We passed by on the weekend and there was a crowd waiting outside. We decided to try again early on Monday morning. Thank goodness, we got a table quickly. This is a quaint restaurant with a very friendly staff. We were first introduced to this lovely cafe last year on a visit to my daughter. We loved the food then, and were happy to make another visit. I had the cinnamon roll last time and again at this visit- to share with the table. I got the corner cakes this time. It was delish! I think I will make my visits here an annual occurrence. Visited on a busy Sunday afternoon for brunch. The wait was no more than 15 mins. We were seated at a great table in the shade on the patio. Server was prompt, friendly and helpful with suggestions. The Mexican Benedict was very good, egg perfectly cooked. BF had a scramble and enjoyed it but especially loved the homemade biscuit. I still love the food and the waitresses. However they get so busy now that the customer service really suffers. I went the other day on a Monday and it was quoted a 20-25 minute wait. We wait 35 minutes to be seated. Another 15-20 minutes to get our order taken. Another 15-30 minutes until our food came out. And then one of our orders were was wrong and we had to get everything to go as they had taken so long. It just isn't the same casual, fun atmosphere where you can wait a few minutes, get a table, order food and receive it all within 30 minutes any more. The food is still delicious though so at least that has absolutely not budged. However I will also mention that often, when they are busy, the bussers (?) (girls who bring drinks ms and clear tables) are not patient or kind-they don't even make eye contact with you so you can't ask them anything. Miss the old vibes. read more

I know this sounds crazy, but I had never been to this restaurant, even though it's just a short walk from my house. Now that I've been there, I'm so glad I finally went! The restaurant is much bigger than I imagined. The service was amazing; all the waitresses were incredibly attentive and helpful. The food was fantastic! My family and I ordered their corner cakes, waffles, chicken, kids' cheeseburger, and chicken strips with fries. I tried a little bit of everything, and it was all delicious. Came Saturday morning. While there was a long line, our party of 2 was seated immediately at the bar. The bar only has alcohol, no cold coffees unfortunately. Breakfast burger - very juicy and quality ingredients but the meat itself was bland. Like it wasn't seasoned . Spicy Mexican Benedict- the hollandaise was good, but I'm hesitant to actually call it a hollandaise. It's an entirely new sauce. The chorizo was great. The o'brian potatoes were my favorite part. I came to Art's specifically for their homemade cinnamon roll and it did not disappoint. The inside was oh so ooey gooey and the frosting had that quality homemade consistency - not the sometimes stale flakiness that you get elsewhere. Along with that I got a side of hash browns which wasn't anything special but still a good breakfast staple. Our waitress served us quickly and was very friendly. The inside and outside was super cute like modern diner vibes, and the colors were everything. They have an outdoor seating area which looked nice but it was pretty warm that day so we opted to sit inside. It was extremely loud when we got there but when the Birthday party left, quoted down. We were served coffee right away, but the mugs are very small. Coffee was good not excellent. They have a large menu filled with all sorts of great options so it took some time to choose what we wanted to order. We had heard about their Cinnamon Roll, so decided to start off with that and can honestly say it is very good. The thing I like most about it is that it is homemade and almost has a brioche taste to it, but the icing itself is very light and really easy to eat it almost too fast. I would highly recommend ordering it. For my breakfast, I chose the Spicy Mexican Benedict and really enjoyed it. I am a sucker for anything with chorizo and avocado so when I saw that combination, it was a no-brainer for me. Overall, it was really good and cooked perfectly and I was very happy with it. We ordered the "World's Best Cinnamon Roll" ($9), chicken fried steak ($21), and the new york steak & eggs ($28). I felt that everything was fairly priced. After we ordered, the food came SO FAST... suspiciously fast... The cinnamon roll came first, within less than five minutes. I had high expectations for this as it was advertised to be the best in the world. I am comparing this cinnamon roll to the ones over at Pete's Breakfast House. The one here is good, but didn't meet the high expectations I had. It just wasn't as hot as I thought it would be. And that made the icing on top not "melt" into the cinnamon roll. It kinda tasted like it was sitting out for a while. The presentation is amazing however and it looks so good!! The chicken fried steak wasn't what I expected... I think the batter of the chicken fried steak was actually made out of tempura? I don't know... I just didn't really like this "tempura-like" taste. Good portion size though! Lastly, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the New York Steak and Eggs. It's on the pricier end of the dishes ordered today but WORTH IT! Very delicious and cooked well. I came here for lunch with friends and had an overall okay experience. I know this place is known for their cinnamon rolls, which one of my friends ordered, and she said it was really good. I decided to try the breakfast burrito with chorizo. It came with hash browns on the side, which were actually great--crispy and flavorful. Unfortunately, the burrito itself was pretty mediocre. The chorizo made it very greasy, which left the tortilla soggy, and overall it just lacked flavor. I ended up adding salsa, which helped a little, but it's definitely not something I would order again.
