There were no prices posted anywhere. Only after ordering did I find out that a single, very small taco was $3.35. Usually, 3 tacos would fill me up for lunch but not if they are so small. You need 4-6 tacos to make a lunch. Otherwise, the place was ok. read more

I love this place, I go here often, and their service and food is great! The owners are always very friendly and attentive. They always make you feel welcomed! The restaurant is very clean which is a big plus for me! If you are looking for good menudo this is the place to get it, they serve it with hand made tortillas which are amazing. You can also order your tacos to be made with the hand made tortillas which are huge! And if you like spicy make sure you ask for a side of their habanero salsa it's spicy but delicious! My friend and I were on the hunt for some delicious Mexican food on new years day and were SO disappointed at how many restaurants were closed. But we found this strip mall with THREE Mexican restaurants to choose from. Which made it difficult to narrow down. So we decided to go for the one in the middle, which ended up being THN2. The restaurant had a few patrons and noticed a woman mopping the floor, which gave the restaurant a cleaning solution smell. When we got up to the register, we were greeted by an older man who smiled. The menu is located behind the register and kinda hard to miss. The one down side to the menu was that there weren't any prices listed. I ordered the three taco combo and choose chorizo, carnitas, and asada. The meats were pretty dried out and a bit salty. The rice and beans were 'meh' and the saddest part was that there was no salsa in the salsa bar. read more

Hands down! One of the best Carne Asada Tacos I ever had in my entire life! They use a yellow corn tortilla. There Carne Asada is juicy and you can taste the seasonings. When you bite into the Carne Asada is dripping juice all over your plate beans and rice. read more

This place is very close to me and it's right next to El taco de Mexico, so I thought I'd try it out. The place was clean the service was great however for nachos it's a bit pricy $10.24 and the meat seemed as though it had been reheated a few times and the tortilla chips seemed a bit stale. I was looking for Tacos La Costa, but the map on Yelp showed it on the West side of Saviers. I drove around for 15 minutes, then finally gave up and came to Taqueria Hernadez. With 3 other Mexican restaurants in the same strip mall, I had my choice, but one had an X in the name, one was mostly seafood and the third was another Tacos De Mexico so I walked into this one. I ordered the Carne Asada burrito. First, the nice teenage girl that took my order delivered fresh chips to the table with some great, chunky salsa in a styrofoam cup. The salsa was not too hot and it contained all sorts of stuff like cilantro and seeds and it was somewhat orange. When she delivered the burrito, it was wrapped in foil. It was a little smaller than some places, but it was more than enough for my 187 lbs. Before she left, she asked if I "like novelas?". I do so she left the TV on and I was treated to some incomprehensible soap opera drivle. On to the burrito... Most Carne Asada burritos that I get at places like Tacos De Mexico are heavy on the rice and the meat is copious, but dry. Not Taqueria Hernandez! The large flour tortilla looked to be handmade and it even had some charred edges here and there just like home! The meat inside was juicy and very flavorful. I barely noticed the rice. My only complaint is the ridiculous painting on the southern wall. It's a large piece, maybe 2' by 5'. It depicts an unlikely convergence of several rivers that dump into a lake in the foreground, each by way of their own waterfall. Impossible. Furthermore, there are some pine trees in the background that seem to be issuing forth their own waterfall. Also impossible. read more

When I want some good Tacos I come here. Try the small tacos.The meat is fresh and the tortilla has a great flavor. Very different taste than the others. The restaurant's name says "Taqueria", which means the make tacos. So far they live up to their name. I used to to go next door (TDM) to buy my Mexican food, but am glad I tried Taqueria Hernandez. The interior looks clean, and for me that is OK, i'm not here for fine dinning, so why be picky. Usually the owner is at the register and a cook in the back. The owner is a very friendly guy, usually watching the novelas on T.V. I have not tried anything else but Tacos, so my review is final. So far I feel ok to say that Taqueria Hernandez has the best tacos in Oxnard. read more

Very good menudo and tacos if you go in the morning when everything is fresh, some of the best tacos I've had in the 805. They could definitely improve on the waitressing and the technology they currently have which is basic. They're shouting numbers for every order they have like old times, which is somewhat annoying. Couldn't give this place a 5 star because I didn't order anything special. I asked for a potato and egg burrito, it came with no potato. They did not bother to let me know, found out until I was eating it. The burrito did it's job, take my hunger away, that's all. They have a salsa bar with lemon, 1 kind of salsa and jalapeño rajas (not sure if I should call it a bar) the salsa was okay but way too watery. The older gentlemen was friendly at first, when it came time to pay he was kinda rude, not sure if he got upset in the kitchen. Place is roomy and peaceful. I'm not sure why this place has gotten bad reviews, but they do all seem to be quite old. I have been eating at Taqueria Hernandez regularly for months now, and it is some of my favorite Mexican food. The rice is sensational, i've never had rice like theirs. The meat is fantastic, fresh, and juicy. Carnitas tacos are fabulous. The burrito mojado is also very tasty, along with the chile verde (which has an intense heat). But to this day, my go to dish here is the Chimichanga with Asada, they put crema, a very unique guacamole sauce, and a chilled salsa that is extremely mild on top of the massive deep fried burrito. If you are anything like me, you will order a cup of the salsa habanera. It is to die for spicy, but it has a flavor. Most salsas cannot accomplish this. All in all, this place is deffinitely worth a drive out, no matter where you are. Keep in mind that the owners and employees here are some of the nicest and most generous people you will ever meet in a restaurant! read more
