Lobster
Sandy G.

My husband and I had an outstanding meal at Harbor Restaurant. Our server, Elizabeth, was warm, friendly, and attentive, making the entire experience even more enjoyable. I had the lobster and my husband had the scallops -- both were absolutely outstanding. The atmosphere was cozy with beautiful views overlooking the harbor, and the décor was charming. We would highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to return!

Really lovely spot! We had the crab cakes, Bouillabaisse and scallops and we can't speak highly enough of each. The flavors were all on point and we were extremely satisfied. Our waitress could not have been sweeter and honestly really made the experience even better. The ambience is cute and cozy. We will 100% be back to Harbour and it's become a new staple in Lewes for us.

Came with friends - off season and later in the evening. That made our visit even more special as we essentially had the place to ourselves. Friends live in the area and told us this was a required stop. They were right! Even walking up the front steps is beautiful. Every detail taken care of. We were seated right away. Fireplace added to ambiance. The dining room is so cozy. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our food was phenomenal and paired with a wine, perfectly. Mussels, oysters, soups, salads and entrees were flawless. No room for desert.

We just had an incredible dinner at Harbour at Canal Square. September is the BEST time of year for crab dishes, and the weather is perfect this week. Highly recommend making your own reservations for the patio if you love seafood with a pretty view.

This is place is so Lewes! The food, the vibe, the amazing service, the view of the harbour is such a reflection of this beautiful historic town. We came with a large group on a rainy evening and no reservations. I was certain that we wouldn't be seated for all of the above reasons but we were seated shortly with that gorgeous view of the harbour. Our server, Kim, was amazing. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu & pleasantly patient with our many questions. Kim was great! We started w a mango burrata w balsamic glaze - simple but amazing w the flavours really complimenting each other. I ordered the Special - Lobster tail w a potato gratin & perfectly sautéed green beans. The lobster was perfectly cooked. Tender & sweet as it should be! It was devoured! The only sad part is they were out the coconut cake for the night. This is only a reason to go back to this fantastic restaurant!

Fun spot for happy hour! Beautiful view of the bay/harbor. The portions are somewhat small but quality was decent and drinks were good.

With all the great reviews, we went to Harbour for our Anniversary. Let me start with some positives - the staff are all SUPER NICE and accommodating. They definitely made our evening special, but the food was not good. We started with lobster beignets that were flavorless and had very little lobster. Then we moved onto our entrees. My husband had the brisket - it had a good flavor but was super dry. It desperately needed more gravy. My entree was a total disaster. The duck breast fat was not properly rendered - it was rubbery. The meat itself was over cooked and flavorless. The side risotto was just plain strange - coconut lime? No. Doesn't work. At least we got free dessert... it was just ok too. SIGH!

Above and beyond service as well as food and drinks. The coconut cake was AMAZING. Drinks were well made and the shrimp pasta was excellent. Not to mention the crème brûlée and apple desserts were out of this world. Beautiful ambience by the harbor. Highly recommend for a romantic night out :)

As you can see from my last review, this is my second time visiting here for Sunday brunch in June. I was here for Father's Day Sunday brunch at 1pm. I booked my reservation on OpenTable using my $25 OpenTable Mastercard credit, which I also used last time. Tammy, our server again was able to apply my $25 OpenTable Mastercard credit to my bill. It was sunny and warm today, therefore, we were seated outside at a rail table for four overlooking the canal. I again started with my spicy bloody Mary, which was included in their Sunday Brunch prix fixe 2 course brunch of $39. Tammy recommended the clams oreganata over the Maryland crab chowder. I again started with and enjoyed my first course of clams oreganata with crispy smoked bacon, bell peppers, cheddar, panko and herb crumb. I also again enjoyed my second course of shellfish steam pot with shrimp, calms, mussels, chorizo, cherry tomato and grilled sourdough bread. I ended my brunch with the Night Rider black Manhattan with Sagamore rye whiskey, Averna Amaro, Mancino Rosso Amaranto Vermouth, cocoa bitters and orange twist for $15. Again, Tammy served us very well. We agreed we will return here again for another Sunday brunch.

Once I saw shrimp and grits on the menu, I immediately zeroed in on that. I love shrimp and grits going back to my Winchester days. Succulent shrimp, cheesy grits, and a nice porky meat to give it extra character. Here they use chorizo. But ham or bacon are good options as well. I also like that they give you eight big pieces of shrimp. Not like other restaurants that only give you two or four prawns and call it a day. The crab bisque is good too. A tasty soup that works well this time of year. Even though it was cold the first go around, the second one tasted hot and fresh. Of course it would taste good. The Delmarva region is abundant in crabs. Just as I would expect a clam chowder to taste great in New England or Manhattan. One thing to nitpick, it should come with oyster crackers, not saltines. They work better when it comes to a bisque or a chowder. Besides that, I have little to complain about.

Located in the quaint downtown, Striper Bites pays homage to Lewes' history as a former Dutch whaling and port city with nautical themed decor. Large wooden barrels, ship steering wheels, mounted fish and nets adorn the walls and accent the dark wooden furniture and color palette. There is a diverse menu, but when I'm in town with friends and family...I keep it simple. I'll usually start with one of the many beers on draft; check the chalkboard for what's on tap from the ever changing selection. The crab dip is an AMAZING appetizer. Chunks of crab meat are mixed in with cheese, given a quick bake, and served with buttered toast points. Great for sharing. You can also ask for additional pieces of bread (which I usually do) to sop up any residual dip. The bistro burger is nothing fancy...but everything a good pub style burger should be. A well seasoned angus beef patty is grilled is topped with aged white cheddar, bacon jam, house sauce, arugula, and nestled in a briche bun. The side of fries are also nice and crispy. Honestly, I've had the fish and chips, the fried shrimp, and other seafood dishes, and no suprise, it's all good. Service is always friendly, but not always as "prompt" when it gets busy - which in the summer during the high tourist season - but that's to be understood. Every town needs a neighborhood gathering spot like Striper Bites.

