Honestly, I don't get why there's a HUGE line that forms outside the restaurant every morning for breakfast. While their system of getting people in and out is efficient, we still had to wait around 35 min to get a seat. Portions are quite small for a breakfast place and the food is very average. The pancakes were absolutely amazing. I ordered macadamia nuts in mine so they were a crunchy fluffy texture. I did not expect that it would be as good as it was. It was a busy restaurant, I probably stood outside in line for about 20 minutes before I got seated. I got the pancakes, Hawaiian Loco Moco, and the acai bowl. All of the food took about 30 minutes to arrive after ordering, so it was almost an entire hour before I finally got to eat. The acai bowl wasn't that great, there were coconut shavings and banana slices but that was it. You can definitely get some better and fancier acai bowls around the island with much better variety of toppings. The loco moco was your standard loco moco and the sauce was pretty salty (saltier than I would expect from a loco moco), but it was a good, filling meal nonetheless. The pancakes were also pretty average as well, but they were large-portioned so I got those to-go. I wanted to try Eggs n Things because I saw all the ads, but don't feel pressured to check it out, or feel like you're missing out if you don't eat here. Food was poor at best. The only good thing was coconut syrup which didn't come from the kitchen. Very overpriced the NY Strip was a quarter in thick and had no flavor. Eggs were terrible with both dishes. Nearly 20.00 per meal and you are served on paper plates and cut your steak with plastic ware. read more

So you wait in this line and order before you get in, but apparently it cuts down on the wait time inside the restaurant. Paid first so we could just leave after we finished...so they said. Ate here the last day of our vacay out of strong recommendations from family and friends here. Apparently theres three but this one was right next to the hotel we were at. Food was fantsastic! Had the Hawaiian Style Loco Moco. Its like the other "crazy buggers" (espanol) but they do it with sausage mushrooms and onions. So simple yet so delicious! My girl had the veggie omelet with the chocolate chip pancakes, and we order the special crepe of the day to share. (All we did on vacation was eat lol) Before I start with the pancakes lets take a moment of silence to pay respect to that coconut syrup I destroyed. We pretty much used the entire container on the table. It was so damn good I had to buy some at their retail area to take home. By some I mean three bottles....anyway back to the pancakes. Best I've ever had and that's just based on the one I managed to steal from the Wifey. Light fluffy heavenly! Service was great too. Kinda weird you order and pay first, but they told us it would get us to the food quicker, but none the less our coffees were never empty and water always filled. First time eating here. Walked by many times, always a long line. We finally decided to try it, we very seldom eat breakfast at all. We had the combo with the pineapple pancakes topped with a large amount of homemade whipped cream topped with macadamia nuts and Hawaiian Loco Moco. Also included 2 beverages. $28.! Line seemed to move along pretty quickly. We ordered at the door then paid and got seated. The food runner, wearing gloves walked around carrying lots of plates with his hands/arms delivering food to tables. I'm a food server and I have never seen anyone carry plates w towers of whipped on them all at once with no tray! Wow! What a talent lol! Anyways the service was awesome as was the food. We recently stayed in Waikiki for a week and kept walking by Eggs 'n things and there was always a huge line. One night we decided to go for dinner, like some of the other reviewers have notes, you have to wait in line and order. How were we supposed to know that? So we get up to the front of the line and are expected to order and we didn't know you were supposed to look at a menu and know what you want when you get up there. Then, because there were six of us, a guy who worked there implied to my husband that he could seat a large party (for a tip). What is this, Vegas??? Anyway, we order our food in line. Then I have to go in and pay at the counter. THEN, we are seated. The food itself was very good. But i'm not sure I'd go back because of the experience as a whole. So at this location your whole party must be at the front and you must Order before seating. Anyway we inquired about that and let a party that had all their guest go in front which was only us 2 at the time. The Eggs & Things on Kalakaua Ave has the worst service and not a place to go if you want to enjoy your vacation. You have to wait in a long line and must order and pay when you are in line! Worst service I have ever had! Waited at least 10 minutes and had to ask if we had been assigned a server before anyone even thought about acknowledging our presence. We ordered, and asked for hot syrup for the pancakes... server had to ask for a manager, who in turn informed us that they could not warm up syrup because they do not have a microwave. It gets better, my food comes out and my wife's food is nowhere to be seen... first rule of serving food in a restaurant is the food for entire table arrives at the same time, unbelievable!!! Waited another ten minutes for my wife's food to be served!!! When we asked how much longer it would be we heard the manager tell the server that omelettes take longer... not a reasonable excuse... just tell me you forgot to make it and we can move on! My wife's $16 omelette arrives and it was less than appealing, bacon in the omelette was half cooked! Not once did anyone ask us how anything was, big shocker!!! Once we finished eating it was another ten minutes until I had to ask for the check because, again, no one cared to ask about anything!!! Did I mention the place was near empty!!! Advice to the owner, fire or demote the evening manager and retrain the staff, they all have a lot to learn about the restaurant business!!! read more

