We got ours to go & each burrito was in it's own bag with chips, red & green salsa & napkins. Very clean, well laid out and with a clear and easy to follow menu. I had the Mojarra Frita and a bite of the Pollo and Asada tacos. All were excellent and very reasonable pricing. And the Jamaica was some of the best I've had... to be fair I find most way to sweet for my taste I like mine somewhat tart and La Mancha did not disappoint, can't think of one I've had better! There a lots of spots here that are absolutely terrific and La Mancha is one of them. Look at my headline: this is not where I found those tacos. You have to love La Mancha. They have a sweet family restaurant there. It's colorful, the staff are friendly. I love the paintings. Someone designed this restaurant with love and care. We got a to-go order, but asked for chips and salsa and were given them for free, in a cute serving dish. My fiancé loved their salsa. While that condiment became important to me later, at the time I told him that I could make it myself. Better. He is sure it was fresh. Maybe. Or maybe freshly purchased, was my thought. The menu items looked appealing and fun. Various platters, dozens of combos. Not seeing an a la cart, single taco option, I had settled on their three taco combo, no rice and beans. Next time, I'll be back for the birria, I thought to myself. But, this time I wanted the hard-shelled taco with shredded beef, lettuce, and cheese rather than an authentic street taco. Mood. The cashier said the hard-shelled taco also had sour cream. Only my fiancé wanted that. We waited, with our chips and debatable salsa. It was good; we finished it and my fiancé asked for more to go. Now we're home and I opened the box. I do not feel the same love I did in the restaurant. Maybe it's my fault that things were tossed about at least a little bit. But not that two of my three tacos shells were not just broken but shattered, so I had to eat them from the container with my fork. And, I didn't understand the shells anyways; they had a weird texture, grill marks (?) and kind of a bland, artificial taste. Sour cream was oddly sprinkled to and fro amongst the tacos; I couldn't tell which one to give my fiancé. There was barely any cheese, so I had scavenge around to get it on the tacos, but lots of lettuce. Sadly, while it had good flavor, the meat was tough to chew. This is where the salsa came into play. I poured it all over, on a salvage mission. But, alas, all it did was add to the unwanted cold interplay with the sour cream, making my dish tepid. These things are fixable. If you have good flavor and good atmosphere, play to that. My fiancé said that maybe we would have had a better dining experience and maybe the food would have been better if we had ate in the restaurant. Let me start of by saying we saw this place on social media. So what to do on a Sunday afternoon??? Take a drive to Oxnard California. We live in Burbank and the drive is 1hr not bad.
