Don't believe the hype. Do NOT eat here!!! Less than marginal food, drinks, and service. I think that the hype is actually the downfall of this eatery. They have to serve a neverending line of people, so they have to get you in and out quickly. First, the place is tiny and cramped. Food is served on paper plates, and you eat with disposable flatware. I'm sorry, but if I'm going to pay this much for breakfast, then I want a real plate, fork, and knife! I also want to be able to savor my meal and not feel rushed. The biggest downside is that the quality of the food is not that great. My omelet was served to me cold and runny on the inside. I had to fill my own Dixie cup with room temp water from a little service cart down the hall. The free, continental breakfast offered at our hotel would have been a much better choice! The only upside was the service of a couple of staff members. Highlight of my whole experience was the busboy, who was singing along to the piped in music with gusto (The Commodores...Brick House). They need to hire more people like the him...totally laid back, helpful, and nice! read more

This spot has been around for a long time. Nice atmosphere and view. But you will feel rushed to finish your food by the stares from the servers since there's always a huge line and it's not a large eatery. Good spot to go as a tourist. read more

Dismal. Hugely overrated (judging by the lineup) and supremely mediocre. Canadian bacon and eggs consists of 4 circles of some unidentifiable sausage and 2 eggs. That's it. Not even any garnish. The side pancakes are tasteless and for God's sake don't get the whipped cream, it's the fake stuff and about as fresh as Tutankhamen. You're better off with some kind of wrap from a convenience store or Starbucks. read more

I love this place! Prices are reasonable, nice staff, good food! However, the line is ridiculous sometimes... I can't wait to visit again my next trip to Hawaii! read more

This is as good as it gets. The food is great and the service is amazing! My family and I ordered the Loco Moco, Sausage and eggs combo, Macademia nut pancakes and an omelette. The portions were a perfect size for the early to share. The lines are quite long on regular meal hours, so come on time! read more

You wait in about 3 different lines to get horrible service and average food. One line to order, one to pay, and one to wait for a table. I even got told I was standing too far past "the line" to wait for a table (even though I was reading the newspaper article that was hanging on the wall). You don't get your $5 iced tea ( in a Togo cup ) until your food comes, so you're sitting at your table just waiting. They give you a buzzer you have to hold up in the air when your food is ready so they know where you are sitting. When your food does come, it's all on paper plates (which would be fine if it wasn't $50 for 3 of us). No one came by to offer refills on drinks and the food itself was nothing special. Don't know what they hype is all about...won't be going back and won't recommend this to anyone. Should have gone to mcdonalds next door. I get that the owners are trying to come up with an innovative concept, but it just ended up being super inefficient and a horrible experience. read more

We're from Arizona Visiting this is the best breakfast place to eat very nice staff and fast service.

Food was good. And it's only because of this I would think of coming again. What I found strange was the serving of all food in environmentally safe cups, environmentally safe plates, and environmentally safe plastic utensils. The thought was there, but if you're really going to try and be environmentally safe, why not use real utensils, real cups, and real plates. Then wash and reuse them instead of having a heap of trash at the end of the day? read more

There is something so disappointing about crappy seafood when you can SEE the ocean. I like the system they have worked out- check out the menu on the stairs, place your order at the top, head inside to pay and then be seated. I got the eggs Benedict over crab cakes. Now I lived in MD for 3 yrs and I know that the majority of the time I am going to be disappointed by crab cakes, the bar has just been set too high. But what I got was not really acceptable. On what seemed like hamburger bun halves lay two imitation 'crab cakes', emphasis on the cake part. Something I would expect to get at walmart in MONW Kansas. I should have gone w the traditional Benedict. Not something I'd expect for $14 at Waikiki Beach. The eggs were done to order, the only saving grace. Service wasn't bad but my shot glass of water was empty more than I'd have like. I might give them a second try before I leave. The pancakes seem to come w a mountain of whipped cream. Tempting and no seafood to disappoint. read more

