A place recommended by a contractor who fixed our windows in Oxnard California. The man claims this is the best Mexican birria he's ever had in his life. With that being said, I wanted to try it out. This was about 2 years ago prior to this visit I had today at this location. I jotted the note down after overhearing him talking about it while watching Netflix. When arriving, the environment outside is run down, old fashioned and in the scary graffiti, homeless surrounding. Parking is difficult to find, but we got lucky me and a colleague. The place is on a road side where parking it located a few streets between about 100 feet away. The surrounding had graffiti and loitering which was unpleasant and I would imagine it is worse at night, be careful here! Inside, a wonderful aroma excites you as you enter the restaurant. Booths all around and hard uncomfortable seats. A lot of people came here today on Sunday afternoon. Customer service was excellent, the guy at the front was very chill, polite and acted as if I was his homie, buddy or good friend. This is what I like. I ordered the birria of course, a meat drenched in a bunch of flavors for days to keep the meat juicy, tender and moist. The variations ordered were three tacos plate with birria, onions cilantro and a consome that was massive. This meal was $17. The other order was a four piece birria quesadilla that was absolutely delightful, succulent and had a delicious hunger craving aroma and flavor that any starving or hungry person would die for! This plate was $14. The tacos did come with beans and rice. Between the two dishes the birria quesadilla was my favorite however, the tacos tasted better. The tortilla of the tacos was fresh and made with love. The value was regular, something I expected compared to taco trucks and side vendors of Mexican food. This place is extraordinary. I felt guilty after consumption because it was fatty, juicy and everything you would want in a pleasurable meal, but it was heavy on the calories and filling. It was a messy meal, I added salsas, more seasoning from the condiments bar. There were so many different sauces and fillings like lemon etc. to balance the flavors of the birria. The console incuded was an added kick that I loved. Definitely one of the best if not the best birria I ever had and I highly recommend this place if you like Mexican cuisine at its finest. An absolute hidden treasure that you need to try! I'll come back after a month of consistent cardio and strength training to burn enough fat and make room for another appetite that soothes my brain cells. read more

It was my first time trying this spot out but it won't be my last visit. Yes, parking was a little challenging but worth it. Place isn't too big inside and it was packed when we went on a Saturday afternoon. I was for sure going to get the nachos and tacos but wanted more. Jesus was kind enough to recommend the grilled cheese and burrito. Both were great recs and delish! I mean I thought about the grilled cheese and burrito days after. From the outside this restaurant is mundane and looks like a hole in the wall. Inside the restaurant is very clean and smells delicious! They only have Birria on the menu but they do it extremely well and I was ecstatic about the quality of my food. It was a cold and rainy afternoon. A perfect time for a steaming bowl of caldo rojo and two tacos la res, and a side of piping hot corn tortillas. Great food, a nice hometown cozy ambience, and welcome warmth from the storm. The soup was rich and delicious, not too spicy. The tacos are real street tacos, not the junk you get from Del Taco. Found this spot while in Oxnard that serves up some good Birria. We ordered the Birria tacos, Crunchwrap and Birria ramen burritos. All the food was delicious, but what surprised us was the Birria Ramen burrito. The burrito was huge and very tasty. They are all served with consome for dipping and a side of onions and cilantro. They also have a salsa bar. The restaurant was clean and bright with lots of seating. They have parking in the back. The service was great and pretty quick. Someone said the location is scary and parking difficult. I parked in the small lot right behind the place and it's right on Oxnard Blvd so it's a pretty busy area- not scary at all. That being said- this is one of the very few places that serves goat birria- and that is what makes it such a gem. It was just incredible- eyes rolling back in your head incredible- and I will return every chance I get. The guys who work there are really cool and helpful too. The one criticism I'd have is that the beans tasted like an afterthought- very bland. Other than that, 5 stars. read more

The best birria ramen in town in my opinion. Especially during this rainy season here in Cali, this replace provided the ultimate comfort food for my belly. I like to ask for additional cilantro for my ramen and for the price I don't think you can a better place anywhere else. They do sell out sometimes before their closing time so I would call before coming here if you live far away. The owner is very nice and friendly as well. After a long day of Dallas Cowboys training camp we decided that Birria tacos sounded great... while on the search we came across this place and decided to give it a go. Upon parking and seeing it it's small and divey but don't let that fool you, absolutely great Birria. They offer tacos and nachos and burritos, but don't expect any substitution other than asada, it's truly a Birria place. We ordered their Birria tacos and nachos, and a side of rice. I truly wanted to get a chicken taco for my little one but he did fine with the Birria, one thing I would have to suggest to then which I feel should be a staple is guacamole, I mean it's easy enough to have guacamole and they should definitely have this here and I believe it would sell well. Upon getting our food we absolutely loved the tacos, crispy and cheesy and the Birria and consume was great. The nachos were very good too topped with sauces and pico and cilantro, very good nachos. I'll have to try the burrito next time for sure. I can see why they have 5 stars and it's truly a Birria place, just feel they should offer guacamole and it would be a true star. My wife and I have been looking for good queso birria tacos for awhile. These are without a doubt the best we've ever had! My wife and mother in law are very particular about their Mexican food, being from Mexico, but even my wife couldn't believe how good these tacos were. The dipping juice was phenomenal, my wife ate it by itself after finishing her tacos. The beef was cooked perfectly, tender and juicy, Something that stood out was how clean they tasted, very little grease, even with the cheese. Lastly, service was amazing. The decor is anything but fancy, but the facility is absolutely spotless throughout, including the kitchen area. The service is extremely friendly, outgoing and efficient. The menu is extremely limited, but when it's this good that's not a negative. Most of it centers around birria beef tacos (shredded beef). They're served with a side of consommé (Mexico's version of a beef dip!) a couple of cucumber slices, a baggie of diced onion/cilantro and a baggie of lime wedges. Mild green or spicy red sauces are available on request. The corn tortillas are made onsite. Between the soft tacos and the quesa tacos (with melted cheese) I prefer the crispier quesa tacos because the tortilla is grilled to get the cheese to melt. They also have authentic goat birria soup, which is not gamey in the slightest. If you like soups, you should definitely give it a try. read more
