the side were all taken but they also have a good section in front that has plenty of table as well. I live nearby this place, and I've read great reviews about it. Surprisingly, I've never been there. I can't believe it, but it's true! We finally made it here! I decided to try their Lilikoi Margarita, crafted with blanco tequila, passion fruit puree, lime juice, and homemade agave syrup. It was incredibly delicious! But the real standout was their House Margarita--an absolute gem, second only to the one I had in Cancun some years ago. It shares the same base ingredients as the Lilikoi Margarita, except for the absence of passion fruit puree. I also had their Pizza Fries, topped with pepperonis and melted cheese, on a bed of fries. The portion was generous, and it was both satisfying and filling. I particularly enjoyed the crispy texture of the fries and the perfect balance of the sauce. The service was excellent! The friendly staff member who took our order at the register helped me in choosing the right drink. Since this is a bar-style restaurant, you order your drinks and food, then pick up your food when it's ready. Despite how busy it is, the place has plenty of seating, making it a great option for families. My son was thrilled with the Star Wars decorations adorning the establishment. The service is terrible. I've been meaning to write about this for years, sadly. I find it's mainly some of the women working there, who I've encountered , have unnecessary attitudes , people are pretty short and curt here. Over the phone and in person, not sure what the deal is there. Years ago there was a very talented man who worked as a chef here, Alex was his name, during those few years the pizza was amazing! The fungus amongus is truly a special pizza for mushroom lovers. However tried it again twice, tonight and two years ago. It just isn't the same... there's some sort of masa-flavor or something used on the dough, maybe to prevent it from sticking? Not sure; but it's strong and overpowering. After dealing with the rude owner from backbench pizza(see my review on that page for context) it was upsetting and disappointing since I really wanted to try a new really good pizza spot aside from Tony's I was torn between this place and backbench so I went with backbench which again was a huge mistake but thankfully it made me realize things truly do happen for a reason because I ended up trying this gem after all and wow this is definitely amazing pizza definitely top three with Tony's and Pizzeria Sei in LA and good service which also note on that I don't care much about service or attentiveness as long as they're decent and kind so that should say a lot about my only one star review I've ever given to backbench. read more
