This is my go to salad and wine spot. It's my guys go to smash burger and beer spot. Great vibes always. Chill atmosphere with a few arcade games for the kids or adults like me that never grow up. Staff were friendly, the food was better than regular bar food, and a large selection of beers (check out Spring Break) ranging from 4-10%. My wife and I went to eat here. She is gluten free, so normally she just orders fries at theses types of places. Because there were battered fries and gluten free fries, we ordered the gluten free, thinking the fries would be like any other non-battered fries. They were terrible. Completely inedible. They wouldn't give me a refund for them, which is one thing, but the manager then tried to gaslight me into thinking the fries were bad BECAUSE they were gluten free, as if Nick The Greek next door is not serving perfectly good "gluten free" fries. And finally I suggested to remove the fries from the menu to reduce complaints, all I got was "Well that's just your opinion, Bro." read more

This review is long overdue, we absolutely love the food and beer here. Typically we gravitate towards IPAs and Pales which are always excellent. I recently had the chai stout which was insanely delicious as well. I have tried most of the menu by this point and my favorites are the bellringer double smash and ceasar salad. Hubby loves the tacos. My daughter devours the burgers and fries and giant soft pretzels. We have enjoyed the specials as well. I feel comfortable here with the family, date nights, and alone on shopping breaks. This is a family owned restaurant and they treat us like family. Stopped by here while spending the day in Downtown Ventura and this spot did NOT disappoint. So many excellent beers to choose from and a ton of great food. This particular restaurant replaced Anacapa Brewery which we were regular customers of for a very long time. The food was not bad and was very reasonably priced. It definitely lacks the elevated microbrewery environment that was there before. It's more of a short order grunge bar kind of environment. This place is freakin GOOD. Everything in their kitchen is made from scratch and you can tell. Food is bomb. Beer is cold and tasty. Crispiest French fries in town and a killer happy hour. We were on the waitlist for finneys and came here for a beer. Two minute conversation with the bartender (didn't catch his name but he's a lean guy with long wavy blond hair) and we were stoked to stay. Much rather support our local small businesses!! I ordered the Caesar salad, garlic fries and the galactic IPA beer. The romaine in my salad was green and fresh, Parmesan top notch, and the dressing literally deserves its own spot on the menu. Our food came out so fast but tasted like they spent an hour perfecting the meal back there. So happy we decided to stroll a couple doors down from the chain restaurant, will be back!!! read more

Sat down and was given literally 10 seconds before the bartender snapped at us asking what we were going to order. We were in such disbelief that we felt like we had been reprimanded by a teacher and were in trouble. We had no time to even process what was on the beer menu. We had planned on ordering dinner, but because of the way we were treated decided not to. Most definitely won't be back because of the rude bartender. Tried this place after a local foodie posted a rave review. We went here last Saturday night to grab some beers and food for my husband's birthday and wanted to try something new. It was pretty dead at 6:30 PM on a Saturday night. Drinks: If you like IPA's this place is for you. If you don't, like everyone in my party, you're shit out of luck because they make up 90% of the beer menu. I settled for a spiked lemonade that tasted like maybe a drop of lemon juice was added to a mineral water. Food: Honestly the best thing that was ordered was a salad. Smash burgers had ZERO flavor. We ordered a single smash, a chili smash, and the Bellringer Smash. No flavor on any of the meat or the chili. The jalapeños on the Bellringer are the only thing that saved that burger. Spam Musubi was okay. Garlic fries were super tasty. And again, the salad was good. All in all, we were left feeling unsatisfied. Everything was just....fine. We got the vegan soyrizo tacos, chicken club, chili, and jalapeño poppers. The middle two seemed to be well-enjoyed by the other people in my party. Popped into the new Bellringer Brewery for lunch on a Friday afternoon. I'm going to be totally honest, my expectations for the food were low. It's a brewery, so I always expect great beer and just decent food. Although, I had already heard good things about their burger. Before I could make any judgements I needed to try it for myself. I'll admit...I'm a burger snob. I was a fry cook for 8 years so I generally don't care for the atypical toppings. I'm usually the most satisfied with the ordinary lettuce, tomato, onion & pickle. Maybe some k & m. After trying the Bellringer Double Smash burger, my love for the standard burger has been compromised. I find myself literally day-dreaming about this burger. Brisket/short-rib/chuck patties are next level. & don't even get me started on the soy-pickled jalapeños. The entire thing literally MELTS in your mouth. I split it with my friend but I'm going back for my own ASAP. I've also heard the hot dogs are necessary. So I guess I'll be downing an entire burger and dog the next time I'm there. Oh and I guess I should mention the beer? I don't even remember which one I got! The burger got me in some sort of trance. But both beers were solid. Atmosphere is hip and fun. Food is over priced. The beer is OK. I don't like it when you have to go to the bar and order your food and they expect you to tip them.

Finally stopped by today, I'm always excited for a new brewery in town. I haven't had the food yet but my biggest gripe at the moment is that the online taplist is not kept up to date. With an enormous variety of breweries in town I rely on the websites to see what is currently on tap, as they all change often. I saw an Imperial Stout on tap and I made the trip here just for that beer and they were out. (The guy sort of acted like it was my fault, saying "we haven't had that one for a while". Umm, you just opened recently and it's literally listed online but okay thanks.) He did offer an Imperial Porter that was not on the website OR on the printed taplist and it tasted good but the point is GET YOUR TAPLISTS TOGETHER please. You absolutely must keep your website up to date, that's a huge oversight. I'll give you one more try to check out the food as well but we've all got endless options for good craft beer that have much easier parking and up-to-the-minute taplists online so do better. read more

From the 20 dollar lunch 'special' which featured two sad fish tacos with a literal fish stick's worth of meat(as big as my finger) on top of street taco sized tortillas so stale they might have been cardboard coasters because they tasted like it. Served with unsalted, unseasoned beans that could've come straight from the can considering they were cold and a sad side of chips. At that point- just take the tacos off your menu. You clearly don't care about your food quality, but charging $20 for them- that's straight up robbery lol. Their Mexican lager was okay but was under poured with a side of the sad bartender.