One bad hostess ruins the whole experience. My family ate here today. The person taking our order, the cashier, and all the servers were all polite and nice. Unfortunately, the hostess was very rude and aggressive, which ruined the whole dining experience. At this restaurant you order while in line, and then there are two lines; one for paying and one for tables. The person taking our order then told us (and those behind us) to have one person get in the line on the left to pay, and the rest of the party to get in the right line (the line waiting for a table). We followed his directions, and there was a couple in front of me in the line to pay. Soon the hostess came over, and told my wife and son to get back, they were supposed to be in the line with me (the to-pay line). We didn't mind doing so, but offered the explanation that we were just following the instructions given us by the person taking our order. At this point the hostess became very rude and aggressive, saying the people in front of me in the pay line were here before us (which was true, but we weren't trying to squeeze in front of them in the line), and that my family had to get back and out (which was difficult, given their were people behind them). At that point the people behind us chimed in and said they were given the same instructions. None of us were trying to squeeze in front of anyone in line, and the hostess could simply have politely asked us to try to make room for the couple in front of us in the pay line (when they finished paying). There was no need for her to be rude and hostile, when we were simply following the directions we were given. This ruined the whole dining experience, and we won't be going back again. By far the worst dining experience we've had in Waikiki. read more

Really good food. However if you are starving this is not the place for you. You have to wait in line for about 20-30 minutrs before you order. The set up is a bit weird. You order and pay at the door and then are seated. read more

We needed a place to eat breakfast at 6 am-ish since we were still on CA time and my kids were hungry. This was the closest place in walking distance to our hotel that seemed to offer American breakfasts, so decided to chance it even though the reviews and ratings weren't the best. We're so glad we did. There wasn't much of a wait, but i could see how later in the day it could back up. We sat right down at a table after ordering and paying. I got the special of sweet bread french toast with bananas, whipped cream, and macadamia nuts. I topped it with the coconut syrup that was on the table and it was DIVINE! Hubs had an omlette, which he ate without comment, so it must have been good.. Kids had pancakes, eggs, toast. The kids' eggs were a bit rubbery and dry. Orange juice was fresh squeezed, so good! Breakfast here hit the spot and was definitely better than what we would have eaten at our hotel buffet. read more

Not good. I ordered the corned beef hash and it was completely disgusting. Expensive too. Tourist trap. Never again.

Odd. We paid for the coffee, but didn't get cups. Had to ask for them, and then pour it ourselves. Paper plates, Promise butter in tiny plastic packages for my pancakes, unripe fruit, eggo waffles, long wait. read more

Food quality is good. They are efficient when it comes to ordering while in the line. Expect to wait, but the line moved nicely. Prices are good when considering the location. Excellent coffee and friendly staff. read more

Great Hawaiian style Loco Moco! The special was mango waffles with whipped cream - delicious!

Don't let the line out the door deceive you, I was completely underwhelmed by this place. I ordered the crab cake Benedict, which was the worst Benedict I've ever ordered. I ate off the egg and left the crab cake and bread. The crab cake seemed like a pre-made frozen patty that was warmed up in the microwave. Really gross and Luke warm. You have to pay up front, which means tip too. The staff was not the worst, but not great at all either. My husband asked for a soda since the coffee was bad and burnt tasting. We were told we would have to pay for the soda, even though we would not be drinking the coffee at all. We only ate 1/3 of our meal, which was again, disappointing. Save your money and go to Duke's down the street. read more