This "express" location in Waikiki isn't my favorite dining experience. First, you stand in line with no way of knowing how long that might take. You get to what you think is the host, but it is really where you place your order. If you waited awhile and didn't realize you were waiting to order, then you are suddenly scrambling to read the menu and make a decision. Then you are given a number and go inside in pay before getting a meal or service. I find this super awkward for a "sit-down" restaurant. What am I supposed to tip? What if I want to order more? Next you will stand and wait to be seated in the next available table. Once seated, the food was quick, but nothing special. My daily special omlet was more like a thin egg pancake with ingredients underneath it, but not mixed in like an omlet is usually made. Decided to grab a bite after watching the sunrise & the waves crash into the Kaphulu groin. Perfect morning & as Lulu's didn't open till 7, I decided to ruin it by coming here. Stood in the inevitable tourist line & orderedr a Loco moco in honor of my buddy who always orders a moco as if they can't make a decent moco, then probably not anything else. Asked if I could pay extra for fried rice and told that this is impossible as fried rice is only made to order by itself. Was going to explain I didn't care what the cost, but didn't feel like arguing w/ an idiot first thing in the morning. Only saving grace was there was seating outside so I didn't have to sit in the sweltering dining room area and I could have homeless guys stare at me for company as I ate my breakfast. Loco was heaped in a medium sized bowl so there was no chance of mixing the moco w/o it falling out. Patty had minimal flavor, gravy was barely passable and " only one egg" (Marcus); highly disappointing. On the brighter side, as I walked away, my day could only get better. read more

Like many others, the long lines drew my husband and me to this place for breakfast. The set up was different-- lining up to order then sitting-- but not a problem. The problem came up later. We each had eggs and sausage-- one with pancakes the other with potatoes-- and orange juice. Two breakfast meals for almost $40 is absolutely ridiculous. Not only was it over priced, but the service was awful, there was little air circulation, and we ate on paper plates and with plastic utensils. Oh, and forget getting a refill on your orange juice that is poured from a gallon jug... For $40, I would expect MUCH better. The only good thing to say is that the food was good. Overrated :-( You would think this was a great place because of the long line out the door. Was weary to come here because of the poor yelp rating, but hub's coworker suggested it so tried it once. You will wait in several lines. The first one is to order, next one is to pay (which of course is the fastest line), last one is to wait for a table. The food was blah. I ordered the porkchop which weirdly tasted like ham with pineapple that was covered in this brown sugar glaze. I would have ordered ham if I wanted ham. Nothing tasted fresh at all. The pancakes were just ordinary. I do have to say the workers are very efficient at their jobs, but didn't notice any friendliness. There are better places out there. read more

In addition, there were numerous customers, before and after us, that went and seated themselves prior to paying. As for the food, I ordered my eggs over easy and they came out well done. Customer service was spot on but I cannot even believe the kitchen. I had ordered two keiki menu items for my TWO YEAR OLD AND my best friends THREE YEAR OLD to go .I ordered the kids Loco Moco and kids chicken cutlet. The wait for the food was about 20-30 minutes and I guess I came by close to closing because by the time I had got my food they had started to close up shop. We walked about less than 1/2 a block to our hotel room before opening up the plate. At first glance ,they proportions were insanely small and not worth the price what so ever but the food looked good . I started to cut the hamburger on the Loco Moco and I noticed the patty was RAW ! Literally , it had only been browned very lightly. The brown part was as thick as the height of 2 quarters. Not only that I decided I would try it(I assumed the kitchen Knew what they were doing and maybe it was standard to make the burgers medium,even though ours was rare)and the hamburger tasted like raw old meat. Like it had been in the fridge for a week and was about to spoil. It gets better. I open the chicken cutlet and tried to see if my son would eat chicken and rice since he's super picky.i had taken a bite and let my friends little girl try a couple bites too from the a piece I cut from the edge . Then I decided to cut the chicken into small cubes for the little ones and I began to notice when i got towards the center I noticed that the chicken was RAW!! You couldn't tell at first because it was just barely pink and then covered in dark brown gravy and mushrooms but nonetheless the chicken was pink. I PRAY to God, I don't get sick from this on top of that I pray that my son and my best friends 3 yr old doesn't get sick because it would be on me .I cannot believe that this place would even send food that was Raw like this out for customers especially being that it was a KIDS MENU ITEM and that they took half an hour to serve us undercooked hamburger and chicken !A word of advice ,skip this joint...ESPECIALLY if you have children! It's a very long line to wait to be seated and the place is little small . Prices are ok. Food is pretty good and their coconut syrup and coffee are amazing. Portions are decent.
