Third choice as we wanted Eggcellent, but, they were closed for employee appreciation day. Went across the street to Olive and Oats but that was very limited coffee and sandwich shop. Spouse saw this one on line and it was closer ( very close actually) than going to Rehoboth or Dewey. Sat immediately comfortable and next to the window. I must say it was more than I could have hoped for. Touristy yet cozy ambiance. Service was fast and coffee was refilled almost immediately, Eggs Benedict for me of course with a sausage side and Tea The Tea was really really good. I had the Honey tea pot, they had several choices I can't remember them. Just use caution with the pot mine was metal and the handle got really hot. The spouse had Chesapeake Benedict with Latkas. She said it was excellent and the Latakia was huge. She had to bring most of the Latakia and crab home. It was very busy but the staff kept up. $ 59 plus tip for Breakfast , but you in a tourist town and this was close to downtown. I was satisfied with the meal and fantastic service, but one expensive breakfast per trip is enough.

Roasted red pepper omelette
Holly R.

We found this restaurant using Yelp (so thanks yelpers!) walked right in to be seated on a Tuesday morning around 11ish. A large menu with lots of choices but knew I had to try the Latka and wanted an omelette so went with the roasted red pepper. The food came out quick and was hot and incredibly delicious. I also tried the fresh squeezed orange juice and it was amazing. If I was in town longer I would be going back for a second breakfast for sure. A cute vibe and worth stopping in.

Eggs Benedict over latka with cheese, red pepper, mushroom, and spinach. Yum!

You really ought check out Honey's whilst in the Lewes, Delaware environs. I'm pretty sure that their hours are 7AM until 3PM daily. We visited again on New Year's Eve which was a Tuesday at 12 noon. They were busy, yet we were seated immediately upon checking in and our order was taken within 5 minutes. Our waitress was attentive, but 2 other servers still checked on us and asked whither we needed coffee or anything. I had Eggs Benedict served on a bed of Latka with mushrooms, red pepper, cheese, and spinach which was absolutely delicious. My wife got 2 eggs, toast, and latka. I didn't mention that we were served within 15 minuof our order having been taken. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean, and someone whom I've seen here on several occasions in the past, likely a co-owner, recognized me and said it was good to see us again. This is a place to come for a filling breakfast or lunch during the aforementioned hours where you don't say to yourself "My God, What have I done?" such as with a fast food establishment. We both had coffee which was freshly brewed. Our total came to $50, however I'm willing to pay for value, particularly if I won't be hungry again for many hours! I believe they have another location not too far , but can't comment on it. Try it ou!

Walking into this place was very exciting. The restaurant itself is super cute and I think I was expecting way more. When we walked in the hostess was friendly, greeted us and sat us. The waitress on the other hand was definitely not as friendly. It felt really awkward sitting there and she didn't give us the warm feeling that she wanted to even be serving us. If you like any other type of creamer, besides half-and-half, bring your own. The food was way too much, but wasn't the wow factor taste wise. We definitely will not be back, but it's always fun to try new places.

Loved the potato latkes that came with Eggs Benedict and Omelettes! We come here for breakfast every time we are in town. They are consistently good!

Blueberry French toast

What a great last minute find during our one day trip to the beach. We weren't sure what type of food we wanted, so our orders were perfect. The blueberry French toast was on spot. It wasn't too sweet, and the bread was so good. The Honey 's pressed sandwich had lots of flavor and splitting the two dishes was a perfect way to start our day. Savory and sweet with a cup of hot coffee. Couldn't have asked for a better combo. Would definitely go back.

Get in early for this popular breakfast/brunch spot. Plenty of street parking available. The Bloody Mary was overly salty and boozy. The latke was a different version that I'm used to and could use a bit more seasoning. It had a cheesy inside and was hoping for a bit more, the home fries are way better since they are red potatoes. The Spanish omelet was tasty and as expected, no need for additional seating or sauce. Very filling.

Great service. Quick for the food to come out when we ordered, drink did take a little while. I don't love my mimosa but the service was good on water refills. Booths will stick to your legs but were fun.

My delicious crab omelette- huge.
Renee I.

I was drawn to this place because I saw they had a crab omelette so didn't need to even look at menu. My omelette was VERY large. Easily could split it and have plenty. Fruit cup on the side was an up charge of 3 but at least the it was good variety of fruit. My husband got the latka for his side and we were surprised how large it was: ~2" high. The latka had some good crispy edges but also was too heavy on the oregano or sage or some other spice. Service was okay. She didn't volunteer any information but only answered direct questions. Another reason for my 4 stars -they don't serve tea, only regular coffee. Very unusual for a popular breakfast place.