Everything about this place sucks, it's a tourist trap in the worst way. The line out side is not because it good , but instead they take forever to serve you, with plastic forks and paper plates. read more

totally NOT worth of the wait and money you pay for. This place is for people who do not normally eat pancakes or waffles for breakfast, therefore, they would have no idea what a real pancake and waffles are like. I regret waiting for 80 minutes and paid 50 bucks for the 4 of us. Trust me, you get your time and money spent elsewhere for a much better value. read more

been to the islands many times before and there is ALWAYS a long line out the door at these EnT places. on our last morning in waikiki, we decided to check 'em out. we stood in line for what seemed to be 30 mins. we studied the menu before giving our order to the order taker. no substitutions, no sides of fried rice so i ended up ordering island fried rice with eggs and side of portugese sausage. we paid for our order (short line), and then waited in the 'to be seated' line (moved quickly). our order was up in 10-15 mins after sitting at our table. the food was decent, my fried rice was a tad bit on the salty side, but great flavor (kamaboko, bacon, sausage, chinese broccoli, carrots, ham; a meal in itself). it's great to see a business take the 'green' initiative by using paper plates, compostable utensils, drinking cups made from corn...but is it really being 'green' if the recyclables are not separated out in the trash? the 'wait staff' were nice, pleasant and helpful, so don't forget to stuff the tip jar when paying for your meal! read more

Waited an hour for what? To pay $15 for a OJ, small servings of eggs, potatoes and sausage. Nothing special, keep walking this place is horrible! Want pancakes as well? Look to spend $30! Paper plates & plastic forks?! Really? Hawaii tourist trap. read more

Had breakfast here yesterday. The Hawaiian Locomoco is amazing and should not be missed. If it's a nice day, try to sit outside. They filled up there dining room and asked if we wanted to sit outside and it was a happy accident read more

Eggs and things was good, but it was overrated and overpriced. The French toast special was awesome with LOTS of whipped cream! It was overall good but the wait was much too long and everything else was okay.. The coconut pancakes were just covered in coconut the pancakes were plain :/ and they charge extra for the coconut pancakes... read more

I wanted to rate this place so much higher, I really did, but the facility and the quality of food service cannot be excused. $14 a plate to be served on paper plates and plastic cups? With packets of soy sauce instead of a bottle? This is a restaurant, not a taco truck. And don't get me started on how you are seated/pay, it's just 100% amateur. I expected much more, and it's very disappointing to say that I would actively steer anyone I knew away from this location. Especially next to its sister restaurants, which are amazing. Two stars on the strength of the food alone. Go to one of the other Eggs n Things, avoid this one like the plague read more

Love the coconut pancakes and my wife enjoyed her Eggs Benedict. Definitely recommend

Good breakfast! The service was not that great when we were checked in. There was a line already at 6:30AM. I could not believe it but then quickly realized that most tourist are probably still on their home time zone. Once seated the service was great and friendly. The Portuguese sausage was really good. read more

Came by dinner time to eat breakfast, to check out what the hype is all about. No need for me to describe the process as others have done so. I didn't have a problem with that, it just made things efficient. Staff were super friendly, talk about aloha spirit. But unfortunately my omelet special and regular pancakes were not that special. Omelet seemed runny and pancakes not hot. Coconut syrup was good. View was great. Would I go back? No. Sorry. read more

The way they do the lines for ordering, paying, and seating all separate is rather strange but it probably works during the busy times? It was a bit strange that you pay before you eat and are supposed to tip at that time. We did so and ended up with very poor service. The food was not so great. We ordered the Hawaiian style loco moco, blueberry waffle with whipped cream, ham and cheese omelet, and an acai bowl. The omelet seemed fine, my husband ate it all. The blueberry waffle was nothing special except the blueberries were some of the most pathetic I had seen in a long time and the tower of whipped cream was quite astonishing (although not real whipped cream more like cool whip?). The loco moco was not terribly good either, it just tasted overwhelmingly of onions and mushy rice. The acai bowl was okay but again just not quite right, it had too much sugar and just was sub par compared to some others we have had. The entire meal was a disappointment when we paid over $60 for it. It does have a beautiful ocean view though! read more

