Came here with my friend for brunch the other day. I ordered the crab Benedict which looked amazing when it came out. I was disappointed that it was just a few pieces of crab meat in the Benedict instead of a crab cake. The mimosa I got was pretty good. Overall I thought my meal was mediocre compared to the other beach brunch spots. I wasn't too impressed. I also was annoyed the waiter was trying to rush us to finish but I get it it's a small restaurant where tons of people are waiting. He could have said something to the fact but just simply placed the bill in front of us and tried to take my friends plate away before she could scrape her leftovers into the box. This wasn't our favorite spot. After an 80 minute ferry ride we decided to explore the downtown Lewes area. There are a lot of quaint shops a few restaurants and overall a cool vibe. The restaurant had only a small wait time. This is why we chose it. We also were dining outdoors. We brought our dog with us so we had limited options. They have a very limited menu but we were able to find some brunch options. You can also order breakfast or lunch. The food felt very generic. The portion sizes were good however the flavors and taste just weren't there neither was the temperature everything was served Luke warm to cold. One of us ordered the bananas Foster French toast which was covered in a creamy sauce is very buttery Overall it was just OK underwhelming it could've definitely use the less of the sauce. The other one ordered the grilled chicken Greek sandwich. It had wilted spinach black olives fresh from a can and overall a chicken breast butterflied opened, dry and unflavored. The spinach made the bun wet that wasn't the biggest turn off nothing worse than soggy bread. Interestingly enough the table adjacent to us was commenting on their breakfast and they only ordered eggs and toast and they also said it was underwhelming. Fairly interesting since it was only eggs. I probably won't revisit the spot. 43.00 all in with gratuity it's what's expected in a small resort town, fairly on par with competitors . read more

My boyfriend and I stayed in Lewes Delaware a few weeks ago on vacation. We chose to stop at eggcellent because the reviews were really promising. They had limited inside seating, but a decent amount of outdoor seating. We ordered the morning margaritas which were really great. The orange juice in the drink tasted really fresh, and I love a salted rim. We then ordered the crab Benedict and the breakfast burrito. The crab Benedict had very fresh crab on top, but I would say it wasn't very flavorful overall. The breakfast burrito had a ton of avocado on it, and the potatoes it came with were decent, but the burrito was kind of bland. I don't believe there were any sauces on it (just egg, cheese, bacon, and avocado) so it was kind of dry. Overall the food was decent and the ambiance was cute. read more

Looked like it could have been good food but I wouldn't know because I left after sitting down and talking to the waiter. They don't like substitutes. I don't like tomatoes. So in order to swap it out with another vegetable I do like I'd have to pay $1.50 extra. Seemed kind of ridiculous with the prices you're already paying there. I just love this place! I ordered french toast, bacon & eggs with home fries, and it was delicious. I never had granola on my french toast before, and my eggs were made right, sunny side up! Really enjoyed our time here! It is a smaller space so I get the comments about going with smaller parties, however, we had a party of 6 which included two children. The staff was VERY accommodating and so helpful. This is a hidden gem, tucked a bit off the path but so happy we found it. The food was great, and everything seemed fresh but by far, the staff and attentiveness is what really won me over. So happy to have found this spot - we will be back! read more

The café con leche is amazing with their whipped cream, which has a similar texture to ice cream. This place is tucked away in Lewes, Waze app directed me about a couple blocks away. Just know there IS a small parking lot right next to the restaurant if you can find it lol. The walk isn't bad either way plus you get to see other shops Lewes has to offer. Ample seating both inside and out wasn't a lot of ppl but then again it was like a Weds morning. I sat on the patio, got a little breezy and they had some heaters that helped a lot. The food is more like diner grade food. Nothing super fancy but it did satisfy my brunch hunger. That French toast is a must try. I'm particular about my potatoes and theirs was kind of ehh. I'm noticing many 5 star reviews and "best breakfast in Lewes" sadly they must not have had a good breakfast/brunch to really know. The food is honestly mediocre. I longed for a break from the winter doldrums of dreary Baltimore, so I took a solo road trip to Rehoboth. Yelp helped a brother out with a tip to check out Eggcellent, located in Lewes, DE, a quaint town not far from Rehoboth. The name of this place tells you all you want to know. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was certainly worth writing home about. I had the avocado toast, which was not your typical green-slathered bread - chickpeas, eggs, pico de gallo and an order of smoke salmon finished it off. Not only did I devour that, I had the Eggcellent omelette and a side of fries. Pure greed! My only complaint is that I was too full to try another of the other dishes. read more

My friend and I were originally going to just get omelettes but we keep seeing this incredible French toast being served. So, we ordered the New Yorker omelette and the summer berry French toast and split the platters. I'm glad we did! One of my new favorite breakfast places! Amazing: French toast, fresh squeezed orange juice (best I've ever had), bacon, and fruit bowl (very fresh, good variety, large in size). The crab soup is also wonderful. It is fresh but not too heavy with cream or overpowering. The french fries are crispy. Unfortunately, we did not love the two lunch options we've had. The steak quesadilla and cheesesteak wrap were both bland, under seasoned, and just average. I'm from Philadelphia, tomatoes and lettuce do not belong in a cheesesteak but maybe that's personal opinion. Despite lunch, I will definitely be back for breakfast and highly recommend you try it.