When our party arrived, we sat in a place that would be good with the dogs, because their was another dog near the entrance. My friend had asked for a high chair and the high chair arrived beyond disgusting. We were all grossed out by the state of the high chair and our table - no one wiped it clean or did anything. I helped and cleaned it for my friend and the picture that I posted is after the fact it's been wiped. Please imagine how bad it was before I wiped it with 4 sanitizing wipes. The waitress, Becky came over and asked if we're ready to order, meanwhile she saw our entire party wiping the tables and high chair and never once offered to clean it. She didn't even understand that we haven't looked at the menu because we're too busy doing the restaurant's job to offer a clean environment to eat and dine. She seemed annoyed that we weren't ready and left and turns out the other dog was her daughter's and they were there hanging out. She, of course seemed more cheerful there, then she was with our party that just sat. We haven't done anything to annoy her besides just arriving. The restaurant did provide water bowls for the dogs, but no one really seemed to be happy to see dogs being there, so not sure why this place would be a great place to take dogs. I just really thought all the staff here would all love dogs. I didn't taste the smashburger, but it was flagged that it wasn't a true smashburger, since there wasn't any crispiness or thinness. It was just a regular burger. I got the mussels daily flavour that was "Thai" - decent, but a lot of the mussels came closed and not sure why it would be "Thai" when they used jalapenos as their heat. Shrimp Basket - not great. Very disappointing experience - wished I didn't pick this place and wasted a meal here for the sake of wanting to bring my dogs to a place where I thought would be a great place for them.

Steak and Cake Special with a Canal View…read more Tried Harbor in Lewes, Delaware, located right along the canal in the downtown district, and it definitely leans toward the upscale side of dining in town. As soon as you walk in, you can feel that polished, higher end atmosphere, and the canal views make for a really nice setting. I went during the off season in early March and caught their Wednesday night Steak and Cake special. For $36 you get a six ounce filet mignon, a crab cake, mashed potatoes, green beans, and a Caesar salad. For a restaurant of this caliber, that's a pretty solid deal. The Caesar salad came out fresh and crisp, and for the first time ever I noticed something you rarely see anymore -- two small sardine strips on top, which is actually the traditional way to serve a true Caesar. The entree was nicely plated. The filet was ordered medium. Parts of it were cooked perfectly and very tender, though a couple bites were a little chewy. The crab cake was the highlight. Very meaty with minimal filler, which is exactly what you want this close to the Delaware coast. Mashed potatoes had that homemade style with a few lumps. Some people love that rustic feel, though I personally prefer them a little smoother. The green beans were simply steamed but had great flavor. Service was excellent. My waitress Kim was friendly, attentive, and very accommodating. The restaurant itself was clean and well kept, including the restrooms. Overall, a very enjoyable meal with great flavor across the board. I'd definitely come back and would be curious to see what the atmosphere is like here during the busy summer season.

For dinner, we had a wonderful seat in the corner with a waterfront view. This is a lovely restaurant. Service was excellent as well. The mussel appetizer was delicious - white sauce with the crusty bread was so good. Crab dip was ok. The lamb shank special was also delicious - meat was braised fork-tender. The mahi mahi special was good, maybe a little dry, but I really enjoyed the bed of wild rice that it was served with, a little chew and lots of rich flavor. The disappointment of the night was the brisket - I suppose after having brisket from Texas, you're forever spoiled and can't help but judge everything to that standard. It was dry and a little tough, not a lot of flavor. Overall highly recommend, this remind one of my favorite Lewes restaurants.

Once I saw shrimp and grits on the menu, I immediately zeroed in on that. I love shrimp and grits going back to my Winchester days. Succulent shrimp, cheesy grits, and a nice porky meat to give it extra character. Here they use chorizo. But ham or bacon are good options as well. I also like that they give you eight big pieces of shrimp. Not like other restaurants that only give you two or four prawns and call it a day. The crab bisque is good too. A tasty soup that works well this time of year. Even though it was cold the first go around, the second one tasted hot and fresh. Of course it would taste good. The Delmarva region is abundant in crabs. Just as I would expect a clam chowder to taste great in New England or Manhattan. One thing to nitpick, it should come with oyster crackers, not saltines. They work better when it comes to a bisque or a chowder. Besides that, I have little to complain about.

Located in the quaint downtown, Striper Bites pays homage to Lewes' history as a former Dutch whaling and port city with nautical themed decor. Large wooden barrels, ship steering wheels, mounted fish and nets adorn the walls and accent the dark wooden furniture and color palette. There is a diverse menu, but when I'm in town with friends and family...I keep it simple. I'll usually start with one of the many beers on draft; check the chalkboard for what's on tap from the ever changing selection. The crab dip is an AMAZING appetizer. Chunks of crab meat are mixed in with cheese, given a quick bake, and served with buttered toast points. Great for sharing. You can also ask for additional pieces of bread (which I usually do) to sop up any residual dip. The bistro burger is nothing fancy...but everything a good pub style burger should be. A well seasoned angus beef patty is grilled is topped with aged white cheddar, bacon jam, house sauce, arugula, and nestled in a briche bun. The side of fries are also nice and crispy. Honestly, I've had the fish and chips, the fried shrimp, and other seafood dishes, and no suprise, it's all good. Service is always friendly, but not always as "prompt" when it gets busy - which in the summer during the high tourist season - but that's to be understood. Every town needs a neighborhood gathering spot like Striper Bites.

The wings were another knockout -- crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and tossed in sauces that hit every flavor note you could want.
