The food was 7/10 Check this out we paid $35 for a can of soda and two supreme nachos. The receipt shows an order of three tacos, beans and rice when we Ordered two nachos. The lady tells me it is the same price for both meals. Refuses to change the order to make it correct on the receipt. so we asked for a printout of the receipt. Here's the funny part; Lupitas restaurant makes a whole new receipt that cost less than the first one., which was 24$ and some change. Two different prices for meals Both nachos came with no beans my girl realized it as I was getting served the second order, the lady told me that she had put beans in there when I was showing her there was none, then she told me to check mine and mine didn't have any either: they had put a small dried out smear at the bottom, I let her know that I just want my beans and they were telling me that "customers don't like beans so that's why they barely put Any" -I am not other customers...I responded. These ladies got behind each other and we're arguing with me and telling me that I misunderstood the order and I ordered incorrectly. I told these ladies to make my order right that I didn't wanna argue and they continue to tell me that I made a human error which is not a problem, but I am not gonna sit there and argue with people when I know better. Everyone needs to know this because it's not the first time and it won't be the last. Their torta was okay. Though 2 female staff (older lady and younger lady possible mother and daughter) are horrible with customer service. I asked how many salsa come with the meal and the young lady point at a sign with her gloves on and rolled her eyes, sign had 3 salsa for $1. I again asked how many come with my meal and she said none. They apparently don't provide salsa with food and/or chips anymore. After today's experience with the attitude I was given I will no longer go here and I don't recommend this place anymore! read more

Recently the service has been awful. I went to go pick up a burrito and a torta and the young woman cashier told me that they no longer provided salsa with their food and that I needed to pay extra for the salsa. Was super surprised. Not only that, but she was super rude about it. I used to really enjoy the food and service but I would no longer recommend this location. read more

Wow!! I've seen this place while driving many times or while I went to Starbucks or Panda Express. I wish I had went in sooner. First time I went here was five days ago. I tried the Super Asada Burrito and the Supreme Nachos with asada. I was shocked how great they were! They loaded those nachos up really good. I was so full I had to wait after an hour to eat my burrito. When I finally bit into that burrito I was again very happy. The Super Burrito they add sour cream and cheese. This burrito satisfied me so much I went again today! This time along with the Super Burrito I ordered Crunchy Potato Tacos and Guacamole and Chips. OMG! The Potato Tacos were perfect! The crunch was just right and was delicious. Now for their guacamole......mmmmmmm! So damn good. I want more! Next time I go there I will take pictures. read more

First time here and will be the last. Husband and I called Sunday morning for 2 chilaquiles with no sour cream, girl pick up the phone shitty attitude. Told us it'll take 15-20 mins ok coo that's fine. Got there and they barely started making the chilaquiles mind you they were not even busy at all. And don't forget Taco Tuesday! Went mid-day, ordered a carne asada taco that was sooo flavorful & generously stacked. Also had the chorizo & eggs that came with small side salad & guac., and was absolutely delish. My daughter ordered green chilaquiles + eggs which she loved. The food tasted like trash, smelly meat. Spoiled? Gross! On top of that, cook doesn't even wash their hands and touch your food. Great food, very nice people. The meats are delicious, especially the tacos. I ordered the pozole and menudo this time around since it was the weekend. The pozole isn't salty in good way. It's tasty but I would consider it a "meal". It more of a side complement to an entree. I have a specific preference for pozole. The menudo is much better and flavorful. Lots of meat pieces. I forgot to pack my lunch for work and I thought why not try a new local Mexican restaurant?! I've heard good stuff about Lupita's Restaurant and it lived up to the good reviews. I ordered a carne asada burrito with everything on it. The asada was flavorful, a tad saltier than what I'm used to, but it wasn't too salty for me. Overall, the flavor was great. And they pack this burrito with so much meat!!! I got full half way into the burrito because it was such a meaty burrito. Their salsa verde has a little bit more heat than the average salsa verde and I was into it. Very good. And they have Taco Tuesdays AND Taco Fridays! Love them for that! (Tacos are $1.75 from 3pm-8pm on Tuesdays and Fridays.) I'll definitely be "forgetting" to pack my lunch again so I have an excuse to get another burrito from Lupita's! read more

On the corner of Rose and Channel Islands is a hidden Gem. I must say from the outside looking in it just looks like your typical Mexican Restaurant and I was not expecting much walking in. Once you walk in though, you begin to notice that they're actually quite busy inside and the interior is decorated very nicely. I ordered a Asada Super burrito and it was on point. None of the ingredients were bland. The Asada was very tasteful, beans and rice were fresh, pico de gallo was good, and salsa was magnificent. The sauce was actually spicy and had a really good taste. I've been here now a handful of times and I always want to try something new but I just can't get myself to not order this amazing burrito. Also, every now and then with the super burrito order at least, they've gave me some free extra meat on the side for me to try their other meats and that is very good marketing I must say. I definitely do not recommend. The waitress here got upset for me bringing up two separate issues while here. I'm in fact still here while waiting for my food to be remade. The first issue was the soda machine. All the different sodas flavors were not working and sprayed all over. Not only did this make a mess it left me without the drink I had intended to get. The waitress got upset when that was brought up and to be fair their solution was two cans of coke which I was fine with. Next issue was my food hence why it was being remade. I asked what their asada fries had in it and she told me. I asked for my sour cream to be placed on the side which they did. But when I went to eat my food it had other things on it like pico de gallo and cilantro on it which weren't mentioned. This is a minor inconvenience but not a big deal. I happen to be one of those unlucky people who taste soap when eating cilantro. So I bring this up and say none of this was mentioned as being on the food. The waitress instead begins to argue with me and refuse to redo my food claiming I ordered it like that. That is what prompt me to do this review. Fortunately the cook there was way more on it in the customer service department than she was. He made her take the food back and told me he'll redo it the way I preferred. Ordered a breakfast burrito that was priced at $9.95 on the menu. I was charged 12.95 and when I questioned why the price was different I was told that "the prices haven't been updated and that they were actually told by another customer about the incorrect prices but just haven't changed them yet". That's a little more expensive compared to other surrounding restaurants. It was just your average chorizo breakfast burrito and it only came with eggs, rice & beans. It was an extra $2 to add potatoes. To top it off, a regular medium fountain drink was like $4.95 and I'm not sure if they hadn't changed out the syrup or CO2 tank but all the drinks were flat and had minimal flavor, at least they were nice enough to switch it out for a bottled drink instead. read more

I visited this place and let me just say the torta was delicious! Costumers service from the owner and people are top notch. The only thing that made me a bit sad was that the lady at the register forgot my order and i was served all the way at the end when people before me were getting their orders first. I'm super picky with Mexican food, but when I first ordered from this restaurant I tested out the rice and beans... if they are good then the food is good. Most places the rice and beans usually disappoint- WELL LET ME TELL YOU... Lupitas did not disappoint! So freaking good. Today I ordered chilaqules (red) and a potato taco. Omg they were so good. The taco shell was the perfect crunch and my chilaquiles were the best I've had at any Mexican joint. So happy this restaurant is close by (there is another location in El Rio) because I will be sending the hubby to buy me food often. read more

The Channel Islands location is very convenient for me. I always enjoy having lunch with my coworkers. The location is small but we always manage. The service is always the best, the cashier and cooks are always there to greet you with a smile and a thank you (gracias) when you leave. Best asada burrito I've had in a while. Burrito comes with rice beans meat cheese salsa (red or green) onions and cilantro. I for no beans no onions with green salsa and was so good! Asada wasn't dry and salsa was flavorful and not spicy :) very happy. read more