We were seated on the rooftop and had a great view from our table. Immediately we were greeted and brought water and had our drink order taken. Our waitress explained the menu and we decided on all Tapas. The street corn is something I could eat for breakfast lunch and dinner every day so 10/10. The crab dip was delicious as well but not super strong crabby taste which made it about a 7/10 for me. I'm not a huge mushroom fan but I did have one and I enjoyed it a lot! The crispy calamari was a 10/10 as well and the chipotle aioli that came with it was the perfect pairing. The Gambas Al Alijo was also delicious! Perfect amount of seasoning. We also got the flank steak which was very good but we did ask for it to be cooked medium and it came out more well done than anything but still delicious! We ended the night with a nice little birthday surprise tart, complimentary. A very cute touch! Overall we loved the place and I'll definitely be visiting again and recommending!

Located on the 8th floor of the Cambria hotel. Park in the red cement marked Spain Wine Bar spaces; blue is for the hotel guests. Delicious food with fun cocktails and wines. Here is what we had over three dinners: - Cheese and Charcuterie Board with Drunken Goat cheese (mild flavor) and Jamon Serrano. It came with olives, apricot jam, and mixed nuts. We ran out of crackers and cheese quickly, so I would recommend getting two cheeses and extra bread. - Roasted Beet Salad - lots of cold beet chunks and sprinkled with Valdeon cheese (white cheese similar to feta), Great way start the visit - Short Rib Bocadillo - really loved this - it was short ribs on a lobster roll (no lobster) and the onions really made the flavors pop - Coffee Rubbed Pork Ribs - not spicy - Mmm mmm good! - Flank Steak with green chimichurri - tender and delicious. It did have tiny ribbons of fat on some of the edges. - Patatas Bravas - good size of roasted potatoes, tomato sauce with a drizzle of garlic aioli - Jamon Serrano Croquettes (ham and cheese) - Lollipop chicken - really good fried chicken legs with lots of meat at the top - Pan Seared Blackened tuna with corn avocado salad and micro cilantro. This was tasty but not a lot of tuna for the price - Pistachio gelato - light pistachio flavor - Olive OIl Cake with vanilla bean ice cream - big enough to share. We enjoyed it and it was different. You don't taste the olive oil. It was a denser golden cake. - Flourless chocolate cake covered in a white anglaise sauce and sprinkled with cocoa powder We had the red sangria which was good and came with a dendrobium orchid. We noticed the amount seemed low, about 1/3 full, in the glass but the table next to use had more like 1/2 full in the glass. I tried the Tiramisu White Russian drink for a dessert, and I really did not love it but just drank it to finish it.

When we got there, several people were waiting for tables but we were able to walk on by since we had the res. When we sat down we learned it was restaurant week! At first we thought it would be too much food - but the menu sounded too good so our arms were twisted haha. I got the lobster toast - this was my fave thing I ate at the Blue Hen. My bf got the carpaccio (also delish). For our main course I got the branzino. It was topped w fennel and carrot and it tasted so good w the fish. My bf got the fried chicken and he enjoyed it. We both loved our desserts. I got the strawberry - yum!! And he got the blueberry bread pudding. I had several tastes of his and I wasn't sure which dessert I liked more. Def need to come back!! After many a weekend spent and many a restaurant tried we welcomed new eats at The Blue Hen. This menu is intriguing- small, tight but inventive- we were so excited to eat here! Was wonderful in having a table ready when we arrived for at-will, no reserve seating at about 7pm. Quiet corner. Promptly greeted by our server. She was gracious, so nice, and helpful our whole dining time. We ordered readily, in Mom's overwhelming hunger, lolol. Ordered the Lobster Toast and the Yellow Tomato Gazpacho, as starters. Amazingly accommodating on our order of this gorgeous gazpacho. We were given 2 bowls to split this tomato beauty. A few spoons of smooth & sweet, acidic, flavorful, gripping. Could have ordered more! The Lobster Toast- Accompanied by a concoction of radish, sesame, bitter-sweet....stunning bites in this salad. Unfamiliar but pronounced in the combination. Well done. The lobster- Absent. Wished for an open faced variety. Or at least a dish that advocates for lobster. Charge more. Bigger brioche. Pronounce those beautiful lobster bites in presentation. The lobster as served, was not the star. Ok, a moment for cocktails though- Whoa. Killer kill. The Church Girl Martini. Blessed be in evil, haha This Girl was too tasty in being that strong. So good in flavor, unbeknownst combos. A definite Watch Yourself and watch out for!! Entrees.....well when ordering was told the Sea Bream was out- disappointed on that. The entree menu is small, so should keep available. And when we entered the restaurant it was busier after we sat....so why out of a primary fish already?? So decided ahead- Mom had the Burger and I had the Crab Cake Sandwich. The burger- smashed, but still big patties. A perfect medium. Good overall. The bacon jam was an ask on the side. The bacons were really spicy lardons and were delicious. My crab cake sandwich. Hmmm. You are a sandwich. For the pricing, it's not there. Ate the Lumps, but the rest of the sandwich should I say was in the Dumps? Nothing to be said of standout. Would recommend putting this crab cake as a stand alone entree with accompaniment. Forget the bun. Overall food gets a 3.75. Drinks, environment and service a 4. The Blue Hen is not Spent. But also is not the Top Chicken.