This place opens at 6:00 AM, and there was a line for both days that I went a little before 6. I've eaten at the Piikoi restaurant, but not the one in Waikiki. I had the Hawaiian Acai bowl one day and the strawberry Belgian Waffles the next day. The Acai bowl was good, but I think the Piikoi one was better. I love Belgian Waffles, but this one was soggy and the strawberries were NOT fresh sliced (like the picture they show on the menu). The coconut syrup was what saved the waffles. I've tried their thin waffle at the Piikoi location, and would rather have eaten that. But had to try the Belgian Waffles here. The service was super fast, staff was very nice and they kept topping off the coffee every chance they got. It's right on Kalakaua Ave, so right across the beach, so nice view of the ocean. Being from Hawaii, I think I'll stick to the one in Piikoi, but like this one, you have to get there early or be prepared to wait in a line. read more

My husband decided to eat here for breakfast, everytime we pass by the line is long, so thinking its going to be good. So you order & pay before you get to sit down. Service was okay our drink orders kept going to the other couple next to us. I got the rib eye & eggs, which the rib eye has no flavor. Wish we ate breakfast somewhere else. read more

No way, Dude. Not even worth it. The wait is ridiculous for sub par food. It's a very curious process to get into the actual restaurant. No one greets you in line, you must know what you want to order prior to sitting down at your table... if you can get that far. You pay prior to eating. I had somewhere to be, so I opted to do carry-out, which costs an additional .75. Nah, no thanks. What a waste of a meal in paradise. read more

Had the Hawaiian fried rice and eggs. Delicious! Their local food is delicious and authentic! A+!!!

This place is a must try! Me and a friend came here because of the reviews on Yelp when we visited Hawaii and the macadamian pancakes are so good. They are so fluffy and soft and the coconut syrup was just perfect with it. The omelettes were also so good. It was so cheesy and delicious! I took one star off because I hated the long line ups and crowded interior. But the food is amazing! read more

Don't know where to start but everything about this place is wrong. From the weird ordering system out front before you sit down, having to then move to another person to confirm the order and pay, asking for tip before you are served, kids size cups of water, and a wait staff that doesn't care because tips are made before they serve you. I had to argue that I ordered extra butter before they would give it to me without charging extra. You can't fix stupid...avoid this place. read more

Ridiculously long lines, horrible seating, food not worth the money. AND paper plates. AVOID AT ALL COST.

Waiting is simply not worth it over 20 minutes, but the system is faster and the food is not too bad. Eggs were good and turkey bacon was plentiful, however the pancakes were not fantastic. Good amount of food but most of it is. Just way too expensive. The sets seem like a joke. $30 for breakfast? read more

Only has business because they are on the beach. Tofu scramble is a joke with raw pieces of tofu. Potatoes have mixed flavor from other things they make in the same area. Eggs aren't anything special. Presentation is awful, all plastic. read more

We have eaten in countless establishments over the course of several visits to Waikiki. Without a doubt most disappointing and offensive. Where to begin. The long line is just the start. only a handful of decent seats. worst case you end up along the wall by the coffee machine with barely enough room for you plate. No air movement either in that part. Oh and about the plates , they are paper plates with plastic forks. we each ordered an omelette it looked like a yellow quesadilla, tasted worse than dehydrated backpacking food. We ordered a strawberry waffle too, 14 BUCKS!! Strawberries were of the frozen variety the waffle crust itself was as thin as cardboard. Then they pile it with whip cream so much that it covers up the terrible taste of the crappy waffle. avoid the place at cost!! worst dining experience I have had in 10 years anywhere, let alone Honolulu. read more

Wanted a laid back, Father's Day breakfast on our first day of vacation and this hit the spot. Line initially seemed long but it moved fast. The guys at the front were friendly and I felt like a member of their ohana. Wished me a Happy Father's Day! Had their island fried rice and eggs... very ono and awesome grinds. The other reviews that are negative must've been too pretentious for this place... that's what the restaurant in the Hilton or Marriott are for. Come here and chill with da ohana.
